Nothing outrageous here! Just a nice quality fragrance, I like the orange note and strangely it is orange and not orange blossom.
What I also like about it, is the price- more affordable than the rest of FM overpriced selection. But I try not to let the price influence my judgement.

Summer scent, pleasing, non-invasive but not exciting.

This is a re-introduction of what once was a Barneys New York exclusive. I believe it was produced for Barneys because this shop was the first store in the USA to carry the line – red colored scent chambers and all. Not sure if it’s still exclusive to Barneys but there you have it.
Mostly green apple, some soapy aldehydes and a hissy, steam-like musk accord. It’s just a little weird, pretty wearable but hardly what anyone would deem outrageous.

Is this the same as older version !? Has only the bottle changed ?

I must say that this is quite surprising coming from FMalle and it did leave a lovely impression instantly. Basically I get a green apple note (salty after some times, like a Granny Smith apple you eat with a knife and add a little salt to it!), also light white floral freshness wrapped in aldehydes… lots of aldehydes & musc! Like entering a cloud of aldehydes & white musc! Nothing spectacular, nothing sophisticated or fancy, just a beautiful everyday fragrance that will be bright under the spring & summer sun.
Like philball said… the name Outrageous doesn’t really describe this fragrance. My references or imagination sends me images of cleanliness, white shirts and also summer, winds and white fluffy clouds. I would imagine more of a balançoire/a swing in the midst of summer flying high in the wind. Or imagine yourself in the middle of a backyard, clotheslines with clean white sheets flapping in the wind (poetry ends here… I promise!!!). With these images I also have a feeling of something unreal, light & dense at the same time and a cleanliness that is almost… cold! Without feeling an unpleasant synthetic vibe, I must say that it is kind of abstract. Like something we would find under the label Comme des Garçon rather than FMalle. I am certain that this fragrance will be pretty efficient under a hot & humid summer day.
Do have a try and make your own opinion, but this fragrance did surprise me after the first test on skin.

EDIT:
After trying my sample twice over the weekend, I had to have it. Bought it today. Quickly went from like to… love!
(Bottle is like regular FMalle (red & black), nothing like the one shown up here.)

Surprisingly…meh.

This is a strange and unexpected fragrance, especially given the name. Different, possibly but Outrageous? I’m not so sure.
It has, what can best be described as, a clean linen vibe, once you get over the sharper, metallic top notes, combined with a sherbet accord and a light musky, woody undertone. It’s contemporary, androgynous and, dare I say, somewhat clinical. Because of this, I don’t think it knows what it’s trying to be but, then again, perhaps that’s the point. It’s fresh and clean and I do like it but I don’t know where or when I would wear it, other than perhaps around the home if I wanted something clean and comforting to smell. Performance Seems decent with good longevity and average projection.
I can’t say I was bowled over by it but, having said that, I kept going back to sniff the tester card so something was drawing me back and I do keep thinking about it. Time will tell if it ends up in my collection. Definitely worth a sniff but not a blind buy.
Edit: I revisited this again today and I can see it for what it is, which is a modern, clean, aldehydic, musky comfort scent, best worn for yourself, rather than others. It reminds me of Serge Luten’s L’Eau except this is less screechy. I like its ‘cleaness’ to some extent but ultimately it leaves me feeling a bit cold. It feels like it’s missing some notes and needs a soul.
