Very misleading name. I know there are plenty hardcore Montale fans and a few may have blind bought this without reading the notes. If you did then you are in for a total shock! This is a fruity gourmand. There is no way in hell the name should have anything to do with oud as it’s simply not present. What you will get is a long lasting pretty much over the top grape/vanilla scent that is done in Montale style. Very linear and straight to the point. It leans a bit more feminine than masculine IMHO but I am more comfortable wearing this than other Montale unisex fragrances such as Sicily and Chocolate Greedy. 100 ml is under $70 ATM so if you love it,this is the right time to buy. My 10 ml decant will last me quite a few years.

My very 1st Montale full bottle. Blinded buy and recommended by a friend that has lot of experiences on niche fragrances. Previously i owned Mancera Intensitive Gold Aoud and Velvet Vanilla, both are great in terms of smell, sillage, longevity and projection, but works average on my skin. 6-8 hours top and the scent consistent from the 1st spray until dry down and holds for up to maximum 8 hours.
So, after 2 variants of Mancera, i shift to Montale 😉 this one i bought at fragrancex for a USD114 (includes postage to Malaysia). Heard a lot of rumours that Montale packaging very sensitive, sometimes it gets leak, fortunately mine was in a perfect and great shape. No leak and all sealed. Thanks fragrancex!
1st impression… the scent was quite heavy. I can smell from the box, pouch also.. all smell nice IMO. So i assume this Oudmazing really intoxicating. Then i sprayed for the very 1st time. All i can smell was fruit fruit fruit… sweet, refresh fruitiness and then quickly followed by floral notes.. a bit sharp and harsh in the opening.. but within hours it gets softer, sweeter, musky, spicy, woody, earthy and leathery but not too masculine. Oudmazing has been categorised as fruity with floral notes group based on Montal website but i have to admit this piece is absolutely for unisex. The leather notes playing a big role as a balancer so you wont smell too feminine or masculine at the same time. For me, this one is unique, a bold, thick scent. And yes, for what i paid, it was worth.
    So here’s the verdict:
Please take note that i only wear 2 sprays. Indoor activity and on a hot weather (daytime-midnight).
Projection: 8/10, people 2-4 meters away can detect something sweet and fruity. Projection is declining respectively.
Sillage: 8/10, strong and heavy.. no need to stick nose to the skin just to enjoy the smell lol.
Longevity: 9/10, beast!!! It has been 13 hours since i sprayed and still linger on me though the projection and sillage already less. It started to form a skin scent after 14 hours ++. Great isn’t it?
    Price:10/10.
    Total: 8.75/10

The first thing that comes into my mind wearing this is, Byredo Pulp… It has the fig feel all over it. Byredo’s Pulp is a bit more fruity sour, but Montale’s Oudmazing is sweeter, I guess it’s the oud. Development-wise, both are nice.
I’m glad that I order a decant of this, I have Byredo Pulp, and I don’t want to spend considerable amount of money for a scent that’s more or less the same.

This fragrance is super sweet – it sticks on skin all day and has a great sillage.
    There are vague traces of
    – Si by Armani
    – Angel by Thierry Mugler
    – La Vie Est Belle by Lancome
I have never ever worn any of those fragrances beyond just trying them out as they aren’t really my thing. I am, however, quite happy to wear Oudmazin on account of the oud that breaks up the overly sweet.
It’s one of the more pleasant Montale fragrances in the sense that it isn’t offensive.
    Just don’t spray too much.

An absolute shambles of a fragrance. Starts off with a chemical blast of fake fruits and talcum powder, verging on a tropical garden room freshener vibe.
As it subsides, you get the same vibe, but with a less noxious chemical vibe. It stays linear for a very long time, atleast an hour, until it hints at nuances of what could have been a reasonably priced oud note.
If you stay in a room wearing this for a while, walk out and then walk back in once your nose is clear, you will detect the faintest hint of oud floating in the air. I got a lot of compliments from people who generally very generic tastes in fragrances, while wearing this one. I would avoid it like the plague.
Such a shame that this originated from the same house that gave us Black Aoud and Red Aoud, two fragrances that I love and cherish.
    0/10 for this one.

Incredibly fruity/woodsy scent with MONSTER projection and INSANE longevity. Literally 1 (O.N.E) spray is all you need and you’re good for the day. It actually reminds me of Mancera Cedrat Boise but with a much stronger, sweet fruity note and all other aspects on STEROIDS. Unbelievable.

super heavy longevity and silage . after buying that i actually didnt got amazed by , but while moving it from one point to other point of home , my finger got its fragrance till 12 hrs

Strange… On blotter it reminded me Angel. On skin it opened very different, where oud was too leading. On blotter it was yummy and catchy. On skin it was typical Montale. I like some Montale fragrances, but I don’t know what for I should by so many oud fragrances. Many of them started seems to me alike. Maybe anything new?! But this fragrance is interesting.

    Superfruity and very long lasting.
Neverending little bits of oud combined with an Aventus opening that goes on and on.
Not that bad, not for me.

I am totally on board with feminine smelling male fragrances but, even so, I have to agree with people who feel that this leans far too feminine to be considered unisex. Make no mistake, the fragrance in itself is really enjoyable – very fruity, sweet, vanillic. The performance is also outstanding – surely among the strongest performers I’ve had on my skin. I’ll definitely indulge in it within the confines of my home, but I wouldn’t dare wear it in public.

I have been experimenting with Montale perfumes for quite a while and so far I only found Sandflowers attractive which is not your typical Montale either. Other Montale fragrances tend to have one specific note that is sharp, pungent and gives me a headache.
But Oudmazing might just be second in the line. At first spray it reminds me sooo much of MFK Oud Satin Mood. I love Oud Satin Mood so this one caught my attention too. It is true that none of the two are not heavy Oud fragrances. While Oud Satin Mood is much more sophisticated and more of a vanilla masterpiece Oudmazing is pretty close but with less vanilla more citrus and more green and fruity notes. It could be a cheaper alternative if you like MFK OSM as well. Nice surprise.

That is aoud in white flower dress. For me personaly it has resemblence with Nrcizo, the white bottle, just Oudmazing sounds more sophisticated and softer.

I smell no aoud in this. In my opinion one of the lowest and most artificial smellign montales. i realize fragrances can be subjective but I really disagree with a rating above 4 for this but lower than 4 for aoud nepal or black aoud. a weird synthetic 90s leather, with an almost aldehyde scent. screams artificial to me.

  15. :

My first Montale.. owing to it’s being v cheap on Ebay. The leather is a bit tangy for my taste so far.. I think that is what makes it unisex. I’m getting fruity/berries and leather basically so far.. I imagine this is what Pan smells like in Autumn. I am ambivalent about it.

  16. :

    3 out of 5

The oud is definitely there. As well as the rose, patchouli, leather and vanilla. As for the fruits, I can only smell raspberry/litchi which is not even listed. Oudmazing reminds me strongly of La Nuit Tresor by Lancome with a spoonful of medicine (aka oud) added.

I’m a man and this works really well on me. This is truly a unisex fragrance.

  18. :

I have difficulties imagining this on a man.
For me this is super feminine, sweet and fruity. I don’t detect much oud in it, nor leather. All I smell are grapes, figs and vanilla. I love this combo so much, it is truly amazing and so uplifting to me. Very summery, girly and playful.

    Super extra mega sweet.
    Candy power sweet.
    Body building sweet.
Aoud, poor guy, is lost in translation of all that sweet sweetly sweetness.
No-no for me. I love aoud and I want him to be the main leading actor.

Piguet Visa. Smells ok but no originality since it’s VERY similar to Visa. Montale disappoints me…

Pierre Montale’s take on Black Opium. Aoud Black Opium if you will. I love the combination of fig and pear up front with the supporting citrus. The fragrance opens densely sweet, bright and smooth all at once. The creamy musky florals dominate the dry down before the late harvest grapes, choco-patch and vanilla infused oud take the stage for the closing number.

  22. :

    3 out of 5

No vanilla or oud. This goes on with huge fruit in the top with a hint of oud that disappears. Then there are some florals; so, it becomes a fruity floral but then the fig fig fig but not the fig fruit, the fig leaf with that dry sharp fig scent take over. That is what the drydown is about. It is fig. I like it as a fig frag but not as an oud frag.

  23. :

Nice fruity, and more specifically a citrus fruity fragrance of Montale. The creator must have forgotten to add the oud notes, which turned his creation into a nice and inoffensive resemblance of after-shaving eau de cologne.

This one is the best among my Montale collection. Love it unconditionally for all notes it has got. i am going to but 100ml soon

  25. :

Very sweet but not cloying. Reminds me A LOT of Armani Si. The oud is not the driver here, it’s just a background to sweet notes, mainly vanilla.
Again, I like it, but it leans more toward the feminine side.
This is one of the better Montale creations

Anyone familiar with Montale Aouds know that they kind of have their own trademark “oud” style and personality in different forms. This one steps out of the crowd a bit.
Opens fruity and sweet but not in a sour way. very soft and calming. base note of vanilla really brings that opening sweetness to the forefront. Along with that is the fig that kind of plays the quarterback position in this bouquet of scents along with the agarwood directing the line of scrimmage as the Center. they blend perfectly together and make the notes stand out on their own.
The name Oudmazing is very on point with what you get out of this scent. It stands alone in the Montale line because of its versatility being a unisex scent. masculine, yet, you would love this on your woman, especially on a date in the winter time.
Longevity is great, projects nicely as a woman complimented me this morning and made small talk after i walked past her. it’s a friendly scent in all environments and i highly recommend this to anyone and everyone. this is “oud”mazing(ha, see what i did there) package of notes that will leave you satisfied

Finally a fig fragrance I can stand and, actually, quite enjoy! I heard about this fragrance from friends, but I was surprised to see it displayed while out-and-about at a local Nordstrom’s. Moreover, I was completely taken by surprise because I wasn’t familiar with the notes pyramid…and it was not your typical Montale Aoud fragrance.
However, Oudmazing was a very pleasant surprise and I immediately fell three-quarters in love with it: juicy, fruity, sexy and powerful is how it felt to me when first applied. But what was that fruity accord I was smelling and where was that boisterous Montale oud accord? After having researched this fragrance later that day, I noticed the notes of fig and grape were listed. Ah…I get it now…finally a very nice fig-accord; one that is pleasant, interesting and does’t make my stomach lurch. All I can say is, “Oudmazing!”
I brought home a card sprayed with Oudmazing and the next day I could clearly smell a juicy-fig blanketed by a not-too-powerful oud accord in the background. Very nice. My only complaint is that Oudmazing comes across as being a bit too feminine for my testosterone-laden skin. It’s a shame!
Typically, I give these “Fragrances I love but just seem a bit too feminine for my taste” to my girlfriend. A perfect example would be Montale Intense Cafe. I purchased a bottle and loved it upon first sniff. Although I could easily wear it, my girlfriend immediately loved it and look possession of my bottle. LOL! Not a problem since it smells even better on her. Plus, I get to wear another fragrance I love while still being able to smell Intense Cafe on her skin. Winning!
Sadly, my girlfriend didn’t really like Oudmazing. She said, “It okay but it smells a lot like the campfire fragrances you wear.” In a nutshell, those campfire fragrances are Rouge Bunny Rouge Embers, Perris Monte Carlo Oud Imperial and La Curie Incendo. She is a scent newbie so I can assure you this fragrance smells nothing like the aforementioned.
To me, Montale Oudmazing is Fig-Worthy…however, as with any Montale, Mancera and Amouage perfume…try before you buy. Figgy-Diggy.

Oudmazing is a funky name and it stands for a rather unusual take on the typical Montale oud. This is a juicy, fruity-sweet composition with just a bit of woody backbone. For me it’s feminine and has a lipsticky, youthful aspect with a typical synthetic Montale drydown.
A pretty versatile all year round fragrance with excellent performance.

Jasmine, milky fruits, leather and lipstick.
I never turn down scents for leaning on the feminine side, i always give them a chance, but this one is leaning all the way.
Oh and the quality of ingredients is not that great either.
That makes it a NO/NO for me.
    Big pass!

  32. :

    5 out of 5

Montale’s Oudmazing is certainly an unusual use of oud, specifically as a top note, as the oud factors in strongly to start but quickly (within 15 minutes of applying, in my case) fades down into a fruity, floral, powdery mix.
I find it interesting but not very inviting, but not off-putting, either. The fig assists the oud in the opening, but after they fade away, it’s a mix of jasmine, iris, leather, and vanilla mainly, and no particular note stands, except perhaps for the iris as the fragrance is distinctly powdery on my skin in the dry down.
Performance seems solid, as is the expectation of most Montales, but the scent just isn’t quite what I like.

After reviewing the notes, decided to pull the trigger and add this to my collection. Very fruity composition but not overly feminine. Great projection , and lasts 12 + hours. No oud is detected but the strentgh of this scent reminds you it’s there. I had a female co worker that was sitting next to me stop and sniff the air. She comes to me and sniffed me up and down and goes ” what s that you are wearing? You smell so good!”. Worth a try if you dig the notes. Next up on the Montale list will be intense cafe.
    Projection 10/10
    Scent 9/10
    Sillage 10/10

Wow what a scent, this does have a very subtle oud note but its top notes of Pear and Fig is really overwhelming and what sells this one for me.
For me this sits somewhere between Wild Pear and Aromatic Lime in terms of wearability for gender, as i found as much as i love Aromatic Lime it is just a tad too feminine once it has dried down on my skin, although i do still wear it i have noticed a few strange looks from passers by. Oudmazing sits still very much on the feminine side of things but i absolutely love this one and is a little more wearable from a male perspective. This like the other Montale’s i have are absolute beast mode scents so do take it easy with the trigger on this.

Can’t say enough about this sweet, fruity, woody, floral musk whipped up by Pierre Montale! Sicilian orange, Bergamot, and Oud reign at the top along with candy sweet fig & pear. Florals, patchouli, and orris hold down the midde with sweet Vanilla standing firm well into the dry down. I absolutely love this frag and I recommend it highly!!!

Not sure whats oudmazing about this.. Maybe that theres so little oud if any? Or just a market gimmick probably since its hip and cool to have oud in everything.. and well.. its montale so…
Anyway misleading name, ok smell. Just meh for me. Or maybe I should say aoudMEHzing.. get it? *crickets chirp* oh well I tried

    First Impression:
My initial impressions from a paper strip, lovely sweet fruity soft oud, really easy to like.
It may be just me, but it does remind me of Black Opium, but much better quality and more unisex. Got a sample and will test it out on skin.
