Description

“UNRESTRAINED. LAVISH. INTENSE. Tom Ford Oud Wood Intense introduces new dimensions of oud at its richest, most luxurious saturation. Often imitated, never duplicated, the classic Tom Ford Oud Wood reveals its full force through a bold intensification, ignited by the smoldering grip of angelica roots and cypress. “

It is available as a 50 and a 250 ml Eau de Parfum.

Oud Wood Intense was launched in 2017.

I just bought a 50ml partial because it was an impossible deal. But, i did so blindly and i gotta say, this stuff is NOT for the faint of heart. One spray, i could smell it 19 hours later as if it had only been a couple hours! Damn!
Anyways, as previously stated, this has o.g. Oud Wood DNA but it’s not similar at all. In fact with this, i get what, to me anyways, is somewhat of an asphalty/rubbery smell, almost like the smell of tires (not the smoke in the air) after a burnout, while wearing a spray of Oud Wood.
I’m trying my best to enjoy it, but it’s initially too intense for my immediate liking. Other reviews have stated to give this another go later on, and i intend to. As of now, I’m enamored by its performance but am baffled by the aroma. Too soon for me to rate, but gun to my head I’d personally give this a 7 right now, but the quality is much much better than my rating conveys.

Updated comment: I am utterly surprised by the comments by people comparing this to Oud Wood. I have learnt with TF do not expect the expected. By now all should have realized that TF does not conform to any other brand he is the trendsetter not the catch up guy. Soon you will see all these misnomers with other houses who will try the same baffling techniques but Mr Ford has once again lead the pack. Real perfume addicts, fume heads, or frag heads, etc will go into any fragrance with an open mind and appreciate the art for what it is. TF started this trend years ago with the first being TF Man Extreme which is nothing like TF Man.

I sampled this a few times and have to say its gorgeous, bold, rugged and a mans man kind of scent. To my nose the leather resembles more the vinyl type of material and the resemblance to the leather in Amouages Imitation Man is uncanny considering they both seem to harken to the same 70’s/80’s era. I get kind of a powdery note (like Iris/Oris although no mention of this) and a very slight petroleum note in the background (no violet either mentioned). The “leather” scent and I get a cardimim note seems to stay forever even to the dry down which gets a bit powdery but remains amazing. Even with its linearity it does give off more than one note. Well done TF. Not for softies aka fresh , aquatic, and mainstream fans. Only qualm as is everybody elses here is the price point and there is no 100 mL only the 50 mL and 250 mL – in both instances somebody is making a lot of money. Full flacon worthy purchase? Unlikely except if its discounted on sale and I can split it. 50 mL a real waste of money Ml for mL…

this would be an interesting OUD/CYPRESS/GINGER on it’s own if it werent for the unfortunate name. this invites comparison. BIG MISTAKE. the original is such a classic that this just doesnt hold up. and at the EXTREME price it really isnt worth it

This is my second review of this. Nearly a year has passed since the last review.
I recommend giving this one a second look if you do not like it immediately. I smelled it again about a year later and love it. I hated it before. Perhaps it was a climate thing. I’ve since moved from a hot, humid climate to a cool, dry climate. Oud and cypress dominate for me now. Before, I smelled gasoline. Really odd.
Anyway, this is now one of my favorite Tom Ford fragrances.

Time to disappoint TF fans. This flanker/intense version sucks, The Original is way better. What the hell is that animal, musty smell in this, enough said

I love this… It could easily be named Tom Ford Extreme Extreme. I love the dry, leathery, slightly animalic facets of this fragrance. It’s nothing like the original Oud Wood, which is a good thing, but I feel that it could be a bit misleading. I agree with those who say that it resembles Bel Ami.

    Beast mode Oud Wood.
Yes this has the Oud Wood dna.
This is what an ‘intense’ flanker should be rather than the slightly stronger versions offered in most intense flankers.
Oud Wood is like listening to Frank Sinatra sing My Way! on vinyl.
Oud Wood Intense is like listening to Sid Vicious sing My Way! live.
    Oud Wood 10/10
    Oud Wood Intense 10/10

I may hurt some people but I have to be honest.
This fragrance smell cheese..I find it quite horrible. It’s probably why some people prefer mainstream to niche fragrances cause those niche perfumes, by their originality can sometimes fall into the trap of smelling horribly weird and bad.
I was and I am still a big fan of TF work in general but come on..
Stop creating useless / bad fragrances, especially at a higher cost.
Do you seriously think that you can compare tobacco vanille or noir de noir to oud wood intense or costa azzura or weak performers as sole di positano?
Isn’t anybody to tell Tom, we should stop introducing new fragrances for a while cause we are destroying the fantastic collection we had?
    Quite depressing..

Love at first sniff. This is an entirely new fragrance having precious little in common with Oud Wood. Along with Gucci Guilty Absolute, this is one of my new favorite discoveries of 2018.
For me, this is petrol-leather bliss, which begs the question:
Why can’t M. Demachy and company find a way to bring back a bit more of the original / vintage magic to today’s Fahrenheit?? 🙂

This is what I expected from Epic for man by Amouage, reading the reviews.
The two have little in common, but Oud wood intense is-in my opinion-a better fragrance.
The top notes are medicine/gasoline/hot wheels and I don’t appreciate them much. They remind me of Patchouli absolu, it must be because of the cypress and the juniper.
I can smell some oud, but it’s surely not the big star here.
It dries down to a very masculine old school scent-the castoreum, I believe.
I can’t say I dislike it, but still think it should come in 30ml. bottles and it should cost like most of the other private blend creations.

Tom Ford was one of the first to bet on the commercial appeal of agarwood and while he was creatively directing Yves Saint Laurent he commissioned what became one of the commercial classics with this note, the M7 perfume. It is possible to say that 5 years later Oud Wood was born within the Private Blend with Tom Ford still betting on this idea, but this time with a more Westernized, clean and elegant touch. No wonder the perfume has become one of his best-selling hits, although it is criticized for not being an agarwood perfume as expected. Apparently, Oud Wood Intense is born in 2017 precisely to meet this demand.
This creation, however, ends up incurring a problem, which is the creation of an intense flanker of another perfume, generating expectations of a more striking version of the original. Although it is more intense indeed, Oud Wood Intense is not exactly a version, but a new fragrance based on the concept of agarwood, one that promises to sell the it in its most luxurious and rich form. It is a bold goal and one that unfortunately the brand can not honor.
Oud Wood Intense works like a trailer: you see in a condensed way the best parts in the opening, however when you analyze the project as a whole is disappointed because it does not deliver what the condensate seemed to point. I creatively see a kind of impasse in the construction of the perfume, as if it was not decided whether the flanker would go in a more daring and risky direction or would maintain the luxurious commercial appeal of the traditional. In this way, the opening sells a more animalic and leathery aroma, a bright polished aroma that briefly resembles the discontinued 2 private blend leathers (Japon Noir / Bois Rouge). At a mild temperature this aspect does not hold up, making room for a more herbal and aromatic aroma and a path that takes the agarwood in a more woody and musky direction.
Oud Wood Intense ends up making the mistake of not sustaining promised richness.I foresee also that it is a perfume that can disappoint to many: those who smell its opening can be frightened and do not wait for the evolution and those that are pleased with it have chances of being disappointed later. Considering that it is positioned in a price range to be a more premium version of Oud Wood it is a scent that disappoints for lack of boldness and consistency.

This does NOT smell anything like the original Oud Wood.
The oud is very sharp, dry and smoky. Almost a bit bitter. There could actually be some few drops of real oud oil here.
However, this is not the warm, smooth and sensual Oud Wood scent which i love.
It should have been called Oud Incense instead but this is in any case nothing for me.
Ok longevity of approx 5-6 hours with soft projection after 1-2 hours.

Bleh. This perfume has nothing to do with beavers or Oud. Just another overdone amber musk chemical bomb. You purchase small (but lasting) bottle of real Oud and quite a lot of castoreum for the same price.

I personally really like this. Although I am still fairly new to fragrances, I see no reason not to wear this in summer. Despite what others may say, I also believe it smells fairly similar to Oud Wood (non-intense).

I love to see new releases like this. I was excited to try this and Tobacco Oud Intense. This is bold and brash but I honestly thought it would be more unpleasant judging off reviews. It’s animalic/skanky notes are soft and tame with the smoke and leather being mainly it.
    I can’t help but think this is….
    50% John Varvatos Dark Rebel
    40% Rebel Rider
    10% Animalic notes
Im a little bumbed its not what i expected. It is extremely powerful, and 1 little puff from a mini sampler lasted hours and hours, but I can’t justify the cost as it’s expensive even amongst the private line.

I’m wondering if I should dabble in these oud perfumes, and I would like a bit of advice. I tried some of this, and I must say it’s pretty stunning, but I’m not sure I really want to smell like that. Have heard a load of hype about oud, and I am not a newcomer to perfumes as such, but I am to oud. It reminded me of … I don’t know what! Going past a tyre replacement shop a few days later, it hit me, thats it! But there’s other stuff it brings to mind as well, like mouldy cellars. And people tell me this one’s tame, as oud scents go.
I would be interested to know peoples experience the first time they wore an oud perfume.
It was this one I tried, not the standard one. Wasn’t sure at first, didn’t check the labels. Didn’t even know there was an intense and a standard. I think it’s actually the standard one people are talking about when they say it’s a bit tame.

Castoreum and Oud beast, simple hard core notes but this smells very rubbery and leathery. Longevity and sillage are great. I already own some beast oud fragrances otherwise I might consider buying a full bottle. This is very pricey though and not sure worth the $$ for a 50ml. Also this is one to not garner compliments. : )

You smell safe and generic – said no one ever.

  23. :

    3 out of 5

Oud and castoreum combine with the remaining notes to make an animalistic and petroleum-touched black leathery smell. It is not thick and dense like Black Afgano, but more “open” and airy especially in the dry-down. I think the juniper and ginger add notable spice to it as well. It’s super dark and masculine with undeniable beast mode performance! Oh boy do I love me some loud perfumes XD
This is a tough one. It’s not a mass appealing scent, and a number of people will be honestly turned off by it, however it is probably in the top 5 of everything I own or have sampled. You must try before you buy. I tested two separate samples extensively and they really stood out in both uniqueness and compliments!
Personally, I was in awe of it from first sniff (immediate strong black leather smell to my olfactory). It is allegedly a limited edition. If I had the money to blow I would have been crazy enough to get the 250ml flacon.
For me it’s a masterpiece, and I would be sad without it in my collection. I’ve spent some time searching for amazing leather fragrances, and this one is the ultimate “black leather” smell for me thus far.
I layer this with Tuscan Leather occasionally for a darkly sweet, super rich leather smell. It’s incredible stuff

Worn this twice now and it’s not made a massive impression on me to be honest. I like it, and it’s interesting to see these ‘Intense’ versions released within the Tom Ford Private blend line. I never really understood the masses of praise heaped on the original Oud Wood, it’s okay but weirdly aloof and medicinal for such, across the board praise, I would’ve thought. Guess I’m wrong again. This Intense version is not a heightened version of the original and I for one am glad, to say it’s not even remotely similar isn’t strictly true because a hint of the accord pokes it’s head out when it settles. This is probably due to the oud component being similar. Oud Wood Intense however is a much more rubbery and authentic mixed woody affair, with an opening of cypress and animal notes. It’s a moody scent but never dark, more cuddly and drying down to a kind of leather smell perhaps with hints of tobacco? Is this going to be as popular as the original…I doubt it and suspect some might not even enjoy it at all, but there can be no doubt what we have here is another high quality edition to the Tom Ford line. I mentioned I’ve worn it twice and would definitely wear it again, perhaps I will fall for it then who knows. Worth a sniff though for sure.

Not the original Oud Wood. At all. A completely new smell and I enjoy that. Loved it from the first time I smelled it over at Neimans I had to get it. Initial blast of so much smoke then the cypress and sweetness comes in. Performs well, smells great. Good job Tom.

This was another perfume my male friend was testing on skin, I can see why some might find it challenging at first, but the general waft once it’s dried down was utterly gorgeous to my nose, definitely one of my favourites among men’s perfumes. Then again, I do love leather and smoky notes, in my own perfumes too.
I found this quite sexy, and refined. If you find it a little strong it’s probably best either sparingly applied, or an hour or so before leaving the house.
    Sillage and longevity excellent

Tom Ford has some of the best fragrances I know. His Private Blend has many masterpieces (Tuscan Leather, Amber Absolute, Tobacco Vanille, Neroli Portofino, Oud Wood, Noir de Noir, etc). Oud Wood Intense has nothing to do with the original Oud Wood. This is not a fragrance for everyone. It´s quite smoky, dry with a rubbery vibe. I believe I´ll pass this one.

Love this but I’ve been told that is smells like a whore house.. it must be all that oud…

  30. :

    4 out of 5

After much thought and comparison, I prefer the original. It’s a bit sweeter. To me this feels too dry. I know that might not make sense. It’s definitely more macho, leathery, and less of that Ketchup note. (Tom Ford’s Ouds are the only ones I sometimes get a whiff of ketchup. I am sure I’ve lost my mind but I swear to you that is what I get. No I am not having a stroke). I love the original. It’s a bit fresher and not quite so bitter and leathery. Give me ten years working as a Dom Top bartender at your local Eagle bar, you know, with those black leather harnesses, and leather Eagle wrist wallets you used to be able to buy, is that only at the one in NYC? After 10 years working in a leather or biker bar I would be able to pull this off. Or of I joined a biker gang. Until then I’m sticking to the original.

I inadvertently got a smidgen of this on my thumb while sampling a strip. 12 hours later, after a shower, I was at the gym and my sweat brought it back to life in full force. I smelled like a leather makeup bag for miles. I left every piece of gym equipment haunted with my scent.

I Just love Tom Fords creations generally, Oud Wood being my Signature… I also enjoy Noir for day to day and extreme..But 2 of his actually assault my nose; Anthracite and now this.
It’s a shame because I’ve been waiting to try this expecting a slightly strong OW, but no. It just repels me.
Horrid horrid horrid, sharp and punchy kicks me into headache instantly just like the awful Sauvage does.
I’m not experienced enough to say what makes me dislike this so much in terms of composition, but I gave the sample away instantly.

  33. :

Last but not least, the final new Tom Ford from my recent testing spree.
Alas, further disappointment (and at a heftier price tag may I add).
It seems like Tom has gone out of his way to create something with beast performance, but has forgotten the cardinal rule of fragrance…Make it smell at least somewhat appealing.
This does have beast performance, but the problem is it does not smell that great. If you like to stink as if an ashtray was poured on you, then someone lit you on fire, and then a skunk came along and pissed on you to put the flames out, and then you were smothered in germoline and wrapped in elastoplast to heal you up, then you can do all that.
Alternatively you can drop close to £300 and buy this for exactly the same effect, minus the burns and cleaning up.
I however, will pass (on both counts).
The original Oud Wood must be awfully embarrassed to share it’s name with this concoction.

Right up my alley!!! Mysterious Dark Leather Oud! Undoubtably masculine! Another job well done Mr. Ford. Just now don’t discontinue it!

  35. :

    4 out of 5

I finally got my nose on this flanker. This is indeed different from it’s legendary counterpart. I agree with other reviewers. Quite dark and there is certainly leather. I find the original oud wood to be sweeter after comparing them. Oud wood is more versatile then the intense version. If you ask me, oud wood is unisex where as the intense is masculine.
A fantastic scent that definitely lasts! I still smell it on the blotter card I sprayed it on yesterday afternoon (it’s the next day in the evening) not as potent, but certainly toned down enough to know that it is there.
Tom Ford is definitely going in the right direction with some of these intense flankers. Perhaps his next intense version could be one off his Verte lineup.

  36. :

    3 out of 5

I was very happy to see the reviews saying that Oud Wood Intense was nothing like Oud Wood. I am very much in the minority on Oud Wood. I love oud and I love wood, but after trying Oud Wood several times over the years and have to admit that it just does not do anything for me. One day I will try it again.
Fast forward to present day, and I ordered a sample of Oud Wood Intense based on the notes and the reviews saying it is nothing like the original Oud Wood. And I an VERY glad I did!
OWI has a very heavy and dark opening. almost like a heavy leather or an electrical fire on my skin. For the first 2 hours I get a very dark, heavy and intense scent. Not for the faint of heart. I see this scaring off many people. If you like clean / fresh / lighter scents, you are probable not going to like this one, but I absolutely loved it this phase. After a few hours OWI moves into what I am calling dry down deliciousness! Castorium and Oud in a sexy dance inside a dark club filled with smoke and plush leather furniture.
I get good projection and longevity on my skin. Unfortunately I do not get the beast mode that others have reported. That is a shame. 🙁
While OWI is listed as Unisex, it leans more masculine to my nose. OWI works well in either casual or formal attire.
Bottom line: If you are looking for a crowd pleaser or a massive compliment getter, stay with Oud Wood. If you like heavy, dark and sensual scents, you should try a sample of this.

  37. :

Dark and dirty. The oud is very prominent and its not the beatyful “oud” as in oud wood. This is angry but sexy oud. Oud wood intense is like walking past a masculine man smoking a cigarette in a black leather jacket.
    7/10

Testing this today, its a very enjoyable fragrance, very woody and slightly spicy, am not overly excited about it and don’t think its bottle worthy because of the price but its nice and pleasant and very much a BEAST!! i do prefer this to the original as i think it has more depth- 8/10

  39. :

    4 out of 5

This is a good fragrance. Great body, heavy, incredible performance and what I like about many Ford ouds is how he sands down the edges of that oud so that you can enjoy it without having to cope with that otherwise heavy and cloying smell of the oriental oud. After a few hours however i start detecting something sharp in background that i dont like and which i am pretty sure is the animalic component.

  40. :

    5 out of 5

I kept waiting for this to settle on my skin to experience the notes discussed in prior reviews, but no such luck.
From start to finish on me, this is a smokey, synthetic, bandaid/medicinal experience. And in case that wasn’t implied; not in a good way.
Perhaps it’s a chemistry thing. It’s certainly potent, though, so I’ll give it that.

  41. :

    4 out of 5

I own most of popular Tom Ford fragrances, I have to say this one’s performance and projection is beast mode. It’s saturated and confident, incorporating zingy aromatics like cypress, juniper, and angelica, but also the growling animalics of Tuscan Leather for a powerful statement. Very manly scent. It is a very anmalic, patrol/leathery, dirty, spicy and oudy fragrance. It has no resemblance to oud wood at all. It is it’s own scent entirely. This is right now my number one cologne in my collection due to its uniqueness, performance, longevity and compliments. I have been wearing this on weekends when I go clubbing, for the last three weeks and I am constantly getting compliments. I should say it definitely goes with darker guys with beard. Wear your jeans, white muscle t-shirt and a leather jacket and you are good to go with this fragrance. Be prepared to keep girls off your neck all night long. I am telling you I got over 20 compliments in one night, I was shocked myself, because this fragrance is funky, strong and the castoreum and the spicy notes are very strong in this one but for some reason works amazing on my skin. This is definitely my “BAD BOY” cologne.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

Ladies and gentlemen. This is luxury and sex in the very same bottle. The rich scent reminds me of the pact which is made over the soul of Faust between God on the one hand (luxury) and the Devil on the other (sex). In Goethe’s case, the pact is expressed in a poem. In Tom Ford’s case, it is manifested in a fragrance. I’m ready to put my soul up for auction for the price of this bottle.

  43. :

    3 out of 5

As many have already stated, this is a powerful, niche scent that is heavy on the leather, angelica and oud notes so it is not for everyone. I can imagine many people finding it somewhat appealing as a room or car scent but not as a body scent. It would likely remind many of the interior of a luxury, leather-seated car. The oud is much more strong, real and dirty here. Not a note I can imagine many would find appealing except for those who love the darker, winter scents.
Unlike many others, I DO think this does harken back to the original Oud Wood- which I love. I can detect it in there, but that smooth, subtle scent is lost in the stronger leather, herb, oud and and perhaps coal.
That said, I like it but I love the dark, heavy hitters that are not often compliment getters but rather get the sort of “wow- that is strong” attention.

  44. :

    3 out of 5

Completely different than Oud Wood… I get smoke, leather and coal! Take a piece of natural charcoal and pour some water on it, that’s the main note here (wet charcoal) then you get leather and some angelica like the one in Bois d’orage. Crazy strong stuff, nothing sweet at all and I actually seriously like this one! I think I’m getting me a bottle.

  45. :

    3 out of 5

First off, if you have the original Oud Wood and are considering purchasing this, DO NOT blind buy it. This and the original are absolutely nothing alike, unlike Tobacco Oud and Tobacco Oud Intense which do smell very similar. This one is far more similar to Tuscan Leather, so if you like that one, you might like this.

  46. :

    3 out of 5

Not redundant towards the original in any way whatsoever. Whether or not that is a bad thing is up to you, but I think we can at least say its a misleading name.
Where as the original is quite wearable, even clean smelling and a good compliment getter. This is niche in every sense of the word. As in…
Extremely expensive/the idea that “normal” people would want to smell like this, or want to smell it period is stretching it. Its more than a vibe, its well.. niche.
Its not a stinky or funky oud per say, but its definitely outdoorsy. Theres a leather smell to it despite the notes as others have mentioned, and the cypress gives it that fresh sorta smoke smell to it. Theres also a bit of a burnt factor to it, as well as a mechanical touch.
Again for me personally this is the niche stigma in a negative way. Obviously in that sense, since it performs quite potent performance, its going to have some fans. But I think to normal people theres other stuff that can at least sorta go in this direction while being more wearable and just being its own kinda vibe.

  47. :

    4 out of 5

I must say this caught me by surprise. Everyone is saying this is a mix of Tuscan Leather and hints of the original Oud Wood. I adore Tuscan Leather and really like Oud Wood. When I first put Oud Wood Intense on, I was taken aback by a downright jarring blast of smokey (synthetic, but VERY well done) oud and pungent, dirty castoreum. I didn’t know what to think at first. I love @BlessingsB’s reference to burning electric guitar amps/speakers… spot on! As that opening recedes a bit, the notes start to blend and become just a gorgeous smokey, leathery brilliance. The angelica offers a fantastic and unique counter melody against the pure animalic smokey leather oud. The other woods are there, surely adding to the symphonic experience, but completely subordinate to the all powerful oud and castoreum.
Absolutely stunning. Performance reminds me of the original classic TF Private Blends. We’re talking one spray and you’re good…. so the price hike is easier to tolerate.

  48. :

    5 out of 5

This is a inspired choice for someone passionate about leathery scents.
It starts off a little Rock N’ Roll, kind of like spiced oud and burning electric guitar speakers.
After that initial 25 minute dark burst it settles into a very sophisticated and nuanced soft leather scent.

This juice in Canada is $395 (without tax). Same goes with Tobacco Oud Intense. Enough to scare some people away. My verdict has always been, that if you like the scent, appreciate it enough, and ultimately consider yourself wearing this throughout the course of your life, then it’s worth dropping some serious coin for it. I have not smelt either, but I have a 10 ml decant of TOI on it’s way. I have smelt Oud Wood, and I really do like it. Although I’d have to agree with most people here, that is already intense enough. As well, you could spend more money on fragrances to have a small collection of ones you absolutely love, rather than purchase many upon many other fragrances just for the sake of trying them out.

Smells like a mix between Gucci Guilty Absolute, Oud Minerale, and Ombre Leather 16. I hate all 3 of those, but for some reason i dig this. I don’t see it getting any compliments at all, but it’s great to wear just for yourself. Still not as good as Tuscan Leather, and it’s incredibly overpriced, so I probably won’t be buying it unless i find a really good deal at some point

Looks like Tom Ford is slowly jacking up new release prices under the guise of “INTENSE.” Ended up making a purchase. Great scent, cross between Oud Wood and Tuscan Leather. Very complex. Changes every 30 minutes. Animalic in the beginning for 15 minutes. This will be my 2nd Tom Ford favorite. Close behing Noir De Noir. Bravo!

I own the Oud Wood and I have tried yesterday this one.
Intense? yes, but is completely a different than the OW.
I got a lot of smoke, leather and …….. rubber
Reminds me somehow Bvlgari Black, as well as Guilty absolute from Gucci, especially at the openning. They are all the same type of scents.

    @greg1187
The original actually wasn’t intense enough lol It was really smooth and all about rosewood 🙂
This is a completely different fragrance than the original—smoky and dry; instead of calling it Intense they should’ve just named something new. I think they’re trying to revamp the Private Oud line (and raise the $ bar) since the industry is overpopulated with “oud” now. It’s quite nice but I wouldn’t spend the extra hundred (You can get true oud fragrances with that).

I’m getting leather, smoky leather and the leather is glorious. This is Schott Classic Perfecto leather, not on a Harley but on a Ducati. Straight up luxury.
From what I’ve read it seems the notes are all over the place on different skin types. Usually I’m on the wrong end of the stick when it comes to notes reacting favorably on skin but in this case… wow!

Definitely intense!! I wasn’t brave enough to try it on my skin after first sniffing off a blotter. This does not have any of the sweetness that the original has. If you’re a fan of Kilians Gold Oud, Exteme Oud, Black Oud you’ll be a fan of this.
It also reminds me of a more intense Galop by Hermes. Another fragrance that smells like gasoline. Only that one is softened by rose, this one is not.
I trust this would be nicer on skin.

The first time I wore it, my wife asked if I had been at the gas station. The second time I wore it, she asked if I had been painting. Not a fan of this one. I ended up selling it.

It reminds me of colonia leather from ADP + animalic note. Not a crowd pleaser like oud wood. And it’s true intense.. very strong.

As many of you know, TomFord doesn’t do just an intensification of his perfumes by adding a word Intense to it. He usually comes up with a completely new and different scent. This time he took the gentleness of OudWood and blended it with the boldness of TuscanLeather.
The juxtaposition of oud and leather is not always a case of harmony. As an example stands the legendary LeatherOud from DIOR – a very sharp, bold fragrance, blended in a way that leather doesn’t compliment the dryness of oud because it is over-layered by animal notes of civet. The amount of animal civet notes is so strong, that a nose easily misses the sublime velvetiness of

Oud Wood Intense Tom Ford
