Description
The brand Atkinsons celebrates its 200th anniversary with new collection inspired by the Orient. Name of the collection is The Oud Collection and it offers a fragrance for men, OUD SAVE THE KING and a fragrance for women, OUD SAVE THE QUEEN. The perfumes arrive in flacons colored in gold with elegant black tags.
OUD SAVE THE KING is a masculine fragrance with a dandy composition providing a blend of oriental exotics and British posh. Top notes are composed of fusion of earl gray tea and bergamot, leading us to a heart created of orris root absolute and suede accords. Base notes highlight a woody mixture of sandalwood and oud. Perfumer of the edition is Amandine Clerc-Marie of Firmenich. The fragrance can be obtained in 100ml EDP flacons.
Oud Save The King was launched in 2013.

Al Aneeq – Golden Dust perfume oil smells exactly like this and it costs £ 2.50 for 3 ml

Enveloping warmth. Not overly sweet. Grainy in it’s spicy depth. I find this intoxicating. As much as I think I might prefer to smell this on someone else, I keep stealing it back and prefer it on my own skin. I thought it would be a winter scent and here I am on a hot night in summer thinking I will never take it off again. It’s heavenly.

Incredible performance on my skin, and the most delectable oud I have ever smelled. In fact, one of the most regal and delectable fragrances i have ever smelled period. But it’s somehow versatile and not cloying at all. The only oud I have that garners me positive compliments. Highly appreciated by fragrance snobs and noobs alike. A dream fragrance. I couldn’t care less what the negative reviews on here say about it. 24 Gold is a smelly, sweaty mess of a fragrance. This fragrance is what 24 Gold wants to be.

Poor performance, high price.that is summary of the frag.

Thou the quality of this fragrance is refined, I’m going through this juice faster than expected because I find that it’s barely noticeable after 3 hours. I’m not sure if my body chemistry which fades too fast or the batch I bought was poorly put together. Regarding the aroma of this juice, it kinda reminds me of Scentstory 24 oud or Thierry Muglur’s Havana…less the sweet creamy vib.
Longevity and Silage is moderate overall at best.
Overall,
I believe this juice is considered a EDP…I find it more of a EDT. In all I still enjoy the warm aroma of leather combined with woodsy notes. I don’t pick up any Oud what so ever. I still use it but if I would enjoy it more if the notes didn’t wear off so fast on me. Please check it out…I hope your experience is better that it have a longer lasting aroma. 7/10

Ok Frag Headz here goes.
To my nose and using both products side by side I cannot tell the difference between this and 24 Gold scent story.
the notes are pretty much the same, the longevity will depend on your skin type, but the projection is almost identical.
If you want to save yourself a lot of money, just purchase 24 Gold scent story, trust me you will not be happy if you are expecting a different ‘beast’

Awful, save the king from ever having to smell this. An insult to oud as well.

I have 24 Gold and Kalemat so I can see the similarities. This is tad less sweet and more powdery. Its definitely unisex and can easily be worn by a woman. Very sexy indeed. I get more sandalwood and leather in OStK as well There is quite a bit of suede to. It smells more expensive and sophisticated than 24 Gold or Kalemat even though I still love both. OStK only has moderate sillage and longevity so who knows exactly how much oud is in this. I suspect very little if any?! Oud lasts forever! Its definitely not worth the hefty price tag

I smelled this perfume alongside OSTQ and I fell in love. I did not realize this was considered a masculine fragrance to me it is quite androgynous. It smells sweet and lasts all day.

Yes Love the smell of “Oud save the King” an will order as soon as possible!

This is a serious error of judgment and taste from this house. Oud in the hands of such a venerable English house should have been more serious and grown up than this silly sugar cookie of a confection. Cloying. Suffocating. Clumsy. I would say it’s a waste of oud, but I didn’t detect any oud. If you like to wear fragrances that hang on you like a heavy blanket of vanilla cotton candy wool, then please do spend the preposterous sum this puzzlingly poor concoction costs. Keebler elves do oud.
sirobahamut – :
I’m finding the notes hard to believe, because all I could smell on the tester card was a soft sweet vanilla and a smokey gentle wood accord. Reminded me of a less powerful version of “Interlude Man” by Amouage.
Wearable, but ridiculously priced and not a trace of oud.

With a funny name like Oud Save The King, it begs just one question from me… what the heck is oud? Fragrantica says its Agarwood that is reputed to be the most expensive and one of rarest types of wood in the world. So I present to you a review where I can not compare OSTV to another fragrance since I never had one that included oud in its notes.
So I walk into a luxury department store and ask where are the colognes at? I get escorted to the back of the store and is presented with very expensive and top quality fragrances, some which I never heard of. After sampling a few, for some reason, Oud Save The King just stood out more for me. Creed which is a company I adore and if you read my early reviews you can see I am a fan of but not this day… when I took a sample of Creed Royal Oud and compared it to OSTK there was a difference. It left an impression on me and made me realize just how evolved my preference of scents have gotten. Is it my age? Maybe. But the sweetness and smooth fragrance from OSTK struck me like lightning. Is it the oud that gaved me that surprise or was it something else in the notes. Woody and sweet smells are what my nostrils are picking up after an hour and its a smooth and creamy dry down from there. I just keep holding my wrist up to my nose because it smells that wonderful on me. Sillage is good but the longevity is excellent and its up there with my Creed colognes. I prefer to wear it on a fall or winter night for a fun and engaging occasion.
So there you have it. Is OSTK for everyone? Of course not and the price can be on the expensive side for some. But if you do come across it please sample it at least you wont regret it.

My first impression when smelling at the spray nozzle was great. I noticed right away that this is a sweet and “friendly” oud, if oud at all.
Then, when I sprayed it onto my skin and wore the scent for an hour or so it became so cloyingly sweet that I was heavily wondering why on earth at first I was so taken by OSTK.
After an hour this scent is pure vanilla on me. The oud, at first a quite nice but toned-down note, has vanished completely and vanilla (a cookie-like one) has made no prisoners in that fight.
If I want a pure or predominantly vanilla scent I would go for Spiritueuse Double Vanille or even Tobacco Vanille but certainly would not pay EUR 170,- for a wanna-be oud scent that is as flat as this one. Honestly, the bottle is great but there is nothing behind that but hot air. OSTK is the kind of experience that happens when more and more perfume houses want to jump on the almighty oud train without putting much effort into creating something halfway unique. Sorry for my rant but this was a hilarious sniffing experience. Massive failure IMHO.

Nearly every review here compares this scent to some other perfume, and each review’s comparative scent is radically different from the next. Personally, when I tried this I didn’t think it smelled like any one perfume too strongly. I just thought it smelled like a lot of them. It’s just a boring perfume, a “been there done that” kind of oud.

A very sweet oud scent that I instantly recognized but wasn’t quite sure why?
A bizarre and complex mixture of fruity top notes, orris root hint of cinnamon, then loads of amber, vanilla, and an unmistakable but utterly lost Oud accord.
Took me all of about 10 seconds to realize where I had smelled this one before…Scent story 24 Gold!
Oh course it is and practically identical too.
This is a touch more refined than 24 Gold in truth, and so it should be for the price. It doesn’t cloy so much in the opening and is less Full blooded when you try them together. The drydown is more woody and the Oud save the king has a sandalwood throughout which 24 does too but this smells a little better quality to my nose. (again for the price it ought to be)
Basically, the gist I’m getting at is this fragrance has more oud and sandalwood and less vanilla as it settles.
However, 24 Gold has more notes and great performance and is remarkably cheap.
Oud save the king performed very well as expected and has altogether less silage than 24 but still very good longevity, dying down and becoming more manageable.
I love this smell, it’s wonderful but if you like it save yourselves a few quid and get 24 Gold.
kalaneekdar – :
Sampled yesterday in selfridges – as soon as the sales rep sprayed into my skin 24 gold by scentstory was brought to mind, this smells 95% the same maybe without so much sweetness.
For £140 for a 100ml I’d say go for 24 gold instead.
The scent however – very nice with very good projection and longevity.

This review is based on their sample. This basically smells like 24 Gold by ScentStory to my nose minus the suede note and with sweetness toned down a bit. I also get a short-lived GHPII’s tea note during the opening. Projection and longevity are moderate on my skin.

To be honest. Amongst several fifteen to twenty Oud fragrances I have tested and owned so far, including some so called famous brands such as By Killian, Montale, Mancera, etc…This one’s the KING (as regarding the Name, it really saved the OUD – king note in fragrance industry) 10/10.

If I were to review this in a sentence, it would be: Splendid fragrance. Slightly silly name.
If I were to elaborate a bit more I’d say it rather reminded me of Lalique ‘Encre Noir’ a little initially on me. However once it settled in it felt like the sort of scent I’d wear a lot. Mainly at night, mind you. It was/is a comforting scent on my skin & I tend to really like smells that warm up on me over time & this rather daftly named offering from Atkinson does that. I’m 7/8 hours in & I’m still get a warm, reassuring whiff. I know it says it fully loaded with woods, which are more recognisable initially, it tones down to something rather smooth eventually that doesn’t seem like a wood but more of a gourmand note.

Sales rep made me two samples of this, so I decided to give it a wear today. To me, this smells like Musc Ravageur with some oud added. Me likey! Unfortunately this doesn’t come in a 50ml bottle, so I must save up to buy me bottle. In case anyone is wondering, Oud Saved the Queen also smells divine. These are the only two from Atkinsons that really impressed me.
Xeroxksqbr – :
I am guessing that they must have saved the Oud when designing this formula. I get all suede and sandalwood – nice, but barely any oud.
