Nobel trees seem to have a spirit and a soul, an energy drawn from the Earth that radiates, comforts and protects. OUD develops within the heartwood of these trees. A process that can be compared to an Oyster making a pearl. It happens rarely, very rarely. Which is why OUD is more costly than gold. Its perfume is uniquely rich, deep, strong and intense. It must be used carefully, and by very skilled perfumers to be kept from overpowering the fragrance notes it is blended with. OUD DU JOUR is a Masters creation, where its many ingredients are seamlessly integrated with the rich OUD into a magnificent, soft and sunny perfume. It remains a beautiful and discreet companion all day long, without either overwhelming nor disappearing.
Oud du Jour by Amouroud is a fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. Oud du Jour was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Claude Dir. Top notes are pink pepper, raspberry and saffron; middle notes are incense, rose, lily-of-the-valley and dried plum; base notes are agarwood (oud), black amber, patchouli and guaiac wood.

A bright sophisticated Oriental gourmand. This is a nicely blended, delicious, and happy perfume which opens with notes of raspberry, pink pepper and saffron before it moves to a brief heart comprising of rose, incense, plum and lily of the valley. The perfume finally settles into a dense powdery base which showcases the Oud surrounded with ambergris, patchouli, amber and guaiac wood. Oud purists, please note, this is not a Oud centered fragrance. The Oud is there but primarily in the drydown and is overwhelmed by the other gourmand accords. Unisex (slight feminine leaning) with moderate sillage/projection and very good longevity. Enjoy!
SANY_BLOC – :
This scent has some arabic character but it is NOT an oud fragrance. It is strong but not a beast, its projection is above the average but not heavy and.. I’ve smelt this before.
If you want to know how it smells, try the
Armaf Shades Wood if you like this Armaf, try its expensive brother. The similarity is amazing, 95% with these differences :
1 it doesn’t feel overly synthetic and harsh like the Armaf (but it does feel a common designer scent, cheap smell).
2 it is smoother and better blended (but still is cloying for my nose)
3 it has better longevity than the Armaf.
There is no oud here so don’t worry about this. Oud du Jour is a much better version of Armaf Shades Wood and more wearable made with better quality ingredients.

Opens up with a sharp synthetic sweet smell which can be anything but not oud. The good thing is that it does not smell bad even if the real oud is missing in it. I opened the box in the library with a female classmate and she, for some reason, loved it. It smells better on the clothes after a while. On the skin, it is more irritating and it reminds me of my Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra male which I gave away to my classmate some years ago since she liked it.

Opens with a strange & sharp (synthetic saffron + pink pepper) burnt rubber (synthetic oud + incense) accord mixed with the tangy sweet plum & raspberry, then it stays vastly linear with the lingering tire-shop smell + raspberry & saffron, almost tapping into Tuscan Leather (or more correctly, “Tuscan Incense”) category. Least favorite of the 4 I tried.

This is a very mild oud fragrance. It is really well done and as the name suggests it is something you can wear during the day. The sillage is ok for the office environment and longevity is outstanding. Easily 12 hours plus on this one.
Great presentation too. The glass bottle is heavy and the velvet pouch is just so luxurious. A well pleased customer here. My rating 4.5/5

Beautiful. A masterpiece. Rich, strong, intense, yet soft and sublimely sensual. The flowers are there, delicate and gentle, and the whole is perfectly blended, to make me swoon with delight!!! And it lasts…….and lasts…………Happy me!!!!! I LOVE it.
