Description
Fragrance Du Bois is a niche luxury perfume house born from the richest essences of nature, crafted by fifth generation perfumers from the 17th century French traditions of Grasse. All Du Bois fragrances are created using 100% pure, organic Oud oil and other sustainably-sourced ingredients.
Oud Bleu Intense is given vitality with
notes of sea breeze and mountain air. Rich, complex notes of woods and spices make this fragrance a dreamy spiritual experience for the senses. A unique spicy harmony of hand-picked cardamom, nutmeg and mandarin in the top notes, infused with intoxicating frankincense, myrrh essence and warm amber in the heart. The nuances of exotic Oud then rise, complementing a rich and long-lasting base of resins and sweet myrrh. Oud Bleu Intense was launched in 2013. The nose behind this fragrance is Guillaume Flavigny.

There’s something special about the quality of resins used in the building of this formula that makes the wearer feel intellectual, smart, while simultaneously giving off a feeling of freedom, carefree, bohemian beauty.
Oud Bleu Intense is like reading a good book of poems , the orange laced in cardamon portrays images of exotic places, like getting lost in the Mediterranean watching a summer sunset while breathing refreshing aromas of growing fig trees by the sea, succumbing by the exoticism of one of nature’s greatest olfactory treasures “oud”.
But this is well polished 100% organic agar, the kind that doesn’t shout out loud, instead, it shares the composition with the balsams that for some mysterious reason, deliver an amber/blue scent profile, fascinating.

…and this is what happens when you don’t screen the clients. This stuff is wimpy. Fragrance Du nothing is what i call it. In reality, I don’t mind if a fragrance is pretentiously priced. That’s water under a high bridge and I can boogie! Give me a reason to buy your stuff is all I ask. Bleu intense is a faux warm, spicy and resinous perfume. A sweet, golden and lightly resinous amber accord forms the foundation of this perfume along with a smooth cardamon, tenable styrax and a modicum of myrrh and labdanum. Spicy olibdanum is the heart of the perfume, smoothed by natural amber and a very light addition of nutmeg and orange. The golden threads of amber and top notes of citrus peel provide a bright contrast to this overall “fragrant blah”. Shoulder shrug.

Spicy and not oud.
Cardamom, nutmeg, & myrrh. It has huge doses of styrax, mate, and amber, olibanum is there as well but there isn’t any clear oud.
It is spicy rather than oud fragrance as amber is there as well but it’s not amber based as well, and the orange isn’t the dominant as it shown in here by votes.
It’s ok for a fragrance, but it supposed to be less in price than the ones with more oud notes from the same house.

An amazing and unique aquatic oud scent! You can literally see the color blue when you smell this fragrance. If you are looking for a high quality summer oud scent, this one could be your grail. Very well done!

The opening is intensely masculine and far too fruity-citrus, but once past this phase, the dry down is absolutely incredible and definitely worth waiting for.
While I do get a “sense” of oud, it definitely is not the barnyard I’ve experienced with some I’ve sampled. For me, the base is mostly a creamy amber/sandalwood. I have no idea if this is a true grey amber or if the sandalwood is a true Mysore, but whatever it is, it works for me, and lasts about 8-10 hours.

i was given a 15mls decant of this. wearing it for the first time today. its subtle but very beautiful. but its too expensive for me. maybe ill use up my decant and let it be a distant memory

It’s funny the perfumer threw in every resin imaginable, yet the result is a simple spiced citrus with a warm base (I prefer Rive d’Ambre)–not resinous at all.
I’m tired of this pretentious Roja-wannabe brand. They keep talking about their oud but WHERE IS IT? With barely a drop in each fragrance, the asking price is nonsensical. Luxury is often based on pretty packaging and artificial demand, and they have clearly done that. Please don’t buy into it…so far my favorite Oud Noir Intense, which is not noir (more like grey) and not intense (although pretty nice), is still reminiscent of Tom Ford and the much cheaper Aedes de Venustas.

This has orange written all over it. Opens up with a realistic orange and the aromatic cardamom added with a little spiciness may be from the nutmeg. Soon the dry and resinous amber and woodsy oud kicks in with some other notes which I can’t pin point. The scent remains the same throughout with orange being the prominent note and all other notes complimenting the fragrance perfectly.
Smell : excellent, simple and elegant . Classy
Blend : all notes are extremely well blended
Occassion : casual / office wear
Projection : moderate ( won’t choke out )
Longevity : good (8+ hours)
Worthiness : excellent scent but not worth the price tag
Rating :7/10

Oh Yes!
A very nice wallop of Sandalwood. It opens with a blast of Citrus and Boozy Oud Medicine. That burns off quick and what remains is a Rosy Sandalwood heightened by the Juniper and non sweet custard of Amber and light Musk. Very plush and to my mind Feminine. Easily worn by a man
however on my woman it really shines.

Fragrance Du Bois only sells their perfume strictly after a consultation. I was recommended to this, I thought it was a too girly.
However, on my body, I brought out the amber, nutmeg and sandalwood really strong. I prefer this perfume over Oud Noir Intense, but over 3hrs later, this perfume gave in to Oud Noir, and Oud Noir started smelling better.
Used on my sister, it gave off a very sweet smell but didn’t last long on her. This perfume gave in to Oud Jaune on her body. That might not be the same for you.
Their perfume is extremely long lasting due to the low alcohol content, very gentle sillage and not overpowering. I have been getting a lot of compliments even from strangers, wanting to know what I am using.
For anyone intending to buy their perfumes, please go to their boutiques for a consultation.
Definitely good money well spent.
