I got a sampler set from Il Profvmo Italy less than 2 years ago for the express purpose of testing Musc Bleu. At that time it was a cyclamen, ylang ylang & cool musk scent–youthful, modern, uniquely lovely. Cyclamen is an unusual and fresh floral note that made the blend something quite special.
In its latest iteration, according to the company website, MB is now neroli, geranium, white sandalwood, and musk. It’s not surprising that now that its floral notes are the two most overused in perfumery, women are wondering why they should hand over large sums of money for it. If you can get hold of some MB from a few years ago, and you like the idea of a scent that says beautiful young woman dedicated to a cerebral pursuit such as art history, mathematics or even devout religious study, then you will understand what the fuss was about.
    Reformulation! Bah! Humbug!

I appreciated this fragrance when I had it – it’s clean, soapy, floral and musky. Very versatile and always pleasant. It’s basically a standard white musk. But now that I know there are better/similar white musks out there in the form of attars (perfume oils) for the fraction of this price, I find this musk flagrantly overpriced. The following perfumes offer a similar effect while not breaking the bank:
Royal White Musk (Abdul Karim Al Faransi)
    Sonia (Rasasi)
    Musk Tahara (Surrati)
Body Musk (Abdul Samad Al Qurashi)
    Sogni D’oro (Alkemia)
    White Musk (Swiss Arabian)

Soft, clean and soapy musk! Wears close to the skin but extremely long lasting. I put it on my wrists in the morning, wore a long-sleeved jacket and was typing throughout the day with my wrists pressed against a desk, and could still smell it afterwards. This is not pretty to me – there is no sweetness and does not suggest any beautiful fantasies. It is non-offensive and simple.

Musc Bleu is a clean musk I can get behind. It is invigorating and comforting and lasts for aaaaages on the skin.
The fragrance is like a thick, expensive bar of white soap, but coupled with woods and scrubbed-clean musk notes it feels stylish and updated compared to white musks of the past. I see opaque light blue and white colors when I inhale.
I don’t know how often I would wear Musc Bleu, but for someone who craves a brisk, laundry clean scent without a lick of citrus, this one is absolutely worth a try.

    Natural Musk? Yay, what else?
Leaving ironies apart, the lasting power of this one is extreme. And it has nothing to do with Jovan Musk. It is more like a fancier, more atmospheric version of Alyssa Ashley Musk. Laundry musk with some ozonic notes. It is very pleasant and extremely long lasting, but even so I find it to be seriously overpriced.

For me this fragrance is very appropriately named. When I smell it blue immediately comes to mind, although I think that’s because it’s reminiscent of blue Dawn dishwashing liquid. It’s quite nice and not nearly as powdery as other white musks I’ve tried.

Their version of a White Musk, in the Jovan style. In the world of white musks this does not really stand out. It is sweet and clean. Nothing “bleu” about it, from what I can tell, because it smells like pure white musk. Longevity is very good, but sillage is super low. Nice, but I’d say for the price there are many other white musks to choose from.

Laundry, bar soap, a freshly cleaned hotel room – this is all of those things. It also manages to be cozy and warm the way snuggling up under freshly laundered bedding can be.
It smells good, it really does, but I just can’t imagine paying to smell like Ivory soap all day. If you want to capture the subtle scent of clean, warm skin and harness it for use all day, this is your holy grail. If strong perfumes give you headaches but you still want to smell appealing when giving and receiving hugs, or if you think you don’t like perfumes at all… sample it. It’s like the smell of a newborn baby; it’s hard not to like.

Great smelling straight up laundry musk that collapses into a minimalistic skin scent within hours and is nearly undetectable a couple hours later.
Why this is compared to the much more complex, aldehydic iris powder bomb of Serge Lutens Clair de Musc, I’m not sure. Yes, they are both white musks but upon comparison Musc Bleu might as well be a solinote fragrance. There is no evolution of scent, it is rather one dimensional and dare I say: basic.

This white musk is very clean.
Reminds me a little bit the laundry but pleasant.
His power is in his longevity for that kind of frag.
Simply clean, beautiful. Can’t go wrong with that !

I received a sample from Lucky Scent and fell in love with this one… so clean and yet deep as well. It lasts quite a while on me which is no small feat. Looking forward to my bottle coming soon!

This is the epitome of clean musk. Soft, billowy, light. I disagree with the reviewers who don’t think this is laundry like. I find it very laundry fresh, not in the typical way though. This is line dried laundry, not warm baked laundry. This would definitely layer very well. Awesome for those who don’t want a dirty or skanky musk. Very inoffensive. Highly recommend! I will be adding a FB to my collection as soon as I run out of my NR Musc Intense.

A floral opening; then a clean, crisp, yet soft soapy dry-down that lasts for hours. delicate, soft, inoffensive musk, yet one that keeps me coming back.

This is a very clean, soft yet not at all wimpy, crisp, soapy white musk scent that is a very safe bet for anyone who enjoys a clean musk without any hint of skank. It is a more grown up and refined version of white musk than the typical WM scents I have tried, including Serge Lutens Clair. While I absolutely adore SL, I have to admit, while I love it very much, it is like an expensive version of the Body Shop white musk and has terrible staying power. This has a soapy, clean linen scent that is perfect for spring and summer. Not something I would normally choose for fall/winter.
What I like about this is that the musk is noticeable and not hidden behind the other notes. That happens far too often for me…I am wanting MUSK but I end up with flowers. If I wanted flowers I will choose flowers…when I want musk, I expect musk. And I get my white musk fix with this without too much distracting from it. Which is exactly what I want…and exactly what you get with Musc Bleu.
There is a Musc Bleu Absolu version and it does hold the scent longer as it is an oil. The scent builds with a little time, it is rather faint when you first apply it but within half hour you get the full effect and it is rather long lasting for a white musk.
This is one of my favorite white musks of all time as there is absolutely nothing to not like about it other than maybe the price.

This is a very pleasant soft and clean musk. No skank here and no sharp laundry edge.
Instead it smells all like a concentarted luxury version of yellow Baby shampoo Johnson for the first 30 minutes. A little obnoxious but not annoying, then it settles to musky tones, clean and expensive your-skin-but-better. It’s a feminine kind of musk and even a little childish, but innocent and sensual at same time. Anyway IMO it didn’t stand up to its big pricetag.

One of the more expensive perfumes I have bought, even reduced I walked out of the shop only to return an hour later, I just had to have it. It has an oily feeling on my skin (could this be one of the reasons it lasts so well?) Its beautiful muskyness is so much nicer than the Musk I remembered from childhood in 1970’s, its more than that, its deeper with a hint of old moss roses, combination works well, can still smell on the skin the next day, it has lasted well as a little goes a long way, one of my favourites.

It’s funny…..I hear people all the time ask for recommendations for a just out of the shower scent but if it has a soapy feel to it they shout nooooo!!!!! It’s quite the oxymoron, yes? Nevertheless as people we like what we like.
Enter Musc Bleu. She starts out soapy. Period. Here’s the thing…..this kind of soap isn’t something you find just anywhere. It smells like cleanness from the lap of luxury. This is the kind of soap you find in the chalets that most of us can’t afford to visit but instead just read about. There’s nothing cheap smelling in Musc Bleu. In fact to me she is the epitome of discreet wealth.
As she warms up on your skin she takes on a radiance that’s breathtaking. It’s a bit innocent at first yes, but after a little while it brings forth a depth that’s extraordinarily sexy. It literally makes your very skin draw people in for compliments. It’s very much like a man’s white shirt being worn by a dishelved woman……the next morning. It adds that beautiful ethereal depth to whatever you decide to layer it with as well.
Musc Bleu was born to layer~but she also does magnificently on her own. She belongs to no one that she doesn’t choose~just like the woman who wears her. She’s deceptively strong and independant in her pillow like softness.
For me she expresses the same sort of tone as an alto sax. Clean, beautiful, and yet she can be taken in so many different directions. She’s a miracle of a White Musc!

(This review is for Eau de Perfume)
Clean, soapy and light, MUSC BLEU is inoffensive and safe white musk. The musk is discreet, graceful and beautiful in this scent but a bit too shy. The soapy accent neutralizes the animalistic and sensual side of the musk in this perfume in my humble opinion. It is like being on a spa retreat in very relaxed atmosphere with hypoallergenic white sheets, soft light, comfortable furniture and white candles. This scent conveys the feeling of purity, cleanliness and relaxation to me.
The beginning smells like a nice and luxurious bar of soap. The musk notes come through and mingle with the soapy scent. The ylang-ylang and geranium create a classic floral bouquet in the heart notes. The floral notes are softened by the musk. The soapy accent still dominates the scene in the heart notes. The dry down is the best part of this fragrance. The soapy notes are finally gone and I am left with subtle, gentle and chic white musk.
The scent stays close to the skin but lasts for a long time. I would recommend this scent for those who prefer white, gentle musk and do not mind soapy scents.

I, too, became excited from the review on Lucky Scent so I ordered two samples. I am glad I did because this is a lovely, everyday second skin scent. I can understand how it can smell like a cheap, drugstore musk, but it’s a lot more complex than that and simply intoxicating. Complex AND Simple. Hm…and this is why I like it so much. It is a bit pricey but one person on Lucky scent suggested a less expensive alternative in Kiehl’s Original Musk. However, side by side OM is much more dirty and on the heavy side. Musc Bleu is a lot more baby powdery and soapy; a clean white musk.

This musk is a skin-scent, the idea – of course – being old-fashioned, but the construction of this fragrance is rather clever. Flowers on a bed of musky notes – a quiet and discreet perfume which mingles with your own body-odour producing a very natural effect. It is really pleasant and clean, staying power is excellent, although it does not project very well and stays close to the skin.

This is my favorite clean scent–one that I discovered after a great deal of searching. Lucky Scent suggested Musc Bleu, and I’m so glad they did. I turn to this when I want to smell clean and soapy. I used to wonder how some people could smell like they’d just had a bath in the middle of a work day, and now I know. It’s their perfume. I disagree that this is just another musk; most musks are at best boring. This is remarkably sweet and clean, and I do get some florals. This isn’t grocery store soap; it’s French milled and it’s delish.

This perfume started with a big no-no!
It smelled of cheap shampoo from the 80s. Fairly strong and a bit annoying. Luckily, it calmed down, but now … to a cheap old perfume …. musk perfume.
Okay … It gets better and better but not enough in my eyes.
In the end it remains a no for me.

Soft and clean and pretty. I like this one, but definitely not enough to make me spend $125.

True, it’s only a musk. But if you like musk, you will enjoy this one. If you love musk, you will adore this one! Beautifully blended indeed, graceful, fine and tasteful, it slips on like a second skin. In fact it makes your skin very sexy and loveable! There are some dainty, but delightful floral accords chiming through and oh my, it does last!

Yup – soap. Dry, musky, white musk, with no sweetness. Okay, if that’s what you want. Lasts well. Still, it’s awfully expensive for a bar of soap in a bottle. Also try: Ivory. I would not wear this as a woman, much better for a man.
Update, two days later: I want to add this this does have AMAZING staying power – in that sense it’s worth the money if you love it. I put it on my hand and wrist to test, and not only washed my hands a few times but had two showers and I could still smell it! Good thing it’s pleasant.

After sampling at least 10 differently highly-recommended white musk type niche scents from several different places, this was the clear winner.
It is an elegant and gorgeous scent, and unlike any other white musk scent I’ve tried. To me, it is the feminine version of SL Clair de Musc, which I find wears a bit too masculine on me. Musc Bleu is a masterfully blended soapy, slightly sweet, elegant white floral musk. It is a scent that feels like wearing a cashmere sweater while lazing on a chaise lounge reading your favorite book. It stays close to the skin yet wears for about 6 – 8 hours.
    A white musk masterpiece.
