I had it some years ago and gave away. Strong wet gardenia jumps right on you from a big greenish something, grabs you and holds, holds, holds like forever… Definitely good natural oils used in here 🙂 Royal is the right name, there is something unapologetic and a bit arrogant in it. Strong and straight to the point.
That was my pick for a full bottle around 8-10 years ago when I tried many samples looking for a perfect gardenia scent. I was too right-in-your-face, ambitious and impatient. Times have definitely changed and perfume choices obviously reveal the wearer. And now looking at my new favourite gardenia/white floral Terracotta Le parfum by Guerlain which is easy going, sheer, pretty and more approachable I’ve suddenly realised getting older can be a really good thing 😀

At my local niche perfumery the Il Profvmo range is not being continued and the existing stock is being sold at 30% discount so I thought this was a perfect moment to repurchase a Musc Bleu and also try some of the other perfumes I was less familiar with.
This gardenia Royale, for instance. Someone here writes it is similar to EL Tuberose Gardenia, I don’t agree. EL is so much better because of the orange flower.
Adiro mentions peach, and that’s exactly what I’m getting! The opening is very floral but shortlived, the drydown is a musky-peachy skincent. Compared to EL the longevity is much shorter, only 3-4 hours and sillage is fine only the first 30 minutes, after that it gets very weak. It’s a lovely gardenia perfume if you don’t want a loud, heavy perfume. I do like my perfumes to be loud.
To compare I sprayed Musc Bleu on one wrist and Gardenia Royale on the other, now 4 hours later the Gardenia has disappeared but the Musc is still going strong!
I will definitely not be going back to buy this!

I have had this for a couple of years now, but somehow it ended up at the end of my closet, and I forgot about it. Now spring is coming, weather is warming up and I found RF again! It is an incredibly beautiful cocktail of white flowers, with gardenia, tuberose and a bit of jasmine easy to distinguish. For some reason on me it also has a fruity peachy vibe, don’t know where. It is coming from. Is is not soapy at all, but somehow juicy and creamy, a bit “wet” . Lasting power is great, indeed the osmo technology works well, and the projection is at least medium, without being a bomb. Really one of the best from Il Profumo line 🙂

The opening is light, pretty and soapy on me, followed by a biting whack of jasmine which reminds me so much of Pleasures by Estee Lauder for a split second. Incredibly light gardenia, more a hint of their waxy scent than the true flower for me, probably due to the heavy dollop of tuberose and peony (which is beautiful with the ever so faint gardenia). Perfect for spring, hm, fifteen minutes later I am getting the soapy fresh vibe again. Edit – the drydown is having the same effect on me as Pleasures, unfortunately. A headache 🙁 I really need t go and compare the notes now as they are both pretty, pretty florals but something in them just doesn’t like my noggin. Will give it one more go, maybe tomorrow for work.

Il Profvmo Gardenia Royal, is a beautiful white floral blend, similar in style and composition to Estee Lauder’s Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia. I love the both of them equally.
Although fresh and flowery, it has a slightly aggressive bite. In the opening especially, Gardenia Royal is quite loud and sharp. The overall scent is soapy and clean, rather than naturally green and dewy.
The gardenia, tuberose and jasmine create a smooth, innocent bouquet, however the peony adds more definition by giving it a slightly sour quality. I usually detest peony, however when blended skilfully and present in small doses, it can be just as majestic as a red rose.
Some reviewers have found this fragrance cloying and heavy. My only word of advice would be to apply Gardenia Royal with a light hand. I’m wearing just one spray right now, and I find the projection pleasant as is.
The musk in the heart and drydown makes Gardenia Royal smell a little bit like laundry powder. It’s not necessarily unpleasant, and I admittedly like the way it smells, however some people may find it off-putting. It’s not technically gardenia in this composition, and many have noted this too. I find it more clean and simplistic with a blend of indistinguishable white florals.
Gardenia Royal proved to be a wonderful discovery for me. It’s what I reach for when I want something clean yet noticeable. It compliments my skin perfectly and I feel very comfortable wearing it. I highly recommend.

This scent only whispers gardenia, but announces its royalty with great panache. What an elegant and stately fragrance of white flowers. Not too loud, nor sweet, nor synthetic, nor narcotic. Perfection.

Candy! It’s sweet, tart flowers, sheer but marked and definitely a wonderful scent for Spring or summer. Lovely and happy.

How can anything smell so wonderful? The osmo absolute (oil) blends into the skin smelling heavenly gardenia in the beginning and musky at the end of the day. Definitely the best gardenia ever.

very strong sheer gardenia and jasmine.
pretty floral, very longlasting!
