I had written a review earlier when I had the perfume on under 30 minutes. For those who don’t know, this is a GEL. that’s OK. However, do not be fooled. This is very strong, and on me, it lasted over 8 hours. Even when I woke up this morning, there were remnants. Hard to even wash off, and my skin is fairly dry.
Sadly, even though there is a lot of the ORIGINAL Oscar smell present, it evolved into more of a scent like TABU, which for me lays very heavy.
Lucky for me this was a low risk buy, so I’m not angry about the whole thing. For me, it was a blind buy and I was going by the notes that were listed as the most dominant above. Heavy like Tabu, but still with Oscar in it. That is what it is on me, anyhow. Use VERY little to test. Don’t let the fact that it is a gel fool you. Right now, I have put a little on paper in my office to see how it will change on the paper. I already know how it changes on my skin. I’ll probably end up giving it away. Sad for me.

I just put this perfume on, it has not been longer than 30 minutes, yet. I am getting a heavy wood scent, simailar to the Schzeido scents . I see on the list of ‘notes based on your votes’ that clove is listed as one of the main notes according to the views. I’m hoping that it blossoms on me because I love clove. It is hard to find in women’s perfumes. Right now, I’m not sure how I feel about this scent, but I can see the gel factor as being a plus, and it does go on strong. Right now I feel like it’s a vintage kind of smell, with some of the Oscar coming through the woodiness. It’s a start, though. I’ll be keeping it at my office to test it on myself different times of the day. More later, hope I end up liking it, even though it was very inexpensive.

A classic without aldehydes, well blended and timeless, soapy floral with a hint of spice. I like to dab it lightly to my wrists and spread the gel up my arms. I think Oscar Celebration is an easy introduction to classic scents for someone younger, or a pleasant addition if you are looking for nostalgia, in a very beautiful bottle.

Hm. I used to have “Oscar” in the eighties, so I thought to make a safe bet to buy this one blind. Wrong wrong wrong. This “celebration” version smells very bad on my skin. Is it the combination of the cloves and the jasmin that reminds me of, eh, excrements? The Original Oscar is a lovely feminine rich and deep scent. This weird gel (in a lovely bottle) is nothing like it. Pity.

I have had this in storage for a couple years and finally decided to try it. The gel blew my mind, wasn’t sure what to do at first. The perfume is typically Oscar, non offensive but not an earth shaker. The price is cheap so it is a good choice for a go to perfume.

wow! An almost exact copy of the original Oscar de la Renta released in the 80’s. Application is in gel form – I was expecting spray. It is not a big deal – will just take a bit longer to get through. Top notes are really strong but after about 30 mins it softens and the close to original Oscar comes through. This is supposed to be a softer version of the original and it is. Sillage is moderate to strong and has good longevity like the original. If you are a fan of the original, you should like Celebration.

This is my first venture into Oscar land. First surprise as people have said is that this is a gel. Kind of hard to figure out how to put it on and to know how much you are putting on. Still it seems pretty inoffensive to me anyway. It is floral with predominance of ylang ylang which gets a bit more rosy. Then settles into quite a light fabric conditioner kind of vibe. Yet it does retain a purity and a clarity that is most unlike lenor. It is long lasting but linear. Pleasant, cheerful and clean. Just enough amber and coriander to give it body and staying power.
PIZZADOX – :
My first disappointment in Oscar. First of all it’s very similar to the original one, and second, it turned out that this EDT is in a gel form that you have to dab on. I think this version is all about the bottle because it is simply gorgeous. I am returning this one because the seller didn’t mention it was not a spray bottle, and dabbing is too much of a rocket science for me because it’s hard to figure out when it’s overdone or not enough.

Pretty good version of Oscar. Rich soapy Clove – yang-yang – incredibly real iris and rose with a hint of old times. Like looking through an art-nouveau vitrage and seeing a beginning of a love story.

it is a lovely perfume very close to the original, but not quite. What is missing? I think it is the creamy white flowers and the peach. It doesn’t last as long either but it does last 3 or 4 hours. I do like it quite a bit not it not the same as the original Oscar de la Renta and I am disappointed. It is not as soapy as the first one either. I should have looked closer at the notes. It is priced very well and it is a nice gelee, but I have worn the other for so long that I will go back to it. It might work well for some offices though since it does not have the silage of the original. All in all not a bad fragrance but it is not the gelee form of Oscar de la Renta.
