“A slightly sweet and powdery exotic musk with hints of jasmine and tonka”. So states the brief description of Oriental Musk on the Ava Luxe website. No other notes are listed.
There is a high concentration of oils in this perfume, because it leaves a nice sheen on my skin. Just what oils are they? I do not know. It is powdery, yes and more than slightly sweet. It smells to me like a cappuccino milkshake. Musk? Where? And jasmine…no, not coming through the powder and coffee. Maybe tonka mixed with jasmine creates this curious cappuccino effect.
If it is musk, it is a very, very white musk. I am tempted to say it smells like Alyssa Ashley Musk (which is not true musk to me) topped off with a minuscule spritz of Tom Ford Cafe Rose (if you leave out the rose). The far, far drydown is just a powdery coffee skin scent. This is not what I was hoping for from a musk fragrance; I am not a fan of coffee in my perfumes. It is not unpleasant, but it is just not me.
Longevity is about 6 hours and sillage is medium.
