Description

The newest fragrance by Jean-Louis Scherrer is named One Love, launched in March 2015. The fragrance is inspired by Parisian women and is dedicated to all those who possess a natural elegance and sensuality.

The elegant composition is warm and sensual, leaving a velvety trail on the skin, covered with a powdery-green perfume veil. The fragrance opens with a combination of bergamot, lemon, violet leaf, mimosa and saffron. Its warm, seductive heart that includes iris, lilac, magnolia and woods is laid on a base of vetiver, oak moss and ambrette seed.

The bottle of the new fragrance was created in accordance the architectural preferences of Jean-Louis Scherrer, with straight, clean lines like his fashion creations. The bottle was designed by Thierry de Baschmakoff, who modeled it after the pillars of the Royal Palace.

The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum, along with body lotion and shower gel of 150 ml.

Smells, to me, like some kind of air freshener.
The violet & lilac are indeed at the forefront as voted, the lemon and mimosa clash with the violet in the top and it doesn’t work for me. I get no oak moss, magnolia or woods. I smell heliotrope, though not listed.
Overall a sweet and powdery scent.
Smells somewhat similar to elderflower juice from IKEA.
The bathroomy, air freshener component/character is a real turn off for me.
It improved slightly into the dry down but still felt undesirable, so I added a drizzle of Al REHAB’s White Full on top and it improved immensely.
Leaves it in the realm of The Body Shop’s Moringa range.
Something here just doesn’t sit right with me and I don’t believe I should need to add a cheap jasmin oil on top just to make a relatively crap perfume smell better. Not at all keen on this, personally.

When it gets to the mid notes — it strongly reminds me of vintage Yardley Oh! de London… the floral notes to be exact: clover, chamomile, ylang (mimosa in this case) and sandalwood — oh also something lactonic. Love it.

It is a very elegant, classy, floral, green fragrance. I very like it. Great longevity and sillage and in the same time soft and calming. Sometimes it smells like freshly washed laundry, sometimes it smells like a floral garden, sometimes it smells like a field with full of flowers and green grass. Very nice perfume.

The Magnolia and Iris mean business. Extremely long-lasting. I sprayed myself before bed and the scent was lighter but still there the next morning. I was hoping that the dry-down would express the green/woody/mossy notes, but on me, the florals wont quit. Gorgeous, if you love strong, unique florals.

This is a lovely, soft floral fragrance, slightly green and mossy. It’s quite fresh without the astringency usually associated with that genre. I feel like I’ve entered a flower garden at the first spray. I think this is a delightful fragrance considering it’s one of the moderns.

Dernier opus de la maison Scherrer, ce One Love ( bof, pas terrible le nom) est une création très agréable, résolument sensuelle, avec un équilibre réussi entre le cœur floral et les notes boisées.

I got a sample of this with a perfume order. Never saw it in a store and never heard of it before, so I decided to wear it around the house yesterday. One Love is very feminine and grown up. Floral and very powdery, I mostly smell iris, maybe a bit of violet. The powdery scent is quite long lasting, I didn’t really get to the woody notes in the base, it’s really a lipstick/makeup kind of iris note all day to me. Not very sweet and a bit dry, but for some reason also refreshing, maybe that’s the lemon and bergamot. It’s a cool scent, not a warm one.
Overall One Love is not my kind of perfume, as I’m not a big fan of powdery florals, but if you love these kind of fragrances, you should try it.

It came in the post today and in the beginning I was like “I am not wearing this” because the first hour the scent is extremely sharp and green and the violet dominates entirely for some minutes there, but when it calms down and the oakmoss got to do its job it is marvelous.
If you are a fruity patchouly perfume lover you will hate this, if you do not I think you should sample it.

This has definitely lots of punch, the green notes are very strong, and there is the saffron also, personally, I don’t care for it, but for lovers of classy chypre, this is one to consider..the oakmoss and the vetiver tend to give it a dry sharp edge…hopefully the drydown will be smoother…the scent softens considerably, becoming more of a green floral, and disappearing quite fast.
I don’t know, there is a note attacking my nose in the top notes, and not in a good way…just too masculine, too much for me!!

    All classic perfume lovers will be interested to test it, me included. The green/powdery is my signiture and wil do whatever it takes to try and purchase, I don’t mind a blind buy in this case (;
