Description

Paco Rabanne launches a new feminine fragrance in August 2015 under the mythical name of Olympéa. Olympéa represents the equivalent of the masculine edition Invictus from 2013, inspired by the athletic spirit, competition and victory.

The concept is based on the idea of a modern Greek goddess and evokes strength, dynamism and conquests. The perfume is developed by Loc Dong and Anne Flipo. Its both salty and floral compositions is characterized as fresh oriental, opening with sparkling green mandarin, aquatic notes of water jasmine and fiery ginger lily, with salted vanilla in the heart. The base notes are sandalwood, cashmere and ambergris.

The face of the perfume is Brazilian model Luma Grothe. The bottle is shaped like a laurel crown, designed by Marc Ange. The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum.
Olympea was created by Loc Dong, Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion.

I almost hated it at start, but after 3h it’s gotten so lovely but barely detectable. Shame. I was not impressed by the offensive ginger and strong vanilla. I think, the two just overpowered everything else for 3h making it very one-dimensional and boring, but then salt and cashmere turned up and it became absolutely gorgeous, alas very close to the skin to really enjoy it. It’s a real shame, could have been a very unique perfume but I just cant take the headache inducing mixture of vanilla and ginger.

Funny, but the reason why I got Olympea was Invictus. I even thought to wear men’s cologne, that awkward sweetened marine note is my thing lately. How I was happy to know that Olympea got it!
I was cautious about jasmine like everything floral, but Olympea has creamy fictional jasmine cooled up in ice, this time it has won over me. Generally speaking, this is simplistic composition and perfume is rather clear and clean than stuffy. Well…I am always wearing just 1 spray, because 2 sprays already make an insane projection. Overspraying and layering could be the reason of bad reactions.

From my point of view, for this fragrance, there should be the “Like and I do not like” button. Yes, I confirm it: my nose has perceived the invictus but has also perceived a mix between J’adore and Hypnotic Poison (although these two are clearly superior). It has no originality other than to draw a little of everything from the perfumes mentioned above. It is not a Perfume to forget but not even a perfume to remember urgently … I close my eyes and I drown in a real sea of salty vanilla. For me it is an NOES. A color for this perfume: Ivory. A state of mind: Sweet. An imaginary celebrity: Cupid.

This stuff smells awesome on my girlfriend but too much of it makes me sick. A little goes a long way, in my opinion

  5. :

In my opinion a very overrated and borderline overwhelming scent. Scent-wise, bottle-wise, advertise-ment wise i find it very tacky. I’m not a sensitive person when it comes to scents and I love a hearty scent with good sillage, but this perfume is suffocatingly sweet and musky. It smells similar to many youthful celebrity perfumes aiming at an adult audience. The vanilla comes off synthetic and overpowering and the overall image of the fragrance is very unattractive to me. I have met a couple of people that love this but each to their own.

Cashmere Wood with vanilla. Catchy:) But it’s not my favorite from this direction.

It really grew on me. I did’n like it at first cause i thought it was boring but as i started wearing it for the first time, not just spraying once on my hand and hoping for the gods of olympus to come to me. It’s such a great scent, fresh, vanilla and salty, it just takes me to early september walks by the beach in the village where i grew up, when there weren’t as many tourists as in the summer, it is a bit chilly outside and the weaves hit the shore and the salt can be felt in the air. It’s just devine and nostalgic for me. It’s my signature scent now, I even spray this before sleeping. I love it!!!!

Favourite perfume. Very powerful and feminine, a unique deep mysterious scent. Lasts a long time and the bottle is devine. Has a feel of JPG Intense or a stronger Dior Jadore but with a creamy feel and the power of a Mugler scent. A creamy vanilla with a Jasmine, cashmerean wood. A very modern sexy scent. Adorable never leave the house without Olympia.

Honey? Why ppl always mentioning honey in all Olympea perfums? There is no honey in any of these…. i quite like the initial burst with refreshing ginger n salt vibe, its nice but weak projection close to skin scent, somehow „watery“ and disappeared unfortunately very quick from my skin to an ambery bland nothing when i tested it in the perfumestore. Thats why i tested the intense version the other day and surprise: Powerhouse and love at first sniff.

  10. :

I enjoy wearing this in cooler weather. Yes, it’s strong at first spritz but then it dries down to a gorgeous creamy/salty vanilla on me with the jasmine and woodiness in the background.
From reading other reviews, seems like it’s best to test it works with your skin before you buy. I feel lucky I can wear this and find it quite a luxury fragrance for its price.

I ve bought this in 2015, 2018 is almost over and i am only halfway thru a 30ml bottle, this is how hard it is for me to wear this, everytime i wear it i get compliments but i find it very hard to love this scent, the best thing about this scent is the salt, i feel like without it and the cashmere wood this would be like those old school vanilla+jasmine+amber perfumes that our grandmothers used to wear. I am trying to wear it to bed and i do find it quit comforting now that the bottle has aged and toned down a little bit,i think i shouldnt have bought this on first sniff.

    No. Just…no.
My skin and nose refuse to accept this one.
I usually have a hard time with jasmine and honey in any given fragrance and this is no exception.
I can’t stand the salinity from the salt and ambergris in Olympea. I think the only note I seem to enjoy here is the ginger, but it is so covered up I barely get any of it after the first hour.
    Not for me.

This is a dead ringer for Avon Far Away Infinity. Fluffy sweet vanilla, jasmine and a sandalwood base. It’s fine, and it kept the ubiquitous pink pepper out of it all, unlike a million other perfumes.

  14. :

Really wanted to like this one especially because of all the positive reviews.
Sprayed this and ‘caugh’ – the salt!
The salty note is so intense. It immediately went up my nose, down my throat and gave me a headache.
Now I’m not shy of salt. I grew up salt water fishing almost every summer with my father and I’ve used it to make homemade play dough. Heck! I even eat the darn thing!
But this? On me this salt is cloying and annoying. It dominates the caramel/vanilla. Tried to wash it off, but I can still smell it – darn!
This is that up in your face, I don’t care if you like it or not cloying and annoying salty scent. Again – ‘caugh’.
I really wish I could like this one.
Guess I’ll have to continue relying on Jessica Simpson’s Fancy for a sweet caramel fragrance.
Note: Please … do not purchase this as a blind buy.

Heavy and dont good any more. İ love lady million edp but when i spray olypmea i always dont like, hate. Sour, i think vanilla and Salt not get well with each other.

My review is based on a 7ml mini that came in a set with 3 other Paco fragrances.
The scent is floral, salty all wrapped in the sweetness of vanilla. I can smell a hint of ginger as it dries down. I think you can wear this almost anywhere you desire, I think its a nice unoffensive scent for the workplace but it also has a casual air to it (sea salt note possibly) where I can see myself heading to the beach with this.
On my skin, it lasts a work day (7-8 hours) but it is dying down to a skin scent closer to the end time.
I love the bottle and the name of the perfume, It calls to my inner Greek/Roman god/goddess geek 😀
I hope to buy the full size soon.

Is it a bit generic? Yeah.
Will it most likely be a bit dated in 10-15 years. Yup.
But, damn, this is one sexy little fragrance. I smell this and I think party nights, a nice fitting dress or skirt along with boots/heels and a shoulder revealing top. Along those lines I picture this scent’s target group to be a more around 20ish demographic.
However, I think there’s no reason why women of any age shouldn’t enjoy it as well. It is smooth, feminine, but also a tad bit naughty.
I would not be wearing this to office, meetings or dinner with the inlaws (or inlaws to be). To me this is clearly a casual party/summer event/date kind of fragrance.
The opening is still quite fruity, but that gives way to a nice creamy salted vanilla blend with clearly perceivable Jasmin and Sandalwood vibes in the background.
The salty note is definitely the deciding factor for its sexy appeal. I think some other reviewers here mentioned that it reminded them of sweat. Yeah, exactly. There’s definitely that hot sweaty vibe to it, but in a good way.
How harsh that note appears on you might have a lot to do, though, with your body chemistry. So better test it beforehand if you never had a fragrance with salty notes before.
So yeah, I do like this one, despite it most likely not being a timeless fragrance. Especially with its wide success I think it has a lot of potential to be be more the kind of fragrance, where in 20 years when smelling it people will say ‘Man, I remember wearing/smelling this one in the 2010s all the time.’ What a time!
Not a bad thing at all in my books.

  18. :

This is based on a 6ml mini.
I know that it’s not a very unique scent –there’re many perfumes that smell similar– but I can’t stop loving the scent. It’s sweet, elegant, creamy and warm. It opens freshly, and will develop into a warmer scent later. I like the crisp and saltiness of the drydown, it makes it not too sweet. Since I live in a tropical country, I feel like this fragrance would be more suitable to be worn inside an air-conditionered room or on rainy days. I can’t imagine wearing this outside when the days are hot; it’s too creamy it will give people headaches.
For the longevity, I don’t know exactly how long does it stay on my skin. After 6 hours of the first dab, I sniffed my wrist and didn’t smell anything. I thought the scent was gone already. However, when I went out to met my friends after that, they complimented me of how good I smell. It made me confused because I couldn’t smell anything. I guess this is the kind of scent that blends so well with my body chemistry to the point I can’t notice it anymore

This was my first blind buy and it is not a fit for me.
I almost like it but it doesn’t come together in a way that works for me. If the vanilla were stronger and warmer, the powder softer and the citrus lighter, it could have been a fit. But on me and to my nose, it is overly cooling and makes me want to sneeze.

  20. :

    5 out of 5

Smells like solar notes and cashmeran, the texture of the smell is quite grainy and rough. Some saltyness, some vanilla, some woods. The texture reminds me of Calvin Klein Reveal.

Tanay, on me Olympea is very long lasting !!!!!!!!!!!!! 8 hours-plus with moderate to strong projection. Far Away Infinity is a good replacement for this perfume, also long lasting though, on me, a softer (and much cheaper) proposition.

  22. :

    5 out of 5

I don’t know why it is still not one of the most popular fragrances in the market. I am from India and this perfume sits on my skin just fine. The sillage is great but the longevity (at least for me) not so much. I’m almost thirty and it’s been a while Ive been looking for a signature perfume. It needs to be subtle yet, a definite-compliment-getter. This one is all those things. I wear it work and one bottle of 50ml lasted me one whole year. I’m not complaining. I contemplated buying a second bottle, but I realized the overt fruity notes and lack of longevity are the deal-breaker for me. I am looking forward to settling down with something like Boss (Feminine), a complete office wear or maybe, Lancome (La vie est Belle) the female all-rounder. I’m yet to move away completely but, this perfume is not for a mature woman. It doesn’t smell BOSS (or authority). It’s best worn in winter but you’ll need to carry it around in your purse to spritz every few hours to make it go on. Nevertheless, it’s a great perfume.

I tested this today along with the intense version. This really is a pretty floral scent. The one one would wear with a flowey maxi dress and sandals and a wide sun hat. Be that as it may it doesn’t wow me. Just plays it safe. I have tried a couple of salty scents and so far the one that won’t be knocked of the pedestal is Mugler’s Womanity.

  24. :

Yummy yummy my mother tried it yesterday and I find it very sexy, sweet, salty vanilla sooo good! It is reminiscent of La Vie Est Belle and I like it a lot, it is perfect every time day/night, summer/winter, work/ private, it is not for young women (25+) and it is perfect for a woman who wants to be looked at!
I’m in love with Alien but this fragrance is in my mind and it could be my next purchase.

I wish I would get more salt out of this scent. It was all creamy vanilla and jasmine with a hint of citrus on me. It`s a nice fragrance, but nothing special, really. Sillage is moderate (2 spritzes on my neck and 1 on my wrist), but the longetivity is amazing – I could still smell it 14 hours later.

  26. :

    3 out of 5

What a nice combination of sea water and gourmand notes. Olympea starts like classic aquatic for men. With time it gets sweeter because of jasmine, sandalwood and vanilla. That way stays on my skin all day long. I get sometimes salty water note, but for the most part it’s sweet floral vanilla.

  27. :

    4 out of 5

I am completely surprised by how absolutely beautiful this perfume is. I get prominent vanilla, salt, and ambergris hovering over all of the other very well-blended notes. This beauty is a performance powerhouse with a moderate to huge sillage (depending on application); she leaves a gorgeous, subtle scent trail without overpowering. The value for this beautiful “summer in a bottle” scent is off the charts superb, I would have gladly paid three or four times what this gem is presently going for.
I love it so much that I just made Olympea my Summer signature.
Definitely worth a sniff, this beauty may very well sweep you off of your feet, too.
ETA: Though I’m in love with the fragrance, this bottle is absolutely gorgeous. The metal bits are rose-gold colored, far far prettier in person than images can adequately convey.

I 1st smelled this at Macy’s on a test strip and could’t stop smelling it. I liked it alot. Finally, a year later summer 2018 I bought it at Perfumania without smelling it again and now feeling Meh about it. Dislike the 1st spray but love the dry down

I got it as a gift and it was my first time encountering a salty note on a perfume. I like it, but so far, not enough to purchase it once it runs out. Let’s see if I can learn to love it…

Really love this! Think found my signature 🙂
I first tried this as was a free sample and immediately liked it but this was in winter December and found it harsh and strong. I then sampled this in July in perfume shop now in summer and omg this is amazing. It’s everything I wanted in a fragrance, sweet salty sea breeze in a bottle, luxury vacation ocean air with a vanilla ice cream. It then turns creamy and lightly floral which is fine by me as not keen on floral, then fades a powdery milky scent still with vanilla hints. The salt in this is just amazing. It also dosnt feel ovely girly or sweet like mkst fragrances as this had the added salt makimg it unique. very strong on clothes not so much on my skin as dries down within 2 hours, all day can’t stop smelling wrist:)
A really yummy sexy fresh sweet marine perfume for both day/night! Wish I’d given it more chance the first time around! My favourite ever perfume 🙂 Will also be testing out Aqua/Intense…

Out of my entire collection, this is one of my most complimented fragrances.
Rich, sultry, salty vanilla with the most divine drydown that you will still smell the next day. Excellent projection, incredibly long lasting. A beauty for summer – very reminiscent of a beach vacation, where your skin is sun kissed, your hair is salty with ocean water, and the scent of your skin is sweet and warm.
    Divine.

I loved this enough to buy a big ol’ backup bottle.
Echoing a lot of reviewers- I do NOT pick up any kind of BO scent in this at all. What I *DID* fall in love with are the second, third, and fourth stages of this fragrance:
Stage 1: the opening of citrus, with floral, vanilla, salt, in the background. I have to give this a bit to calm itself down. My least favorite stage.
Stage 2: the fresh fun stage where the salt opens a bit more, as does the vanilla–and somewhere in Stage 1 and 2, it reminds me briefly “feel-wise” of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. Not a dupe and no I am not saying they smell the same, but there’s the same kind of vibe (on me, at least).
Stage 3: The floral and citrus have mostly faded and it just is a nice salted vanilla with hints of the other notes clinging on somewhere, perhaps, but not much. Not a heavy, sickly-sweet or odd vanilla. But, really pleasant as an easily-detectable skin scent.
Stage 4: This is where Olympea shines. This is where you think it’s gone or barely there, at least until you’re up close and smelling it, then exhaling, and smelling it *again*. When that happens, the almost-sugar-cookie salty-vanilla comes back to life as one of the most wonderful skin scents. This is great, for example, as a bedtime fragrance, a date night fragrance, OR when curled up with someone. Very intimate scent in this stage, like a breath-activated skin scent.

    Paco Rabanne Olympea:
You’ve absolutely no idea just how much I longed to have this stunning beauty in my vast perfume collection after I tried this on in Duty Free whilst on holiday & absolutely loved it!! & I really regretted not buying it!! Well I’m glad to say that I now have it & wore it for the first last night!!
On First spray I get the most gorgeous blast of pure Citrus followed shortly by a fresh saltiness like bottled sea/coastal breeze!! Then around 20 minutes or so later this beautiful warm milky creamyness enters into the arena, followed by the most beautiful fresh white flowers!! Yes this perfume is certainly sweet but NOT sugary sickening sweetness with the most gorgeous powdery dry down!! & No joke this perfume really does last a very long time on my skin!! (Can still smell it the next day) this perfume really does give me the total feel good factor & A total lift when I wear it!! This actually smells very similar to “Marilyn Monroe How To Marry A Millionaire” has anyone else thought/found that? I’m absolutely delighted to own both,As it’s also a real beauty on my skin & it’s also A lot cheaper than the Paco Rabanne Olympea!! Will up-date when I’ve Wore this longer!! & see how many compliments I receive on it!!

Haha I’m glad my sis liked it( below).
I mean it’s pleasant enough but there’s a slightly metallic tang( may be that’s the salty note?) that puts me off. The caramel and vanilla and other sweet stuff are fine. I don’t like Reveal for the same reason. I’m not into that salty/ metal thing.I
It’s like walking on the beach and smelling caramel apples and fudge…and drinking warm water from a metal bottle.
The note of ambergris intrigued me but I don’t smell it that much. Demeter Ambergris is the bomb!

  38. :

This would make a great summer scent, reminiscent of afternoons at the beach, your hair wet with ocean water and getting sugary treats on the boardwalk…caramels or orangesicles. A fun scent with no heaviness and only feel good vibes.

  39. :

    4 out of 5

Absolutely love this perfume, it smells amazing on my skin, it’s quite floral at first but then it just smells like a sweet vanilla/caramel kind of scent. This lasts for 6 hours on me and I can always smell it on my clothes the next day, smells amazing. I think this one is a crowd pleaser. I wouldn’t spray this too much as it’s quite strong and could cause a headache, 2 spritz is probably enough. Men would definitely love this as it’s sweet and very feminine. I think this is suitable for all seasons and all ages. Love it and I think it is going to become my signature scent, can’t get enough of it.

Olympea is wonderful – I love it! It’s hot outside, in the 90’s, and this perfume is perfect. Rich vanilla and the ocean…moderate sillage and strong lasting power. After a shower and lotion before bedtime, I can still detect it on my skin.
I bought Olympea after testing it a few times. It’s one of those perfumes that if it works with your chemistry, it really works. If it doesn’t, it could be a disaster. Try before you buy… but definitely try.

I clearly prefer the Aqua one. Here the vanilla dominates more and I prefer the saltier, powdery Aqua.
A warm vanilla with salt and jasmine that doesn’t wow me. Maybe because I clearly prefer the Aqua 🙂
However, I can see its positives. The vanilla is creamy and warm and cozy, and the perfume is well rounded. Not excessively sweet and much better than many vanilla scents I have smelled. The sea/salt notes are subtle.

  42. :

Really hate this perfume! It smells cheap, sharp and it’s very headache inducing. Remind me of nail polish a little bit, it smells very chemical and I’m pretty sure there is blackcurrant or some type of sweet berry in here.

Scored twelve samples and shower gel off the bay for a good price. I really am enjoying this little number! The dry down is the best! Ambergris, cashmere wood and sandalwood with vanilla and Jasmin humming along in the background.❤️

I’m completely in love with this perfume!!! I just can’t get enough of it. A beautiful creamy, salty jasmine with hints of mandarin. Lasts forever on my skin and really blooms in the heat. Could work for any season though in my opinion. Easily in my top 5 favorites of all time <3 will be drowning in this all summer lol

I first received this as a sample and my interest was piqued enough to purchase it; I am so glad I did.
I snort-laughed when I read about it smelling like B.O. If there is any scent I DON’T think it smells like, it is B.O. Fragrance is great and interesting like that….we all interpret it differently and our body chemistry plays a large part in how it comes out to play.
This scent on me is all warm ginger and soft vanilla (sorry…no Vanilla Fields here and I am glad because I can’t stand that scent); with that crisp salty air quality. It reminds me of the Oregon coast on a warm day, with maybe some kettle corn cooking nearby, but not cloying..after the dry down, I get a musk reminiscent of the 80’s musks of my childhood.
I gave my Mom a bottle and a young woman who works at her bank raves about it every time…I think this scent is not suited to any particular age group…it could fit anyone.
I wear this fragrance in Spring/early Summer….it perfect for capturing a sunny day on the coast. As always, YMMV.

  46. :

    4 out of 5

I had my eye on this scent before getting to try it and I was kind of let down by thinking it would be a power house- It was good but not amazing or spectacular or different than most scents. One thing that was unique is the bottle shape and the vibe it gave me- of ancient Greece and their beliefs of gods and goddesses. This scent is dominated by vanilla and aquatic themes and is on the salty-sweet side. Best way to describe this scent is eating store bought vanilla ice cream in the hot sun near the salty sea waters while smelling “bitter” burning wood from a fire near by.
This all being said, It is faint and not strong, dominated by the neutrality of itself. It depends on the person’s body chemistry that will make or break this for someone. If I smelled this on someone I wouldn’t flinch or ask them what perfume they were wearing. I see mostly any age wearing this as the perfume itself is neither childish nor “sophisticated and mature”, perhaps even unisex while leaning towards feminine.
A spring scent indeed- summer is an exception and winter is a deviance for this scent and it’s purpose. If this scent was a genre of music it would be the indie kind that tries hard to differentiate itself to be original but ends up being just like the mainstream music.

I wore this perfume as a bride, on my wedding day, so I guess I will always find it special. It has something so feminine and warm about it, so royal and soft. I love the salt combined with the subtle vanilla. Totally a good choice.

  48. :

    4 out of 5

So far this has been the only salt dominant scent to strike me in a good way.
On paper salt sounds amazing, but having tried other salty scents like Reveal, Lovely and Aqva Divina I’ve been struck by a very weird and hard to describe ‘sweetness’ that was a little off putting in a very cloying sort of way that leaves me feeling a bit sick (I still quite like Reveal and Aqva Divina though). This however, lacks that.
I guess its the vanilla. This is both gourmand and aquatic, and I really like the uniqueness of it. For a lot of people this isn’t very original but I think it’s a special one and it’s polarising reviews attest to that I think.
I’m not keen on sugar sweet scents, but the salt so beautifully balances, the citrusy zest so perfectly brightens it and the ginger notes are so wonderfully aquatic that I couldn’t help but love this. No cloying, no sugar, just a beautiful vanilla nuttiness like ice cream and salted skin.
Beautiful in cold weather. I need to compare this with Olmpea Aqua first before I decide which of the two to finally make FBW (intense did not make the cut) but I’ve got high hopes for Aqua based off of this.

I like this perfume. It´s fresh, salty and a bit floral with a cold vibe. But to be honest it´s a bit generic so I´m going to use up my sample and probably not buy a bottle. For me it´s a safe gift and blindbuy. It has great longevity but I don´t like and don´t understand the idea of the bottle at all. Still like the scent though….

It was love at first sniff with Olympea! What a unique gem! I first tried it in winter and thought it would make an amazing scent for summertime. Then I actually wore Olympea when summertime rolled around…hmm…I realized the vanilla note is a bit too cloying for, say, a humid summer day. I tried her on a cooler summer day of about 82 degrees (F) with much less humidity and the vanilla receded while the salt note became more prominent. I think the notes really complement one another gorgeously! It’s sweet enough but the salt and ginger seem to temper the vanilla to make it a wearable take on gourmand for warmer (but not too warm) temperatures. Olympea really stands out to me. I think it’s a true *star* in the perfume world.

I’m sorry but I do not like it, so boring and plastic, so artificial, seems like an economic dupe of Armani Sì,another synthetic concoction from a producer of normally fabulous perfumes. Whatever created the salted vanilla note makes me swiftly queasy and needing air. One spray was enough to discourage a second while. The bottle is from Cartier’s Panthere from the ’86.For me it is not

i really dont like this perfume, i bought it because so many people love it,but thats not a smart reason to buy a perfume……
on me it smells very dry and strange plastic smell….for its price its really not worth it. i guess ill have to use it since ive bought it, but i said to myself after using it a couple o times:” this smells horrible!” i was expecting more

Salty woody citrus floral, reminds me very much of Calvin Klein’s Reveal. Honey notes would have really made it sing, imo.

My coworker wearing it. The scent was very familiar and after some time I recognized Alien but wasn’t sure as it was quite softer and calmer, lacking some aspects and without enourmus silage, a behavior not so suited to Alien. So I asked her what she is wearing- she sad Olimpeya.

Smelled this on one of my friends and I had to buy it. Sophisticated/Demanding smell. If someone smells you and you have this on they will know your not into BS cheap perfumes or anything cheap . Its sweet (because I love sweet perfumes) but I don’t know it had this KICK in it that just make this perfume demanding. I love it I will say it is a night scent even though I don’t believe in certain perfumes being worn at certain times of the day but it demands to be worn in the night!

I really thought I’d like this but it’s just a sweet, salty, aquatic jasmine. Weird combo of accords and I find it very cloying. Also, the bottle is super ugly and does not look like the pic here, it’s cheap bronze plastic.

No B.O. smell here! All I get is gentle sweetness that lasts ALL day. I find this a pretty safe, basic everyday kind of fragrance. I get a VERY nice smell from my sweaters and scarves when I go back to them after wearing this. I’m truly addicted.

Olympea opens very sweet and almost zesty, I smell orange blossom more than I do jasmin. Then is settles to be a very chipre-ish vanilla, no salt. I love salty perfumes (womanity for example) but this one is definitely more a sort of deep, warm vanilla orange smell. It somehow reminds me of Armani Mania (that I love) but a lot more heady and less refined in my opinion since the dry down of Olympea is very stale and headache inducing. Sadly I have been smelling it a lot around and for me it is a dislike. I get the popularity and the appeal of this sort of perfumes though.
Sillage is great (wish it wasnt) and longevity also very good.

In my mind, perfume can be like color in that it can make or break an atmosphere. Also, there are certain colors that make individuals look radiant, healthy, and attractive, and other colors that can make that exact same person look, ill, depressed, and bland. When wearing colors, for me there’s no “neutral”. If shades are not “warm-toned”, I look sallow and exhausted. Of course, it’s the same with some perfumes. Which is good, because I spend too much money on fragrance as it is. It’s good that only certain scents works for me. I have tried Olympea so many times…not sure how many exactly, because I keep thinking I will change my mind about how it smells. Often a fragrance I immediately dislike becomes one of my most beloved perfumes. That’s just not going to be the case with Olympea. It’s not that there’s anything bad about the scent itself. I think it’s expertly formulated, and beautifully unique. But I don’t enjoy it at all. I generally like Paco Rabanne fragrances, but Olympea, like CK Escape and L’eau d’Issey, is unmistakably aquatic/marine. For me, Escape and L’eau d’Issey were always inordinately off-putting. It could be that these scent associations influence my reaction to Olympea. I actually feel bad that I dislike it, because it’s unique, recognizable, and undoubtedly high quality.

This is an interesting one. I wanted to love it but after reading all the reviews about it smelling like bad hygiene, I already had that in my head when I went to spray it for the first time.. and at that point all I could smell was someone’s musty BO covered by a cheap vanilla spray. I love salty fragrances, love the marketing behind this, gorgeous bottle… what a shame.
I think if worn minimally this can be fine as a skin scent to be enjoyed privately but I’d feel self conscious if this one was projecting after applying it. The saltiness really is a bit much. This is like a saltier version of Reveal by CK. However, this phase of the fragrance doesn’t last! It does change a LOT during the drydown and the salty/musty aspect di
