Obsession Summer has just enough of the pillar fragrance that you can see the link, but it’s lighter, fresher and mildly aquatic. The notes don’t show the light aquatic note that is present throughout this fragrance, but it’s what delivers the fresh note often associated with modern men’s fragrances.
I understand why someone looking for a lighter weight version of Obsession would be disappointed in Obsession Summer. It’s more akin to the CKOne Summer fragrances – there’s a bit of the original, but each summer the fragrance is reimagined. (If you’re looking for a lighter version of the pillar, then source a bottle of the discontinued Obsession Sheer.)
The longevity of Obsession Summer is acceptable, and it’s just slightly larger than a skin scent – that’s EXACTLY what I want from a Summer fragrance, something light, fresh, clean and mild for hot days at the beach.

Well, I bought it with a bunch of other CC perfumes, hoping this will be great stuff, but unlike the bold and unusual Obsession Night, it is quite plain. However, as the scent wears off, it becomes very peculiar. With its first notes it reminds me of Burberry, London, but a bit cheaper. Still, good stuff. Better than everything from CC I came across in the last years…

Extremly boring stuff. Smells like plain shower gel. Nothing special at all. Should have named it “Boring Summer” instead…

This fragrance puts you in the mood for a vacation that can happen anytime between June and October. It’s like sitting in the lobby of a resort hotel, and smelling the mixture of a sea breeze through the windows, cocktails, nice room spray, fresh colognes and just a little bit of perfume, and the warmth of sun rays that settles on the trees… The longevity is not the most powerful but why would you care if you will going swimming and then have to reapply anyway?..

My husband surprised me with this perfume, and I have been thoroughly enjoying it ever since. It’s very powerful when I first apply, but it isn’t as endlessly enduring as the original Obsession – a fact that isn’t always a bad thing. I predominantly notice the white musk, and a delicate floral note that reminds me of lily of the valley.
I’ve taken to blending My Obsession Summer with Derek Lam 10 Crosby Silent St, and the two combined are just breathtaking. They are similar enough to complement each other, and the differences combine into something just amazing.

I was looking for this all summer without success. Just found it at a discount store so it was a blind buy. I’m pleased …it does have a hint of the original Obsession but it is softer with citrus notes not present in my recollection of the original. Not sure it needs to be restricted to warm months. Dry down is almost all musk, so I am planning to carry on wearing it into the fall. I love the scent, only complaint is poor longevity – glad I didn’t pay full price. I have Eternity summer which is a long lasting beast compared to this one. Bottle is identical to regular obsession other than the color. It’s different from other CK scents but the echo of Obsession makes it seem familiar and comforting.

I sprayed this on while wandering through a store, shopping. I loved it instantly. It reminded me a bit of Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey, but a lovely pale version. I love L’Eau D’Issey, but on me it gets screechy beyond what I can stand. I was excited to get the watery/airy vibe, but soft, and kept sniffing my wrist as I continued to wander through the shops. Sadly, it faded to absolutely nothing in about an hour. Poof, gone. It’s delicious. Next time I’ll try on my clothes and see how it develops and lasts. Soft sillage.

LOVE this. It’s a bit like regular Obsession, but it’s also different. I detect more citrus and bergamot, less spice. Some ozonic notes. It’s a bit fresher and lighter than regular Obsession, but it retains a similar warm, sexy drydown. Sensual yet fresh. I can’t get enough of it and I hope Calvin Klein makes a summer version of Obsession every year as they do with CK One and Eternity.

I have the chance to blind buy this but from the reviews it seens that it is a bit too masculine I was expecting something closer to the original not too acquatic.I hope I can get to test it before I buy it

Citrus and fresh air! It’s ozonic with a bite. The patchouli is not strong at all, it’s the not listed airy note, wood and citrus that are most strong. It’s a tad dry, totally unisex. I wore Prince 3121 today (RIP :() and it’s odd but, Obsession Summer is similar. Same androgynous vibe, dry and woody. Like a dry sauna! I’m digging it. Edit: for the first hour it’s rich and fresh but then it fades to nothing much at all. You don’t really want a powerhouse in the heat but it’s really weak so far in spring weather.

Just today was perfume delivered and I am very disappointed. From the “Summer” I expected something different. I do not feel there of the summe absolutely nothing. The combination reminds me the communist shaving foam for man or something, and iam sure that it’s a smell you’ll have to wear one, maybe 2 times and finish. For me the smell is of “men” not feminine,i dont feel nothing of sensual and summer. After some half an hour will remain slightly crisp but still there’s this man! This is the first perfume from CK that really disappointed 🙁 I do not know how to describe smell better here.100 peoples 100 tastes, but not for me .. ps: Sorry for my english 🙂

So we actually just got Obsession Summer in at the boutique I work at. To me, it smells like Jimmy Choo’s signature scent and Estee Lauder Beyond Paradise had a baby. It’s heavy and sweet, but somehow light and summery at the same time. I just tried it, so I have no idea how far or how long it will project, but it’s unique. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
