This screams “girl” no matter how you critique it. This is not smoky beyond your imagination as exhibited in the note votes. Obscuro is a misnomer for sure so don’t go looking for unicorns with this one. This has the nostalgia of big bouffant hair associated with the 80’s. The amber/balsam combo is open for discussion as a proper aroma to envelop your skin. The incense is nestled underneath the leather making the composition seem slightly cooked. For me, this fragrance is a cross between Oud Maharaji and Cicatrices. Indifferent.

Opens with hot rubber, tar, and Peru balsam.
Peru balsam – the scent of portapotty deodorant, dated cleaning products, and fearsome great aunties.
The aforementioned opening notes quickly mellow into hot rubber, spruce/pine, and a faint trace of amber (with just enough Peru balsam remaining to walk the line of sickly sweet).
Becomes increasingly incense-y the longer you wear it.
Lovely structure and intriguing composition… But I can’t do that Peru balsam. Dislike.

This one’s a sweet, sticky leather instead of the dry ones I’m used to. Balanced more towards sweet and mild spicy than leather.

This one is quite leathery, ambery with saffron and mild vanilla. Incense is there as well as the star anise is turning this juice into a tiny milky one. A nice one from their collection as well.
Edit (19th July 2017) The calmer it goes the sweeter it gets, the vanilla goes quite velvety and very dark as an obscure as it reminds me allot of “Obscure” video game by Mighty Rocket Studio that was released in 2004.

Hmmm…this one is a toughie. It’s like a chanel bag filled with BBW items. For the price tag one would expect the wowness of the YSL greats like Paris or Opium, and yet all I get is common coconut, sth powdery and some “metallic” florals that put grandma scents to shame. I really had high expectations of this one and once again I find myself in the realm of MEH 🙁

Can’t believe no one has reviewed this yet! If you’re in to sweet (not cloy or gourmand) orientals, then this is perfection. I am buying it for my mother who wears shalimar, opium and the new sweeter opium. Obscuro is not as heavy as the others, but still retains its complex aspect. I am very impressed, and kind of glad it’s so difficult to get hold of.
