Not the best coconut fragrance imo, but not bad either. I pick up more floral and amber notes than coconut.
adenuathe – :
I was so excited about this. With it’s coconut and incense notes I thought it was going to be a warmer-months version of wrapped in sugar. So far that’s not the case. There’s not enough sweetness or warmth to coconut sunset. It’s more aquatic. Looking at the notes I should have known but I’m into ‘subtle’ sweetness lately that everyone thinks smells like lotion. So I thought it could work. I actually didn’t like WIS that much when i first got it. It seemed like just another basic af girly scent, but I wasn’t expecting much more.Eventually The incense note just kinda snuck up on me and now I see it as something that is just sooo so me. I’m hoping something similar will happen with OCS though i liked WIS a lot better than I like this even at first.Perhaps it’ll do better in warmer weather but really now if a fume is good you can enjoy it year round even if certain times of year are better for it.

Oahu Coconut Sunset
Why does it almost smell like strawberry cough syrup to me? Am I the only one who thinks like that? Ahh, out of the bottle it smells like that. I could definitely smell the coconut and the other notes that I’m not familiar with hence, the cough syrup. But on my skin, wow! It smells better. It smells like summer! I Iove this mist! The coconut note on this one is heavier than the rest of its notes and the other mists on their collection but it’s not cloying. It’s amazing! I don’t know about you guys but after some time, it smells vanilla and coconut to me and it’s very warm and comforting. This one is an absolute favorite next to Tahiti Island Dream!
Scent: 9.5/10
Sillage: 6/10
Longevity: 7/10

Hello, I was looking for a new coconut fragrance ( kind of obsessed with coconut actually) and I find this body mist on sale…here is winter so I using it to sleep and when I woke up I could still smell it , nice and cozy!
Istorichka – :
This is my absolute favorite summer fragrance!!
I layer the body wash, body lotion and body spray in the summer for maximum coco-nutty summer goodness!
I wear the body lotion in the fall and winter layered with Jovan musk or Avon silky soft musk. This combination is more comfy and soft and smells more like vanilla once you get to the dry down stage.
I have got all of my friends addicted to this scent!

I bought this the first time I ever walked into a Bath & Body Works store.
This was very unusual and innovative. It doesn’t smell like anything else in my collection. This is an Aquatic amber perfume with a white tiare flower as the only feminine touch. It’s a pretty white floral Hawaiian scent with darker deeper notes of amber and incense. It smells like a sun tan lotion but hotter and like scented lava lamps from the 1970’s.
Not sweet despite the opening of a light citrus/banana and that exotic bird of paradise note. To my recollection, strelitzia/bird of paradise flowers do not have a smell. This is also big on those aquatic notes. It takes some getting used to but I love it.

The Best of Bath & Body Works
Oahu Coconut Sunset
This is a perfume that reminds me of a spa, like being inside a sauna with a lot of other women and their natural skin and sweat mingles together but smells good anyways. I don’t see where anyone is getting the “Hawaii paradise” tropical thing from. This is skin and body lotion or sun block type of scent. It has no aquatic notes and the incense is hot and resinous like actual sunlight on your skin. I think that’s where they got the “Sunset” part from.
The opening is strange with a weird floral note which they are calling strelitza? Whatever. Smells like an exotic flower I’d never smelled that doesn’t last very long anyways. There is no fruit scent whatsoever. The white floral note of tiare and lily I could smell and it’s the best part of the fragrance. Tiare is very well balanced with vanilla. It’s creamy and rich and even a bit edible.
The dry down is incense.
Not a bad perfume but not my favorite although it is very complex and takes some getting used to. It’s unisex.
rozand – :
No, does NOT smell like Katy Perry’s perfume because her perfume is good, this one isn’t.
In fact, it’s awful! Has this grease smell to it.
I returned. Smells so bad! Must be the amber/coconut mix that just doesn’t work out.

Fragrance Review For Oahu Coconut Sunset

A Hawaiian Breeze caresses your nose. You are just arriving in Hawaii, Oahu, to be exact, and you hear ukuleles playing and hula dancing girls in grass skirts at a distance on a gorgeous beach setting. You are welcomed with a lei around your neck by pretty dark skinned island girls. To the distance you see verdant slopes that lead up to a volcano. This is a beautiful fragrance. It evokes the Hawaiian islands and whomever formulated this scent must have spent a lot of his or her life in the Hawaiian islands because the ingredients are all found in that paradise of our planet Earth known as Hawaii.
The fragrance has an unusual floral opening: strelitzia. This exotic flower is more commonly known as bird of paradise. It has a yellow floral scent, sweet and a bit fruity, resembling the skin of a banana. It has a strange aroma that takes some getting used to but as previous reviewers have pointed out it smells like banana which is alright by me. The citrus scents are not heavy, just the right amount of bergamot orange and there is of course more coconut than anything else. This is a milky coconut water type of scent. It does smell aquatic, and feels like you’re right at the beach and the ocean waves are at your feet.
The Tiare flower or plumeria is a five petal star shaped gardenia white flower native to the Hawaiian islands. The people of Hawaii have long revered this flower. In ancient times the Tiare was worn in the hair of the most beautiful women. They were also used as offerings to gods to appease them or to invoke their spirit as they were hurled into the ocean or on top of active volcanoes. It is their official state flower. The tiare I am smelling in this perfume is lovely but it’s clearly more of a gardenia with a vanilla scent. It is still very much like the real thing though and I have smelled tiare flowers recently and the scent in this fragrance matches up.
There are more white flowers in this scent including a white lily and tuberose. The tuberose should have been stronger otherwise but the tiare dominates the scent. This is a lovely gardenia perfume but it is elegantly paired with white lilies. If you like white floral scents and you’re fond of gardenia/tiare, and lilies, this is a very sweet and toned down Jungle Gardenia by Tuvache type of scent. The longer you smell those flowers they start becoming richer, creamier, milkier, and like the inside of a coconut shell. It is also very creamy like banana cream. For some strange and hilarious reason this fragrance to me smells like the Professor from Gilligan’s island made it to be worn by the ladies on the island: Ginger, Mary Ann and Mrs. Howell LOL If he could make a radio out of coconuts then surely he could make a perfume out of coconut and tiare flowers as well.
The scent becomes warmer and darker toward the end. It begins to evoke the image of a sunset over the ocean. This is not called Oahu Coconut Sunset for nothing. The incense and amber notes merge together and give it a depth and warmth. It’s absolutely beautiful how it dries down into amber. The sea notes are actually more along the lines of a light coconut water and not as aquatic as so called aquatic floral scents like Davidoff Cool Water. This can still smell like an aquatic floral however but it’s more a fruity-floral aquatic with a heavy coconut milk and banana cream. It’s gourmand even.
I can’t believe this fragrance! It’s a dream of a Hawaiian paradise right on your nose. I live in New York City and I’m as far from Oahu as can be but when I inhale this perfume, especially in the warmth of summer at a beach on Long Island, I am transported miles away to Hawaii and feel like a beautiful island princess with tiare in her hair and walking barefoot on the sand, with a soft breeze blowing over my dark tresses. This scent also really matches up with a floral print sarong, the kind that can be worn at the beach, and I would recommend this as a perfume to wear with a sarong if you like those fashion pieces and wear them to the beach, even if it’s not a Hawaiian beach. This is a vacation perfume, a beach perfume, and smells so good.
Enjoy

I thought I could never find the more perfect and most beautiful of the Bath & Body Works fragrances. This is it. This kicks Creed Virgin Island Water. This is the most tropical of all tropical scents. The notes are: strelitzia, bergamot, coconut, tuberose, lily, tiare, incense amber and sea notes. I took the time to analyze this fragrance and could smell every note. This begins with a green scent that sorta smells like a plant and an orange tree. It’s definitely strelitzia also known as bird of paradise flower. It’s an exotic herbal flower that has a bird’s head and beak type of shape. It also tends to smell like banana when you get up close to smell it. So right away this scent turns fruity and tropical with bergamot, banana and plus that big coconut scent. I love the coconut here which keeps it tropical. Further tropical airs include the fragrance of plumeria or Tiare the most beautiful island flower of Hawaii and Tahiti. What that is however is a gardenia, a type of gardenia. The lily and gardenia/tiare are a perfect pairing of white tropical flowers. There’s also a very fragrant tuberose. The scent dries down after the flower smells go away and then it’s a warm amber. The incense note is soft like a camp fire at the beach that is dying down. I can’t wait to wear this on my next cruise to the Caribbean. This is a great vacation scent, an island fragrance, or just something to wear while sailing on a yacht. It’s everything I love about the beach and tropical islands.

Smells alright but anything from this company lasts about 90 seconds and then VANISHES. No sure what the point of that is…….
Sleenueantilk – :
I bought a mini of this for $1 at BBW semi-annual sale….ended up LOVING it! I only like a handful of BBW scents, and this is one of them. It is like a sexy, warm coconut scent…and I don’t think I have ever smelled another scent like it!! I highly recommend….It has great lasting power too. I can smell it the next day on my clothes.
olek_14 – :
I own the body lotion in this scent and really like it for the summer months. It’s sweet and creamy. It’s warm and has the coconut-y scent of sun tan lotion. This reminds me of a day at the beach!
dndrus – :
This one is more of a sexy super hot summer night. The coconut smells a little expensive hotel soapish, maybe even a little synthetic. But not too bad. This one reminds me of a humid Caribbean honeymoon at night. There is something very tiki torches, luau, and reckless abandon about it.
ShIfsodis – :
One of my favorite buys! Very unique and not super sweet coconut, warm scent. I love everything Oahu, but my favorites are the EDT, body cream, and shower gel. EDT lasts about 3 hours on me (really good for BBW) and layers well. Would Repurchase.
othelterola – :
A real surprise:) I always run away from bargain fragrances that are vanilla & amber oriented because done cheaply these accords turn to a nightmare.
BUT Oahu coconut ended being my favourite coconut based summer splash from B&BW. The waikiki one was a bit strong on fresh fruity vibe, and the other scents just too wrong, sweet and fruity.
It’s a warm coconut milk with frangipani mostly, some subtle vanilla/ amber, and white flowers. Somehow sweet but manages to stay grounded. Only wish it was stronger!
scent: 7+/10
longevity: 4/10
sillage: 3/10
GepFerdedaCew – :
One of my favorite oldie but goodie scents!!
Perfect summer coconut scent! I wish it lasted longer but oh well, using the matching body lotion & shower gel helps a lot!
ordindlegenly – :
I bought this scent because the bottle was 75% off, plus I had another coupon 🙂
I love anything coconut and tropical so this scent is wonderful, however it is very light and does not last long at all. I spray a lot and I can’t seem to smell it even after the shortest time. I have been told I smell like yummy suntan lotion lol- so if that’s your thing I highly recommend it!
depravity81 – :
Love, Love, Love this. It is a perfect summer scent. When you spray it, once or twice is not enough. It does smell like suntan lotion, sweet coconuts and caramel. Does not last long but neither does a tan lol. Wish they made a 3.4 oz.
serj_1 – :
Just got this today and I love it. As opposed to Waikiki which is a bit atypical , this is a warmer representation of a summery coconut scent that has a very sweet dry down. The incense gives it almost an air freshener smell however, it fades into what I normally associate with nearly forgotten vanilla scent. Its not anything that will blow your mind but it is a very cheerful fragrance with decent projection and longevity I would not mind wearing at all.
bezlove – :
Amazing. The quintessential summer scent..
Deroxatwyu – :
I love it. Smells a bit like Hawaiian Tropic Tanning Oil with sweet floral notes, Great for summer.
Sergey_77 – :
Really nice coconut fragrance! Doesn’t last long but I use this for layering with my other tropical or coconut based perfumes. I really love the price on it as well.
debil – :
I love this floral coconut scent and I am thrilled B&BW has finally given it’s fans the scent of Oahu Coconut Sunset in a perfume!
