Description

Nuvol de Llimona is a delicious fragrance developed by the famous pastry chef Jordi Roca of the restaurant El Celler de Can Roca (Girona, Catalonia, Spain). With the co-operation of perfumer Agustí Vidal, Jordi has captured the essence of the dish, a “lemon muffin soaked in milk”, and has successfully encapsulated its flavour in a bottle of fragrance.

Top notes are bergamot and tangerine; middle notes are lily-of-the-valley, milk and custard; base notes are sugar syrop and toasted sugar. Nuvol de Llimona was launched in 2011. The nose behind this fragrance is Agusti Vidal.

Very similar to DKNY Creamy Meringue, only not quite so tooth achingly sweet. Seems to be limited longevity.

Nuvol de Llimon is a smooth, creamy, fluffy, citrus scent that is pretty and ladylike. What a pity that this delightful fragrance is so short lived! It also stays very close to the skin, even after dousing myself. I have really enjoyed the sample I had, but given how discreet it is and how little staying power it has, I cannot quite justify the price of the full bottle. I wish it was stronger. 🙁

This is a elegant yet warm soft lemon cloud. I second the member @thehanna below who writes its is like the grown up, lemon version of Pink Sugar.

Longevity sucks sadly, the gourmand component is pleasant but short lived, not strong, doesn’t envelope you in a half-day intense blanket of foody, sweet, creamy, custardy wonder. Don’t go in expecting gourmand in the forefront, it’s all lemon. Then it turns into a whisper soft, sweet, gourmand. It’s an echo.
But that lemony citrus accord! I AM IN LOVE.
I just love the uniqueness of this one – enough to buy it. I like what’s in it. I like the story, I like the idea… I can also see perfectly how this would not work if it had more longevity – it would be really cloying.
In its current state, its exactly like a luxe dessert: a short lived, delicious indulgence to be devoured or savoured (you choose) – but not for too long, and certainly not all day, every day. This is not packet of generic, buttery, trusty shortbread or 4 pack of premade custards or creme caramels ready to slot into your everyday life… it’s a little indulgence – but more for those who have sniffed literally a billion fragrances and are more into niche than mainstream, more into conceptual pieces than practical every day pieces.
I like it more for the lemon than the gourmand so definitely sample this on Lucky Scent as I did. You will not have a better idea of if this is your thing or not, unless you sample it. I don’t want to try define it too much but this isn’t exactly a fragrance I would recommend to 90% of my social circle. It’s very much a love or leave.

If you like Pink Sugar this will not be sweet enough for you. This is Pink Sugar grown up into a lemon gourmand that feels really fresh and adult.
This is more of a lemon scent than a custard. The creamy, custardy note is light and not overpowering or too sweet. The lemon is fresh, cool and tangy.
    Love it!

whats ITALIAN in a perfum catalan and made in Catalunya, currently a part of Spain?

This smells *uncannily* like the (sadly) discontinued Tutti Dolci Lemon Meringue lotion, etc. from Bath and Body Works. Finally, I’ve found a substitute for my heavenly favorite! I’m tempted to buy a bottle just for nostalgia’s sake. I understand there was an EDT for that line too but I never tried it. I wonder how close it was to this.
I agree that the milky note is more 1% than whole milk, but it’s there. Or should I say it’s more like a light, creamy sweetness?
Delicious, definitely, but no worries about smelling too literal. It’s not overly sweet and you won’t smell like food wearing it.
Though you may smell suspiciously like bubble bath.

Lemon Cloud is not a gourmand fragrance! It’s neither custardy nor milky; these notes just serve to soften, give a pillow-like quality.
    Okay…cloud-like…
Beautiful fragrance reminiscent of some of Jo Malone’s or Fresh’s offerings. Bergamot, lily and sugar…bright, happy and soft yellow, not sunshine orange like some citrus scents. If this were stronger, I would buy it, but I’ll stick with Sugar by Fresh for a similar experience at a fraction of the cost. Love the simple bottle, the premise, ads, and packaging as well.
Odd that there is no lemon in a fragrance called Lemon Cloud (there are lemons pictured in the print ads as well…hm) but this is a definite plus here. Bergamot is a much more subtle, spicier citrus that won’t leave your senses reeling with furniture polish comparisons. ‘Pledge’ really blew it for the lemon.
Zero silage and no staying power. Shame.

    This is lemon heaven.
The opening is bright, zesty bergamot and tangerine, very tart.
Then we get some sugar, making it like a dessert. The lily of the valley brings a soft, smooth floral note that creates a creamy background.
The whole fragrance is beautiful, sweet but not in a ‘celebrity’ or ‘teen’ type of perfume. Even though this scent may be described as an inspiration from a dessert, it feels elegant and delicate. Thumbs up!

This is similar to fresh’s brown sugar, but weaker and less sweet. Not sweet enough for me, and not custardy or creamy to my nose.

Thanks for having reviewed this one.
I took it out of my test-list because it’s not gonna be desserty enough for me.

Lemon Cloud opens with a bright, slightly sweet lemon – no sharp edges at all. For being inspired by a dessert, it is not too sweet or sugary at all (unlike Fresh Sugar Lemon, which I find very sweet and sugary). There is something very comforting about it and I think luckyscent’s description of it being “gentle” is very accurate. It truly is cloud-like! On me, the dry down turns softly musky and slightly creamy, but not too much – the lemon still remains cheerful. I don’t get any milky notes, but I do get a *touch* of custard. Very nice!

I really do enjoy the scent!! It’s sweet in the right way not cloyingly sweet ! BUT this scent has a very very poor staying power 🙁 I think it’s a cologne, correct? It’s a shame such a nice scent but weak staying power. I’ve to keep it in my pocket so i will be able to re-apply it 🙁 pedestrian bottle, but gorgeous packaging!

Yes, it sounds so good … and I couldn’t resist and bought it unsniffed. I got the citrus and was waiting for the creamy and gourmand scent and this did not happen. It’s not bad but nothing special. Try it on first.

I was fortunate enough to find this one on ebay, I bought it within a heartbeat… My package arrived today, and i couldn’t be anymore thrilled. I dreamed of a very yummy scent ever based on the notes.
I was wrong! It’s a very citrus scent. Its opening really remind me of Jo Malone’s Jasmine and Orange-blossom then it turn out to be a custard-y kinda smell,, i dunno.. I don’t know if i like it or not, i’ll try it on tomorrow to find out!

    Thanks for your review, TQ.
As you had the opportunity to test it, I have a question for you : does the scent corresponds to the notes here above ? Does it really smell like custard ?

OMFG I want and NEED this now! It sounds SO good! I read a review on it and it sounds like sweet comforting heaven in a bottle! DELICIOUSNESS! I’ll have to order a sample before I commit to a bottle. I had no idea this existed until today and truly wish I had put it on my xmas list. Does anyone have a time machine I can borrow? Ha! : )
