Description
After collections of body and home fragrance, Rituals cosmetics from Netherlands launches their first perfumes to mark the tenth anniversary of the brand. In collaboration with world-renowned perfumers, Rituals represents eight high-quality perfumes, five for women and three for men. Female perfumes are No. 01, No. 04, No. 07, No. 09 and No. 18 and male ones are No. 06, No. 14 and No. 19. Each of them is based on two main ingredients that give it strong character. The ingredients are natural with the addition of organic alcohol.
No. 01 Ginger Essence & White Tea is a clean and fresh citrus – floral fragrance. Inspired by the ancient art of perfumery, Jean-Pierre Bethouart merged the purity of white tea with the intensity of ginger.
Top notes: white tea, ginger.
Heart: cardamom, grapefruit, lily of the valley.
Base: candied ginger, musk.
Available in simple and elegant bottle with wooden stopper as 50 ml Eau de Parfum.
No. 01 Ginger Essence & White Tea was launched in 2010.

I have a mini of this one and No. 23 from this range, and will review them together because my experience of them is more or less the same. I love their potent, wonderfully bright openings: this one has the most delicious sparkling ginger tea combination, and No. 23 is one of the best fruity florals I’ve ever smelled. But, and it’s a very big but: they both fall spectacularly flat in a matter of minutes, and then they’re just vaguely present musky shadows of their former selves that do nothing at all for me. Which is why I think I would vastly prefer these as bath products instead.

Rituals has never disappointed me with any fragrance yet, let it be for male or female, they’re all made of great quality and you will never find any synthetic notes in them!
I find most of Rituals offerings to be quite unisex, I would have no issues at all with wearing the male range in this line. Also some of the female offerings are perfectly suitable for men as well. So is Ginger Essence & White Tea as well as White Patchouli & Cedarwood.
This one is really refreshing, clean and energizing!
Grapefruit, white tea and ginger are blended to create a perfect harmony with cardamom and lily of the valley dancing in the background.
Longevity around 4 hours, sillage is a soft aura around the wearer.

A seriously kickass fragrance. I did the usual round at the office, and the women, my God the women, they loved it on me. Not one of them asked if I was wearing a female fragrance.
Absolutely every single one, after smelling my neck, suddenly started stripping and a stripper pole magically appeared from yonder ceiling. It must have been the ginger.
“Cue funky disco music” and I started shouting “eeey-oooh”, loosening my tie while the women were doing acrobatic moves on the poles.
Thanks Rituals…!

Wow, I must say, this is surely nice on it’s own, really spa-ish luxury scent, gorgeous massive impact on the smellbuds.
Out of curiosity I layered it with another pungent perfume I have (Lanvin Rumeur), which I put on first, and then this, and it became a truely harmonious symphony. I actually didn’t even expect them to be this good together. Rumeur has patchouli in it, that works against stress and lifts the mood.
They only have Lily-of-the-valley and musk in common. It added some fresh grapefruit zest and ginger spiciness to my Lanvin Rumeur “lady cool, collected and elegant” experience…haha, so much fun to create your own stuff! 🙂 I have to remember to use this beautiful combo often!
But Rituals no 1 definately also deserves to be worn on its own. It is a clean, fresh, healthy, vigorous scent. I can’t explain if it relaxes me or it energices me, I think both, if that is possible. Yes, well, ginger definately energices me.
No.1 is not what you would call “feminine”, if that would mean sweet and flowery. It is more of a citrus experience, and I love lily-of-the-valley. That can sometimes be quite sharp. But beautiful. But this is not like Diorissimo, which in my opinion is the queen of lily-of-the-valley fragrances. This is, all in all, more like a spa scent, I guess.
Clean, white, supreme quality bathrobe kind of zen feeling is what I get. On its own. I love it.

This is superb actually. A ginger-tea-citrus blend made really well. Does not smell boring at all!
Ginger is there, and doesn’t smell like food on me, wich is nice for a change. The tea is more floral than herbal, wich lifts the entire fragrance several pinholes. And then we have the citrus, lingering in the behind, like something you peeled a while ago and then just pops in to remind you that “hey, I’m still here, what do you want?”
Love it.

Love, love, LOVE! Holy wow this is special. Like many scents I’ve ended up loving, I hadn’t heard of Rituals before I received this sample from a very thoughtful and generous fragrantican. Yes, this is a daytime scent. It is a tiny bit soapy, but the predominant smell is that of crisp, delicious ginger beer- the kind that still has grated ginger in the bottom of the bottle. I can smell every single note but they’re blended wonderfully. It’s refreshing and energizing and makes me think of a day at an expensive spa! Just smelling it brings a smile to my face! My only concern is that the longevity may be a bit weak. I know it’s probably going to cost me an arm and a leg but I have to have a bottle someday. Until then I’m going to treasure every last drop in this tiny vial!

This was absolutely beautiful for the first 5 minutes, and after that it smelled exactly like dark chocolate with just a tiny hint of ginger. Not unpleasant, but completely not what I was expecting!

I didn´t know Rituals until yesterday, and I really liked this frangance when I first tried it, because of the ginger scent, so I decided to buy the small flask (and also No. 09 Vanilla & Sweet Orange Drops), because the big one was a bit expensive just to give a try.
I´m wearing it today, it´s very fresh in a different way, and the ginger smells really nice; the pity is that it doesn´t last for a long time… but it´ll be worth buying the 50 ml bottle next time.

This is a nice day scent. I am positively surprised by the new range of Rituals scent. The lasting power doesn’t seem too strong, but the scents as such fit to their names and are a nice to wear if you agree with the notes. Mostly they are daytime scents.
