I blind bought this just a month ago after reading a lot of reviews on it. I’m not fond of the opening at all. Stay away from any human interaction for at least an hour after spraying this. The initial projection from just 2 sprays is quite enormous though.
The drydown is AMAZING, and the sillage is great as you’d expect from Joop!. It’s suited for a nice summer evening, maybe even during the daytime in spring.
I’ll give it a 8/10 because of the drydown and 12+hours longevity. There are better summer juices out there, but for the money it’s a steal.
Bottle batch code: 6287 (October 2016)
EDIT: WARNING – anything more than 3 sprays is guaranteed to repel everyone around you. Stick to 2 sprays and you should be golden for 12 hours.

The best of the joop line in my opinion
You get something smelling of cotton candy, something aquatic and a mellow marshmallow smell
Still noticeably synthetic, linear, and uninspired, but a improvement
A good gift for a nephew, but I not really recommended either
Anyone with fragrance experience will probably not like this and probably dislike this
6 hours longevity and fair projection and good sillage
Avoid, if you have a refined or experienced nose

I bought this and wore this since it came out in the mid 90’s. In fact I still own one of the original formulations, as I had more than one bottle at the time.
Comment: I think it was ahead of it’s time and actually fits more in this era. I imagine if D&G put this in a blue bottle calling it DARK BLUE, or a Versace called it an Eros flanker, or something of the sorts, I believe it would do very well in popularity and above 3.95 stars rating. Just speculation. Nothing off the charts but holding it’s own.
Scent: Extremely fresh scent. Not overly sweet. Slightly fruity but not in feminine way. Just look at the notes above, it’s a shotgun blast of multiple desirable notes, And blended in a very respectable manner.
Performance: well i can’t speak for newer formulations, I still own original, but holy cow, as a young man, with no sense of trigger control, it’s was LOUD x 10 to the 10th power. I should have stopped spraying 7 shots ago, and no, that part of a 20 yro’s body does not need 3 sprays of this cologne. Overkill. It would announce your presence as soon as you hung up the phone and told the person you were heading to their house. I think it would actually knock on the door for you. And it would last till you washed those clothes weeks later, and penetrate all other clothes with in a foot. And as a 20 yro, yeh, you would wear that shirt again, of course it’s clean, smell it, duh!

Cool Water and Calvin Klein’s Eternity for Men have had many children together, and this is another. The opening is very reminiscent of Cool Water; as it dries down the Eternity DNA becomes more apparent.
Fresh and pleasant, but not particularly distinctive or memorable.

    Light and pleasent.
Opening isn’t impressive. In fact it’s alcoholic and cheap-deo-spray like.
It only gets better after ten minutes. Now it reminds me a little bit of MB Individuel. The dry down on the other hand brings the vibes simillar to D&G PH.

I love this! Blind bought this for my Husband at Marshalls and thankfully we both have been enjoying it. Its listed as oriental but its very fresh and uplifting. The top is very zesty with the pineapple, lavender, juniper and citrus. As it dries down to the middle it stays fresh, but a bit of powdery warmth breaks through. The woods and floral combined with the almond is very comforting. The base is an ambery, Tonka, warm musk. Is smells nothing like Joop! Homme, however it does kind of shout out to it with the powdery warm feeling it gives once the zesty top dissipates. Its very clean to me and inoffensive. Would be good in the warm weather. We live in Florida, so it was a perfect bargain buy! I like the bottle design as well. Ladies and Gents keep your eyes peeled for this one, if you see it snatch it up!

I picked up a new bottle of this several months back and I’m pleased to report that Nightflight has survived reformulation beautifully. Batch code 7298 (Oct 2017) may lack some of the longevity of previous batches, but all of the nuances that caused me to fall in love with it in the first place remain safely intact. 🙂

I owned this perfume between 1994 and 1996… I barely remember the smell from then.
I bought it again (bargain at £20 for 125 ml) purely from nostalgic curiosity.
Opens with a very sweet synthetic smell but settles to a beautiful addictive drydown which is extremely pleasant!!!
Definitely ahead of its time! (Shares some base DNA with its famous brother)
I wish it lasted longer and projected further, but this is the sad story of practically every perfume today…
I am very happy with it!!!… I just have to spray more!!!
    (batch number 6302, Oct 2016)
    Love it!
    8/10
EDIT: Amazing sprayer… One push and out it flows a huge amount of juice…

Highly underrated fresh fragrance that smells amazing from start to finish,u will get compliments and it will last 10 plus hours with at least 3 feet of silage,i rate this a 4 out of 5 and trust it smells nothing like joop it’s a fragrance of its own and nice

This is very much like green Irish Tweed BUT it is tone down version; GIT is pretty loud on top notes as compared to this.
It kicks off with lemon and citrus on top node and in heart notes it is very much green and green notes are actually cannabis and voilet leafs, and sandalwood fragrance. In Base it gets different from GIT and it becomes sweet musky sandalwood.
This is good for spring and summer season and easily wearable in formal suiting. Projection and longevity is moderate.
Overall I would rate this 7/10

well, I don´t get any pineapple, lavender or almond…just a huge dose of sporty citrusy notes (lemon, bergamot) that last forever (Nightflight can be really harsh and unpleasant if overapplied, this is one of the scents I usually spray into the air and then walk through the cloud)
great as a casual outdoorsy day scent for hot summer, just imagine Cool Water (with its freshness) mating with some lemons – this would be one of their offsprings, age range: 20-40

frsh clean pineapples can’t stop smelling it. Sprayed it once and I feel like I should already get another bottle because I feel like I’m running out. Get it it’s cheap smells great you can’t go wrong. Cannot stop smelling it can’t wait to wear this to work tomorrow and everyone giving that look like damn this dude smells so good but I’m just to shy to let him know it!

Smells so good! This is a really great scent, fresh as morning dew.Nightflight is a nice spicy/aromatic citrus with an oriental dry down that smell a little more expensive than what its price point out. It has an opening based in a bitter orange + spicy pineapple combo that then, turns into an oriental dry down based in a balsamic sandalwood/amber base.
Very versatile and aromatic indeed , Nightflight has become almost in my go-to scent. It is so pleasing to the nose that you feel like smelling it often. Hard to resist smelling it,
you can´t go wrong with this!

Reminds me of a kind of liquorish candy I got as a kid.
I like this scent. Bought it because of the cool name, and I find myself using it every now and then. Nice bottle and great sprayer.
Good for days when I feel extra confident and have a high level energy. On those days it gives me an extra boost.
Wearing Nightflight on days when I don’t feel all that confident, I might just end up feeling like a clown at a suit and tie party. It stands out!

This is my 4th fragrance from the house of Joop! I know Joop gets a lot of hate here with people calling their fragrances cheap, synthetic, boring, and other negative comments. Well, IME Joop is one of the best value-based fragrances in the market. Whether hate or love, nobody can say Joop is a copycat house like so many fragrances today that smell alike. Joop is a real innovator from its original Joop Pour Homme (pink bottle) to one of my all time favorite fragrance – What About Adam, which was love at first spray. Nightlight is another Joop fragrance I enjoy a lot and a summer staple in my rotation. Fresh, clean, citrus comes to mind when I wear this masterpiece. I don’t get people calling this boring or similar to other colognes because this juice is unique just like the original and King Adam. If there was one fragrance I could compare it to it would be individuel by Mont Blanc. They both have that fresh dryer sheet vibe. Nightlight is not my favorite Joop, that would easily be Adam, followed by Joop Jump, and then the original. Although Nightflight is 4th on my list of Joop fragrances, it’s still far ahead of many other fragrances in my summer rotation. Like all Joop releases, it has excellent longevity, especially on clothing. At $23 for 4.2 oz, it’s one of the best values out there.
Update: I now have my 5th Joop fragrance Joop Wild and I’ll be reviewing that one next. On first sniff I got a night at a tropical beach bar vibe in the Caribbean, It has a delicious rum.. That one is going to be fun.

The miracles of skin: I don’t even feel lemon in the opening of Nightflight . At first it is just pineapple and lavender then bit by bit it incorporates citruses and a bouquet of flowers and sweetens with tonka and amber which give a smoky/woody character to the scent. Only drawback is longevity 4 to 5 hours. But a very interesting and lovely perfume.

This is my vacation scent. This is me, standing barefoot on a beach at midnight, staring out at the ocean, lost in thought and wonder. There is so much nostalgia, anticipation, and so many memories locked inside this bottle. It would be my signature scent, but I don’t ever want to get tired of it. I don’t want my brain to create associations between this scent and everyday, mundane activities. It’s the only fragrance that I love enough to save only for certain occasions.

For some of us, reviews of older scents will nearly always have two shades; admiration of the classic and disapproval of the embarrassing renditions of recent years.
My classic (bought in 1997) 75ml Joop Nightflight was an intelligent composition, natural smelling, citrusy, fresh and amazingly stable in the heat. great musky soapy masculine drydown.
The modern (bought in 2009)125ml Joop Nightlight smelt like too much was sacrificed for whatever reason. The synthetic bubble gummy opening was NOT in the classic, there is an attempt to simulate the original smell as it develops but the formation is disjointed and the bubble gummy note stays almost to the end. However it does smell Okay/good in the scent trail.

This is Joop!?, but should not carry the the joop name.
    Smells like pledge furniture cleaner.

    First initial wearing review:
This is easily 1 of the worst openings ever !!! It opens with a very synthetic sharp, lemony opening that smells like cleaning product you would buy at the dollar store.
After about 10 minutes some of that harshness subsides and the pineapple and rose come out making this slightly more tolerable but it’s still not anything I’d be comfortable wearing out in public. To be honest this smells like a janitors closet.
I could see myself liking this better but as of right now I highly dislike this ! I disliked Joop but I dislike this even more than the original
    ———–
    Updated review:
I still don’t like this fragrance as its pretty much linear and I still can’t stand the opening ! It’s just way too sharp and smells like a cheap cleaning product. Also if I spray more than 2 sprays this gives me a headache.
BUT it’s still not horrible …. Yes what you get in the opening is what your going to the rest of the fragrance but the harshness does calm down after an hour and the rose comes in making this slightly more pleasant. I have gotten whiffs of this hours later and thought it was kind of nice. Still not great though and I don’t see myself wearing this again.
Performance on this is very good though… lasts 6-10 hours and projects very well for 2 hours and it’s very loud for the first hour.
I honestly don’t see how people can compliments from this stuff because it’s average at best.( And that’s in the drydown)
Final rating— 5.5 out of 10 ! Almost a passing score but for the price you can’t expect much

Any comments on Nightflight new batches 2015/2016 is it worth buying? Back in a day it was fantastic smell with very good performance.

  23. :

    5 out of 5

If the opening of Joop! Nightflight is supposed to smell like pineapple, then it’s a very bad and artificial approximation.
Nightflight starts off with the artificial pineapple note along with a fresh chemical/clean smell. After a few minutes it evolves into EXACTLY the same smell as T by Tommy Hilfiger (the men’s version).
Interestingly, despite the two fragrances being practically identical, they have only one note in common: “Green notes” (whatever that means). This shows how arbitrary and meaningless note pyramids for synthetic fragrances can be.
Projection and longevity are both quite good for Nightflight; possibly better than those of T.

The kind of scent of like most: citrus!
    Spicy, fresh, clean.
Acid pineapple stands out in my skin.
I expected it to last more, though.
(it’s a moderate for me, but acording to the reviews it’s a long lasting for most of people, which I’m not included)
Very interesting and versatile, can be used for work, sports, dates, and even a club.
I could smell like this all day! 🙂 (and night)

  27. :

fruity, fizzy, acidic. That is what hits you when you first apply Nightflight and that feeling never really goes away. This scent is all top notes with the middle and base providing subtle reinforcement. If you like what you smell upfront, then you are going to love this scent, because that is what stays with you for hours. if you are not into citrus, acidic pineapple, then look elsewhere. I love it, but I recognise that it is not to everyone’s taste. It is definitely a summer scent and, contrary to its name, is equally at home in the daylight as it is after dark. And, unlike the original Joop, it ages well and does not go stale after a few hours. If you are of two minds about th mixed reviews, my suggestion is to try a sample. You’ll never never know if you never never go!

Excellent scent that could and should command a much higher price. I have worn everything from Creed to Guerlain to Tom Ford to Jovan. I’ve sampled the most expensive and the cheapest of the cheap and I have gotten more compliments on this scent than ANY other. This one shocked me. A very simple scent of lemon, lavender, and synthetic pineapple. I detect nothing else here, personally. These three notes alone more than adequately get the job done though. A bit soapy and crisp with just a little underlying sweetness. It works for both day and night and nearly any season, but is a bit too light for regular Winter wear. Smells like a young man who’s clean shaven in a fresh linen suit taking a stroll along a Miami pier. Very chic and versatile. It’s also quite deceptive. Two sprays and you’d swear it’s a skin scent….until the compliments start rolling in. “Oh my god! What are you wearing?! It smells AMAZING!” The only issue I have is longevity. After 2 hours, it’s time to reapply. That aside, it IS amazing. Try it and you won’t regret it, men.
    Scent: 8/10
    Sillage: 8/10
    Longevity: 7/10

  29. :

The opening of this fragrance surprised me like I was not expecting. It is fairly linear and all I get is pretty much lavender mixed with lemon and pineapple I find this to be ahead of it’s time. 3 sprays to the chest performed great with 7 hours longevity until I had to remove my shirt.
    Update:
I got rid of it. Smells too dated

About 75% done with mine and let me tell you, I loved this frag way back when I first smelled it, got it again, and still love it.
It has a cloying musk BUT clean/freshness to it.
I would say it’s middle ground between strong and light.
I’ve been wearing this and have gotten nothing but compliments. These days it’s dropped a lot in price and in my opinion, worth the buy.
I’d recommend this in the night but you can pull this off at anytime honestly.
If you hated the Joop like I personally do ( Red One that everyone knows ) then you will love this hands down.

I agree with trinity13, it’s really a masterpiece – and it lasts forever! The lavender is amazing here, as it does not smell medicine-like, it’s perfectly blended with citruses and the wonderful green notes. Juniper is also very delicate here but present – truly noble combo!

Smells like eternity but with a pineapple twist at the top. Lasts alot longer too with better sillage. It’s a good value if you see it at a local discount store buy it. it’s a safe blind buy if you like eternity.

    Krapp’s Last Tape
Instantly went into present-to-friends category of mine. This was my second joop(after joop!) and will be my last from this company,And yes I blind bought it based on the great reviews here. it’s the incarnation of the word synthetic. I wanted to use it as a gym scent, but it’s really childish even for that demography, at this price range and genre, Mont Blanc Legend Intense and Bentley Azure are much much better alternatives, not to mention Cool Water, dust of which Nightflight cannot even bite.
projection: good in the first hour, then becomes a skin scent
    Longevity: is really good
Context: warm(not hot) weather, casual wearing, teenagers
    Value for Money: pffffff

  37. :

Another imitation of Calvin Klein’s Eternity for Men. If I smell them right next to each other I can detect the differences, but the differences aren’t enough to be overly concerned with.

  38. :

    3 out of 5

To me this is a slightly above average fresh scent, with no qualities that make it stand out above others besides performance. This is related to the original Joop in name only. I get a very strong and sour citrus off the top which doesn’t change a ton on dry down. If I were in charge of the formulation I would dump the lemon note (which is incredibly strong and sour) and make the pineapple dominant. Alas on me the lemon just overpowers and is a little too strong and synthetic to ever be pleasant or refreshing. Not bad for the price but you can do better.
Performance: 8/10. This performs very well for a fresh scent, almost too much so for the hottest days of summer.
Scent: 6/10. Just a little above average, considering you can get any superior freshies for about the same price point (ie Nautica Voyage, Versace Man Eau Fraiche, Perry Ellis Red)

Not bad at all. I, like others here, may have dismissed this scent because of the Joop name, but it’s good. Something pleasant and fresh. The lavender and pineapple stand out on my skin which gives it a slightly fruity, detergent/soap feeling but not in a bad way or over the top. It’s something you would use when you can’t decide and just want to smell good. Blind bought for cheap at a discounter and glad I did. Would be good for work or casual use. A spring day outside is what I see when I smell this one.

  42. :

I bought this as a blind buy since I am super fan of the original “Joop!”. Excellent, repeat excellent frag from Joop/Coty. Very fresh and soapy (in a good way. I personally don’t like soapy frags except this one). I sense some of the same notes as the original Curves for men.
This frag actually has longevity and projection. In fact, I get better longevity from this than I do with the reformulation of Joop Homme. This has surged to the top of my list of summer frags. It may not be groundbreaking but it’s a sure bet. This won’t offend anyone and is sure to please.
Don’t be afraid of the name on the box.I understand the name Joop turns many collectors off but don’t overlook this one. Nothing like original Joop. For $14/2.5oz at TJ Maxx, you can go wrong!
    A+

Not a fan of the top notes, (too much like PH Heir,) just ok for me and middle notes are enjoyable but when it gets to the base and there’s no place else to go your jaw will drop. Lasts a long time and you will find yourself sniffing yourself over and over.

  45. :

Name is very nice along with packaging and bottle. It has a bit that deep night effect but could be worn any time. Bit different from mass citric and aquatics.
    overall so good.

  46. :

This is another one of those reformulations that just stand out. The newer version by Coty is more of a fruity perfume concoction whereas the vintage Lancaster version is heavy with oak moss and has a very nice spice on top of the citrus.

As I’m not a fan of Joop! Homme,I was suprised that I actually liked Night Flight.
Clean & fresh, slightly soapy. Not the powerhouse that other reveiwers have suggested.
Along with Joop! Go,this is one I would buy again.
Reminds me of another fave of mine:One Man Show by Jacques Bogart, but much lighter.

  48. :

    4 out of 5

Nightflight comes in a great looking bottle and the opening is super fresh and well done. After the first five minutes however, it turns sickening sweet and until the scent recovers to something more natural and balanced, it takes 2~3 hours.
I bought it because I was looking for pineapple scent other than Aventus or Legend – in that regard it was a failure.
Performance is good though. Which secures Nightflight its place as a night out scent when you want to smell different from the Allures of this world without compromise on performance.

Beautiful bottle with the famous Joop sprayer, king of application. So what do I think of the smell? Fresh. Freshly fresh. Freshly, deodorant stick and detergent powder fresh. Now what does this mean? Well, it simply means the fragrance is, unfortunately, something mundane. There’s nothing here that you haven’t smelled before, but that’s not a full review. If there’s anything this is good at, it’s irrefutably the projection- another Joop expectation that it certainly lives up to. This is the first fragrance for me that only lasts a moderate amount of time- maybe 6 hours- but with great projection the entire ride. Sad to say it *did* become obnoxious on me. Perhaps I oversprayed? It may be a boring scent, and the notes sadly all cluster together with nothing recognizable to my nose. I doubt you’d impress anyone wearing this. However, one can do muuuuch worse. I won’t be wearing this huge 4.2oz bottle again, but that’s not to say it’s because it was a bad experience. It’s just too immature and safe for my tastes. Despite that, I do recommend it for a casual scent. I just wouldn’t want people to know me for it.

In 1992, this fragrance came to the market to conquer men who didn’t surrender to the aroma and the success of Joop! Homme, from 1989. And it was necessary to abandon the sweet and nighttime aspect and go for something more light and daytime, which could suit the taste of all, usually called for us as a wildcard fragrance. Arose, then, another success of Joop! brand, with greater acceptance and keeping the same quality.
In my opinion, they just missed in the name. Nightflight should have been called Dayflight, focusing on the idea of a more versatile and daytime fragrance. But let’s get down to business!
It consists of output notes of pineapple, bergamot, lemon and a touch of coriander. The heart features a masculine floral of jasmine, Lily of the Valley (muguet), rosewood, geranium, roses and almonds. At the bottom, denser notes of sandalwood, amber, musk and tonka bean.
The result is an initial citrus aroma, which lasts for a long time, taking into consideration that this accord is more volatile and is at the top of the olfactory pyramid. After about 40 minutes, the floral heart appears, almost out of nowhere, overlapping the citric side and changing the fragrance completely. It is, without a doubt, the big secret of this creation, with emphasis on the notes of jasmine, geranium and almonds. So, when you think that has nothing more to come, the Sandalwood joins the tonka bean and a smooth and creamy base sticks to the skin, like a protective layer, which gives the impression of a fresh and hydrated skin.
Nightflight shows a totally opposite side of the standard Joop! man. And although it is far from being a bomb like its predecessor, has good projection and high durability.

Love this little gem, I blind bought a 30ml bottle last year and although it does smell a bit synthetic it still smells good and it last. It is different from other fragrances and it is a shame that it is discontinued. I have bought a 75ml bottle and I will keep buying this as there seems to be a lot of them going around on eBay still.

I got it today blind in a very affordable price and I am very happy that I did. I would like to thank all the reviewers here that I based on. All I can say is that I loved this from the very first sniff. I can characterize it as an aromatic fougere and not as oriental one. Ok it is a bit synthetic but very acceptable and interesring creation by joop!. I thing one of the best of this house that will get many compliments from people around. It is very versatile and can be worn any time any season.
If I could use one word to describe it I would use the word”extrovert” but I will have the opportunity to check it better because I have it only a few time on my wrist but I have a sense that this flight will be very pleasant, long and daring!!!

    well…
During the first 10 minutes it reminds me of Bijan Nude.
During the dry down I get this plastic note that I cannot stand… 🙁
Probably not compatible with my skin.
Too bad coz I got the 125ml bottle and don’t know what to do with it!
    UPDATE:
ok, i gave this another try (a less biased one).
It’s not that special. Ok, wait for the dry down, which is really good.
But longevity is not that good.
I still kinda smell the ‘plastic’ note.
I guess I’ll use it as a room scent? Or for the gym?

This is the scent which planted the seed for Mont Blanc Legend and A&F Fierce, although it’s nowhere near as bold. Considering how solid those two fragrances are, I’m surprised Nightflight is not more well known; perhaps it was just ahead of its time.
I’ll admit I had some Joop! prejudice before buying, but seeing all these positive reviews made me think twice. The initial blast is a touch alcoholic, but don’t worry as it will settle down quickly and become everything you hoped.

Really good, strong – projection and superb longevity perfumes.Clean aroma, but “decorates” some fruits , spicy which makes it markedly oriental, too. This is the unique aroma scent for sure, with the pinch of warm summer night, romanticism and high jinks…
    …….
    8,5/10
….and women like it a lot- i’ts checked..:-)

Nightflight is very nice. A really clean, fresh, fruity, soapy scent. Reminds me a little of GBH Wings. It has some facets that evolve and emerge over time on your skin. Starts with fruits, bubblegum and lavender – emtremely zesty, sharp and fresh, but I have to say, a bit synthetic. A little later the pineapple comes forward a little – still stays fresh and clean. After a while, I start to smell almonds with fruit – this phase is quite subtle but still very nice. A little later I’m sure I can smell a little licorice mixed in there. All the time it smells great though. Longevity and sillage are only moderate – but the sillage itself is really gorgeous and attention grabbing. Nightflight is a well blended fragrance and it’s strangely good.

This was a blind buy for me, and I found it extremely disappointing. I can’t detect any pineapple note whatsoever, and as other reviewers have mentioned it’s extremely soapy. Basically, it smells like soap/laundry detergent. After wearing this I’ve asked a few people for their opinion, and nobody has liked it. I’m inclined to agree with their assessment. I find it to be an extremely simple, linear scent, lacking the complexity and detail of fragrances from the likes of Armani. Of course for the price this is to be expected to some degree, but I think one can do much better even taking this into account. It’s (relatively) cheap, and smells like a cheap perfume. Joop Homme on the other hand…. if you want Joop, thats the way to go.

I blind ordered Joop! Nightflight. I am not by any means an expert, I might have had 8 colognes in my 19 years, but I do wish to share my experience. I loved it. It smells fresh and strong. It smells lusty in a classy way. Highly recommended. Masculine in a gentle way. Great for the cheap price. It is definitely a Summer scent, but I’m not sure whether it is a day or night cologne. I will update in a few days to comment on longevity, key scents, time of day, and sillage.
I found that is very long lasting! Especially on clothes. It is very strong a overwhelming at first but within 20min. it calms down and the sillage is just right.

I get no pineapple. Just lots of sourness. Very, very sour. I wish I could smell the pineapple because the high-pitched citrus really needs some tempering. Not a bad fragrance, though. Has impressive staying power for a “fresh” number. I’ll bet this stuff was a welcome departure from the 80s powerhouses when it came out in ’92. It smells like 1992.

If this thing had tobacco then its name gonna be versace dreamer.I can see now where versace took his inspiration from to make the dreamer, not only the dreamer but ALL modern aromatic frags took inspiration from the king nightflight.Overall dreamer + sculpture=Nightflight
Nightflight opens with a HUUUUGE on your face pineapple/Lemon combo which i found it ultra strong, thick, soapy, fresh and kinda too much. Not bad but this one is a citrus bomb.In the drydown it s
