Description

Nicole Richie, the adopted daughter of American singer Lionel Richie, became famous as a reality TV star of the show “The Simply Life” with Paris Hilton. Since 2008, she began to engage in design of accessories and fashion design. Her first fragrance is simply called Nicole, coming out on the market in Sept 2012.

The fragrance was inspired by the scents of various lotions and oils, which her mother used when Nicole was a little girl. “I have a very traditional Southern mom — you never left the house without lotion. Over her lotion went oil and perfume — she was very put together from head to toe. It wasn’t just a one-dimensional smell — there were many different layers”, explained Richie to wwd.

To create this perfume, she collaborated with Steve DeMercado of Fragrance Resources and TPR Holdings Company LLC. The composition opens with aromas of juicy blackberries and oranges from Seville, which are followed by golden amber, Moroccan rose, lily of the valley and papyrus, layered over the base of cashmere, sandalwood, sugared patchouli and vanilla absolute.

Nicole designed the bottle in collaboration with Dale Brandon Kan. The box combines Art Nouveau and vintage styles.

Nicole by Nicole Richie is available as 50 and 100 ml EDP with additional body lotion and shower gel.

I had this as a teenager and it’s not the most memorable thing I’ve ever smelt. Very nice scent for younger audiences, but it’s about as linear and uncomplicated as your average body splash or lotion with a similar note listing. Really, if you grab anything with a high enough quality dollop of amber off the shelf at the drugstore, you will find it very similar to this. That said, it is pretty; it’s all liquidy amber with bright patchouli and bright fruity blackberry. There’s a soft and interesting presence of wood in the drydown, mixing the dusty cashmere wood note with greenish papyrus. The whole thing is quite balanced and fresh. The price is on point for what you get. 2.5/5.

This smells really good. It does remind me of Fancy Nights a bit but much more wearable. Fancy Nights was a bit overpowering to me. I really love the scent but the sillage is not there, so I wont be rebuying this one. Its a skin scent & I really dont like skin scents. I dont want to knock people over but if they pass me or talk to me I want them to be able to at least know im wearing a perfume. Some people like skin scents, if so this is for you as it does smell very good. Its patchouli, blackberry & something making it soft/sexy..i guess either the amber or cashmere.

oh my…simply intoxicating! I could bathe in this…can’t stop sniffing my arm.
I bought this by following the nose Steve DeMercado. I also have and love Fancy Nights, Queen Latifah and Queen all by the same nose and they are all gorgeous. This one is angels little sister. It is very well blended. Blackberries, vanilla, amber and patchouli…..so delicious. Slight sillage. I just put it on so not sure how long it lasts.

    Under the radar. Underrated. Underappreciated.
Nicole is a beautiful scent using the popular trifecta of amber/woods/vanilla. It does smell familiar – not exactly like anything else, but warm and ambery.
What makes it especially nice is that it’s warm, a bit woody and not too sweet. The patchouli is clean and supports the overall structure of the fragrance rather than overpowering everything.
Its longevity is world class. It’s not a hugely projecting scent, but it lasts forever. I can still smell it distinctly after a full day at the office and a spin class.

I first tested this from a friend at work…she asked me to “blind test” the scent she was wearing,ie, without knowing the brand…notes…ect…or how the bottle looked. So…we spritzed on the tops of both my hands. At first, I was un-impressed…fruity-alcohol harsh-ish.
She told me…go away…and “just wait”…lol…so I did. The scent started developing…and I was wowed!
I returned to her office much later, and said…let me see what you sprayed on me…There it was Nicole Richie.
I must admit, the bottle..”in person” is not as classy as shown in the picture…but Who Cares !! The scent is surprising stunning, if given a chance. It seemed “familiar” to some other scents…and after the mid-way development…I would say, IMO, to my nose it has a L’Instant Guerlain EDT similarity…then changes again in the final dry-down. Great stuff here. I bought a bottle on eBay for $12. A new “guilty pleasure”. If this juice were put in an expensive designer or niche packaging…I would “believe” it. I will say, like a lot of scents…it has moderate only projection/sillage and does end up in the skin scent category …but no matter.
    Underrated gem, IMO. Cheers !

The opening scared me – it was so sweet and I expected another fruitchouli. But it didn’t take long for fruity notes to step aside and let the other notes shine through.
After the drydown all I get is very tender patchouli, amber and hints of vanilla. Somewhere there’s a sign of sandalwood and once present blackberry.
Warm, gentle and just enough sweet nice scent. Not my kind of a fragrance but definitely pleasantly surprised. Smells rather expensive.
    Fall to mid spring suitable.

I’m not getting much patchouli as expected. Its is sweet but thin, light sweet. There is a trace of Kim K Gold with a hint of Jessica Simpson Fancy then some other smell I never smelled before (papyrus???). Whatever note that is smells expensive. This is different. This perfume is like a mood ring. There are different stages and they come out when they want to not when u think they are. Its not BOOM top note BOOM mid note BOOM the base like most perfume. It also acts differently in different weathers and environments.

OMG FINALLY got this just now! this is some nice perfume! First off the box is so nice with a peacock feather. The bottle is absolutely marvelous; I love it! The scent smells expensive for what it cost me $14 with free shipping! It is not heavy or sweet at all! It’s like putting on a lotion actually. I would say if Yves SAin’t Laurent were to make a L’Homme for women this would be it! It is a low key laid back elegant perfume; like a very feminine very light expensive men’s cologne. Will review more with more wears.

Well this blind buy came in today and I am greatly happy it did. I was a bit nervous about trying another celebrity fragrance, well a fragrance from a candy-pop type celebrity anyway. 1st I’d like to agree with several others that Nicole chose a fantastic package designer, hats off to that. It’s probably one of the most beautiful bottles I’ve ever seen or held. The vintage heavy crystal styled glass is almost worth the price in and of itself. Now to the scent. I was amazed by the unique slightly vintage, sultry and elegant aroma of this fragrance, I was surprised at the intensity of the Amber and Cashmere which seemed to stand out so strongly on me, producing an almost intense Spicy Caramel smell, but not a sweet one, a dark sultry one. After about 30 minutes it faded into a pure cashmere amber and patch smell with a noticeable overtone of jasmine. The blend was just amazing and rich. Certainly no weak watery sugar in this fragrance and smells WAY more expensive than it is. I happily place this in the category of other celebrity surprises such as Queen Latifah’s 2 scents, Queen and Queen of Hearts, as well as the over whelming surprise known as Fancy Nights. Though they all have their own smell, this fits into the spicy, dark, sultry category very nicely. I didn’t get much berry, orange or some of the other notes like Rose…thankfully. Like most of us of course, we can be hard on a fragrance we love when it fades or doesn’t last all day, sometimes I think we demand too much “Time” out of an evaporative liquid. It seemed to last about 6-7 good hours on me before a small re-application is required. It’s certainly a 9/10 and my hat’s off to the nose behind this scent. I think sometimes we have to remember, that although a celebrity may attach their name/banner/Note-ideas to a fragrance, that it is the professional nose behind it that can make or break a fragrance. I will be searching his other works as he certainly has my vote on this one. Certainly a fragrance worth having in your wardrobe.

I really like this, it’s sweet and fresh. the blackberry is very prominent so you might want to stay away from Nicole if you don’t like berries. It’s a kind of sweet/sour effect that I really love, leading into amber vanilla and musky musty patchouli. This is very elegant smelling and very well blended, yes it’s very sweet but I love sweet and this is one of the better sweet celeb scents I have tried, it’s not synthetic or plastic-y. I definitly get the euphoria vibe with the sour berries but this is the better of the two imo.UPDATE: I could still smell this on my skin after a shower, so add great longevity to the list of reasons why I love this one 🙂

  11. :

Nicole by Nicole Richie is a very sweet patchouli with a musky vanilla base and a blackberry-papyrus blend. I love the 1920’s art deco bottle, but to me the bottle does not match the scent. This smells more like the 80’s (a little 70’s) to me! It is a bold scent! Think big hair and shoulder pads, something a little over-the-top that really makes you stand out with a vintage vibe. I love the 80’s/70’s eras and I am really enjoying this fragrance! Once the patchouli calms down, the scent soften a little and I can smell the rest of the notes. Nice change of pace, definitely not your “typical” celebrity scent.

I honestly hated this the first couple times I tried it, then my daughter put it on one day and it smelled so good on her. Clean and mildly fruity, just lovely. I gave it one more chance the other day and it was great. Spray lightly is my advice.

Boy, does this fragrance tell a story! I loved the entire ride!
Nicole is a sweet, college-aged gal that comes from a good family. She didn’t grow up with money, but somehow always managed to look polished and put together. Physically, she is stunning. Her good grades opened the door to an out of state school and she jumped at the chance to spread her wings. With one good spray it becomes clear that things aren’t going as planned. A blast of stale beer brings to mind that the inebriated loser passed out next to her is going nowhere in life. She sits up in bed and surveys the mess around her. Snuffed out vanilla candles, broken bottles of patchouli and amber oils, and the faint scent of sandalwood incense linger throughout the room. Yesterday was their two year anniversary and she was sure that romance was on the agenda. Instead, without a call or text, he went out with the guys and got hammered… again. He stumbled home in the dark and destroyed the bedroom in his failed attempt to get undressed. As she picks up the patchouli bottle, she is reminded of the day he bought it for her at the head shop around the corner. It was a dirty patchouli, but she told herself that it was the thought that counted. It is then that she notices his phone vibrating on the floor. It’s a message from a girl he met last night and it’s obvious that they are more than just friends. She opens the window for some fresh air and all of the aromas from the room dance circles around her before retreating through the open window. Everything becomes clear. She calmly packs her belongings, grabs a quick shot of orange juice, and leaves her key on the counter. Just like that, beautiful Nicole is gone forever. Go get em, girl!
    Scent: 7.5/10
    Sillage: 3/10
    Longevity: 3/10

I am having to eat crow more and more with regards to patchoulli fragrances…I used to avoid them across the board…now I find I do better to test first-read later! This is so warm and lovely, it might end up my first patch-centric perfume if it lasts for awhile. I have no complaints about the patchouli in this and only admiration for the scent as a whole. That wasn’t too hard to swallow….

  15. :

This bottle…is everything! The scent is gorgeous and along the same lines as euphoria…but more…twangy if that makes since.I believe this patchouli is more sweet than Ck used in his euphoria line…Ck’s is more dirty (in a good way!).Loads of vanilla here that’s for sure!Oddly I truly believe Nicole really uses this…I’d imagine her to smell like this 🙂

  16. :

Very soft sillage. It smells like a very, very light patchouli palm-tree.
It’s as is someone had sprayed any generic patchouli fragrance of the last few years on a few dry-ish straps of palm frond. Odd.
    Likeable, yes.
    Remarkable, no.
it’s nice enough, but I fully admit that I bought this one for the bottle 🙂

So me again today at shoppers drug mart knowing that they are major discounting so many perfumes to make room for xmas stuff….well this was on for 5.99!!! This to me smells exactly like CK euphoria, like identical! This is not my typical fragrance, but I’m going to give it a decent try. It is the first perfume I’ve ever worn with patchouli in it, I almost always find those perfumes to smell very earthy, almost like grass and dirt this one however doesn’t. I hope I grow to love it, since it was so cheap! …..to be continued!

Nicole was a blind buy, and I am quite pleased that I actually like it. This is a clean yet softly dreamy scent; makes me think of the times I would go to the bookstore, get a strong cup of coffee, and simply sit there and read to my heart’s content. This tends to be a comforting scent for me.
The notes in Nicole are balanced well, including the amber and sandalwood. This fragrance is definitely worth more than its price point, and I will repurchase it when my bottle is used up. Speaking of bottles…this truly is a heavy and lovely bottle. I am impressed!

I bought this on sale $25 Aussie , I love the bottle , Art Deco gorgeous on my shelf. This scent is so, so soft on my skin a lovely creamy vanilla musk, after 7 sprays . I do like it!

A blind buy which sadly I don’t like.
It reads so well in the make up, and there are so many positive comments about it.
Its just sooo heavy, more the “candied patchouli” perhaps. I don’t get any of the creamy, pretty, soft and light!
    “Sweet and green” ???
I will be giving my bottle away.

I’m impressed with the packaging. The bronze box has Art Deco/Nouveau detailing with turquoise lining, very nice. The bottle itself was inspired by Art Deco, the Eiffel tower and the heyday of Baccarat crystal. Nice!. The scent does smell creamy and soft, like layering lotions and potions indeed, however the lasting power is really poor, and almost no sillage.

  22. :

To me this is a nice woody sweet green scent. I love the bottle so much. Big heavy chunky bottles are the best in my opinion. The box for this is very chic. The actual scent is amazing. I didn’t think I was going to like it but I love it. This sits close to my skin but last for about 8-9 hours on me so I love it. I can’t get enough of this perfume. I would 100% re-buy this. Nicole please release more perfumes in the future. This gets a 8/10 from me xo

Soapy sweet vanillery rose with a patchouli sprinkle. I am glad I didn’t blind buy this one. If sweety sweet pretty powdery soapiness is your thing then Nicole is probably a fine example of the genre. It’s not my thing.

  24. :

this is a long lasting celebrity perfume. it also smells more expensive than it is. it’s a lovely sweet patchouli, but not overpowering.. the notes seem to be balanced nicely. overall, it lasts all day a good 8 hrs at least and the bottle is quite pretty.

  25. :

    5 out of 5

Nicole is my perfume of the week but I was confused at first. It’s really the first time that I’ve noticed the differences in performance depending on where I’ve sprayed on my skin.
I wouldn’t normally wear perfume on the back of my hand but that’s where I have to wear it to get lovely soft moderately sweet patchouli with berries which lasts for a few hours. Delicious!
Different story on the wrist. More of a green undertone which may be the lily-of-the-valley. It’s still nice, but no berries and not as strong.
I don’t think the amber is as strong as depicted in the pyramid but it melds together into a beautiful base along with the vanilla and sandalwood.
Nicole is a sophisticated fragrance, not overpowering at all. I’ll be keeping an eye out for other products to layer with.

WOW!19 hrs, crazy. I sprayed this on Monday at 2 pm from a tester on the perfume counter I could still smell it when I was getting in the shower at 9 am the next morning. And that was 1 spray to my left wrist tapped onto my right one. It’s a good thing I liked the way it smells, Think I will get a bottle for the collection 🙂

The dry down of this reminds me of revlon pink happiness. Very feminine but not too sweet.

  28. :

    3 out of 5

This is a wonderful body spray, but too weak to be called eau de parfum. I get mostly amber vanilla, with lots of dried roses mixed with 1 fresh white rose, a touch of honey, and a good deal of sweet yet mossy patchouli. This is one of the few fragrances where I actually believe it could have been inspired by what the advertising copy says it was inspired by. To me, it actually does smell like layering of body oils, lotion, shower gel and hair conditioner. But when I wear it,I have to layer the Nicole body lotion with the perfume AND carry a roll-on in my purse to avoid being frustrated by its lack of longevity. So don’t spend too much. My giftset was only about $25, so I don’t feel ripped off as I use it up fast.

  29. :

    3 out of 5

I love all the notes in Nicole by Nicole Richie, especially the sweet patchouli. The bottle is beautiful, and it is one of the fragrances I leave unboxed on my vanity tray.
Many nights, this is the last thing I smell before I go to sleep. This is a really soothing scent to me. Just before bed, I spray this generously, and enjoy it. Every part of me is in love with fragrance right before slumber.
It’s a shame it doesn’t last on me for daytime wear, because I do love it.

  30. :

    4 out of 5

I really liked this scent but the sillage and longevity is awful. I don’t think I could keep up with trying to smell like this for a full day.

  31. :

    5 out of 5

I agree thoroughly with HappyCapybara’s review below…this is a sugared amber/patch/sandalwood scent. I feel like I have a couple of bottles of things that are similar: Nirvana Black sits in this niche a little more successfully, Euphoria, Flowerbomb reminiscent but maybe better because it’s more subtle, La Vie Est Belle (I prefer the dry down of Nicole to the dry down of LVEB) etc. It’s not incredibly long lasting, and while the initial sillage is lovely, it does down in about 30 minutes.

  32. :

    3 out of 5

Nicole is a sweet, orange, amber, vanilla patchouli nicely done celebrity fragrance that is presently available at a huge discount. I have noticed the longevity is not outstanding so I layer with her body lotion and that keeps the fire going a bit longer. With the low price, it is no problem to keep dousing up as necessary. The vintage eiffel tower bottle is darling. The sugary, patchouli affect is something that I enjoy, as a patchouli lover. Lily adds sparkle and papyrus adds depth. This is a pleasing, warm, and overall likable scent that I enjoy wearing from time to time. Nice job Nicole!

The bottle, the juice and even the cap make this an overall beauty to me. I fell in love with this after my friend blindly purchased it in TJ Maxx. I begged her for it but she refused to let me buy it from her. Sadly it was the last bottle on the shelf. The next day I found it online for a steal and ordered it asap! I think it is best in winter because it is a bit heavy, but still perfect! The patchouli and papyrus stand out to me. The silage and longevity are a 10. I want a backup already!

  34. :

    3 out of 5

Okay, okay, I bought this for the lovely art deco bottle. I was hoping I’d be wrong and love the fragrance, but alas, despite so many positive reviews, I just don’t care much for it. I think it’s likely the patchouli that is off putting for me. I have a few select fragrances with patchouli, but they are somewhat sweeter than this. I love amber as a fragrance note, but for me, I mostly get patchouli. I don’t smell the berry or citrus at all, and I also don’t get a lot of floral in this. I’m glad it was so cheap, because it really is just going to be a pretty bottle with unused perfume. For someone who likes this type of scent check out TJ Maxx, because I got a 1.7 oz. for only $10.00. Maybe I’ll try mixing this with something else, just so it doesn’t go to waste.
Edit: I’ve decided I like this a lot more than I’d originally thought. In fact, it’s lovely. It has a sophisticated vibe that so many fruity florals just lack. To me, this is sexy and alluring. The longevity might not be the best, but I don’t find it to be that bad either. A perfume I’d originally bought for the bottle, is now going to actually be used. So glad I bought this.

This perfume smells just like Euphoria. I’m surprised alot more people don’t think so. After initial application of both perfumes, Euphoria has a stronger and smoother scent. Nichole, I find is a little more sharp and can smell somewhat bitter. The dry down is exactly the same with the exception that Nicole is not as intense. I like to use Euphoria for date nights as it smells really alluring. I use Nicole on just casual nights out with my friends.
I think this is one of the more mature celeb scents kind of like Hilary Duff with love. Totally worth your money.
And, I don’t think this smells like Jessica Simpson Fancy Nights. I don’t think anything smells like Fancy Nights. It’s quiet strong and distinct.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

Is this one similar to Fancy Nights by Jessica Simpson?

  37. :

    5 out of 5

Patchouli as the #1 most intense note made me nervous. The more perfumes I try with patch, the more I realise I really love it! “sugared” patchouli is really a key term for this fragrance – sweetness to nullify the sharpness.
Papyrus is a smell that does remind me of paper, but don’t worry – the cashmere and tangy woods mellow everything out. As another reviewer said, Nicole is a “symphony” of notes.
The staying power is on the light side, so expect to touch up ~3 times per day. Don’t be afraid to spritz your scarf or cardigan, too.

  38. :

I really love this perfume. It’s perfect for those cold winter days. I think one of my favorite things about this is actually the bottle itself. It’s very funky and unique looking and I love anything different.

  39. :

One of my personal fragrances; woody and unique. I’ve heard news that she has a new one coming out called “No Rules”. Did anyone else on here hear any news on this?

  40. :

    4 out of 5

I was expecting this to be really good…but, All I got on my skin from Nicole is heavy amber and florals. I didn’t detect any vanilla or sugared patchouli, no blackberries or oranges, nor was it sweet or powdery. Where’s the sweet vanilla patchouli everyone speaks of? Clearly, it doesn’t go with my chemistry.
It does, in fact, remind me of Euphoria–the comparisons to Euphoria is what kept me away from this for so long, but then a lot of people said it’s nothing like Euphoria and a great choice for lovers of amber and vanilla. But alas, it is reminiscent of Euphoria IMO—as a matter of fact, it’s a scent I’ve smelled a thousand times before.. Very unoriginal and smells like many others out there. It also reminds me of Victoria’s Secret’s Dark Orchid Seduction.. A lighter version of it, really. I don’t like Euphoria or dark orchid. Both are sickening. Sooo, obviously , this is a big fail. To me, this has that sharp amber I can’t stomach.. Some ambers are more vanillic or balsam heavy–not the amber in Nicole. It’s a big mess of florals and the kind of amber you would find in Thierry Mugler’s Alien. The cashmere and Amber is the only notes I could pinpoint for sure..I guess I detect traces of Rose as well. I was really wishing to feet the sugared patchouli vanilla sandalwood thing from Nicole. Oh well. Not my cup of tea. And definitely a cool floral frag rather than a sweet, warm vanilla…

I love love love this fragrance. This is my favorite scent and I have a very large
collection. I love the sweet patchouli and enjoy layering it with some of my oud scents that are in need of something sweeter. I am so in love with this,I will purchase a few more bottles for my use and not for collection purposes (even though the bottle is divine).

I smelt this back when it was “new” at Macy’s. Today while in TJ MAXX I blind in a way purchased this for $7.00. I knew when I smelled it originally at Macy’s I was not a fan. Smells like an identical copy to Rihanna’s Rebel Flur’. Which also in turn smells like Kim Kardashian’s “True Reflection”, and out of the three, I am selling Nicole, and Rihanna. Kim’s TR wears better on me. Shame that Nicole’s smells like everything else out there. The bottle is so unique. I will be selling it asap.

‘Nicole’ was my first foray into the world of celebrity fragrances after a lifetime of religiously avoiding them. I just couldn’t resist and I’m so glad I didn’t. To me, the sugared patchouli is a stroke of genius, it’s rich and delicious and so so moreish which makes me slightly sad because it’s a fleeting, hard to hold down pleasure. Just as you want to go deeper into it, it’s gone. It leaves in its wake an utterly delicious creamy and sweet long lasting vanilla but I still crave more of that dusty (I think this is the papyrus), earthy, sweet patchouli note. It’s unlike anything else and for that I think Nicole deserves praise and a place in my collection. I love the bottle and the juice inside it, shame about the longevity but despite that it’s still a keeper, it’s too gorgeous not to be.

  44. :

    4 out of 5

While I find many celebrity fragrances to be “one note”, to me Nicole is more of a symphony. It’s well balanced and has depth. I also adore the bottle. I found the gift set for $22 on Amazon and it was a steal in my opinion.

  45. :

    5 out of 5

I’ve been using this frag off and on for a few months, along w/ the lotion and shower gel. Only sprayed it here and there but always sniff the bottle.
On me it opens with a LOT of reedy/parchment like smell. PAPYRUS!! (Similar to ‘fern’ notes in others scents I’ve seen.) A lot of cashmeran, too, a dry woody kind of white musk. I perosnally find this much better than celeb woody cousin Fancy Nights where the patch really drowned the papyrus.
Dries down in 2-3 hours to a more vanilla/soft amber warm base that is very pleasant up close. This is dry reed smell in a bottle and it transforms quite a bit to this vanilla base, and I do love changers in my perfumes! =D
I find it interesting and somehow soothing. Again I always end up sniffing the bottle but not wearing it much. May swap it to someone who will give it use but I do enjoy how different it is from everything else I own.

  46. :

I will admit right now that I dislike patchouli so I usually avoid reviewing these types of scents as I’m clearly biased, but I wanted to write that this is a patchouli bomb. I couldn’t smell an other notes. No amber, vanilla or fruits. Luckily it didn’t last very long on my arm anyway.
This would be ideal if you wanted to layer some sweet patchouli with another perfume, but on its own it isn’t particularly interesting.

OMG!! Aside from “Ralph Lauren Hot,” this is probably literally my favorite fragrance I own (and my collection includes over 150 fragrances, both male and female.)
When I bought my very first bottle of this about a year and a half ago…I thought the longevity and projection was horrible. As I’m a couple years into my fragrance “experience” or “career” now…I’m realizing that you really have to start realizing the difference between a fragrance having no longevity and sillage versus your sense of smell just being numbed to the fragrance and not recognizing the fragrance is still there.
    So here’s the story:
One night I was working my second job (which is at a restaurant here in Pennsylvania.) And anyway, it was just this past week…on a night it was REALLY cold, and I just really was missing and craving the smell of this. So…I decided to wear it. My shift started at 5PM and an entire 4 hours later a customer that was walking towards me, but I kid you not guys…she was still a good 8-9 feet away from me, AND I hadn’t re-applied the fragrance at all in those 4 hours, and the woman out loud was like “Omg, someone around here smells like…amazing!” And since my co workers know me as the fragrance guru…they all pointed to me and said, “It’s probly this guy right here.” lol. But after that…I realized I should start utilizing people around me to know whether the fragrance really isn’t a longevity monster…or if perhaps it is…and I just don’t know it because I’m used to the fragrance after the first hour or so. So…I immediately started asking my co workers right after that customer walked out the door. And yep…to my surprise…it was just me. EVERYONE literally that I was working with…said they had been getting whiffs of it all night and the fragrance hadn’t weakened much at all.
So I apologize to this fragrance and I gotta give credit where it’s due.
I now update my review and stats of the fragrance’s performance to the opposite end of the scale lol.
I thought all this time I only got between 90 minutes to 2 hours max from this fragrance.
But now…I know I actually get about 5-6 hours.
Same thing with sillage. I thought it projected 6 inches to a foot off of me. But I now know this fragrance (when sprayed generously) can fill an entire room.
And as for the scent itself… as stated earlier…I’m absolutely in love. One of my top 5 fragrances that I own and I own hundreds. It’s amazing. So warm, so comforting, the best, most modern, and sweetest twist on patchouli I’ve ever smelled. This fragrance is versatile with age also. Can be worn by an 18 year old…or can be worn by a 45 year old. Really doesn’t matter. And this smells good on either gender. Really doesn’t matter. It’s a beautifully made fragrance! Even the bottle and box is gorgeous.
TWO THUMBS UP NICOLE!! Amazing job on this one!

Opening notes of Nicole bring to mind the snapping open of a ripe peach, fresh from a market stand. You break it in half, the pit still in place, and inhale the juicy fruit in all its’ delicious ripeness. Nothing synthetic, pure freshness, you can almost feel the juice dripping. Add fresh-churned vanilla ice cream, the kind you get from dairy farms in the country. Vanilla ice cream that has a fresh flavor and aroma to it unlike no other because it was just churned today with fresh milk from dairy cows. Now add the sweet patchouli. And this is a sweet, mellow you can eat patchouli.
Nicole wears very lightly unless you layer it or use a moisturizing trick to get the fragrance to last longer. I use a very sheer veil of vaseline first on my skin, then spray the perfume. Any perfume I have that doesn’t have good longevity suddenly lasts for hours on me.
I really love this scent. It’s full-bodied, creamy, rich with its ambery, spicy feel. Not too fruity at all, the peach is more of a rum type or a boozy impression.
The bottle is what drew me in, tho. It reminds me of the Eiffel Tower. It sits neatly in my hand, easy to spray and is art deco and just pretty to display.
I love wearing this now during the winter-watching the snow fall and hearing the winds blow. Its notes are warm, sensual and comforting. I do wish it lasted longer, but todays perfumes unfortunately do not, it seems. But, taking into consideration how wonderful the opening is, and how to make it last, Nicole really is nice.

This inexpensive gem is very obviously from the same nose responsible for Vince Camuto…these aren’t twins but very nearly identical cousins. Nicole is a bit sweeter and has an edge of citrus. Give it 20 minutes to dry down from it’s initial sharp notes and you really do get a warm, comforting smell that is an echo of Vince Camuto without the booze. Love it.

I like this a lot. The drydown smells like amber and honey when it mixes with my body chemistry. I got it for the surprisingly low price of $7.99 at Marshall’s, so I can’t complain. It’s soft, light, comforting, and somewhat unique.

I like, almost love, Nicole Richie as I do most fragrances by Steve Demercado. I bought my bottle of Nicole at Ross for $20 (thanks for that tip, JungleRed).
My first impression of Nicole is seville orange brushed with berry and then almost immediately the fragrance dries to amber, vanilla and patchouli with just a hint of papyrus.
On me Nicole is a lighter, and gentler version of Fancy Nights, similar to Queen but without the boozey aspect. I think that Steve Demercado is at his best when he works with these warmer fragrances. I have several others he has created but these three (by far the least expensive) are my favorites of his and Nicole is probably the most wearable. On me Nicole projects well, lasts about six hours on my skin and up to twenty four plus on clothing.

I received a small sample of this in a Birchbox, and immediately thought it smelled way too similar and sweet. Fast forward 6 months later, and I find a 1.7 oz bottle for $14.99 at Marshall’s. Kind of forgetting my original impression of the perfume, I went ahead and made a blind buy. First, I
