Wonderful affordable niche perfume ! Armani Code was based on this Girard original formula. It’s very hard to tell any difference between New York Nights and Armani Code. If anything, New York Nights is a bit more rich in composition and quality. New York Nights is extremely long lasting, with consistent moderate projection. It smells expensive, beautifully balanced, elegant, fresh and classy. Perfect to wear any time, any season.

It’s quite floral yet light and still refreshing great staying power.
Has a little bit of old fashioned feel to me like New York in the 20,s but that’s whats nice about it .i don’t get oriental like others do more straight up floral and a little sandalwood, summery days not nights so much but it’s just deep enough to warrant nights in its name.
Wasn’t a favourite of mine just ok really.

I have a 50ml which is my go to sexy fragrance for night. I keep trying to get a back up bottle of New York Nights on ebay but they are scarce and when one does pop up they mostly go for a ridiculous amount of money 🙁 considering what they cost orginally….Much to my delight i happened to spray Bench Urban original womens edt on me today and it smells so similiar to New York Nights that I cannot tell the difference but my nose is not that well trained so maybe others could. The Bench bottle is also a lovely dark red plum colour with pink writing.
Bench is maybe not as deep or powdery and is definately not as long lasting on me as New York Nights but the smell is pretty darn close to New York Nights, lovely fragrance New York Nights, so sad discontinued but happy to have found something similiar and reasonably priced 🙂 Give Bench a go and see what you think….

Luckily I bought it on Ebay for 4£ (50ml) and only because I checked reviews before. What a surprise! Alien and Gabriela Sabatini in one. So beautiful, and unisex, however it will be gifted to my hubby for his B-day.
It’s less agressive than Alien TM and managed to stay on my hand and wrist after shower.
It’s second Girard’s fragrance in my wardrobe and I’m very surprised how nice both are. And bottles are amazingly well finished – simple but beautiful.
I would defnitelly recommend for Alien’s fans.

I received this perfume as a gift nearly 2 years ago but didn’t open it until a few weeks ago. Much to my surprise this is a very beautiful fragrance. It’s complex and I get whiffs of the fruity, floral and oriental notes. I don’t agree with it’s classification as a fruity- floral however because the overall aroma is definitely more oriental.I’d say it’s a night out type of scent for sure. I’ve tried Armani Code and I can’t recall how similar it is to New York Nights but more importantly, I certainly didn’t like Armani Code as much as I like this. Another great thing about New York Nights is the affordability. I went into my local Beauty Base yesterday and saw it on promotion-3 bottles (30ml size) for £10 so I promptly re-stocked. While I was there, I took the opportunity to sample Girard’s Bali Sunrise and Provence Spring-neither of these imo are as good as NYN. As long as it’s available,New York Nights will be in rotation with my other favourites.

Definitely smells very, very close to Armani Code–maybe a tad more powdery, but unfortunately on me, the drydown smells like a latex balloon.

Citrusy opening, but still warm and sweet, makes me think of lemon and honey (I guess that the honey feeling might be created by the pear+vanilla+tuberose).
It’s not a light scent, it becomes more flowery in the middle, with the tuberose dominating.
Oriental dry down, with amber and sandalwood.
I like it, but I’d avoid it in hot weather.
To me it gives its best in the fall.
I’ve never tried Armani Code but your reviews are making me curious, I’d like to make a comparison when I can.

I swapped Forever Mariah Carey for this one.
Its a fantastic frag for what I understand the price to be. (this isnt available in Australia)
The statements that this is very close to Armani code I find to be true, I can hardly tell the difference between them. I think maybe the orange Blossom is a little sharper an stays strong longer.
The staying power superb, each time I have worn this it has lasted until my next shower.
I researched this fragrance house and they have a few scents and have been around for a long time producing quality fragrances..
Shame we dont carry them, I would be delighted to sample the others.

It has a very expensive smell to it but it is very inexpensive! Smells warm and fresh at the same time. Definitely a night time scent. Very sexy!

Yes this is VERY similar to Armani Code and is similar to other dark night fragrances like Alien. If you like them, you’ll like this. The fact that it is more affordable than the above is a bonus! The last bottle I got was a fiver on offer at Boots! Has plenty of staying power.

blind buy (pretty non-expensive) and i don’t regret at all!
but i’m shocked (in a good way)! 0.0 New York Nights smells EXACTLY like armani code (my fave ferfume scent but armani code don t like my skin chemstry, it get lost on me in one hour at least).
this one features as well an extra touch powder (tuberose?) in the heart and an extra touch warmth (tonka?)and creaminess (sandalwood?)in the bottom.
i prefere New York Nights to armani code – it’s more complex and interesting about the pear, cassis and rose accords in it as well which ones are giving this composition an extra twist while armani code is rather simple and a bit soapy…
guess the mentioned vintage sensation indeed comes from the powdery tuberose and cassis accord… very nice nice nice intoxicating scent. yammmm!
compare the notes; it’s obvious they are same-same.
New York Nights seems to have more staying power than armani code and more depth of course. i wear it now since 3 hours and it lingers so soft with nice whifts caching when moving around.
though, a very nice summer night out scent. pretty bottle.
love it. very addictive scent…. i will repurchase for shure when run out.

I actually grew to really like this one. The citrusy top notes are a little bit too pungent for me at times (even as an EDT), but the dry-down is warm and spicy; I love how the middle and final notes smell on my skin. I agree with Migotka on the retro-feel of this one. I wouldn’t call it modern at all, either.
I’m also surprised at how NYN is labelled as a floral fruity perfume – for me, there’s an oriental lurking behind this one somewhere. It finishes off with a much warmer feel than most floral fruity fragrances I know and use.
For the price range, it’s actually not a bad buy. And I think it’s definitely one of Girard’s better EDTs – it certainly smells a lot less generic than some of their other fragrances.
Edit: Had a sniff of Armani Code today, and OMG! This is almost exactly the same, or at least it’s very reminiscent of it. If you’d like an affordable alternative to AC, try Girard’s NYN. You won’t be disappointed.

Hmhmhm, New York nights in retro style!
When I first tested it last year I did not like it too much, but yesterday, upon second tests, the fragrance unexpectadly took me on a long voyage all the way to New York of the 1950’s! Fancy party, possibly on a ferry, with a view on Statue of Liberty, glasses of champagne, cheerful laughs and mean comments about other women’s dresses made behind their back.
The scent on me is a little powdery, and, despite the top notes, not very sharp. The citrus notes perfectly balance what follows: a lot of jasmine and sweat, sweat pear. Majestic rose and tuberose add elegance.
As I said, it has a retro touch to it, NYN certainly does not smell very ‘modern’, but this is exactly where its charm lays. Makes me feel of ‘good old times’ in the perfumery world when scents were distinctive and elegant, but at the same time New York Nights is easily approachable.
