Description

Nebbia Fitta (thick fog), where iron and stones along the river have soaked the oxygen. The nothing becomes a dusty being, a travel to the impossible and clinging to that wet and rusty support. Approaches your hand, close your eyes and listen to the silence all around….” – a note from the brand.

Nebbia Fitta was launched in 2017.

    Damp Squib.
I’m from London, so I know thick fog when I smell it – and this isn’t it! Because this juice drifts off quickly in a delicate wisp- rather than hanging over you like a smothering blanket. Fitta is a distinctive, classy, upmarket, muted patchouli scent whose really special opening – oddly sour-woody, like freshly-treated planks, with tangs of damp stone – boils away and evaporates all too soon. After that it’s just low-key, muted, manageable patch with the tiniest pinch of light synthetic oud.
The description here (and on my sample vial from Bloom Perfumes in London) led me to expect something really weird and experimental – going on about damp walls and echoing passageways and all that – but it’s nothing near as mysterious or bizarre as that. (Try Apoteker Tepe’s astonishing Karasu if you really want the smell of damp buildings made scent.)
Fitta is still an interesting, experimental product but just not quite bold enough for me. Unisex – right down the middle, the dominant patchouli is kept well enough under control not to be either too butch or too heady for either gender. Performance seemed poor on me, though – contracts to a skin scent in almost the blink of an eye (maybe 20 minutes in?) and the whole moody effect only lingers for a couple of hours. Sorry, Nebbia – it’s a great idea but needs a bit more work.
