You’re forcing down an iced cocktail of what tastes like Listerine mouthwash, sugar, and kale juice. Let’s say you’re on an interstellar voyage getting tucked in for cryosleep and the doctor has you drinking some sort of futuristic energy blend that combines cleaning products with glucose and vitamins. No, perhaps you’re closer to home, working in manufacturing, a lying “recovering” alcoholic who’s tasting the rainbow on the side, convincing yourself that your co-workers won’t notice this on your breath. Newsflash: they definitely will. 18 Glacialis Terra by L’Artisan Parfumeur.

The opening is an icy-vetiver-absinthe (aka wormwood) accord that immediately transports you to a glacial territory. But this beautiful-amazing accord only lasts for about 20 min, then it becomes a creamy vetiver skin scent with a moderate projection. This is the perfect match for a hot-cruel-summer.

I recently purchased this perfume and I am absolutely in love. Firstly, the bottle is just to die for. It feels so luxurious to display. lately I am very much into niche perfume brands as I am getting tired of the typical common perfumes and smelling the same as many others. I am adoring the l’Artisan Parfumeur brand and am excited to explore more of their perfumes.
As for the scent it is just absolutely beautiful. To me it smells very luxurious. If I were to describe it it would be an expensive soap scent. You can definitely smell the absinthe upon first spray, afterwards it fades away into a clean soap scent. To me it also reminds me of a walk in the forest after it has rained. It has a cool and very crisp feel to it, without being citrussy at all. The vetiver gives it a beautiful earthy touch. Its very difficult to describe and incredibly unique. It reminds me a lot of the Infusion d`Homme Prada for men (which is very unisex to me), which I adore. They share the same luxurious soap scent and crisp notes. This perfume lasts ages on me, whenever I smell my wrist I still smell it all throughout the day. It is a very inoffensive scent and easily worn daily.

This is the first perfume I’ve tried with ice cubes as a note! It’s part of L’Artisan’s Natura Fabularis Collection of six scents, each fantastic imaginary gardens in the ingenious mind of Daphne Bugey. Very creative inspiration and rendering, an homage to nature with a botanical name, and number representing the number of modifications it went through before being deemed ready. In their new black bottle with a golden bee!
This one represents a frozen winter forest, with absinthe, ice cubes and vetiver creating the scentscape. I really wanted to get the icy frozen blast everyone is talking about, and it comes the closest in the opening with a eucalyptus flare that quickly transitions to a vetiver accord, the dominant note. Kept applying and smelling to experience the absinthe, which adds an unusual green touch. A skin scent with limited longevity on me like most L’Artisan perfumes. They are so natural and beautiful, I’m willing to work with this, and Natura Fabularis 18 Glacialis Terra is no exception. Doesn’t stay frozen for too long, but becomes a chilly green mist in the middle of a verdigris field. Green notes, green absinthe and green vetiver. A cool abstract perfume!

This smells icy and cool. But it doesn’t last long and isn’t strong.
March 2017 LuckyScent Sampler Pack.

This starts out a little sweet and creamy with an underlying green note. The vetiver becomes stronger after the first hour and then fades into a creamy base. It is so lovely and projects well. This lasted about 4-5 hours on me. I got one compliment when I was out and about. This is one of my favorites from the new line.
