Tolerable at best. Top note, middle and base are the same… amber!! On the third day I tried it, I finally got the pear noted in the pyramid. At first, amber and acrid, and long lasting at that. Why aren’t the fragrances I love so long lasting?
You might wonder how I got saddled with NL 2017. Fragrantica reviews have both NL fragrances, the original, with the white or pink opaque bottle, and this one… big blue box and clear bottle.
Fragrantica shares some blame, for mixing all the images on the original fragrances page, and it’s not entirely clear why some boxes were blue and others not, with the sames the same, one might just think the design altered packaging. I have to blame NL packaging for not clearly labeling their fragrance. People know at this point the way marketers label flankers, and this example is an obvious fail. Make sure you know what you’re buying. I am paying the price with a headache caused by amber overdose.

I hope I find a deal like ya’ll are finding! I think I’d love this also!

I bought this hoping it would smell like Nanette, which I love! Sadly this fails in comparison. All I get out of this is wood or nut. Maybe it’s the pencil shavings smell I’ve seen other people mention. Nothing sweet or pretty about it.

This fragrance is grapefruit and amber with a very soft musky floral on me. I can’t smell any vanilla on me. I really love this fragrance. It’s not overly sweet or overpowering. For me it’s a daytime warm weather fragrance. The only negative thing I can say is the large shape of the bottle makes it hard for me to hold and spray on.

Last autumn the U.S. chain of stores called Gordmans had gift sets -but not testers- of this totally unpromoted new Nanette Lepore fragrance priced a $49.99. The set included 100m edp, 100ml lotion and a .34oz travel spray but a $49.99 blind buy seemed too risky since Gordman’s doesn’t accept returns of fragrance.
But today I found the set there marked down to $9.98 and snapped it up, lickety split. Having worn the edp and lotion for the past 6 hours I’m going back tomorrow to get another one!
Somehow the vanilla, sugar and amber create a soft, gourmand nutty effect that is very nice. The nut aspect reminds me very much of a shortbread cookie called Pecan Sandies (made by the Keebler elves!). It is also very similar in tone to Nanette by Nanette Lepore (the one in the elegant clear glass bottle) so if you like(d) it you’ll like this new Nanette.
Although musk is definitely evident in the top notes, it seems to fade on me within an hour or two giving way to the tantalizing & totally delicious aroma of a gourmand pecan shortbread cookie. Even though my fragrance journey began with aldehydes and chypres -which I still love- the last couple of years have seen me trying and loving more and more gourmand fragrances.
If anyone had told me 10 years ago that someday I’d love smelling like pecan shortbread cookies I’d have laughed myself silly and declared, “No way!”. But I’m here to tell you, never say never!

This one does NOT smell like Ferragamo’s Signorina Eleganza !!!!! (I own and LOVE Eleganza)…Eleganza is deeper and has way more depth to it…and leather vibe.
This Nanette Lepore is….very pleasant for sure. I find it mildly sweet…touch of a light vanilla amber vibe and..yes…pear also. A simple scent, inoffensive and an OK blind-buy too.A nice every-day type scent, nothing over the top remarkable….but NICE. For the price at Ross..$12.99…gi-normous bottle too…lol.

if you are a lover of sweet amber with fruit, this is the very safest of blind buys. it can also be had very inexpensively for a huuuuge bottle at Ross, just saying…
amber and vanilla are dominant and grounding here, but the tang of pear is noticeable as well. I only get the barest hint of the grapefruit. the musk adds a smoothness & roundness to this scent that is really enjoyable.
this fragrance is right on the edge of being too sweet for me, but does not cross the line. i’d classify this fragrance as cozy-warm-sweetness… the perfect scarf scent. not the most sophisticated but very lovely. something you will probably want to bury your nose in if these notes are at all up your alley.
update a few months later: i reach for this a lot and get complimented on it quite often. i think it’s a really underappreciated cheapie; surprised that more people don’t have and love it. anyway, i’m not mad about it because i don’t want to smell like everyone else all the time, but i’m just saying if you’re on the fence about it, get it!

Y’all I found this at Ross for $13 here in Texas! I am going to try it and update later.

This fragrance is lovely and warm. Every time I wear it, people compliment it.
This perfume is sweet, but not overly sweet, with lots of amber, musk and vanilla and a bit of juicy pear. It reminds me of Shalimar Souffle – it’s not a dupe, but it has a similar vanilla/musk base.

I actually really love this. It was a total blind buy due to me being so drawn to the box! Crazy I know but I had a good feeling about it.
Vanilla+ Sugar+ Amber sounded delicious and it is. It is fresher than I thought it would be after reading the notes in it but never the less still very nice. Must be the pear and grapefruit in it. I usually don’t do well with tart fruit but this one sits nicely on my skin. It is a bit loud, which I like. It has good sillage. I would say it leaves a good soft trail behind you not an offensive cloud. Very glad I got it.

I got a sample of this in my birch box, and it’s a bit… whatever. It’s not bad, but it’s not great either. Fresh and warm. It’s nice, but it’s not very me.
