Burning myrrh, warm spices, sweet vanilla and rich amber. The myrrh is otherworldly. A refined, intoxicating, long lasting, unisex fragrance.

I had to return my bottle 🙁 I sniffed this at a Giorgio Armani boutique back in 2013/14 and I remember it being a warm, bodied, sweet smokey vanilla amber. The bottle that I received was a 2015 batch, code 62M800. I found it to be more dry and kind of sharp, not much more then a slightly sweet incense/smoke. It’s just not what I remember.
The performance was good. The first 1.5 – 2hrs projected solid, followed by another 3 hrs of moderate projection, before becoming more of a skin scent for a few more hours.
Overall, I did like the scent but I couldn’t justify holding on to it at that price. I don’t think I’d wear it much at all. Nice but not for me.

Could someone please tell me if this is REALLY worth £220 for 100ml? Or is there a just-as-good clone out there, that is a fraction of the price?!

Although I’m not usually excited about myrrh as a note as I struggle with some myrrh dominant compositions, I find this one to be excellent. There is a combination of smoky sweet resinous notes that makes this highly enjoyable and classy smelling for me. More dry than creamy (smoky myrrh), but very warm and calming. Excellent composition!

    Longevity: 10/10
    Projection: 5/10

My husband bought this one a while ago and I always loves it on him. Wore it myself one day and a male colleague said that he just wants to follow me everywhere because this smells so good and leaves a trail behind. I absolutely love it

This smells of myrhh with hints of amber and saffron, and strong incense. It’s very smoky. It’s pleasant to my nose. It reminds me a lot of Replica By the Fireplace. Sillage is moderate while longevity is moderate at around 4 hours of strong projection and many more hours of lighter projection.

Guys! Bad news, 2016 batches are REFORMULATED 🙁 i rly didnt want to accept that but it is the truth. i have 2015 sample and had the 2014 batch both have more depth more rounded and last more, the 2016 formula is sharp with less vanilla and less myrrh, the depth is gone! im very sad, very very sad since i wanted to wear this on my wedding day! but sadly i wont!

10 – Well that’s def. some myrrhe. And a super smokey benzoin and a saffron that is perfectly balanced. Not getting any pepper in the open, which is odd for me. Usually pepper jumps out first for my nose.
11 – I wonder if my nose got less attuned because everyone else has something about the longevity in their reviews and I’m having to rub my nose in my wrist to get anything at all.
My coworkers have all disappeared for spring break (they’re old, idk what they’re really doing. (I’m old-ish, too, so that isn’t an insult)) so I can’t make anyone else smell me today. Ooh, except I have a meeting later. Maybe I can drop a hint all sneaky like.
Smells real good though. The vanilla is presenting like gingerbread right now, which is pretty comforting. Probably that pepper showing up to tame any sweetness. I was raised by heathens, so no clue what church incense smells like, but this reminds me of Christmas with my hippy parents.
2 – Completely gone, put on more, now hanging out in a comforting cloud of yum. I’m guessing longevity isn’t normally an issue so I can see it being worth the expense (y’all, they got big ol’ 100 ml bottles. Don’t act like we don’t spend 175 for 30-50 ml) if it lasts on you. That said, I’m not sure if it’s all that unique. It’s a really well done but familiar scent to me.
Oh dang. Just realized I forgot to get anyone I had a meeting with today to smell me. The sales director’s kid was here and everything and kids have no chill when it comes to telling you what you smell like.
9:30 – Gah. Hours later and it’s cheapo vanilla. Luckily, it’s light, but man I wish this was more of an amber or pretty much any other base. I need to figure out layering.
Days later – I’ve started to use this to cover up perfume samples that aren’t wonderful and won’t wash off completely. It does a really good job and I don’t mind the dry down as much when it’s mixed with other smells. It’s growing on me.

I smell an overdose of aroma molecule Amber Xtreme in this. Nonetheless still a great fragrance, if cost is not an issue.

I bought this one since I really like Ex Nihilo Amber Sky and this one not only smells very similar but there is a significant price difference. It’s an excellent cold night fragrance. Besides the Myrrh, Amber and Benzoin , I get a strong incense smell that’s very nicely done and gives it a formal tone. I strongly recommend it.

STUNNING IN EVERY WAY. THIS IS PURE CLASS IN A BOTTLE. WHAT CAN I SAY THAT HASN’T BEEN SAID? DO YOURSELF A FAVOR & GET THIS FRAGRANCE. I’M BUYING ANOTHER BOTTLE NOW!

This is another solid creation in Armani Prive collection. It settles to a warm and complex resinous scent on my skin. It quickly gives the impression of having high quality ingredients in it. Very well blended and balanced composition of resins rounded by notes such as saffron. The style of the scent is sophisticated and classy, but at the same time comfy.
I really enjoy what I’m smelling on my skin. I’d say it is better for colder days. It has moderate longevity and projection. Give it a try if you are looking for a distinctive perfume in this family. I don’t smell scents like this that often!

I love this fragrance. And I can say this has the best dry down in my collection I mostly use it in formal dressing and have good comments on this.
I believe this is not very much discussed like other private lines like dior and Tom Ford. But I can tell you armani private line is awesome. I also own vetiver babylone and it is also good one.
By the way I am happy it is not very much hyped. I want this not to be very common fragrance. I know I sound like selfish. But for this yes I am.

Where is the chillies note! I smell a huge doses of chillies in here with myrrh, brnzoin, elemi, and sharp saffron. Quite hot and very worm.
Interesting take but shouldn’t be called “Myrrhe Impériale”, it should be called “chillies infirnale”.

  16. :

    4 out of 5

Myrrhe Imperialle is that odd one that you almost instantly know the smell before you even take off the lid. It’s predictable, but that’s part of it’s charm. It’s a high quality comfort that can only come in a $350 bottle (joking).
In all seriousness, it’s overpriced. Would I pay it? If I was in a position where I had the money… probably. I’d buy a lot of the Armani Privees, tbh. They really do seem to be the best that there is in the mainstream private collections. It’s unfair to say, because each brand does some things a little differently… but I’ve never seen such diversity where every scent is done so well.
This one just works on so many levels.

I got a sample of this a year or two ago, and all I smelled was chemicals. Ambroxan and Iso E? Seeing these reviews again, I bought a bottle thinking there was something wrong with my nose. Well there’s nothing wrong with my nose. Even spraying from the full bottle, it does smell like myrrh, but it is amped up and surrounded by a ton of synthetics.
The myrrh note (it’s the common myrrh, not opoponax, which is sweet myrrh and smells quite different. I love both) is front and center, clear and pure in all it’s woody and pungent splendor, but in my mind I cant reconcile taking a sacred and gorgeous resin like myrrh and blending it with what smells like cheap synthetic materials. It bothers me.
Some of its positive attributes: Like I said, the myrrh is strong. It’s not spicy, which I kind of appreciate. It has a nice sweetness to it in the drydown when some vanilla kicks in and the myrrh fades away. It has a resinous, smoked woods and intensely balsamic feel to it.
It should be less than half of its asking price. There are other myrrh dominant fragrances out there that are actually worth the money.

I love this fragrance so much I wore it at my wedding. And I was the bride.
I guess that the day was near Christmas made it more appropriate, and indeed as much as I love this, I would only wear it in the cold months. It doesnt suit warm weather at all.
One spray lasts well into the next day. It is expensive yes, but nothing like it elsewhere, and i like it enough to buy another bottle when this runw out.
I love the warm frankincense.. and i dont really find it sweet. It is very sophisticated and elegant.
    Love it.
The others in the privee line with gold tops yes also, the coloured tops not so much.

I already knew what Myrrhe Imperiale smelled like, but I wanted to give it another shot.
So I used it in a “first impressions” test, alongside other fragrances I considered similar: Encens Satin, Bois d’Encens (also Armani Prive) and Tenebrae (a new fragrance from L’Artisan Perfumeur’s luxury range Natura Fabularis).
    Personal preference:
    1 – Tenebrae
    2 – Encens Satin
    3 – Myrrhe Imperiale
    4 – Bois d’Encens
I ended up buying Tenebrae (the reason for doing this test) but my opinion of Myrrhe Imperiale changed.
I just cannot love Myrrhe Imperiale because it is too sweet and gingerbread-like. Of course, this was on top of the myrrh and resins and everything, which penetrates through… But I was searching for a deep, rich church incense (such as it was being compared to) and this was not it. I was more pleased with the dry-down, however. It lost sweetness and gained complexity, and edged toward my memory of what church incense was.
I know this belongs in another review, but to me, Tenebrae is an absolute dupe of church incense. Maybe it depends on the type of incense used in your church because Tenebrae has a sharp edge, with the fir tree and pine notes. But I used to go to the Tenebrae service at an Orthodox church (Good Friday – going into the “darkness”) and I swear that this was the exact incense used in the ceremony. There was also a fir tree outside, so maybe I’m combining the two things into one memory. But isn’t this one of the main reasons we’re into perfumery? To collect scents that evoke specific personal memories?
So, to some people, the Tenebrae perfume may not match their memory of church incense. But maybe Myrrhe Imperiale will? Maybe you like a sweet myrrh?

I like this a lot on my paper. But on my skin, the sweet/delicious/sexy aspect didnt really come out. On paper the mix really comes together to balance each other out, but on my skin, i got only the “bad” if you will. On paper think of it this way, I would think of it as a potentially sexy delicious amber scent. But on skin, it really was myrrhe imperial. Pretty boring for me and not my thing at all. Once it dries down its a little better I guess, but overall for me its a pass even if it was priced reasonably.

    Hi from Amsterdam!
Today I would treat myself on a scent I bought maybe a year ago but still was wrapped in its original packaging.
After opening the nice box a rectangular square bottle with a Mediterranean white marble top invited me to quickly spray its content onto my skin.
After going through different phases of notal development one part of my olfactory brain kept bugging me that I knew this scent or at least an important part of it.
It stayed for hours on my arm and I forgot about it; I was deeply involved in my work on this Sunday, finishing some files and lingering on some study-subjects,when suddenly the olfactic brain and its memory fused in a split moment:
it was Armani’s Myrrhe Imperial !!! from 2013.
The wrapped treasure -in -the box was
Profumi Del Forte’s “Versilia Vintage AMBRA Mediterranea”- conception in 2009.
I hope this might solve the puzzle for some of the reviewers.

Beautiful but not what I expected. Feels like a masculine version of Samsara, more spicy and deep.
Unfortunately it makes me nauseous, and can’t wear it. But it’s nice nonetheless

OVERPRICED for what it is……i have a decant and glad i did NOT purchase a bottle. to me this has limited wearability/versatility…..what ive done is one spray of this and a couple sprays of The One(edp) to round out this Armani frag.

Myrrhe Impériale is, to my nose, a classy and very elegant take on myrrh. It is extremely well balanced between opulence & discretion. It will absolutely conjure up all those luxurious images of oriental fairy tales but through a delicate & palatial aroma that may not boast its presence yet is immeasurably irresistible at close quarters.
Following a short-lived sugary punch, Myrrhe Impériale acquires during its opening a slightly medicinal touch that may be kind of misleading for a while, even off-putting, as it creats an impression of the fragrance being “diluted” or “weak”. This initial phase lasts for no more than 10-20 minutes, before the perfume settles & the best of myrrh’s aromatic facets start to culminate, dominating the composition.
Myrrhe Impériale displays an almost linear performance throughout its subtle yet ever lasting drydown. MI feels balsamic & warm on the skin with a beautiful vibe of smoky vanilla complementing the incensy sweetness of myrrh. As time passes MI becomes just a bit smokier & effectively more “solid” as the glowing nuances of amber enrich the composition with distant leathery, woody & musky undertones, creating overall (in the absence of ambergris, strong spices, etc.) a velvety sweet light-oriental distinct potion of meditative aromatic bliss that gratifies the senses.
    8/10
P.S. Despite the fact that I fully appreciate the calming beauty of Myrrhe Impériale and its quality overall, I cannot even for a single second justify in my mind its extravagant retail price. IMHO this offering is extremely overpriced. Hadn’t I been lucky to grab an unused tester for 115,00€, I would never have considered adding this perfume to my collection.

First of all: no “wooow” efect on the beginning. But I kinda like it in some way, it’s just not my favourite and I think I don’t feel to buy a whole bottle (I have bought just sample of 2ml for ridiculous price of 7 Euros:D but I wanted it to try so much). I was excited about this fragrance after reading reviews – I expected something so special, like no other fragrance before. I must say, I do like orientals, scents sticks, belly dance, hookah, darbuka and enjoy Arabic music and so on (I’m European and not to much people understand my “passion” about this:D)), so I expectig something totally else:D Like a smell of an Oriental palace or… don’t know. It’s different. I think it’s for pleasure of Western noses (personally I would prefer something mooore Oriental). At the beginning, it’s not good for me. Very heavy, too heavy and sharp, to much in composition. But the after like 20 minutes, it turns in the great composition of an elegant perfume, very fine, kind of sweet, I think it reminds me some perfume of the store which like 10x cheaper, some mainstrem frag, but only in some tones. Definitely I don’t know if there is anything similar to the whole fragrance at all. It’s nothing crazy – I think it’s suitable for most both women and men, perfect in the crown I think, other noses would find this not like “punching” them:D And, my mum even told me it’s more like for men. And my dad was like – “this is the mixture I always smell in the parfumery store.”
But there is one thinkg – I spritzed it on my wrist in the evening and when I woke up, it was totally gone:( I know it’s because of my skin is mostly dry.
My favourite from Armani is Aqua Di Gioa, so far

Several people here say this perfume reminds them of something they have smelled before but can’t put their name on it. I thought the same, until I realized that it was fresh diapers and baby powder. I think I’ll go with Bois d’Encens instead.

I have no way to adequately describe this fragrance so I hope the comparisons help.
M.I. Is a side-step of Memoirs of a Trespasser (imaginary authors), Interlude Man (Amouage) and Godolphin (parfums de marly) with a touch of Musc Ravegeur (Frederic Malle).
It starts off heavy with a leathery vanilla that reminds me very much of Memoirs of a Trespasser and the leathery note is very similar to Godolphin. The vanilla starts off dark and alcoholic like pure vanilla extract but softens over time to remind me of Musc Ravegeur’s dirty earthy vanilla.
The incense and resin vibe begins with an almost unpleast burning scent but evolves over time to a sweet moist myrhh with a subtle crushed leaf vibe that is just an echo of Tom Ford’s Vert Encens. Just an echo mind you.
In the drydown it’s a spiced smokey-sweet resinous olfactory feast. Great longevity but average projection.
Scent: 8.5/10 stunning, not too linear, well blended. Memorable.
Longevity: 9/10 definitely get 6 hours of noticable scent, another 4-5 as a skin scent. Can last 16 hours if you are point blank at the application site.
Projection: 5/10. It starts off heavy and wafting but quickly becomes an average projection within arms length. Projects for a solid 3 hours before it needs movement or you have to get closer.
Sillage: 7/10 for the first 30-45 minutes. Potent and wide train left in your wake but calms to a 3-4/10 after that and somewhere past 3 hours it’s virtually gone.
Would I buy another bottle? Yes. It’s memorable, exotic, and very decadant. Interlude Man is one of my all time favorites and I’m powering through my second bottle of Musc Ravegeur. Take that for what you will. If you like those then this may be right up your alley.

This gem is so fantastic that even my wife complimented me today(wearing this one) haha.
It’s so creamy, round and thick. I can’t understand how anyone can dislike it. I really can’t get enough of.
Myrrhe imperiale smells like something I’ve smelt before, but I don’t know what. But something beautiful I’m sure. 9/10

it’s difficult to describe how this scent smells and i still can’t figure out what this reminds me of but in my experience it’s quite unique.
It is true niche but quite easy to tolerate because it isn,t aggressive at all. It doesn,t smell perfumy but rather just like a good smell, a soft aura. It’s quite linear but the base get’s even better while the start is already good. The first time i put this on i thought it was strange because i never smelled something like this but soon it invited me to try again. To me it smells spicy and like something that is burnt but in a very good way. Like something delicious that gets burned. It is a dry scent but not to dry. A slight touch of sweetness is present, very subtle and discrete. It,s not really your typical incense smell although it has a very tiny smoky burning aspect to it.
Original and easy to wear especially for this kind of scents and recommended for autumn, winter and early spring.
    Good scent

I have come to a conclusion that myrrh is my favorite incense note ever, it’s not the church association incense, it’s the opposite. It’s amazing and done in many different ways. This is probably one of the best myrrh compositions out there. Whilst still a designer fragrance, Armani has targeted a niche market and used very high quality ingrediants here . This stuff will last all day and through the night. While there is no way I would pay full retail, I would however pay $175 for this all day long. I’ve seen it for around there on sales and eBay.
What a great scent! Unisex, long lasting, nose and crowd pleasing. Just amazing!

What a stunning perfume. Best of the prive line IMO.
Opens dominated by the resins and Amber to create a wonderfully smooth scent though not as sweet or spicy as most other ambers (think Amber sultan or Akkad). This is a far darker grittier Amber as the incense lurks in the background. A welcome change from the usual rich ambers.
As the scent evolves I find the amber swaps places with the incense and becomes very reminiscent of Black Afganos opening (minus the herbal grassy notes) with the pink pepper standing side by side.
As the dry down begins the pink pepper remains centre stage but the Amber and incense continue to play tug of war though significantly more muted than before.
For those of you who enjoy ambers and are perhaps tired of the usual spicy/rich ambers give this a go. You might find it changes things up for you.

  33. :

    3 out of 5

As incense perfumes go, this one’s more resinous than smoky. The opening impression for me is of very sweet resins with a slight medicinal tinge. The smell is darkly syrupy, as if you put the myrhh, benzoin and amber on a brazier, topped the whole thing with sugar and set it aboil. I also get notes of raisins and booze at the stage, a little like an old port. I don’t get a lot in the way of pepper or saffron.
While I don’t agree with my foxy, fellow foul-mouthed Fragrantican about the nature of the opening (dry pepper and burnt rubber?), I do agree that the scent changes distinctly after around a half an hour, and for the better. It is at this point that I find it dries out a little, becoming less sweet and sticky, unveiling the finer qualities of the resins and letting the vanilla shine a little. I also keep finding notes of animal, oud and metal, unlisted though they may be.
After a few hours the heavier notes begin to lighten and the scent begins its long—very long—drydown. After more than 18 hours I can still smell it clearly…and I think I’m even finally catching a hint of that pink pepper!

Ohhhh myyyyyyyy goooooooodnessssss THIS STUFF SMELLS SO GOOD!!!!
I honestly don’t know how anyone could NOT enjoy this stunning masterpiece of a gem.
    Longevity great
    Silage great
    Quality great
    Smell very great
I don’t think I would pay full retail, but if you can get this at $150-$175 DONT pass it up. If you sample, you will buy I’m sure. I have some very honest people in my “fragrance testing circle” that give me great feedback, usually I never get all of them to like one fragrance, there’s always one or two that have some sort of criticism, even on Aventus, but NOT this one. They all liked it
Very few fragrances get a 10 in my collection. I started at giving this a 9, but after wearing it a few times, it gets the seal of masterpiece 10

This is a very rich, strong oriental of excellent quality. I can liken it to expensive smelling church incense for about the first three hours, then it becomes relatively sweet and gourmand (as deadidol mentioned) like a spiced dessert. I’m sorry I can’t be clearer, but orientals aren’t my favorite area. Myrrh? I wouldn’t know what myrrh actually smells like, but according to deadidol’s review, myrrh is not a very nice scent to Western noses, and therefore this perfume has it diluted with a lot of other ingredients (amber, sandalwood, vanilla etc.). In comparison to genuine Middle Eastern perfumes, e.g. from the house of Amouage, this juice is relatively tame… Middle Eastern perfumes are bombs in terms of silage and longevity, and the notes favored are passionate and rich. From what I have read, Western perfumes aiming for the Middle Eastern market will never smell the same as Middle Eastern perfumes aiming for the Middle Eastern market, because they’re coming at it from different angles. But Giorgio Armani knows this… And it doesn’t make it a bad fragrance. Sugar and gourmand has its place with myrrh and resins. I can imagine this would appeal to Western customers who are serious about orientals, and probably Middle Eastern customers who want to have an exclusive Giorgio Armani in their collection. As for me, I have only recently discovered orientals, so I cannot deconstruct them in the same depth as some other people.

This is a great fragrance. Out of all the samples I just tried I enjoy this one the most. I defiantly get the myrrh . It’s been sweetened by some vanilla and a touch of Amber. I do believe this one smells much different on skin than paper, naturally. I’m really going to consider this full bottle worthy at this time. It’s defiantly more masculine than feminine. I’m sure this would be great in the winter cold months. I could see it being a comfort scent in those climates. Just well done and pleasant to smell. Great quality and defiantly worth buying s sample.

Myrrhe Imperiale is another interesting entry in the Armani Prive line. It is mainly a mix of myrrh, vanilla, and amber. I don’t get much more out of it but the blend of these three main element is very easy to wear but also provides a sense of reservation and sophistication; it’s neither cloyingly sweet nor harshly incensed. I don’t get much of the pink pepper or saffron at all.
This reminds me of Imaginary Authors Memoir of a Trespasser in terms of the dominance of the myrrh and vanilla. They’re comparable in terms of overall sweetness:incense ratio as well as refinement. My inclination is to suggest that Myrrhe Imperiale might be somewhat more refined than Memoirs of a trespasser but that might be hasty if I’m not smelling them simultaneously, so perhaps that’s for future judgment.
The performance on this is very good, above average for an EDP, which for the retail price of $290 for 100ml, is a must. Discounted on Beautyspin ($215 for 100ml) like most of the other Armani Prive entries, like most fragrances you’d pay more than $200 for, you really do need to love it. A worthy try for fans of myrrh, incense, amber, or vanilla and perhaps someone’s future winter staple.

Myrrhe Impériale is one the best myrrh fragrance that I own as a nieche fragrance. The notes of benzion and amber gives it a real attractive warm-spicy-smokey aroma. For whatever reason, I’m not able to pick up any saffron? A real attractive, opulent and elegant aroma.
Longevity and Silage is excellent, I spray it 2-3x on my skin and it lasts well past 8hrs
    Overall,
When I first seen this collection, I thought that it was way too much. In the last several years, the prices have gone up…I don’t know if it’s because of profit or quality..or maybe both. All aside, I do appreciate this juice and I bought it. The aroma of Myrrh has a very clean and deep combined with a hint of spicy/smokey blend perfect during the fall and winter months. Highly recommended if you can afford it. 9/10

This is another wonderful scent from the Armani line that I feel is not justified for the $$! Don’t get me wrong, this is a wonderful scent, rich, exotic, and spicy. Very natural smelling, a bit like christmas with myrrh and cinnamon and vanilla. I get a very light smoke in the back ground. However, it is a very linear scent with no development and smells of soft powdery vanilla myrrh, which isn’t a bad thing, it just needs more umph! So I sprayed the myrrhe imperiale with the bois d’encense and wow!! Now this combo smells amazing!
You can mix and match the myrrhe, the bois d’encense, and the cuir noir in various combos to get great scents! But at about $300 a pop that isn’t worth it! If they were sold as a gift set of 3x1oz bottles for like $200 that would be wonderful.

I’ve tested this on one hand and Oud Réminiscence on the other one. La Myrrhe Impériale had a nice opening, but too similar to M7 so I instantly knew I didn’t need a bottle.
    I’m so happy I didn’t buy it:
    1) Oud Réminiscence has much more projection and longevity. I won’t buy Oud Rém. because it’s a little too sweet, but at least it performs much better than La Myrrhe.
    2) The opening of La Myrrhe was nice but not breathtaking. But the drydown is a big mess and it is sour.
I don’t hate this fragrance, but if I need a nice myrhh, I’ll buy Paestum Rose or one of the Profuma Roma offering.

For me this is one of the greatest creations of perfumery ever created. This agrees with my personality so well. So rich and resiny not too ethnic but just enough to make you feel exotic. Get your nose on this one because its a sleeper no one ever talks about.

This is a wonderful fragrance. It smells of myrrhe and honey and orange blossom. Who is the nose behind this? Is it Francis Kurdjian because it smells very similar to his own Masculine Pluriel which is another great fragrance.

A very nice clone of Montale Kabul Aoud (2011), which is one of my favorite full-incense/myrrh fragrances. As nice as this one may be, I’m sticking with Kabul Aoud which I find to be better and one-third the price. Unfortunately, it’s a UEA exclusive so you’ll have to shop around.

I generally like these balsamic, vanilla-infused resins… but I’ve smelled a million variations and there’s no wow factor for me in this one. It doesn’t wear well. At first I thought it was too masculine, but that’s not it. In the drydown it separates on my skin and the notes seem to compete–vanilla and resin, not speaking to each other.
Myrrhe Impériale is safe and warm, but in a surface-y way. I think it would be great on someone who smiles often but not bothering to include the eyes, has been to the trendy bourbon bars, probably partied on a few boats last summer–but doesn’t actually own a boat (not that there’s anything wrong with that).
It’s a cliché of class. Yes, it’s expensive–it’s just not the best.

When first applied the alcohol and fragrance smell very like burning tyres which is a bit scary. When the alcohol has gone the wonderful myrrh, benzoin and amber do their thing. i think its the saffron that gives me the burning tyre effect at first. It is smoky but not that much. Its not really acrid. Its not that sweet but the overall effect is warm and very pleasant. I like it. Perfect for cold weather days and definitely unisex. Moderate sillage and moderate longevity which is a bit surprising considering the notes.

A true masterpiece, what more can I say. Beautiful scent, excellent longevity, smooth, sweet, complex, gorgeous! But no doubt masterpiece price.

Manly, warm and of abundance, this is delicious, a smoky myrrhe, the subtle sweet is balanced with the subtle dry saffron. You will breathe deeper with this perfume, so will people around you.
    9/10 overall score.

Tried whilst on a recent holiday to Rome and I don’t know why I didn’t buy on the spot.
Deep, rich myrrh that lasts for hours. Smells very expensive which it is but, in my humble opinion, is definitely worth it.
Definitely one to get in the future.

I was smiling reading foxy_princess review.
Even though I won’t use the same language, I must admit I have kind of the same experience,
I was in transit in Copenhagen airport and I went to the duty free section in search for some niche – special editions perfumes. Thank heaven I found Dior’s, Channels and Armani Prive collections.
(Funny thing – when smelling Dior’s Oud Ispahan, the seller approach me and told me “these are really expensive”. After a long jeourney I was not dressed up and I guess I looked tired. But I felt like being i
