Description

With fragrance My Queen, Alexander McQueen has an intention to embody the diversified nature of perfume and a vision of the woman of his dreams. A real kaleidoscope of scents in one bottle, miraculous, wonderful, mysterious, and seductive, created by two masters perfumers – Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion. The fragrance possesses a special four-level structure instead of classical three. The notes of almond, and violets open the fragrance and slowly turn into the pure scent of orange, white musk, heliotrope, and white flowers. The fragrance further develops towards the notes of patchouli, cedar and vetiver, and finally ends with notes of iris and vanilla. The bottle is very feminine, with graceful, precisely defined curves, and of a mysterious violet color. Alexander is a great lover and collector of glass art, and his wish was that the bottle of this perfume, besides its beauty, feels comfortable in every woman’s hand. The bottle designer is Thomas Bastide. The fragrance was created in 2005.

    Oh My!!!
Yet another fragrance in my collection thanks to my Sister 🙂
I totally got crazy from sniffing the bottle and now that it sat on my skin like a little kitten on fluffy rug opposite fireplace – I can feel it melting 🙂
I love my Queen, it is standing out from the crowd perfume, quite powerful and with a nice sillage 🙂
I cannot detect any notes on their own, it is elegant and daring juice 🙂
The dry down smells to me a bit like JPG Le Male which, despite being a masculine fume, does not bother me at all 🙂
I consider it better than Kingdom. The colour of the bottle pretty much expresses the taste of the ting to come once you spray it 🙂
My Queen is charming, it is a sex-appeal, it is love and lust manifest hidden in that beautiful bottle 🙂
    Worth trying!!!

Very pretty creamy almond and violets. It does remind me of Naughty Alice with the musk and violets and also kinda reminds me of Toujours Glamour. My Queen sits close to the skin and radiates soft femininity and calm/cozy vibes. I don’t think I would ever pay the hefty price tag for a FB (even though it’s a beautiful purple bottle and I have a thing for beautiful purple bottles) but I am very glad I got to finally try it

When I smelled My Queen for the first time I was really surprise to discover a gentle/quiet perfume. From Alexander McQueen I was expecting something really audacious like his fashion. For a McQueen perfume I found it boring with a lack of personnality. Finally after many test I realise that is not so gentle/ quiet but more complex. For sure is a real beauty. The mix of violet and almond are really interesting. And now I can wear a ”McQueen”. His perfume is less expensive than his clothes.

Extraordinary tune between color and shape and content.
The Iris flower is rebuilt on the notes of its talcated precious root, violet and heliotrope, orange blossoms and vanilla notes, almonds and patchouli background, mosses and cedar wood on vetiver. I love it, good longevity and sillage.

I was surprised to find the almond listed so prominently. Almond is one of my favorite scents and I didn’t notice any.
For me I smelled a lovely floral with a nice bit of pepper from the violet, but a little too blended to make out what specific flowers I was smelling.
After a while a rose scent came out.
Later (30-45min) I got a patchouli leather like scent that occasionally had an unpleasent poo like note, but just every so often
After the first hour it morphed into a sweet vanilla.
I love that it changes, but while each level is interesting nothing is amazing enough for me to fall in love.

I am a latecomer to this perfume, never have been much of a violets fan.Love almonds though, and having just found a full sealed bottle at a ridiculous price at my local perfume discount shop I snapped it up blindly. WOW, I have read all the reviews here, all I can add is that if you love Tim Burton’s movies this is one of them. In a bottle, and you are given the lead role. WOW again.

I recycle all my swap boxes and found this recently on the bottom of one. I totally missed it. Thank you swap partner I am so sorry not to have thanked you.
Wow this is gorgeous reminds me of Tom Ford Violet Blonde and Ellen Tracy Bronze. It’s more animalic like TF it has a dirty undertone but very slight, it is sexy. Why do they always discontinue the amazing sexy fragrances?

That’s a really nice perfume! It opens with strong woody notes on me, and after a while dries to nice almond-vanilla notes. I love that the scent is pretty strong, even though I have only a roll-on.

I really don’t know what to think about this one. A few years ago it was on sale at tk maxx for about £20.00. As my blind buys are 50/50, I ordered a sample. Used it a few times and was relieved I didn’t buy a full size bottle because I thought it was nothing to write home about. Now I found an almost empty vial, sprayed it once and I quite like it. It’s very misterious, warm, powdery (“poudre” sounds nicer:)and sensual fragrance. My taste changes dramaticly, I start to dislike and get rid of my once favourite fragrances to buy those I wasn’t fond of in the past….

I get pencil shavings cedar from first to last, a sugary over-sweet mix of flowers including a weak almost-violet, lots of pepper. It smells loud and messy and incoherent – like the sound of a riot rather than a choir. I can believe it smells very different to different people or to the same person at different times. I think it will be hit and miss whether this works for you and whether you can get the same result using it twice in a row. Bit of a roulette wheel. Actually, I think ‘roulette’ would be a better name than ‘my queen’. Queen conveys to me a mature, strong woman who is in control and supported by a long tradition, a sophisticated courtly culture, a stable government – stable, conservative, reactionary. This smells nothing like that. If by queen you mean drag queen wobbling uncertainly on six-inch heels through a poorly rehearsed torch song then maybe. The marketing is all about spells, witches, magic. I don’t get that at all. The marketing is as confused as the product. Not something I would wear nor would I enjoy being around someone wearing it.

This goes on strongly floral, mostly violets. It’s a bit bitter, almost with a tinge of gasoline in the back of your throat, at first. I am not in love with this at first, the bitterness is a little too much for me at first, but it sweetens up as time goes on. The vanilla comes out with the other florals, and you get a lovely, pretty, purple almond musk. It smells very fall/winter, but I have a hunch this scent would do very well in the summer – sweet musk fragrances usually do for me, if sprayed copiously. I wonder what makes me describe this scent as purple, other than the bottle – earlier today when I had it on and was walking through the green trees, it smelled like the color of the air around me…green, brown, blue, gray…I’m probably not making sense now! haha!

An absolute gem. I think this would be an excellent floral perfume for someone who prefers something more on the masculine side. I sensed some master parfumers at work here, and in my opinion it’s definitely one of Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion’s best!
On my skin, this is harsh at first; followed by lots of violet greenery and an unusual floral note. I wonder if this is the heliotrope. It’s very woodsy, fresh and clean. In the heart, the almonds, powdery iris and cedar are more prominent on the skin. The perfume really does dance back and forth between notes. Eventually everything settles into a dry-down of a powdery almond-vanilla scent. Soft to moderate sillage; lasts for about 8-9 hours.
I really loved this perfume; but unfortunately, almonds are like play-doh on my skin. I would buy this in a heartbeat sans almonds! Oh well, there are many more perfumes out there for me to fall in love with 🙂

At first I get powdery violet, then it turns to sweet lemon cake. The sweet lemon lasts a long time on my skin, with the powdery violet settling over top of it. It’s hard to describe this scent but I LOVE it. I can faintly detect a hint of warmth – patchouli? Very feminine . Adore!!

This is another fragrance that my skin eats alive. I put it on about an hour ago and I can barely smell it now, even on my clothes. Shame. It’s a really nice scent.

Very beautiful perfume, may be not my favourite of all I have but still pretty, I personally smell violet and pepper over the rest of ingredients.

If you’re like me and the top 3 or 5 notes voted up on here appeal to you, you really need to get this! I smell all the notes in here, this is case of what you see is what you get.
I get violets & iris galore in a fountain of powder. There are green little tips in the flower notes, sounds Dr. Suess-y but that’s how I can only explain it. There is a silky almond and dry vanilla combo that makes the fragrance smells just a little bit like cookies. I know queen anne’s lace isn’t in here but it’s a quiet little phantom note for me.
There is that little bit of a rough, masculine element but it’s so subtle. I’m talking about the patch, cedar, and vetiver combo. Mainly in this perfume you get the powdery flowers with a touch of almond/vanilla cookies. With a hint of something deeper and sexier.
This fragrance is not overrated in the least! I actually think this smells like what I had hoped something by lolita lempicka would smell like, but I’m not a very big fan of the original lolita or the spin offs of the original. Not to say this smells like licorice, it just has a similar feeling.

I remember trying this when it first came out, and had a close friend not begun to wear it, I might very well have purchased it then. I tried it again recently, and while I found it an interesting and well-made composition, I also felt it was overly sweet and vanillin for my tastes.

Such but such a shame this is discontinued… What a beautiful fragrance and what a beautiful name, My Queen… Dark but sensuous, strong opening with violets that softens quickly into a wonderful, powdery, almond-violet dry-down. If I could describe this perfume with one, concrete word, that’d be “velvet”. I love velvet, I love My Queen…

    Mnesli:
This is long lasting, sweet and powdery. It’s very peppery in the beginning too. You can smell violet. Of the names you’ve listed I had Dior Addict and I really liked it, casue I also like stronger perfumes. My bottle of My Queen was quite cheap, so maybe if you get your hands on the one that’s on sale it won’t be so risky. Hope you’ll like it!

Yesterday I decided I will wear this fragrance which has already been hiding in my closet for 3 weeks now. Based on other people’s reviews I bought it and I liked it from the first spray on my wrist. But I never actually wore it anywhere. So yesterday it was time to show the world this wonderful perfume.
My first mistake was that I was overreacting with spraying. I sprayed it like 10 times on me, just because I really liked it and was having a feeling that it won’t last or that the sillage won’t be that powerful. Oh, boy it was powerful. It filled the whole bus that I was on, and I begin to wonder if the people there were offended by it. I felt a little sick because it was just too strong and the whole experience was not what I expected. But it was my fault, so.
So today I tried it again. This time I sprayed it one me 2-3 times and what a joy that was! I got compliments (yeah!!!) and it looked like I wasn’t offending anyone.
My queen is one of my favourites now. It’s a little bit peppery in the beginning but it settles into a delicious sweet violet. It’s powdery and sweet and violet, all at the same time, but it creates magic. And the lasting is amazing. Don’t get me started about the sillage. If it can fill the whole bus, then you know how strong is. Now I’m looking forward to get my hands on My queen light mist. I’m in love.

This is beautiful. I normally am not an almond fan at all. This is almond light and it has a creamy vibe. I get the violets in the beginning which last a good while. Sillage is pretty close to a skin scent for me but longevity was better than 8 hours. Definitely a comfort scent. This was a blind buy and a good one!

This is so soft, delicate and feminine,if I didn t know the designer s name I could swear it belongs to Bvlgari it has the same vibe to me like most of this house s perfumes.A very nice mix of violets and vanilla.Although I am not into soft perfumes I really like this one…

  26. :

    4 out of 5

My Queen opens with pure parma violets, an instant breath of little purple candies and childhood. It slowly wears away as the powdery sweet blend of heliotrope and iris takes over, which feels very light and airy and feminine, undercut as they are with white flowers, so that what may have been somewhat cloying isn’t at all. It’s feathery and delicate, with an appropriate amount of greenery and roots to ground it a little, without giving way much to reality – here is no wet flower garden, but a brides bouquet of flowers against the backdrop of iced almonds.
Very pretty, but the parma violet opening is too close to the real thing for me. If you’re looking for a purple floral definitely try this one, but for me while I liked it, it wasn’t quite wow, just a soft and well-mannered – if well made – floral. Probably a treat for lovers of purple flowers.

Great perfume and unique beauty – magical and sexy in such an elegant way, dark but gentle.. Irrational, emotional and unpredictable..
You just have to surrender to it.. Perfect for winter nights, makes me feel like a queen in my own kingdom!

  28. :

Well, well…In my first review for this perfume, I said that a lasting power is weak. I tried this beautiful perfume once more, now when it is almost winter, and it is strange but this time I could smell this elixir on me all day. So I bought it., and I can say this is almost my signature:)
Such a beautiful powder, with soft violet and creamy almond…not to sweet; actually, it is sweet just enough to lift a bit the deepness of this frag.
On the end of story, there is a soft and elegant smell around you, wrapped into majestic patchouli…
Now I can say, this is a Winter Queen !

This was a very successful blind buy for me due to the reviews on here. I can not add to what MrsLetterO, rickyrebarco and others have already said. If you want a perfume that is truly unique and magical, try this. I love powdery, flowery, almond perfumes and this ticks all the boxes. Not at all old fashioned but one a classic lady would wear. It is not a cloying perfume by any means but a truly wonderful creation by Alexander McQueen and his team. Magnificent.

Idk why but on my skin the EdT is melts down into something very nearly masculine. Probably the vetiver? Wouldn’t smell out of place on a guy either. Nice.

Oh, this is so beautiful, I’m literally wallowing in this gorgeous scent ever since my precious bottle of My Queen arrived. How could I not love a perfume with violets, iris and white florals?
This was a love at first sniff for me, violets at the onset, but with an edge. I don’t smell the traditional “almondy” sweet scent that many perfumes have. My Queen has a woody almost bitter almond edge to the topnotes that I really love. It has a peppery scent although there is no pepper in the notes. It’s probably ISO-E-Super, which I generally smell as pepper. It is used very well here to give just a bit of edginess to the scent that is really wonderful. It also adds a bit of oomph to the vetiver in the topnotes.
This is not a linear scent; it truly develops. I can smell some of the basenotes from the beginning, like the woods and vetiver. The development to me comes more in bringing in the softer white florals, that are a bit powdery, but not overly so to my nose. And finally, the piece de resistance, the iris! The iris is gorgeous in the final drydown so if you are an iris lover I would give this a try. But it’s not a rooty bitter iris, just perfect in my estimation. This is truly a perfume fit for a queen. I’ve already bought a back-up bottle I loved it so much.

It is a superb modern perfume very long lasting with a exquisite bottle. I was very pleased with this blind purchase taking in mind the comments of all the friends of Fragrantica. I would suggest Queen is a perfume for winter or even spring evenings, it reminds me of John Galliano’s edp. Bravo!! this was a pleasant surprise

    Another bad blind buy… :,-(
I had such high hopes for this one, since everyone raves about the vanilla, almond, iris, violet, heliotrope…
But all I can smell is a VERY dominating tuberose, (that no one has mentioned?!) pencil shavings (cedar), pepper, rubber, sour Windex and medicinal patchouli.
It smells very plastick-y and sharp as a needle.
Not fluffy or soft in any way, shape or form.
It actually makes me sick to my stomach when I smell it.

So I realised today posting on a thread that I am the only fragrantican with My Queen set as their signature. I feel a review is in order. I asked my Mother-in-law to buy me My Queen when it first came out, i own it now and I hope I’ll stock pile enough to own it until I am no more. If I could have asked Lee McQueen to make me a fragrance I don’t think he could have chosen more perfect notes, nor arranged them any better. Violet Almond Iris Heliotrope Cedar Vanilla and Orange blossom. I am not worthy. With clever blending, dark yet bright, smooth yet peppery. Not too sweet, not too heavy, for me just right, ever changing. When people talk about England, they think, for some unknown reason, of some trad rose soliflore…but this is England. Child of a teacher and a taxi driver that grew up in a council flat and got an O-Level in Art. All I can say is thank you Lee.

  36. :

I think that the name ‘My Queen’ is not suitable for this perfume; more like ‘Concubine’, or maybe even ‘Geisha’. For Queen, I expect more distance and bit colder smell.
But this is so warm, oriental, sexy, powdery with fresh purple flowers. There is vanilla but in sooo sophisticated way. It is sweet but reasonably, not heavy and fuggy like many perfumes which have sweet note. Reminds me bit on ‘Surreal’ from Avon, just in opening. Also, there is some elegancy which have Armani and some YSL perfumes.
    Anyway, I want it 🙂
Edit: i’m so sad because the lasting power is so poor..maybe about hour and half. That is a reason I will not buy this perfume 🙁

  37. :

    4 out of 5

I received a sample of this from a dear fragrantica friend.
This is a nice scent! Nothing extraordinay, nevertheless very pleasant.
Imagine a youthful playground nearby the woods on which sweet powdery Violet is enjoying herself with her closest friends Almond & Vanilla.
Surrounded by some acquaintances that represent Iris, Heliotrope, Musk & White flowers who are playing a game on their own.

  38. :

    4 out of 5

This smells a lot like Victoria’s Secret Heavenly, only cheaper and with a whopping dose of pepper.
Does not meld with my skin at all, but sits on top of it, retaining the nose-burning alcohol blast without any further development.

  39. :

    5 out of 5

This is very, very pretty, and far more accessible than I had expected from a McQueen perfume. Candied violet and powdery iris are sweetened with generous doses of almond and vanilla. This could have been a sickly mess but for the warm, masculine, woody notes, which in my opinion make the composition a success.
On the right woman (not sure if it’s me yet!) this is a subtle ‘come hither’ scent. It is not overtly sexy, but you will win people over. The sillage is moderate; the longevity is a little disappointing, but for the pittance I paid I have no cause to complain.

Been wanting this for a while…finally mine ! (Thanks Onimoka)
Sprayd me all over and prepared for a deep rich dark violet, but it didn`t appear, mind you I am not dissapointed – thats better.
It is both creamy and powdery – and the start was beautiful but not strong at all.
The violet ,that on me shows as the key note is deep and powdery, but very true,
Accomplied with mosses, musks, patch ,helitrope and vanilla…no wonder it is powdery and smooth.
While its not as dark as I expected, I can easily wear this any time, and both layer it with my other violets..
Ok……to be honest – I do wish it would have been a little darker ; )
lets see if it grows during the wear, they sometimes do.
Lovely frag that like my other violets , will be frequently used !

  41. :

Powdery clean with earthy spice! It’s all about violets, iris and heliotrope. Pretty much all other notes are quite involved here as well, esp. vanilla, pepper, patchouli and cedar.
Appealing for powdery floral lovers like myself.
Clean, powdery, spicy, earthy, fresh floral with wear it anytime: day and night no preference.
Kind of serious formal scent, it means business.
Comfortably dries down to violet-vanilla, and it retains its quality composition. Worthwhile investment!
It really does have the meaning behind the name. Well done!

I must admit I have had to retract my previous review about this one. This is a violet masquerading as a harlot. It is deep and rich, spicy and powdery at the same time. I don’t know where the peppery note comes from, but I love it…I only wish there was more of it. I have really grown to love this one.
This is a magnificent combination of rich, velvety deep purple florals with calming creamy almond that keeps it from being to sharp or overpowering. Very gorgeous purple oriental floral, addicting. You have stolen my heart, little masquerading violet queen, I love you!
    Stay little valentine stay
    Each day is valentines day;)

    For me this fragrance is:
    – 34% L’instant magique Guerlain;
    – 33% Violet Angel Thierry Mugler;
    – 33% Fahrheneit Dior o_O.
I can’t decide if I like it or not! I like violet and powdery fragrances, but there’s also a weird, masculine, peppery note (maybe is the cedar+patchouli+vetiver?) that ruins a little bit the drydown, at least on my skin.

  44. :

Baby powder, musk, almond, vanilla and lots of violets and violets are divine! A bit of patchouli and heliotrope – lovely!

Wow extraordinary fragrance. Very mysterious. It’s not too loud but at the same time it announces its presence. Sillage is good and maintains its structure. A beautiful symphony of ingredients.

Beautiful Bottle and the fragrance itself is nice.It alternated on me during the day between something resembling Laurence Dumont Vanille Violette and an Orangey musk scent that kept showing up now and then.My love, loves!

  47. :

    5 out of 5

This smell is absolutely gorgeous. It’s very clean, dark yet feminine. I don’t know why but this smell reminds me much of Paul Smith’s ‘Extreme woman’, maybe not that papery. As for the bottle, it’s very interesting and elegant. However I don’t like the fact that there’s no lid on this fragrance.

  48. :

    4 out of 5

I wore this today and thankfully, I didn’t do my usual second spraying! This could easily be overdone by someone like me who figures more is more. It was just perfect, the smell of perfume and hours later when I thought it was gone, there it was again, gently wafting. I usually wear vintage or classics, and I don’t want to disdain modern scents, it is just that they usually don’t smell as good to me. I hate that plasticky, chemical note I get with so many and I’m so glad it was not there with this one. Kingdom was not a winner for me, fortunately I only bought a test vial of it. My Queen is glorious and I’m glad I bought a big bottle of it. Who says you aren’t supposed to blind buy?

  49. :

Blind bought this and bunch of other scents online.. (I know, people shouldn’t, but it’s so nice to be surprised!)
Package arrived today, what a treat!
Wore this today and thankfully I really seem to like it 🙂
Didn’t seem to stay that long however. So longevity-wise I wasn’t very pleased. Will wear it more often for sure, perhaps my nose was a little off today?

  50. :

As a violet lover I wanted to test it so long…
It is violet scent but I am a bit dissapointed.
I believe that some of you, will love it.
If I compare it with my other violet scents:
No freshness of Paris Enchantees Roses
    No sweetness of Lolita Lempicka
No deepness of Lalique Le Baiser
    No naughtiness of Guerlains Insolence
If I qualify it, I would say it’s very earthy(iris) and powdery (almonds), without florals and white floral characteristics.

  51. :

What a wonderful parfume and long lasting too. I simply love it.

  52. :

I’ve recently come to the realisation that I adore violet scents, especially when they’re obscure or complex. My Queen is the kind of floral that I enjoy wearing, especially on a cold night.
I was not overly thrilled with the opening, which struck me as being rather medicinal and synthetic. It reminded me too much of a doctor’s surgery with the scent of pink antiseptics and rubber gloves. Thankfully these bizarre top notes were short-lived, making way for a much more appealing blend.
The heart has a beautiful, dominant violet accord which is both powdery and green. Heliotrope and almond further compliment the violet, providing a nutty and smooth texture. The overall feeling on the skin is both feminine and sensual.
Alexander McQueen’s style is very similar to that of Thierry Mugler. My Queen has that same, otherworldly vibe that can be found in both Angel and Alien. It’s weird and I like it.
The drydown is a touch gourmand on my skin, with more almond, musky vanilla and a hint of cedar. My Queen’s complexity keeps you guessing. One thing for certain, it’ll never be boring. Thankfully, the longevity is good too, so that means hours worth of surprises.
It was sad to hear of Alexander McQueen’s passing two years ago, so today I honour his memory by wearing this masterpiece. Everyone who hasn’t already tested My Queen, needs to.

  53. :

A mighty rich and overwhelming scent ! At the opening I feel mostly the violets and secondly almonds ( they reminded me of chocolate at the first sniff ) – opening which makes me think of Cat de Luxe by N. Campbell. Then it turn out to smell of Lolita by Lolita Lempicka – because of the vanilla but adding an extra cleanliness smell as of an expensive soap. I “blame” the white flowers and white musk for that. These two are what makes the fragrance so unique for me. And at the base it has 3 of my favourite perfume ingredients – patchoili, vetriver and cedar. I adore the perfume from its middle to base notes.

I love this one and it is one of my favourites for fall/winter.
Lovely scent of violets, almonds, musk and powder. very warm but dark at the same time, mysterious and magical. It is like being naked and walking through the dark, unknown forrest at night ….
This perfume definitely awakens my imagination .
Also, it has that very feminine and sexy note- I think it may be iris – it is like a bit of powder and lipstic fragrance topped with vanilla cloud …sexy!!!
the bottle is beautiful- purple like violets and also purple is my favourite colour.

This is a gorgeous and unique fragrance. I like to spray it all over my cardigan, then when I wear it later on in the evening, I get a warm almondy-powdery-incense-vanilla scent that is just heavenly!

I adore this! I also love the light mist version which I bough first, but this comes in a larger size which I prefer.
It smells a little bit like powdery parma violet sweets but is ulta feminine and soft.
    Great perfume.

I love Creed Tabarome and this smells just like it, except softer and more feminine. I love it!

My Queen “VS” She Wood. Very similar, initially, and enjoy both of them. MQ is “Deeper/Darker; SW is Lighter/Brighter. Would be inclined to wear MQ in the evening/winter. SW in the summer/daytime. Drydown on MQ morphs into something more complex and interesting. SW stays linear and lighter in feel. Love them both.

Not too powdery and a little bit sharp charming floral fragrance.
The leading note in the fragrance is the violet note, which make this fragrance more mysterious. Maybe I would say that the violet note in this fragrance is the best violet note in perfumes for me. The iris note is also noticeable and makes the violet note more deep and velvet. The heliotrope and the vanilla notes make this fragrance sweet enough, but not too sweet. And luckily the musk note doesn’t make this fragrance too powdery.
I like this fragrance. It’s interesting and unusual enough.

My Queen – love love love!
Queen of her castle.. Warm yet distant, mysterious and intriguing. Just like the Queen, she doesn’t have to say it loud but you hear her! She has presence!
    Very grand, graceful and dignified!!

This scent is a pretty mature one. To me, it does not remind me Lolita Lempicka at all.
I like it very much though, but would wear it only in autumn/winter time and preferably in the evening. To me, it is warm, oriental and spicy. Definitely 30+.

After recently fallaing in love with TM’s Angel after hating it for so many years, I began to crave a few other fragrances, one of them being this one. They share similarities with the strong Patchouli notes. My Queen is sort of dark but otherworldly. Just as Angel, it makes me feel untouchable and of course ethereal. It does not have crazy overwhelming silliage as most “heavy” perfumes do. But it has a cold airiness to it just as Angel, just as Dior Midnight Poison, just as Ghost Deep Night, and just as YSL Elle. This, along with the others mentioned would be my idea of the perfect Ethereal fragrance. My Queen leaves me with an enchanting aura rather then a cuddly or sexy skin scent, or a tigress of a perfume that can be smelled from feet away. The difference between this one and the otheres forementioned is that the Patchouli here mixes with a green cold violet, powdery iris and helliotrope so lovely. It too, also has a metallic or plastic note…something reminiscent of a Queen that is not of Earth but of a different galaxy.

This is a pretty powdery violet, softened by creamy vanilla; I also smell almonds and some musk. My Queen is a violet-scented “skin scent” type fragrance: cozy, pretty, but also discreet and shy. Not bad.

I tried this fragrance again, as so many people love it and I thought I was missing something. So I spray it hesitantly on my wrist, and all I can smell is Cabbage Patch Doll or Love’s Baby Soft (which I ADORED, in the 5th grade) I love the fantasy of McQueen’s clothes, but I just can’t get into any of his perfumes.

Lovely fragrance- in the same genre as Aimez-Moi, minus the sharp piquancy of the top notes-
The violet/iris/almond combination is just delightful-
I thought that I detected a bit of anise, too-
It seemed that the fragrance moved quickly from top and mid notes to the dry-down, which I can only smell when I bring my arm right up to my nose- it is a heavenly powdery floral skin scent, with just the right amount of vanilla-
Maybe this is Lolita Lempicka’s younger, more introverted sister-
I wish it had a bit more sillage- then it would be a perfect 10!

I liked this when it came out and I still enjoy.
It’s a modern fragrance that features at least some real note i.e. floral.
It smells sweet without being sickening, girlish but elegant, sensual intense but not projecting 5 meters.
For me it was one of the most wearable and pleasant scents of those years. I can wear it now without a problem. Not one of my big loves, but surel
