Description
After ‘the golden version’ Must de Cartier Gold presented in 2015, which was praised a lot, this time Carier introduces Must de Cartier in perfume concentration. MUST DE CARITER PARFUM arrives in a flacon of the same form as previous editions of the Must de Cartier collection, but this time with red glass.
Must de Cartier is the first fragrance by the house of Cartier which enchanted us with refreshing and very green galbanum notes. Femininity and sensuality of the oriental composition are reflected in a blend of beautiful floral notes of jasmine balanced with warm, deep and soft shades of vanilla spiced with characteristic green shades of galbanum. Top notes of the strongest concentration of Must de Cartier Parfum blooms with jasmine blossom above galbanum in the heart, while softness and sensuality of vanilla originate from the base.
Fragrance Must de Cartier Parfum can be purchased as 50ml.

I am so happy to have found this perfume! I was looking for a scent that smelled like my vintage Obsession body powder. Must de Cartier smells more like Obsession body powder even more than the vintage Obsession perfume or cologne! It starts out sharp but soon blooms into creamy vanilla and spices. It is gentle to the nose while also being very present. This fragrance is more appropriate for evening but I still wear it during the day at times when I just don’t care. It’s simply breathtaking.

My signature perfume Must De Cartier I eventually found back in the early 80s after years of searching and testing fragrances and returning home empty handed with a sad unfulfilled look on my face much to the disappointment of my late husband. From that point on my late husband would always get me Must De Cartier for My birthday and he always gave me wads of cash to go buy more every time the sales were on, I often returned with 5 or 6 Must De Cartier products and a beaming smile on my face. It also meant when prices skyrocketed i did not have to worry as i had quite a large stash tucked away. When friends and other people ask what fragrance i am wearing I often reply Must De Love AKA Must De Cartier because it reminded me of my beloved late husband Kevin. Because it had took me so long to find a perfume that I absolutely loved I squired away a number of unopened bottles knowing one day it would possibly be discontinued. I was in my late teens and knew nothing about fragrances back then just that i had found the one that screamed my name. The only time had had heard the word reformulation back then was on TV adverts for shampoos conditioners hair colours etc lol Making products better supposedly. So you cam imagine my disappointment when i decide to treat myself to a new bottle for my birthday in 2013 10 months after my husband had passed.
I was so disappointed in the reformulation that i returned home empty handed and comforted my self with a quick sprits from 1 of the bottles in my stash draw curtesy Kevin 🙂

Gorgeous green vanilla…nevertheless there is definitely something vetiver-y that reminds me of Djedi and Onda..

I think this is quite a good reformulation. It is less balsamic and oriental than the original formulation – the green notes have been given a boost, while the balsamic notes are softer than in the original. However I still love it, since, despite some small changes, it still smells closer to the original than it has for some years.
(For those who have not experienced the original, this is a striking green oriental featuring sweet, ambery/balsamic notes cut by an incisive galbanum note. It was chosen, quite rightly imho, by Michael Edwards in his book “Perfume Legends” as one of the greats of 80s perfumery.)

You have to be a very careful where you purchase it.
Yes buy straight from a good retailer.
The formula in Nieman Marcus is absolutely non acceptable.
Go to Bloomingdales !
I am not kidding at this moment.

I’m testing this now, but I’m shocked it smells very similar to the first one I remember from mid 80’s, unlike the new edp.

The bottle looks extremely similar to Grés Cabaret pour homme.

Reformulation my dear, reformulation.
