I own this in the new EDP. At first, I really didn’t like it & was considering listing it on eBay. I tried different ways of wearing it (in my hair, etc.) but just found it too strong and just not enjoyable to me. It almost smelled a bit cheap even. All I smell is the musk which is synthetic so that actually makes sense I guess. Also, it’s very oily so it’s not something you can spritz & walk through. Anyway, I recently gave it another go & found that if I press very lightly I can get a tiny drop out of the spritzer & only then can I really appreciate this scent. So I’m basically applying it like I would one of their pure perfumes. This is a 100 ml bottle & about the same price as the pure perfume so in that respect it’s pretty incredible-would take forever to get through a bottle & the price doesn’t seem so bad that way. As for the fragrance, it smells to me of white musk, florals (I wish they were more pronounced) & I’d say sandalwood. It’s clean & sexy. I think I’m growing to like it more & more each time I wear it in this very light manner.
Edit-The notes TerrieP mentions seem accurate. It’s white musk, very light florals & I’m starting to wonder if there’s some Ambergris in here. There is that addictive quality.

My list of notes from the 90’s
White Musk Oil are the top notes
Musk and amber are the top notes, and a very light bouquet of white flowers, lily of the valley, seringa, gardenia, and jasmine composes the background of this composition. Wonderful for a first perfume

The Musk Oil I own by Henry Jacques, is from the 1990’s and is a very different creature from what’s listed here.
I smell a lot of sandalwood, damask rose and white musk. I worked at a store in Sarasota Fl, back in the 1990s named Body Scentsations, where they sold a lot of hard to find perfumes and Niche before it was considered niche, like Parfums di Nicolai and Annick Goutal. This is an oil form and the longevity is very good on me, but it’s not a powerhouse, it wears very close to the skin. It’s one of my favorites.
