Description

Clean, subtle, sexy, and delicate fragrance is slightly milky, opening with ambrette seed. The heart is subtle and floral with tarragon, lily-of-the-valley and rose, while the musky base evokes the refinement and softness of shower-fresh skin wrapped in plush terry towel.

It is available as 100 ml EDP. Musc Blanc was launched in 2009.

This perfume is barely there, the musk is so soft you practically have to vacuum your skin with your nose to find any lingering scent at all.
It is slightly better when your skin is warm and on your clothing.
I save this for bed and layering.

I have been very lucky with almost all the Laurence Dumont fragrances that I’ve tried. I got this is a fabulous 4x10ml sampler box that includes: Vanille Bourbon, Vanille Pamplemouse, Figue Sauvag and Musc Blanc. I ended up getting full-sized bottles of each.
Musc Blanc to me is like your favorite snuggly cashmere blanket or sweater after a warm bath. It is not a statement maker but a lovely soft floral musk just memorable enough that your kids will remember you smelling like that when they snuggled in your lap for you read them their bedtime stories and your hubby will remember that smell of you doing whatever “quiet time” or meditative thing you do. To me it’s the loveliest personal scent of skin but better.

I love skin scents. And this musc blanc is wonderful! My usual daily-wear fragrance is Jovan White Musk (I make no apologies for wearing inexpensive fragrances – if it smells good to me, I usually buy & wear it). I bought this one after reading about it’s white musky, heaven-like creaminess. At first spray, it’s an innocent citrus/fruit/soapy smell, though I can’t put my finger on what it is… Must be the Lilly of the valley and ambrette? Usually, I stay away from florals because they tend to smell “old lady” on me, but thankfully, there’s none of that happening here! 🙂 About five minutes later that same scent becomes like a creamy-citrus-lotion sorta-scent. One hour later, I am enjoying the reason this fragrance is so liked. It enfolds into this creamy cake-like lemon musk that reveals itself to others around you through your skin’s warmth. Compared to Jovan White Musk, it’s brighter, a little more flowery, whereas the former is a more woody, dry yet creamy white musk. It’s nice and it layers well with my JWM.

A friendly musk-vanilla-gourmand with a touch of white flowers for me, but no rose. Then again, I like the heavy hitting roses like Stella McCartney. This gives off a similar vibe as The Body Shop White Musk.

Have given this one a few wears and it seems to be a bit different every time.
The first few seconds of this remind me of the smell of a YMCA. Something akin to chlorine. It’s not bad/offensive though.
The musk itself is mildly creamy/fatty and so there is definitely a slight gourmand quality going on here. The tarragon note is fresh and unique, the rose is very soft.
I find this makes a good bedtime scent. It’s soft, comforting and completely non-intrusive.

I smell absolutely NO musk in this and I am not anosmic to musk. It barely smells like anything but what I detect is just alcohol and faint generic white flowers. Like filler flowers in a cheap bouquet. Nothing “milky” and I certainly am not getting the white terry towel effect. It just smells like nondescript semi fragrance that is not noteworthy in any shape, form or fashion. It serves absolutely no type of purpose. I see no reason for anyone to ever consider applying this. What would be the point? Worst blind buy ever. If you are looking for musk, look elsewhere because you won’t find any in this.
EDIT: I gave this to my mom and she loves it. She likes soft florals and she likes the fact that you can barely smell it. She said she can wear it to the doctor’s office without worrying that it is “too much” in a tiny exam room. So, my musk disappointment turned out to be a perfect soft floral for my mom.

Dusty, dry, annoying “not a perfume”. I can’t imagine wearing this alone. I just tried layering it with Thierry Mugler Womanity that turns way too fresh on my skin (can’t wear fresh scents) and i quite like how it turned out, because musk brings the freshness down to the ground.

This is the only perfume I can wear when I’m sick. It’s a joyfully soft scent, and somehow feels uplifting although not bracing, “hugging” although not enveloping. It makes me happy but also a tiny bit wistful, which I like.
I don’t feel it as a skin scent for me, though, for it’s a touch too spicy and foody. If your skin smells a little like this I envy you. 😉 Mine is more along the lines of EL’s Sensuous Nude and Avon’s Sweet Honesty with their similar honey notes. Musc Blanc and Sweet Honesty are nearly note-for-note, but the tarragon and the ambrette make little spicy clouds that float around the former, while in the latter the honey and hyacinth are thickening.
Like MrsLetterO says, it’s a foody rose in Musc Blanc! The first time I wore this, I looked around twice wondering if my neighbours in the front apartment of my house were cooking something delicious.
Musc Blanc is so comforting and familiar. The only place I would wear this out is… to Grandma’s! I feel a little vulnerable when I wear Musc Blanc. I have scented some of my pyjamas with it around the back of the neckline. On fabric, the tarragon note is really noticeable and makes me think of an herb garden. Sweet dreams…

I have been enjoying trawling through the Laurence Dumont scents at M&S. Nothing too complex, everything very pretty with memories from the past.
Musc Blanc is the most simple scent of all. You want white musk without any extras? This is it.
The minute I took my first sniff I was back at school where the Body Shop’s White Musk reigned supreme. Everyone smelt clean, fuzzy, bright & huggable. MB is more refined & less static-floral but the simple, nostalgic, warm-towel effect is just the same.
It is, indeed, a memory scent: mothers & towels, freshly powdered baby bottom, clean linen, newly washed skin, a swoosh of sun-dried hair.
MB smells of youth at any age.

Fresh as a baby’s bottom is how you will smell, if you choose to don Laurence Dumont Les Senteurs Gourmandes MUSC BLANC. Simple, clean, and very slightly sweet. This is one of the simplest musk compositions I’ve ever smelled, and I must say that I do not notice the tarragon or the ambrette in this blend at all. Nor do I detect any flowers. No, what I smell is clean, clear musk–almost a “not a perfume” perfume, to be honest.
My only complaint about this likeable, socially acceptable even to perfume haters creation is that the opening salvo of alcohol nearly knocked me out. But I’d say that anyone who is looking specifically for a not at all perfumey clean musk, should give this modestly priced and well-named creation from Laurence Dumont a sniff.

I would describe this fragrance as opposite Jo Malone anything. Musc Blanc is light, warm, and barely there. This is little miss goody two shoes on the block, no pow, no wow, just,”I’m a Lady” ( done in my sexiest southern drawl).
This would be a nice church, meet the parents, or PTA meeting fragrance. It’s very inoffensive and soft.
I can see myself layering this fragrance with a sharp floral, something like Violet Blonde. The muskiness is very nice, smooth, velvety but I would need a layer of a wham bam thank you ma’am on top of it because this fine lady is a little too camera shy for me.
Thank you to the lovely Bookishbeauty for gifting me this sample.

I read that this line is supposed to evoke scent memories from childhood, and I had a very strong reaction to this one. It is a very pleasant association, but it is not something I would want to wear as a perfume, if that makes sense. I gave it to my daughter, but I wanted to share the scent memory.
When we would go visit my grandparents (a once or twice a year event), she usually baked cookies before we got there so we could eat them during the whole trip. Their house was always impeccably clean. When I would walk into their house for the first time, I would go into the kitchen and wash my hands so I could eat a cookie right away. They always had those really squishy, cushy paper towels that almost feel like cloth and have a slight laundry musk perfume to them (anyone know the ones I mean?), and my grandma favored powdery rose perfumes for herself and for potpourri for the house.
So, Musc Blanc = Grandma’s clean kitchen with lingering cookie smell plus a whiff of the spice cabinet, her rose perfume trail, and squishy paper towels after washing with soap. Exactly.

I came across Les Senteurs quite by acccident…I was looking through some sale stuff at House of Fraser. After searching I found Vanille violette and Vanille Pamplemousse (the 2 notes I can’t resist)and ordered them blind. Sometimes you just get lucky. Pamplemousse is my find of the year so far. I’m in love. So I bought this too and it doesn’t disappoint for one clear reason and that is because on me it smells like turkish delight. OMG. The rose isn’t typical because it’s rose found in cooking. Not easy to find where I live I’ll be calling my mate in France over this one!

Very soft…all of the notes are pretty well detectable, but the rose is different than the typical rose in most perfumes. Fresh without being too sharp.
