To my inexperienced nose this is definitely masculine with a high animal dose of Ambergris with a thin and sharp salty taste. This note is perceived between my nostrils as dense similar hot oil-tincture.
While patchouli and white truffles contrast giving a kind of hair.
Moss and vetiver can make you imagine a land a bit dirty rude, shameless, overbearing but also alternates with a companion with an elegant, clean and tidy touch.
Personally I do not like the feeling of oil but I was surprised by the white truffle very apt. Realistic.
Musc Ambre Gris reminds me a lot of Ballena de pampa without yellow flowers and the sweet note.
The amber, incensed, meditative side echoes Methaldone of Aether.
Suitable for day and night and well-dressed.
Not my type but it is of quality, deep and lasting.
The price is high but also the format (100 ml). So in line with other fragrances.
I advise trying out the discovery set on sale in their website across the board which is rather rather convenient.

I got a spritz and a sample of this at the Esxence show in Milan Mar 2018 and it is mightily impressive. It may because I am naive and unnacustomed to what an Ambegris-Musk combination should smell like but as a first impression to a relatively amateur nose this appears to be beautifully composed with good to excellent sillage and very good longevity. As for the aldehyde / synthetic / natural balance I afraid I simply don’t know enough about perfumery to comment but it does smell very smooth with the vetiver and maybe patchouli notes just edging in with a little spicy sweetness.
The theme of this product as part of the Affinessence Base Notes Collection is just that, no harsh or superfluous top notes whatsoever – straight down to business and what a lovely job they have done.
I would be most interested to hear the opinion of an experienced and knowledgable nose.
In the meantime – I simply adore this frag.
