This is the WORST blind buy I have EVER made. I use and love CSP Vanille Abricot and I love it, so I thought “what the hell” and bought this for a steal on ebay. It was a mistake. There is NO MUSK in this. I love musk. All musks. Laundry musk, dirty musk, give me all the musk. This is not musk. This is my dad’s bottle of White Rain hairspray from 1985 with an basenote of sickening butter/popcorn. I hope it works for somebody bc for me it doesn’t even work as a linen spray. I was looking forward to this so much but am so sad I bought it! If anybody wants the giant 100ml bottle, I will gladly trade or sell for a steal!

This smells like a public toilet with air freshener in it

I bought this one blindly due to my love of musk fragrances and while I do like it, I don’t love it. It’s not “musky” enough for me. I get BBW Warm Vanilla Sugar in the opening… I mean it’s dead on. The sugary vanilla calms down a bit after about 30 minutes or so and it turns into a light floral vanilla in a musk base.
It is easily wearable and inoffensive and I would have no problem wearing it to the office. It lasts about 6 hours on me, and stays very close to the skin during that time.

Very light and ideal for summer, all the notes listed are amongst my favourites but for me it all adds up to something far too sweet. There is nothing animalistic to this musk that I can detect. To me this is not a perfume for grown ups but ideal for very young, it smells like candy, where is the amber?

Fresh, it reminds me of the see breeze and the ocean depth. Wonderful in those hot Summer days when you just feel any perfume is way too strong to wear. Perfect for day use, office or shopping. Not the greatest sillage, keep it in your bag and spray it any time you want, completely inoffensive and lovely.

Unlike CRISTAL DE MUSC, Comptoir Sud Pacifique MUSC ALIZE actually has enough “stuff” in it to count as a perfume. The main note to my nose is jasmine. In fact, I’d describe this composition as a light jasmine perfume with a clean musk base. By the drydown, I do finally detect a touch of ylang and vanilla, but they are really quite light, and the jasmine still dominates.
This would be a great jasmine choice for people prone to white flower headaches and also for those who cannot tolerate indoles. There is no poo here whatsoever: not a single tiny turd!
Clean, light, very gently floral jasmine is the essence of this perfume. It smells very nice, and should be a welcome casual choice not only for those who prefer non-idolic jasmine, but also those who eschew sweaty musk. Not drop of sweat here either. No, it’s clean, clean, clean and resinous. MUSC ALIZE is not, however, a part of the laundry scent crowd, since there is no detergent residue or soap scent here whatsoever.
Just a fresh breeze of jasmine with lots of airiness in between. Perfectly suitable for libraries and also the modern open cubicle office, I think.

First applied it smells like hairspray but it fades very quickly and leaves a beautiful light, powdry scent. The musk is very subtle and unique. I love it and with comptoir sud pacifique scents you can’t do wrong anyways.

Musc Alize is gorgeously ethereal. Soft, dreamy, sweet and clean. The lightest of light florals (jasmine, ylang ylang and violet), vanilla and the barest coconut shavings (though I don’t think they’re in the notes), making it just that little bit edible, like angelic candy. A must-try if you’re after a lighter musk because it’s unique in that I can’t think of other light musks I’ve smelt that it’s similar to (not that I’ve smelt them all!), but not Narciso Rodriguez, Egyptian musks, Coty Wild Musk, the Jovan musks, Parfums de Coeur musks, BPAL red or black musks (though some of these musks go deeper). If anything, it might be closest to a white musk (and it is in the base notes), though it’s not discernable of what I usually smell as white musk, it’s lighter and sweeter and softer…
And speaking of soft, Alize is very much that. I think you’d need the 100ml so you can spray it all over like a body spray almost!! Sometimes it lasts on me and sometimes it doesn’t, and like a few musks (Egyptian Musk for one) there’ll be times when I don’t think it’s there and then it turns up again! I almost didn’t get it for that reason, but it really is too pretty to pass up.
