Description
Marco Serussi is known as a fashion brand dedicated to men and it offers a collection of shirts and accessories. In 2013, in collaboration with prominent perfumers, the house is launching three fragrances for men in the MS collection: classic MS Homme, pure MS White and oriental MS Oud.
MS White is a fragrance for men launched as a representative of purity and freshness. Its composition starts with notes of lemon and green apple, along with sparkling grapefruit and juicy mandarin. The heart provides mint, violet, lavandine, along with various spices: cardamom, cinnamon and nutmeg. The base is very warm and soft, created of tonka, musk and amber. MS White is signed by perfumer Julie Massé of the house of Mane.
The nose behind this fragrance is Julie Masse.

To me, MS White smells just a bit sweet and is aromatic but not of the “spicy” or “incensey” kind. The cinnamon is there but not enough to stand out. It’s well blended. This is a sharp, dry fragrance. A bit powdery but not enough to bother me. I think it’s the amber giving it that thick blanket of smell at the base. I don’t detect the musk. The tonka is slightly present. This is a unique fragrance. I’m not crazy about it but every time I smell it, it smells different, so it’s interesting. It warrants regular exploration.
It is not a sillage or projection monster but it lets itself known and it lasts 3 or 4 hours. It’s one of those fragrances that when being close to people, especially women, they go, “Oh wow, you smell so good. It’s unique.” I mean, a woman could pull this off easily since to me it smells gender-neutral, and I would react positively to it. It does not smell like a man. It smells like something really nice for whoever wants to wear it.
If I could compare it to a fragrance I own, it’s in the vicinity of Lacoste L.12.12, but side by side, MS White doesn’t smell so fruity or so wet. It smells drier and warmer, while the Lacoste is cooler and goes in an opposite direction. But to me they smell NOTHING alike; just that the overall character of the fragrance is similar.
MS White is definitely a white fragrance and a safe blind buy. It’s not “weird” or disappointing like most blind buys one makes when trying new stuff. Three sprays is enough. This is not a skin fragrance by any stretch. It will project nicely and leave a trail to make someone wonder what’s that gorgeous smell. I would wonder!
