Don’t be fooled by the black bottle and noir-ish moonlight theme. This is a light, lovely daytime scent that I used to wear as a young woman. Whereas the original (Pearls and Lace) was quite powdery, this one has a clarity that I find easier to wear.
This is a sweetened, but not too sweet, linear floral blend. (Floral sweetness, especially in older scents tends to be a different kind of sweetness that gourmand sweetness).
It hints at an oriental base, but don’t expect to be knocked out by vanilla or amber. In strength and tone, it reminds me of many white musk/sweet musk scents, but that doesn’t get at what it really smells like– simple, but hard to describe, because there is really nothing like it on the market today to compare it to.
Recommended if you’ve tried and failed with vintage florals because they are just too much.

“It is a basic vintage type of women’s perfume; fairly nice, pretty decent, very average, all in all an inoffensive perfume.”–that is what came to mind when I got this off of ebay and tested this. “A basic, average women’s perfume smell”… Nothing specific or special, but nice…… “A general ‘perfume’ smell”.
While perusing fragrantica one day, I don’t know how I came across this little bugger, but I did. I tend to shy away from Avon frag’s. I just generally do not have luck with Avon frag’s, they often smell cloying and/or synthetic to me. But I do agree with the review below mine, some of the older Avon frag’s are lovely. I just do not have luck with the newer creations.
I would say the accords listed are more accurate to me than the notes here. I really can’t pick apart specific notes. Not heavy, moderate. A little floral, a little warm, somewhat of a cozy type of scent. Nice. I think fairly inoffensive, but, as with any fragrance, can hit noses different ways. But I find this “nice,” and again, I love 80’s fragrances. This is one that would be nice to put on for quick trips to the grocery store, rainy days spent at home lounging, that sort of thing. All in all, a fairly easy fragrance to wear. No specific notes really stand out, this just smells like a “basic slightly vintage women’s perfume”.
Anyway, this is lovely. Being honest, I bought this mainly because I liked the look of the bottle design…And I kind of thought, it might be nice to add a vintage Avon frag to the collection. I do love the 80’s frag’s!!
