Slightly anonymous fruit smoothie; classically French stuff with velvety-gentle transitions between notes and phases. Not really my territory – all a bit girlish and light-pink-y for me – but somehow not all that inspiring or surprising anyway… it all slightly melts into a rather generic, if still luxe, vague fug of delicate lotion-y sweetness. Sweet and mild overall, though to its credit it doesn’t cloy or shriek – everything’s well under control. Smell of an upmarket but characterless hotel’s bathroom freebies? Totally inoffensive, could be worn anywhere or to anything, with discreet to modest projection and performance to match its pretty discreet ambition. Very femme in my view, but wear whatever you like. The later musk-powder-vanilla phase is the one I enjoy most … and my official sample card from Micallef claims the powdery note at the bottom is “rice powder”, which would make sense because it’s oddly toasty and authentic and warm compared to the rest of the scent, on my nose at least. Competent and classy, but for me – it’s just a meh. Lovers of specifically powdery florals may adore it though.
