I had to triple check to make sure that this is the same as what everyone else is talking about.
It started with a rather promising fruity note, somewhere between plum and raspberry and a perfumey freshness that stopped just short of being too perfumey for me and seemed sort of elegant. There are a couple of scents with an iris note that works on my skin and it reminded me of that. I also got a hint of something darker like our or lanbdum but it was gone before I could identify it.
And then it transformed into one of the soapiest things I’ve ever smelled. Suds for days, like unscented bubble bath. Occasionally I smell something that might be Lilly. No more plum. No heady florals. Nothing dark or woody. Just soap.
I would wager that iris is a strong unlisted note. Sometimes my skin reacts to it this was. Clearly this isn’t for me.

This one should be called “Modern Muse Absolue”. The original MM should be “MM Chic” and the MM Le Rouge should be just “Modern Muse” :))
The original Modern Muse is the freshest, most vibrant and sorta florally “green”. “Chic” name would suit it the best. MM is similar to Sara Jessica Parker Lovely.
MM Le Rouge is the fruitiest, sweetest one with dominant and synthetic raspberry note. The rose note there actually makes it worse.
And this MM Chic is the deepest, muskiest, darkest and most intense version out of all three, due to strong, sweet, creamy tuberose, musk, and plum…MM Chic is a little similar to Narciso Rodriguez line.
I would wear MM for day/spring/summer, and MM Chic for night/fall/winter, and definitely skip MM Le Rouge.

The main difference between this and the original MM is how much colder this smells. If MM is a warm honeyed embrace of a young lover, this registers like a heavy platinum bullion, cold as ice, smacking you right in the face.
    Love it. Absolutely love it.
Ice cold jasmine, arrogant and ripe lily, and some sinister shadow of a tuberose… Really well rounded and polished. The combo is ever so slightly indolic… as much as the modern mass market perfume temperament will allow it. Hence not that much. My bottle will need to get dirtied up a little; for I won’t tolerate a ‘pretty’ white floral in any shape or form. Still getting next to no real musk – what a big massive surprise! It is somewhat deep, so I can feel the light injection of woods and patchouli. There’s no vanilla in this.
I wish the tuberose note were more dominant over the lily accord. It has become so predictable now to castrate tuberose like so, and turn it into some eunuch of a note. This lacks ripeness and that slightly narcotic listless quality that I deem to be so desirable. But EL has achieved great success w/ PC Tuberose Gardenia… I counted on them to make another big investment in some green-and-mean tuberose handled with a gentle silky hand.
It is not this one, that’s for sure.
Also surprised there’s no honeysuckle in the pyramid, because I myself can definitely feel it. Yet the otherwise cheery honeysuckle note I imagine breathing here warms absolutely nothing.
It is not as sweet nor animalic as Elie Saab Le Parfum. That one feels significantly warmer and more skin friendly, both the regular one and the intense version. This beauty proudly sits on top of your epidermis, never merges fully. The drydow is very similar to the original MM, but a bit more… insolent?
Great haughty white floral. To be looked at and admired, but not to be handled with grubby hands. I find her magnificent and desirably distant. And will work as a perfect top layer for something like Tsar or Antaeus or even Aramis when the occasion calls for some olfactory androgyny.

    Intense version of Morden muse.
However I think Morden muse was reformulated a year later to accommodate for Morden muse chic. Morden muse lost its intensity and Morden muse chic gained it all.

This IS Elie Saab Le Parfum, but while the latter settles quickly into the skin, nearly disappearing into a sweet musk veil, Chic remains more floral, jasminey-tuberose with a slight sourness and indolic note for about 10 minutes before becoming, like Saab’s creation 3 years earlier, a sweet and nutty floral gourmand.
Of the two, from limited testing (in hot weather), I prefer Le Parfum, which is more subtle, cleaner and better blended.
UPDATE: While Le Parfum is quieter, it lasts much longer. (Perhaps this review is on the wrong page? Sometimes similarities really jump out at me and it’s impossible not to think of one fragrance vis-a-vis another!)

Sophisticated and beautiful. I just don’t know why they named it “Chic” there’s nothing chic about it. Minus the name, I like it more than the original.

Modern Muse chic does not wash off, this powerfully clings on for dear life. I am in between don’t like and like, there is a huge similarly to an Avon fragrance, I must check on this.

Heavy on the tuberose but still very soft not like Gucci Bloom. It is dark no sparkly aldahydes not sweet. Sophisticated. Nice!

As a gift I was critical of the bottle design, and niether am I an ardent fan of soliflore Tuberose nor Lily fragrances. But Modern Muse Chic combines these two white florals in elegant harmony with Jasmine so much that I like wearing it daily for work. MMC is a lovely, understated feminine fragrance great for situations when I want to wear a pretty fragrance that sits close to my skin. I feel quietly gorgeous wearing this perfume.

I’ve just finished my 50ml bottle and i will repurchase it. I love the smell from start to drydown. It is the only perfume i always get when i dont know what to wear. It suits any occations any weathers. Love it

I found Modern Muse Chic to be very heavy with tuberose. The tuberose note stood out for me more than jasmine or lily. If you love tuberose perfumes then you should love this. I’m not a big fan of tuberose so I won’t say I love it but it’s not a bad perfume… it’s a nice white floral fragrance.

I found this on clearance 1oz for $18 at marshalls awhile back. I ended up returning it because i thought it smelled too heavy on me. Im guessing the oud is what gave me that impression. Modern muse chic is a heavy white floral.. Its a beautiful fragrance. I did go back to repurchase and it was already gone. I was kicking myself in the butt for losing that one. Moral of the story, always give a new scent the chance to bloom on your skin before you decide that its not for you.

Modern Muse Chic is clearly in the same family with original Modern Muse, but to me it’s way more wearable as it’s better blended.
It opens with a realistic jasmine on a bed of light woods. A hint of plum rounds the scent, but it’s not a sweet or fruity fragrance, it’s rather dry.
Over the time more notes join in. Musk and patchouli are noticeable, but subdued, while they were harsh and sharp on me in the regular MM EDP. The scent dries down to an almost skin like, creamy and feminine blend of musk, light patchouli, and soft leather with a hint of dark plum and white florals.
To me MM Chic is an allrounder scent that could be worn anytime and anywhere, except on very hot summer days. It’s pleasant and subtle, but not generic or boring, soft but with a darker edge.

I just threw 2 samples, I have original edp two by 1.5ml and I tried them 3 times. Here, from my nose, it comes out that it is a gardenia with something pre-treated. Damn bloody, 100% sugar in sugar or something like that, I can not stand it. Although I like gardenia like Estee Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia, either in Gardenia M. Micallef for women, or even in Pure Poison CH. Dior.
But some creamy accent in this fragrance i cant stand.
So I do not know what the final durability is.
    No chic.

Hmm…the only reason I tested Modern Muse was because of the leather, cashmere, Artemis and oud notes- and you can’t feel any of those in MMC.( Otherwise, I stay away from fruits in my perfumes and am afraid of tuberose because they can be so overwhelming. And lily ? Not my cup of tea. I do however love jasmine. ).
BUUUT, there’s a long BUT coming- it’s so well blended!
To me, Modern Muse Chic is a plum compote and with a very realistic tuberose and jasmine, one of the nicestes, inoffensive tuberose ever smelled.Like you are sipping from a special on the go cup of a tea blend from your favorite tea house with jasmine tea and plum-compote at room temperature with a hint of plum stone almondy undertone, while wearing your favorite leather jacket, carefree and with no rush or agenda for that day. The plum is not jammy, sweet and sticky, is airy, watery somehow but pretty powerful and present. And is also somehow linear, it doesn’t really evolve much or surprisingly – I really like this in some of my perfumes- linear fragrances are like best friends- you know what to expect from them, no surprises.
The plum is a bit sour and gives a very natural feel to tuberose and jasmine- MMC almost falls under a fruity floral with an edge- to me.
MMC reminds me a lot of other fragrances I used to wear. I did smell something similar before. (there’s something reminding me of Storia by Isabella Rosellini, my highschool perfume, maybe). It also gives me a vibe of a late 90′ s fragrances , Estee’s Muse is not sheer nor a fluffy musky cloud like most of modern fragrances dry downs. It is however, a modern, all day around, office and day to day one and also has a boheme vibe- long fluid dressses, suede boots, leather jacket, loose long hair or a chic pixie, smile on your face.

Intense trio of jasmine, tuberose and lily, and ebony and plum on the back makes it smell very heavy. It’s quite equal to the original Modern Muse, but newest version is little bit heavier. Had both of them, can’t name them unique. I can’t like them mostly because of jasmin which makes me nervous. Bottles are very elegant.
    5+ on the longevity scale

Modern Muse Chic is a great animalic white floral! I love the prominent sweet lily, and the artemisia up top and the suede and ebony in the base add some edgy interest. Thankfully I don’t detect the cashmeran. Typically high quality perfume from Estée Lauder.

    4 out of 5

Modern Muse Chic takes inspiration from the original Modern Muse, however I find this flanker to be a tad muskier and richer than its predecessor.
Modern Muse Chic features a delicious plum accord which pairs beautifully with the white florals and the patchouli. Just like the original Modern Muse I find this fragrance to be very classic and elegant. It’s quite a grown-up, mature scent that will likely appeal to those between the ages of 25 and above. Younger consumers will more likely than not prefer the sweeter, fruitier Modern Muse Le Rouge.
The oud in Modern Muse Chic is detectable however it is extremely inoffensive and soft. I find the patchouli to be far more dominant on my skin, followed by lily, jasmine sambac, plum, white musk and cashmere wood.
Modern Muse Chic is admittedly not my favourite Estee Lauder fragrance as it unfortunately turns a little sour with my chemistry. I do however consider Modern Muse and Modern Muse Chic to be some of the better fragrances from this house.
Modern Muse Chic has reasonable longevity and projection. I would recommend this fragrance for wear during Autumn and Spring. I also find this fragrance inoffensive enough to be worn as an office scent.

Oh, how I wish this smelled on me the way so many of you describe it! Unfortunately, the fragrance disappears in less than an hour, and all that’s left is the faint smell of cat urine. I have a full bottle to swap for anyone who’s interested. Tell me what you might have in exchange.

I really don’t like this one. I like heavy perfumes but this one is so heavy that it makes me sick. It’s super spicy and heavy. Longevity is so good I still can smell i from my clothes after several days.

I loooove this! Can there be such a thing as a “dark” white floral? Muse Chic proves the answer is a resounding YES. This is a very strong jasmine sambac and tuberose with a dark side: a base of leather, musk, patchouli and Oud. This is a great example of a good girl gone bad type of scent, the elegant classy perfume, with a dirty skanky heart. It could easily become a new favorite for me, the silage is great, hopefully the longevity is also good I will update later.

I’m obsessed with Modern muse.it’s among my top ten favorites and I’ve already purchased a back off bottle of it(something I rarely do,very rare) I’ve been looking forward to test modern muse chic for months.I couldn’t accept risk of blind buy for it has very risky notes.I highly dislike oud, labdanum, strong woody notes and animalic scents.I also thought adding plum to modern muse won’t be a good idea and in whole I didn’t see much chance to like it.finally I found an opportunity to try it on my skin.I was surprised to see it’s more than 70℅ similar to modern muse! actually when first applied I thought I’m testing original modern muse by mistake.the same adorable fresh white floral bouquet, jasmine sambac being strongest floral note, blended with best type of the musk, which is sexy and clean the same time.but soon first difference showed up.modern muse chic is less sweet.it lacks honeysuckle sweetness of it’s first born sister.I believe if I wasn’t so familiar with Modern muse I wouldn’t detect this slight difference and I would find first half an hour of these two almost identical.but as time passes other differences become clear.modern muse chic has a woody base which make it deeper, less sweet and even more sophisticated and adds a hint of dark undertone to it’s bright floral theme.in modern muse, musk and a hint of patchouli add a sensual naughtyness to Innocent florals but here there’s more than just patchouli.this woodsy base makes modern muse chic dryer and give it a mysterious vibe opposed to floral innocence.I usually don’t like woody scents but I like cashmere wood and I find woody base of modern muse chic pleasant and not heavily masculine
But woody notes and less sweetness aren’t only differences between the two sisters. This floral-woody-musky scent is wrapped in a warm, soft piece of high quality and expensive suede.
Suede/leather is something I may hate in a perfume, when it smells like car tyres or when it’s dirty, oily and animalic but I adore it when it appears soft and feminine.it can add unique softness, warmth and refinement and it’s done right in modern muse chic
All in all there’s enough similarity between MM and MM chic to see them as sister perfumes.MM chic is less sweet,a little dark and mysterious, warmer, deeper, more sophisticated, more complex, more serious, formal and classy while MM is brighter, more fresh and playful, more feminine, more youthful and more sexy
I love them both and I know that I need a bottle of chic flanker too.they’re both wearable year round but while MM is more of a spring scent,MM chic can be great for fall.I see MM as a perfume without age limitations but I believe MM chic is better for+25,even +30
I can’t detect any of oud or labdanum and I don’t miss them even a bit. I also couldn’t detect plum but it was my first test
MM has amazing longevity on my skin.MM chic is also very long lasting and I could smell it on my skin after more than 12hours.I can’t comment on it’s sillage yet but I feel it would have good projection like it’s sister

It’s a more fruity sister of the modern muse. Feminine and youthful, without being immature, the fig is playful and full of life (reminds me of dried figs). Smells like a young woman who is a go getter in life but also knows when to have fun.

  25. :

    5 out of 5

When I was testing Modern Muse Chic in the store the only notes I would pick were tuberose, a soft leather/suede (obviously) and jasmine. And it does have a good woody base. Lasted up to 5 hours and then became a skin scent. Moderate projection. I’m fine with any projection really as long as I’m happy with the longevity.
Modern muse le rouge gloss was a terrible experience for me, and for a long time I would not come even close to Modern Muse line, but oh well, hopefully I did! Not disappointed at all! I like the drydown very much, well I love tuberose and I’m happy with jasmine too, and leather/suede is welcome if blended well. And it is blended well here.
Rather linear, a seamless blend. Not too girly. Not too chic either. I see some 25 and over lady dressed in a seductive dress but at the same time very stylish, hair done in a wavy style, someone like Blake Lively and her formal yet sexy outfts.
But if you are over 15 and like florals instead of foodish scents, unlike your peers, you sure can experiment with Modern Muse Chic, and I say that because the base, despite the woody notes, is not fully-developed: an untraceable patchouli, no labdanum, no vanilla, no musk, ebony wood and guaiac wood also not there for me. Cashmeran is the strongest of the wood notes. And cashmeran is lovely!
And also don’t be hesitant because of the animalic claim, yes it it a bit more sensual than the usual, but not unwearable. The right amount of sass for a white floral. Sometimes I swear the only thing I get is tuberose, and that the rest is there to amplify the tuberose. A rounded scent, not a screechy floral, it says “modern” after all doesn’t it?
    A yes from me

I tried Modern Muse Chic a few years ago, liked it a little better than Modern Muse, and promptly forgot about it. I tried it again today on a whim and I really like it! It’s going on my “want” list.
It’s definitely floral, but underneath the clean white flowers a naughty musk winks cheekily. The musk is not heavy or too skanky, but it dirties up what would otherwise be a run of the mill, pretty, innocent floral.
The woods really anchor this fragrance, but it’s a light wood, not heavy or masculine feeling, at all.
One spray from a tester on my wrist filled up my car and I am not sensitive to scents, so you know you are getting a good deal. I am not smelling much fruit but I am perfectly okay with that. This really is a chic perfume. It reminds me of an eighties high end perfume without the stuffiness that can sometimes date those scents, if that makes any sense! (Also, not bashing 80s scents, I LOVE them but I know they are not some people’s cup of tea).
This is safe but not boring. I am sorry I dismissed the Modern Muse line straight out of hand.

Its like modern muse but skankier.
I pick up a lot more musk and patchouli, plus the suede. And a definite earthy wood smell.
The sweetness of the plum really balances everything out well.
To me this is a sexy scent, i see it as something to wear with a sleek black dress.
I really love how this smells a little oriental but also classic musky mixed with a sweet bed of florals

Don’t ask me what I’m smelling, I read the notes and don’t recognise anything.
It has the bite of dolce and gabbana light blue, something Givenchy ou demon has, and the demon the light bottle too, it’s thicker.
    I’m lost.
    Help
    Like it though

    Chic.
Ive seen this reviewed for 30s and up but my young daughter LOVES this and it quite suits her too. I think perhaps because this is a confident fragrance. She is a confident girl. That said, this frag, at a steal, has been a very positive experience.
Firstly, woods are the main player through this non linear darling. To me they are indistinct, a better nose might be able to identify the kind of woods Secondly, I do see the link between the original and this but to my nose, Chic has more evolutions and has a darker story to tell.
On warmer days the plum opening is airy and from the fore start to climb to the height of the scent supporting the flowers which are similar to the original MM BUT underpinning those fresh and delectable plummy flowers are smooth and powdery woods. The woods sit in the base and middle of yhe scent reminding me of a plum orchard that has been recently been ppruned back. Its important to note the floral bouquet does not triumph here.
My only criticism would be that on cooler days this had a harsh opening. It quickly dissipated but it was there. In all I love it.
Complimented by both males and females with this beauty.

I first felt this perfume on an american client lady and she had a small sample in her purse that she gave it to me.I held on that for almost a year searching the perfume in the shops.I didn’t find it so in the end i had to buy it on line. It’s the only Estèe Lauder fragrance that i like.At the first spray is very synthetic. After a few seconds white flowers emerges and a very feminine fragrance comes out.It definitely has a strong character and from my point of view it’s not for under 30 yrs old women. For me it’s a certain RE-buy.

I received a large sample of Modern Muse Chic in a swap. I’ve been testing it out for 4 days and find myself craving the scent and spraying a little on the top of my hand just to smell it even when I’m wearing a different perfume for the day. I decided i need this and Just placed an order for a 3.4oz bottle. This is something i can see wearing every day. First of all… i don’t get any plum, oud or patch. What i do get is a beautiful indolic Jasmine and fleshy tuberose. Suede, musk and the fleshy white florals give this an anamalitic/ dirty quality underneath the classy and sophisticated exterior. It adds depth and sexiness to the fragrace. Its not a super strong obvious anamalitic but noticeable and it’s really addictive. It dries down to a woody musk. Imo this is the perfect blend of class, darkness and sexy. Does anyone else get the anamalitic notes? Sillage is an arms length and after the two hour mark sits closer to the skin but people will smell it when you are standing close to them or walking by. It wisps in the air. Longevity is between 8 to 9 hours. I think it’s a great perfume.

This is Modern Muse Intense. And I adore it. As in all things, it may seem similar to something else, but it’s still a unique fragrance and to me, doesn’t make me reach for something else instead. I do have the “similar/like” perfumes but I also like fried chicken, grilled chicken and chicken soup.
I can’t discern/describe notes well, maybe lily and tuberose, but frankly, have never seen ebony tree before although it is interesting and I will find out what it is.
What can I say? I love this. Check out my perfumes and see if they match what you love (ignore AE, it’s an anomaly) and maybe, you might love this too. And it won’t fall into ebay oblivion.

This perfume is, in my opinion, vastly superior to the prior “Modern Muse.” Modern Muse Chic is the quintessence of a woman with a masculine edge who knows how to make that masculine edge sexy and doable. When I spray on this perfume, I feel like it’s putting a cherry on top of a sundae cone, because it’s like the finishing touch to my wardrobe, my makeup, everything. It’s like tying myself together before I step out the door.
It’s not a fragrance I would use at home, but it’s a fragrance I would use for everything from stepping out of the door to an evening out and even to a classy cocktail party.
The downside is that it is not suitable for use in hot weather. But any other kind of day and this is a signature scent, go-to fragrance. It makes me feel confident, ready to take on life, and I feel as though it balances my feminine-masculine energies.
The only reason why I have not made it my signature scent yet, is because I live in a tropical climate and I need to have a scent that I can wear even on a hot and humid day. That needs to be a part of what makes my signature scent. Otherwise, it is a perfect fragrance and I believe it is attractive to both male and female, because the notes are masculine but also feminine. A woman who likes to climb trees! A tomboy in high heels! A noble woman who likes to ride wild horses in leather boots! Speaking of leather… I smell leather first thing when I spray this on (which I really like).

If you like the original Modern Muse, stick to it. This fragrance messes up the notes without achieving anything distinctively good. A labyrinth of woods, jasmine, patchouli, and vanilla that do not work well together.
This fragrance is trying to become ‘Chic’ like Chanel Chance or Coco Mademoiselle, but it terribly fails to deliver. Not that it is so bad, it is just not good.
    Why Estee Lauder???

I just bought this perfume yesterday. Actually I more preferred to buy Miracle frag by Lancome.
Anyhow, the sales girl advised me to have this perfume due to strong and heavy scent like I preferred more.
After I tried to smell this perfume, I really love it. I think the smell a bit similar with Dolce frag by Dolce and Gabanna.
When I wearin it, I feel like I’m walking in the flower garden, full with Jasmine and tuberose. Smellin so flowery!
This fragrance wearable for all occasion. Let’s try! <3

    Many vibrant, white flowers.
A very similar fragrance is Avon’s Today, which comes in a classy, heavy-weight, square bottle.

  39. :

Be careful with that one, no good choice for a blind buy. It’s not as soft as the bottle looks like… It is heavy, strong and defently to much Patchouli. On my skin I couldn’t find any of the soft notes such as plum, vanilla or jasmine. It is all about the patchouli and leather so I would not recommend this to younger girls. Lasting power is incredible.
If you prefer flowers and freshness try the original Modern Muse.

I like this so much more than Modern Muse. Modern Muse Chic has a beautiful woodiness to it. I think it smells as if you have layered the original Modern Muse with Cashmere Glow from Bath and Body Works. The white flowers and clean musk are still there but blended with a lovely soft, gentle cashmere woodiness.

  41. :

At the first smell, I feel the white flowers, esp. Jasmine and Tuberose, and after a little while the woodsy notes appear and hug my nose and my skin.
I see why it’s called Chic.
I imagine a chic lady in a classic black dress and dark sunglasses wearing this, while walking down a street in the shopping center. This type of woman would wear this.
Althought it starts heavy, to my skin doesn’t last more than 2 hours.
To recommend this? Erm, why don’t you try Modern Muse Le Rouge? I think this has something more to say!

This was a free gift with something I purchased and when I pulled it out of the bag to see what it was, I rolled my eyes and laughed sarcastically.. “Modern Muse Chic”.. ehh no. I was expecting fruity, sweet, synthetic flowers.
Well, I put this on just to test it and I was really surprised at how rich, realistic, mature and heavy it was. The opening consisted of pungent jasmine and sharp lily. It filled my car with the scent of fresh bouquets. A fresh plum gives this just the right amount of fructose to tone down the rich florals. The patchouli gives it a classy Chanel vibe. From this point on, it started transitioning from fresh, white florals to warm, rich amber, vanilla and wood. A few hours later, I got distinct oud – which was honestly shocking coming from an Estée Lauder perfume.
I would recommend this to people who enjoy both rich florals and musky woods. You get the best of both with this one and it lasts ages. Although it comes in a teenage girl bottle and has a stupid name, I would recommend this to the mature and sophisticated. I agree 100% with @gaz525 that this should have not been a flanker of Modern Muse and should have been it’s own fragrance.

I went today to a perfume shop and asked for something loud and with sillage. I didnt have too much expectations but wow!!!!!! the seller nailed it. I loved it so much. Is so original. I tried it 6 hours ago and I can still smell it. I will sample one more time and I am definitely buying it.
Im surprised to read reviews saying is a common fragance, I think is very original and really feminine and delicate.

The most delicate and feminine parfum i’ve ever smelled.
I love using this fragance after shower, before I go to sleep, I find it so relaxing… Its smell transports me to a beautiful universe.
    Try it!

Went to the mall to buy Modern Muse because I was given a sample and loved it. I sprayed both Modern Muse and Modern Muse Chic today and ten minutes later Modern Muse was gone. Without a trace on my skin. This definitely made up my mind. I love the scent, to me the two fragrances are very similar, the Modern Muse is just a little more fresh and floral. Modern Muse Chic was the right one for me. Now, six hours later I can still smell it and it smells divine. Definitely a new favorite for me.

This is a good scent, although it’s not one that I think I would purchase. It is surprisingly musky and woody, I think I smell the oud note listed. The florals are sweet and pleasing, although I wish they were at the forefront instead of being overpowered by the musk. I think I prefer slightly sweeter musky fragrances – this one, like the one in Narciso Rodriguez for her, goes a bit sour on me? Not too sour, just not sweet. All of that being said, if you like musky scents, this is a very good one. And it lasts for ages – I could still smell it clearly after 9 hours! The far drydown becomes a bit common smelling, especially with the cashmeran, but overall, I think it’s a good floral musk, if that’s your thing.

I bought this after smelling it on paper only – big mistake! I find it so strong and overly spicy. It gives me a huge headache and even with one spray its overbearing. It turns out I don’t love spicy perfumes so this one is definitely not for me.
If you like spice and want a very long lasting perfume then this one is for you!

IMHO this is a stronger, louder and sharper version of Modern Muse. I love my Modern Muse but not this one. Just too strong for me, that I can’t take it tho.

A woodier, muskier, less sharp version of the original Modern Muse.
On first try, I didn’t like it much, but I have the rollerball version ( I always find these perform slightly differently to sprays) and have come to appreciate its qualities. Long lasting, suits many situation, not the usual overpowering floral/fruity effect that so many new releases are striving for.

Right off, if you are sensitive to Iso E Super I would stay away from this. There seems to be a ton of it in Modern Muse Chic. I am disappointed in that. I really respect Lauder, and I wish that the woody notes used were a little truer to nature than they are.
I understand that Suede, Cashmere Wood, Musk and “Ebony Tree” are synthetic accords, but I feel that these notes are better executed in other compositions, in Modern Muse Chic those notes just come off as ‘woody’ without having much personality otherwise.
Meanwhile, the Oud, Patchouli, and Labdanum can be a bit more natural smelling, and they are not. I hardly detect the labdanum, and the Oud is very subdued and not too smoky or in your face.
So it sounds like I don’t like this perfume, I do. I like it because of the way it acts on the skin. True to Lauder form it lasts a really, really long time, over 10 hours on my skin, especially if some of it is caught on clothing. It has nice silage too, the perfect amount, enough for a bit of a trai
