Description

Miss Sixty Elixir is the second fragrance by this Italian designer house. Once again, it is a mysterious, oriental perfume with delicious fruity notes and sweet vanilla in the base.
The top notes are star anise and grapefruit. The heart is made of delicate lotus and exotic, tropical borrachero flower with its gentle, spicy accord. Sandalwood and vanilla are in the base.
The perfume was created by Marie Salamagne in 2006.

This is the perfume of my teen years, I remember I asked Santa for a bottle of it just because I was in love with the design, and I wore it to rock concerts and afternoons in the city. It’s sweet without being overwhelming and it has a little sexy kick to it. Not suitable for me now that I’m a young woman, but definitely the top for a cute and yet rebellious teen!

I badly underestimated this the first time I reviewed it. While it is no powerhouse, it is a very lovely, powdery licorice with a bit of sandal, that sits close to the skin and softly intoxicates. It just smells soo good, it’s a very soothing dreamy scent. If you find other licorice scents are too strong or too much for you give this a try.
I find this very similar to Tokyo Milk Tainted Love but I much prefer this one.

Smells very similar to Lolita Lempicka Le Premier fragrance.
Very sweet, heavy, cloudy, powdery etc.

Reminds me off my youth. Very energetic citrus fragrance with a lovely blended predominant lemon and grapefruit scent. It is fresh clean and zingy. I still have my bottle of this although I plan to use it by the end of the summer as it is almost 7 years old now and I feel i am holding on to due to the association it has with my youth. It was and still is a motivating energetic youthful fragrance wish freshens enlightens and inspires.

Having read about wonky bottles I got mine out of the box, and yes, it leans to the side like the Tower of Pisa. Haha. Well I think it’s amusing. A gorgeous bottle. It’s a little 15ml bottle and just pretty. Elixir is a modern oriental floral, very wearable, pleasant, acceptable. I have therefore “damned with faint praise”. It was a blind buy so I’m just glad I like it. Such a risk as even 100% rave reviews don’t guarantee anyone will like a fragrance. Worth trying.

Starts off as a nice fruity floral but not surprisingly (because of the low price), it fades quickly to a faint vanilla/sandalwood. I’ll try it a couple more times in hopes that I didn’t waste my money, but maybe this will finally teach me not to buy before testing! haha

I got a tester bottle of Elixir off the internet “blind” because I’d read good things about it on here and it sounded lovely! Also, being a tester it was available very cheaply!
At first, I was a bit disappointed because it smelled OK but nothing special. It was a bit creamy, vanilla’ish and powdery smelling, a bit like a nice fragrant talcum powder. Also, it didn’t seem to last very long on me.
I haven’t used my Miss Sixty for awhile (only because I have so many other perfumes and ones that I use on a regular basis) but in the past few days I’ve used Miss Sixty several times and each time I wear it I love it more. It’s soooo nice – soft, warm, sweetish, creamy and sexy and on me it lasts for over 12 hours, which is pretty good staying power! It’s the kind of perfume that is soft and subtle enough not to overwhelm but it can definitely be smelled subtly and I keep getting little whiffs of it when I move around, which I love. Now I want to get another bottle as a backup but, as another reviewer has mentioned, it seems to be getting harder and harder to find so I don’t know if it’s being discontinued. I really hope not because to me it’s by far the best Miss Sixty perfume. How annoying if it is being discontinued – why do so many perfume houses get rid of their nice perfumes and keep the crappy, stinky ones? That’s very stupid of them!! So, if anyone knows where I can get my hands on another bottle of this – either on a website (I’m in Europe) or through a swap perhaps – then please let me know !!
If I was Miss Sixty compare this to any other perfume I’d say it reminds me quite a bit of Ocean Pacific Blend, which I also like a lot but can’t seem to find anywhere to buy it now tragically!
So, BIG THUMBS UP from me for Miss Sixty Elixir. It’s a very nice perfume, reasonably priced and with no downside (except maybe for the slight wonkiness of the bottle but the bottle otherwise is OK and I’ve seen MUCH worse!!).

When I first apply this the only note I smell is a lightly powdered, spiced citrus. The licorice like scent of the star anise overtakes the grapefruit note so there is no real bite to the citrus, but it’s definitely there and prevents the star anise from becoming cloying and/or too sweet.
As the fruit dries down, the spicy note carries on and takes on a distinctly clove-like scent, which I’m assuming is the borrachero (brugmansia) flower. I’m not hugely familiar with borrrachero flower but I’ve heard that it’s meant to be intoxicatingly strong, but the sweet and spicy floral note here is fairly mild. It may be that the note of lotus flower is diffusing the strength of it, as I can pick up on the lotus, but it seems watery to me – or maybe there’s a melon accord in the mix? There are clearly other floral notes used in ELIXIR, but the concentrations of borrachero and lotus are higher then them, so I can’t definitely identify any of them with confidence. The only note I’ll take a stab at naming is rose, since there is another powdered-but-sweet note that burns down through to the base.
There is nothing exciting about the base, it’s made up of the same scent notes that the majority of today’s fragrances use; Creamy sandalwood and vanilla, with a hint of airy musk. It’s a nice and familiar blend for the fragrance to dry down with, but it’s boring and just makes it all too similar to almost everything else.
The lasting power is pretty much what I was expecting from a inexpensive EDT; It burns down within four hours and becomes close to the skin within two hours. It’s not that great, but you can buy bottles of ELIXIR for under a tenner, so I think the low price cancels out the so-so lasting power.
The vanilla and spicy florals, paired with the warm musk and sandalwood in the base mean that this is a perfect choice for autumn/winter, whilst the fact that the fragrance is close to the skin, watered down and has a light citrus burst means that the sweetness is soft enough to still appealing during the warmer spring/summer months too.
I suppose it is really a ‘any time’ fragrance, but I tend to stick to daytime wear [both casual use and work] with my bottle. I personally don’t reach for it on nights out as it doesn’t last long and I don’t like carrying around glass bottles for topping up my fragrances.
I received my bottle as a gift and when I wear it I do enjoy it, but for whatever reason I go months without looking at it twice. I think it’s biggest problem is that it reminds me instantly of several fragrances [though I don’t find that surprising with the thousands of mass market perfumes launched each year], so it’s easy to overlook it in favour of wearing something more unique.
If you like any of the Miss Sixty fragrances, the Lolita Lempicka fragrances, Beyonce Heat or Emporio Armani Diamonds, ELIXIR is worth looking out for.
It is nice to be able to wear an oriental fragrance during spring/summer that isn’t cloying and there are other good points too: It’s good for any time of day and all year round, it can be bought for under a tenner, most shops stock it, the bottle is nice for collectors and it can be worn by any age.
As it’s already similar to perfumes I already own, I won’t buy it myself, although it’s nice enough that I would wear it if it were given to me as a gift. I also think that it would be a safe gift choice for someone, as it’s easy to wear and none of the notes are strong enough to be disagreeable.
I’m not sure if it’s being discontinued, but the 50ml and 75ml bottles are becoming harder to find. You can usually buy the 30ml bottle for under a tenner, both on-line and on the high street.

I had Miss Sixty (the fragrance)and I liked it. But Miss Sixty Elixir is the best one : I love it. Sweeter, warmer, sensual and fruity : a very amazing perfume. It lasts all day. The bottle is very original, like a love potion. For young women.

The perfect clubbing-perfume! Got it once in a 15 ml bottle, so I could take it with me in a purse and just spray the whole night through; got a lot of compliments back then! Now I finished it a while ago, and it’s not avaliable in the drugstore anymore, so I’ll search for a new one somewhere else, maybe in a 30 ml..

Recently I bought a small flacon of this one, not bad, even if at the beginning there is something heavy, heady in it, later it evaporates. Very interesting bottle and name, gives an air of mystery and seduction. Not bad but not the best ever

I bought this at a good price.I have the one pictured above with the atomizer.Only thing about it is not enough comes out when I pump the atomizer.I would say this is a thick fruity smell that I am not crazy about I can’t complain being that it was only 9.99 but I wouldn’t buy this again I will refill the bottle with something else because the bottle is very pretty but it sits crooked and it gets on my nerves!
