This Cherie is a delicious and more full bodied concentration of the first issue (spray bottle) and is definitely an eau de parfum in the biggest sense of the word. I was looking for this rare beauty and was unable to find it anywhere until a Palm Beach neighbor had a rummage sale and there it was! I bought it without hesitation. It’s so perfect for the hot sticky humid summer in Florida. A refreshing fruity floral champagne of a perfume with everything that one likes about a modern Dior fragrance – feminine, sweet, effervescent, and more important long lasting with sillage!
Opens with a sparkling champagne with strawberry in the champagne. Fresh and fruity with a citrus note of mandarin mingling with strawberry foam. Sweet, perhaps too much, especially in this edition, but only the lightest application is necessary for it to do it’s magic. The fruit segues into scents of flowers namely a pink rose, and white heady jasmine, gardenia and tuberose. White flowers all around. The florals are kept at a minimum so that it won’t come through as ‘mature’ perfume with multiple floral notes. It’s neither powdery or heavy with the flowers as in most other women’s floral fragrances. This is a deliberately subtle floral scent but one can definitely pick up on the rose/jasmine combination with a sweet strawberry top.
Finally in the dry down a musk comes through with some green touches of patchouli and sandalwood. It has none of the heavy hitter Oriental notes but it’s responsible for giving this scent longevity. I’m not a big fan of patchouli but the patchouli in both Miss Dior and Miss Dior Cherie is only there to give it a longer life, with a very enticing herbal aroma. This is so lovely. And it’s such a shame this concentration is no longer available. The other versions are alright, but the issue I have with them is they don’t last as long as I like them to. It’s not as bad as Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet which has such a well-known and tragic short life. This is such a happy alternative to that one. Cherie is a sweet and very care-free and leisurely summer time scent. I am wearing it through the rest of the month when I go to the beach or on my cruise jobs.
Thank you Dior.

I am in love. I bought the biggest bottle available in the store once upon a time in Denmark: it was pre-Xmas, and I wanted a fairytale, and here it was, in liquid form, in such a cute bottle and with so much promise! The ultimate Cinderella perfume in my view. Even though I am happily married, when I test it ( again and again ) in local stores it just never fails to uncover some almost childlike anticipations of a heart-skipping romantic encounter in me! Hopefully it is still availabe to me in form of winning a few hearts in a male company and getting that well-known to all of us ladies thrill of a conquest, so that’s the purpose of Cherie to me at this point in life: when I want to go out and sparkle – this is the best thing to put on. Very fresh, with a champagne note, strawberries to go with it, and the quintessence of innocent female charm ( if it ever IS innocent! 🙂 ). Will fork out on a bottle of pure perfume as soon as I get a chance and will keep it for black and white galas and similar occasions that imply grandeur and exquisiteness.

Warm and bright with a nice hint of spice. This is Miss Dior Cherie without all the syrupy sweet notes. I love it! Both versions are beautiful. The Extrait de Parfum is a more refined and adult adaptation. The dry-down is very similar to the original and it’s my favorite of all time – so warm and inviting as it wears on throughout the day. If you find the 2005 version of Miss Dior Cherie to be too sweet, give this a try, it’s gorgeous!

I never thought I would like a sweet scent, But this is my new (this spring ) favorite! I just tried Jil Sandr #4 and I had to wash it off, I couldn’t breath! But this is so good, a woman actually got out of her wheelchair and hobbled over to me to get the name of what I was wearing!
