This is what I wore in high school, with flowy hippie skirts and peasant blouses.
A very uplifting, easy-to-wear scent that is noticeable without being cloying: lasted all day, with a sillage of about an arm’s length (which is all I want in a perfume).
The fruity scents were the first to drop off on my skin, with the florals taking center stage an hour or so in -but the sandalwood kept it rooted. Not too complex, not too fussy: just fresh and pleasant.
I have a bottle with a tiny bit left that is over 10 years old at this point – smells just as I remember with no turning at all. I don’t want to use it, because it’s so nostalgic to me: the smell of high school. But it gives me hope that I could probably track this down on ebay and not get a stale perfume.

Just found a pretty good dupe for MOAG in Pinrose Merry Maker for anyone that has been trying to find a replacement.

Fragrance Review For Memoirs Of A Geisha By Fresh
Notes: Musk Iris Jasmine Sandalwood Bergamot Kumquat Mandarin Orange Rose Peach
I love the book and film adaptation Memoirs of a Geisha and had hoped this would be a good Oriental fragrance. It’s still an Oriental but not hardcore Oriental. The sandalwood note is what gives it it’s Asian features and it’s aromatic body. The sandalwood really did it for me. There is no top middle and base notes and they’re thrown in altogether. The scents that keep popping up: jasmine, iris, rose, flowers at the beginning, flowers on the print of a Geisha’s kimono, feminine, sweet floral scents. Then there are some fruit scents the kumquat but above all the peach stands out. There’s also citrus. The musk and dry down of woods (sandalwood) gives it a maturity and a longevity. This is a floral musk with Oriental and fruity touches. Very easy to wear. Pleasant. It’s not mind blowing but it’s nice. I do feel like a calm and beautiful Geisha wearing this, a girl who wants to find the love of her life. A romantic and feminine classy perfume. Highly recommended if you can find it.

Well now I desperately want this simply because it’s named after one of my favorite books. I see yet another blind buy in my future!

This is a glorious fragrance with an absolutely terrible name. What on earth were they thinking of when they decided to name this after a movie. Oh, that doesn’t date it or anything. This is the most underrated fragrance in the entire Fresh line in my opinion and is underrated in general. Please do not let the cheesy name scare you away from this heavenly Asian fragrance.
The notes listed in the fragrance description are pretty accurate and not misleading in any way. You also get pretty much the same fragrance in the dry down as you do when you spray it, it is fairly constant throughout.
The peach, mandarin and musk are the highlights for me and what seemed to draw me to it. Although there is much more going on than that. Initially I thought of it as a spring/summer fragrance but I honestly feel this can be worn year around because of the touch of sandalwood.
This is an utterly feminine fragrance that will bring you compliments. I can’t think of anything else that smells like this. Unique and beautiful and highly recommended.

I love this! This is the ideal “Asian” scent! It is mysterious, light, clean, citrus, lovely! Too bad it was a limited edition… I hate it when the products I love are no longer available!!

Having bought the 75ml when it first came out, I abandoned it in my closet for the longest time as my interest in perfumes waned. As I’ve become re-interested in perfumery I pulled this, the oldest of my owned scents, out to see if I still liked her and if anything had changed over the years.
First off, luckily Memoirs of a Geisha hasn’t turned in any way, maintaining the same powdery-peachy note I remember from when I wore it constantly. At first spritz the citrus notes are acidic and ashy, but it always does that on my skin. Thankfully that phase is fleeting as the peach and kumquat come roaring to the surface, and the two fruits together somehow smell of yuzu. The combination of iris, sandalwood, and fruits gives the blend an overall powdery-peachiness evocative of a geisha at play at a biwa, but it’s much too strong and cloying as a spray and would’ve been (and was) much better as an actual scented powder. Not for me, and hopefully there are others who love this scent more so I can swap my long-ignored bottle to a loving home.

This originally came in a larger bottle and the perfume was a dark amber, but I have two of the smaller bottles (like pictured above) with clear perfume. I bought it on a summer sale at Bath and Body Works right when the store was being switched over to a flagship store, so everything they used to carry was super cheap. I think I paid $5.99 for each. It is a lovely scent and I wear it mostly during warmer weather. All of the notes seem to be more perfect in summer with slight humidity.

Very light and soft. Soft as musk, light as dew. Very nice, cozy scent. Too bad sillage is not good enough.

Alas that this was a limited edition perfume. I usually do not like fruity perfumes, but this was just delicious — my mouth would water a bit every time I’d apply. Perfect summer fragrance, not too sweet, never cloying, and the citrus notes really lasted – unusual!

Not wise of Fresh to make this in a limited edition. It’s by far their best fragrance. I’ve never had any inclination to buy their other scents. It’s summery, fruity, slightly tropical, like lychee and peach mixed together. The staying power is surprisingly excellent.
