I was so fortunate to win a sample of this scent in a recent giveaway here on Fragrantica. Thank you so much! 🙂
This is by far one of the softest and most understated citrus fragrances I’ve tried. It has a vibe that is an unique combination of casual and elegant.
The scent starts off with a moist and almost cool citrus, tamed by notes that to my nose smells like mineral water and shadowy soil. It feels like sitting on the ground, by the mediterranean sea, early in the morning, pre sunrise, and just taking in all the natural scents around you.
After a while an undercurrent of warmth becomes more prominent. It feels like the sun is finally rising, and giving life to alle the colours of the landscape you are surrounded by, and to all the smells. I think it might be the smoky guaiac wood, that gives this scent that slow, warming feeling.
In the drydown the scent turns into this super smoothe, woody suede that almost has a green tea tinge to it. The initial citrus still whispers in the distance, keeping that soft freshness alive.
Sillage is quite soft all the way through, and longevity is abouth 6-7 hours on my skin.
A very balanced and well mannered citrus, with a refreshing natural vibe. Smells like the first rays of sunlight early in the morning. For me it is a like, but not a love.

If I had to describe this scent in one word it would be: lovely.
I had to agree with zenazur on two points: this smells increadibly natural! Especially the citrusy-leafy part – if you had a chance of smelling a real citron tree, you will recognize it here w/o doubt. Secondly, unfortunately the silage and duration is rather poor… Pity, for all its loveliness I am not 100% convinced I would cash-out for a FB…
Contrary to zenazur I do smell quite a lot of osmanthus and peach here – on my skin it becomes really yummy (and ads up to the loveliness factor)!
All in all: I am very happy for winning Matin d’Azur sample and by now it is almost empty, but I still hesitate on investing in FB.

Pleasant but nothing new under the sun. This is a clean citrus fragrance with a woody drydown. What I like about it is that it smells very natural. The citrus aroma is actually that of “cédrat” (French for a type of lemon that emits a more subtle, leafy aroma), which I am fond of. What I don’t like about “Matin d’Azur” is its abysmal sillage. Plus, I can hardly detect any peach and osmanthus is quite low key…
