More Francois Demachy magick for the budget-conscious man. Rugged coziness with a classic 80’s powerhouse feel, this could very well be a forgotten Azzaro flanker conjured from the abyss. The mintiness lends a sharp bite to the composition that continues to persist with flexible lavender reinforcing the cooling feel. The classically built scent pyramid conveys masculinity of yore in a commanding way. Ridiculously good stuff for the price.

Second day in a row I am wearing Equateur: the heat is unbearable (over 100 F) and Equateur is one of the few perfumes up to the task. The lemon opening is full throttle, but as I love lemon notes, I love it as many won’t huuuge silage for about 15/ 20 minutes. Then it abruptly changes directions and become a lemon/mint somewhat sweet scent, reminiscent of Acqua di Gioia, but gradually it changes course again and incorporates the lavander and sandalwood and becomes sort of a leatherish scent, a soft comfortable semi sweet leather, which is cosy, very sophisticated with soft but identifiable sillage at the same time. It is the best phase, the dry down and the one that lasts and lasts (even in extreme heat Equateur can clock 6 hours and in cooler temps up to 12 hours).

Wonderful perfume for high temperatures, long lasting (7-hours plus in temps over 100 F) with a sof but persistent sillage. Its main notes are lemon, mint, sandalwood and lavender. Opens a bit harsh with a burst of refreshing lemon segues into a minty lemon with touches of lavender and evolves into a lemon/sandalwood drydown that is very elegant, reminiscent of Chance Eau Fraiche (and to me better, since it is creamier and sweeter) and lasts for a long time. Also very inexpensive. Masculin Equateur hails from a time Bourjois had excellent noses, including François Demachy who was reponsible for Masculin Ouragan (a much less interesting scent on me).

Equateur opens very angular and harsch. First comes to mind cheap citric detergent. After a few minutes the scent evolves in a gentler way with mainly lavender and a hint of mint. The best part for me is the end of the trip. Rather woody unisex. Sandalwood and even not listed here i got vetiver as well. Longevity is quite huge on me. Almost the whole day hands down

Equateur is not pretentious. And far from groundbraking. But it’s one of those rare occasions when the quality matches the price. And for so little you get a delicious lemon-mint aroma with a woody backbone. Cheap and proud.

A good citrus/woody smell.

Excellent perfume with a very affordable price. I have used it years ago and I remember it is very uplifting and aromatic. I enjoyed it a lot, especially in the office and during hot summer days. In my country it is still very popular and extremely unexpensive. I find the name very proper although I have never been in the equator area. This is exactly how I imagine it to smell – woods, fruits, citruses, herbs and green plants 🙂

a very pleasant aromatic fougere that is long lasting with great silage and very good price to buy.9/10.

This is truly a memorable fragrance. You would probably need very sophisticated equipment to detect a single natural ingredient in this, but it is vibrant and slightly harsh in an uber-masculine, sexy way. A little goes a long way too, with monster sillage and Jobean longevity. It carves your name with a scalpel on the mind of every person you meet.
I own several expensive and good quality fragrances. None of them has fetched me more comments than this. Strange…
PS: I own a bottle from the 90s. I suspect it has changed a bit in the recent years
