Description
Maria Amalia by Morris Italy Perfume. Maria Amalia by Morris Italy has a sensuous base of myrrh, incense, patchouli and rosewood. Its middle notes are earthy nutmeg, cinnamon and rose. Cardamom, ginger root and lemon peel top off this daring and romantic scent that is truly fit for royalty.
This scent is named after Maria Amalia, Archduchess of Austria by birth and Duchess of Parma by marriage during the late 1700s. She was a fair-skinned, blue-eyed beauty with long, wavy red hair. After being forced to marry the Duke of Parma, her wild and rebellious nature became legendary. She was deeply romantic and shared passionate encounters with the handsome young guards with which she surrounded herself.
This fragrance was created by Morris Porfumi company, which was started by the Borri family in Italy in 1945. Befitting its history, the fragrance is contained within a beautifully layered glass bottle with a tiered glass top that is reminiscent of crystal. One can imagine such a bottle adorning the dressing tables of the strong, feminine royalty that inspired it.
Maria Amalia was launched in 2006.
