Description

Manifesto is a new women’s perfume from Yves Saint Laurent, coming out on the market in late August 2012. The perfume is described as spontaneous, free spirited and courageous; a scent full of passion and emotion.

The face of the perfume is actress Jessica Chastain, who declared: “Yves Saint Laurent is a brand that inspires me deeply. Since its creation, the brand has conveyed strong values that I cherish, such as unwavering commitment, absolute love and feminine audacity. The new fragrance is an emblem of it all.”

The composition is developed by Anne Flipo and Loc Dong. It starts off with fresh green wave, bergamot and black currant. The heart includes accords of white flowers such as Sambac jasmine and lily of the valley. The base is woody and slightly oriental and captures notes of cedar, sandalwood, vanilla and tonka bean.

The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum.

I agree with some of the comments here saying that this perfume starts off really good but after a couple of hours it starts to smell like some cheap supermarket perfume. I almost bought this perfume right after I smelled it but luckily decided to wait it out.
    Definitely not worth my money!

I stumbled into a Sephora like store when in Lisbon and sprayed on Manifesto le Parfum and loved how rich, warm and vanilla it smelled and def unisex in nature. My traveling buddies were complimenting me all night as we hit the town. I’ve been looking for it upon my return to the US and found it hard to find and quite pricey. Low and behold, I found the EDP on eBay for a reasonable enough price and got it thinking it would be close enough to le Parfum. Not even close. I find the EDP medicinal, cold and a little off putting. Maybe it the coldish bergamot and green notes working against the warmer vanilla and tonka notes, but it’s kind of a mess. Maybe the price difference is in place for a reason. Thumbs down on the EDP

Very powdery. I could hardly remember it. I almost always love fragrances by YSL, but this one is not impressive.

I can’t believe this perfume has been discontinued but it is an all time favourite of my husband. He loves it so much every time I wear it.
Such a lovely perfume and almost reminds me of the casino scent, don’t know why

    THE ORIGINAL 2012 – MANIFESTO – DISCONTINUED ????
I checked many web sites, Nordstrom, Sephora, etc…
They do not sell it – if they ever did – they do not sell it anymore.
Macy’s USA web site says that it currently unavailable, etc…
Here in Canada, The Bay (Hudson’s Bay) only sells 50ml size.
The official YSL site still sell it, but then why not the big store chains anymore?
I knew the oh-so – expensive Manifesto Elixir (which has only been made in 50ml size) had been discontinued many months ago, but the original too?
I have smelled l’Éclat – hate it, but LOVED the original Manifesto, even had 2 100ml bottles in my life…..
On me, Boucheron’s Place Vendôme smells 95% identical to the original (2012) Manifesto, only missing a hint of the vanilla that Manifesto has.
At a much more affordable price than Manifesto.
In my book, whenever a fragrance is being discontinued, places that still carry them should lower the prices of the bottles that they still have in stock !
I do not like to buy discontinued fragrances, you never know for how long sellers have had them in stock, and the scent could change, if not the color too.
    No thanks.
    Missing my original Manifesto.
    Sylvie in Québec (Canada).
NOTE: I have sent an e-mail to YSL to see if the 2012 original Manifesto is really discontinued. I hope that they will reply to me.

I just found this amazing fragrance in Spain. It has staying power and amazing flowery smell.

Zulily actually has this fragrance on sale. It seems like they bring around some of the retired scents often.

Quite beautiful light perfume. Fruity spray.
Like Forbidden Rose: Fruity fine light perfume, that causes later an impression of flour/ dryness. May be some citrus-thing. Tested a few times, and finally noticed this feature very clearly. It’s uncomfortable, when apply plenty of it.
(Could be compared also with Pour Femme, Sexy Amber, Gold Couture.)

It’s a lovely scent that was initially much too indolic for me. After waiting it out, down my shirt, its not-too-sweet vanilla haven! Jasmine and amber are so delicious together

I tried it in the duty free, and it smelled great initially but with an iffy note. I thought, maybe it wasn’t stored properly or something. So, I decided to get it from a reputable store, so I wouldn’t get ripped off.
It started rather good, a bit sweet, vanilla, oriental, with a hint of something ominous. After a little while, it turns eventually into an extremely obnoxious scent, like a cheap knockoff perfume or a product used to unclog the drains, or a pesticide. Yes, it left an “aftertaste” of a pesticide so to speak.
It reminds me so much of Dolce and Gabbana’s Pour Femme, except Manifesto has this nauseating base note that gives me a nasty headache.

I expected to be impressed by this, but I’m not. On me it smells ordinary and has a basic, plain feel to it. Tried to like this on t least three occasions and no I’m not keen to buy. If you enjoy this fragrance then I’m happy for you

To me this is a little sweet, vanilla, slightly gourmand. Especially great for colder weather, but of course, wear what you want, when you want. Classy looking bottle. Not quite the heavy hitter I kind of expected with this. But then I only do a couple quick spritzes, and not up close. I am suprised to see white florals listed in the notes, I do not pick up any white floral here. Vanilla, black currant, and I actually pick up a little patchouli and musk. *shrug*
Moderate sillage for me, and lasts all day. I would say this is a fairly ‘safe’ fragrance, good for gifting. But as with any perfume, it is all subject to personal opinion, preference, skin and noses. This is nice, but it is very ‘familiar’ to me. So, the scent itself is not original, at least not to my nose. But still lovely. Sort of a “cozy” scent. Nice, if not terribly original.

Okay, out of confusion because others keep saying it’s still available in their country, I contacted YSL via the yslbeautyus.com site and I got the same response I got last time. They’re sorry to say it’s discontinued and that they have no suggestions for replacements at this current time. The first email I sent I asked if it was discontinued, the followup email I sent asking if it was only discontinued in the US and I received the same reply to both. So, I went to the website and double checked. It is still gone from the US version of the YSL beauty website. But there’s a way to change countries at the top of the page, and I tried UK, France, Spain, Chile, and Australia and all of those countries (there are more countries but I didn’t check every website), had Manifesto still for sale. So either this is solely discontinued in the US, or perhaps it will be eventually discontinued internationally at some later date. I can’t get any clarification from YSL Beauty on this. I see it’s still available on a lot of websites in the US, but if you do a Google search, it’s not available at any department store that I can see. It seems to only be available at like Overstock, Walmart, Fragrancenet, etc… I only posted on here that it was discontinued because it’s one of my favorites (though it’s not my signature) and I know how frustrating it can be to find out late that a fragrance is discontinued because you end up being left with marked up bottles on eBay that cost 3 and 4x as much as the perfume cost initially. I’m glad it’s still available via the website and department stores in other countries. Hopefully, they don’t discontinue it elsewhere.

I really like YSL perfumes and so when I saw this one, I had to test spray it. And good thing I did.
Very strong and sickly sweet. Vanilla, berry concoction that unfortunately lasts for a long time.
I can see it being worn at night and probably in the fall, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
For the money, one may as well get 2 of the sweet smelling perfumes from Juicy Couture line.

Uww. It’s ruddy scent of mystery and elegant!
    I don’t think that I’ll get bored.
    Floral / Sweet / Powdery / Woody.. everything…
    Everything could smell so beautiful.
    I’ve been fascinated!
    Sillage and longevity: very good
    Bottle= 9/10
    scent= 9.5 / 10
    Longevity= 9 /10

I don’t know if this fragrance is indeed discontinued but I saw a lot of them today for sale at the duty-free stores along the California border. All the YSL perfumes were there: Babyoll, Paris, Mon Paris and Manifesto. Look online for duty-free stores near you if you’re looking to buy one.

I live in the US and I was on the YSL for North America/US, so maybe it’s still available in Europe. I don’t know.

The issue with L’Oreal and how they operate; sell what’s new. They don’t grow brands like other companies, except for Flowerbomb, Acqua Di Gio and Armani Code. Everything else is left to sink or swim on its own after a year. Manifesto is a culprit of this. People still look for it, but once Black Opium and Si came on to the scene, everyone was pushed to buy those two instead. It was such a huge fragrance, but the direction of the vendor killed this fragrance. You can still get this in Europe for now.

Yes, it’s unique,,, yes, it’s a lovely woody-vanilla mix, but it get me bored so quickly!

  29. :

This is really nice, a warm, salty, sweet creamy perfume, but it doesn’t have much of a sillage. Its a great perfume for close encounter or even office wear, as it’s comforting, sensual without being overt. And it’s not loud,
    It hints, it doesn’t shout.

  30. :

    4 out of 5

To me Manifesto smells like berries with a touch of sweet flowers, but without being sugary. I love black currant in it. It’s a great winter scent. I first got a tester in summer and didn’t quite like it: it turns too heavy and sickly in hot weather. But then I tried it again in winter – and had to get a bottle of it, it’s so comforting when it’s cold outside. It also smells fresher in cold weather.
UPD. I tried all the perfumes in the Manifesto line, and the classic Manifesto is my favourite. In the other ones, the vanilla is a bit too prominent on me. Le Parum is the sweetest of all to me. The classic Manifesto is sourer, like sweet/sour berries. I am growing more and more fond of it with time. My second favourite one at the moment is L’Eclat. But the whole line is similar and very pretty.
As for the longevity, I find that it disappears quicker from my wrists and the best way to wear is is to spray my hair, the back of my neck or my body. If I move and my skin gets warmer, I get another blast of Manifesto even hours later when I thought it disappeared completely.

Cheaper alternative : New look touch
    Very similar indeed.
However, originals are usually better than dupes!

I absoulutely agree with you soccorosouza, Manifesto is a much better perfume than Girl of now. A person i know wore Girl of now and on her it smelled delicious but on my skin Manifesto smells the way i wanted Girl of now to smell. I just think it smells similar but Manifesto is a better alternativ.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

I find Manifesto a much more well balanced and well thought aroma with more depth and an exquisite tonka/cassis accord. On my skin Manifesto lasts for 6 hours or more with moderate sillage, and is one of my most beloved scents.
Girl of Now on my skin is very derivative .At first it is a bit like a generic girly Hypnotic Poison without all the depth that made HP a great scent, but then worsens to a sort z-celebrity scent, indistinguishable from hundreds of other perfumes. Its only grace is a 8-hour plus longevity, but as the aroma on my skin is so underwhelming, even this is annoying.

  34. :

Elie Saab Girl of now smells very similar to this in my opinion.

  35. :

    5 out of 5

Manifesto is a pretty and grown-up smelling floral vanilla, very much office-appropriate. The black currant is brighter than I expected. I think “Manifesto” is a bit of a misnomer, as I don’t find this scent to make much of a statement, though it is a very nice and classy smelling perfume. In fact, it’s actually a good metaphor for a politician, because it seems to aspire to be a vanilla that works for everyone. That’s the impression I get from it, anyway. I bought it, blind of course, in my current vanilla craze but it doesn’t scratch that itch for me. I’m happy to have my 30ml in my collection nonetheless.

  36. :

    5 out of 5

I normally don’t care for woody fragrances, but the vanilla and tonka bean is what makes Manifesto a sexy feminine fragrance! Very wearable and almost spicy.

  37. :

    5 out of 5

Based upon the notes I would expect this to be quite a sweet scent, but the vanilla and black currant are definitely overpowered in the best way by the green and woody notes. It gives the whole fragrance a powdery, very elegant feel. “Sophisticated” is the first word I thought of when I sprayed this on my skin. Quite buttoned-up and prim.
Not too bold, but not too shy.
Overall, I would consider this a very reliable, everyday, all-occasion scent.

  38. :

    4 out of 5

On me just woody and nothing else, very masculine of the blow.

  39. :

    5 out of 5

Manifesto is sweet vanilla, a little Flowerbomb a little Disney.
It is sugary to Angel maltetto, not indicated but present.
Gourmand to the well-known currant, sandalwood wooded with cedar
nowadays omnipresent because easy and economical.
    Sampaquita.
Pretty bottle, a little Youth Dew, strangled.
    Good time.
It hurts to think that old Yves is no longer with us.

For me this is all about the green notes and slight black currant leaf so good and addictive. I love the YSL signature classy fruit, green lushness, and light powdery vanilla of this and 2014 Addict, so classy!

  41. :

My sister owns it and I find it really nice but not so unique. A super safe, grown up vanilla, office friendly scent. It’s sweet but not juvenile, pretty warm too.
A shy woman would enjoy this in my opinion.
    Love the bottle!

  42. :

    5 out of 5

    LOVE ❤️
Citrus at the begging then next a grow up vanilla but not too sweet. It has a good silage for me, but not overwhelming . And last 4 to 6 hrs on skin and till night in clothes.
For me this is an adult vanilla, a gourmand, Cozy, confortable . It’s elegante, and nice for work.
I have a dry skin, even if I use body lotion at morning, my skin eats perfumes ( think in me longevity is obtained with alien edt or jungle jajaja)
This is for winter, fall , even spring, that’s why I’m thinking of buying L’Eclat.
In my skin it has nothing to do with Si or Black Opium ( I like them both too) those are much stronger and have other notes or Fantasy that for me is sweeter and lack a bit of depth. M is as mostly vanilla with something a bit bitter, haba tonka, with black currant?
Good day for everyone perfume mates

  43. :

    3 out of 5

At first I found it interesting but after a while is very annoying, smells pretty synthetic as well and doesn’t really stand out from all the fragrances out there.

  44. :

    4 out of 5

I find this boring because it’s like vanilla fields with some flowers mixed in. It’s not bad. The name strikes me as silly…. Man: “what perfume is that?” Woman: “why, it’s called manifesto!” I mean really I would probably feel less silly telling someone it was a Britney Spears perfume and that says something right there. Silly names aside, this is OK. But not really worth the money as you could get something cheaper at the drugstore that smells almost the same.

  45. :

    3 out of 5

On me, the vanilla doesn’t come out all that much. It stays lingering at the back as background noise..yet very comfortably without causing anyone any trouble. On my skin this perfume throughout its wear time stays true to the fragrance pyramid. The black currant is the loudest note and its a sour tangy black currant. Then I smell jasmine..however its kind of metallic. Not a true jasmine as in the case of Bvlgari Jasmin Noir or Thierry Mugler Alien. Then comes the vanilla. This isnt a vanilla like in Lancome La Vie Est Belle..this is more subdued.. I like it but, I prefer Lancome. My body chemistry has not found its chi with this perfume yet coz everytime I spray this on just my clothes and not my skin, the notes seem well rounded and nicely blended. Doesnt work for me the way I hoped.. Black Opium is my favourite vanilla so far.

  46. :

    5 out of 5

This is unapologetically femme and is exactly what it meant to be.
It is another sweet and vanilla scent but there is a strength and power to this one. The citrus and the nutty tonka maybe. I don’t know why but if you’re a fan of sweet designer fragrances it’s worth a sniff.
This starts very citrus with a bit of green and current and then the jasmine takes hold. The vanilla slowly merges with the jasmine and form a nice floral vanilla. After awhile I start to notice powdery sandalwood more.

  47. :

    3 out of 5

It is a sweet fruity floral of black currant, tonka and vanilla. Very dark kind of sweet or cloyingly sweet like melted brown sugar on a hot humid weather. I like it but I do have other sweet perfumes that is better than this… now I kind of regret why I bought this perfume. Probably because of Jeremy Fragrance convinced me with his dazzling talk. 😀

  48. :

    4 out of 5

Smelled it a few times, in store, before committing to a purchase. I bought a 30ml and it’s lasted me a long time as it’s the type of perfume you only need 1 or 2 spritzes of. It’s a good option for winter time and evenings as it would be too overwhelming on a hot day. It’s a scent I would imagine on a woman in her late 20’s as it isn’t too youthful but it still seems young. It was a good compliment on nights when I wore jeans and a leather jacket with blingy jewelry. I always got compliments about smelling good when people hugged me. I’m not sure if I’ll buy it again because I ended up growing tired of it by the time the bottle got to the bottom.

I gave this a go when I found a sample in my big box of decants and sample vials. I instantly thought “ok I own this” but I don’t. So I went crazy going through everything I owned until I found the smell alike culprit. What I DO own that smells so close you wouldn’t believe it is Jeanne Arthes Capricieuse. Look at the notes and compare, it’s a dead ringer guys. And I really love it, it just smells soooo good. The black current, praline, lily, tonka… such a strange assortment of notes that all combined create this unmistakable YUM. The silage is the same for both, decent not great, I’ll update on longevity later.

  50. :

I blindly bought it and I am so angry at myself because I can’t stand the smell of this one. It makes me nauseous. It’s sweet (I love sweet scents) however It has an artificial smell which I can’t really describe and I hate it. It was a waste of money for me unfortunately

  51. :

I got a sample in the cold April of 2013 and in May I bought a whole 30ml edp that much i loved it.
Beautiful, green notes I do not sense at all, this is a balsamic, creamy vanilla with tonka bean.
Also in the background jasmine, sandalwood, black currants. Ideal daily scent when we do not want to overturn noses.
Bottle is beauty it has the effect of luxury.
    Like jewelry.
The price is not small, but I find that to be acceptable, durable perfume.
There are opinions that this perfume is discovering and knocking to some already existing perfumes.
Well, try ladies, in the end the vanilla exists in the world not from today, do not give your opinion hastily.
I had 15ml Vanilla Fields Coty 3 years ago and there was vanilla poison. Too strong, indigestible, too big a field of suffocating vanilla. This vanilla is combined with tonka and lily. It is a discrete perfume.

  52. :

    5 out of 5

A very green, fresh, pleasant opening, not the juiciest black currant and a moderately sweet bergamot. A vanillic hue starts developing, tempered by the green notes. You later have a fluffy haze above the revealed notes: tonka. To me personally tonka is way too prevalent, way too neutralizing, to the point that you can’t have the blast of vanilla you came for.
Because admit it. You came for the vanilla. Hoping that maybe this will be a different vanilla to wear than Si Armani and LVEB Lancome that all women wear but you want a vanilla, because it’s in fashion, you love sweet, but you don’t want the exactly same thing, blah blah blah… And you have a point! Truly. But Manifesto is not what we expected it to be.
Personally I came for the balsamic claim. It’s not balsamic, let’s be real, but it is a soft, balmy-type scent. Like Allure EDP Chanel. And in fact, it seems that the “chanel vanilla” jumped into Manifesto juice. A well behaved, non super-sweet, tamed and powdery vanilla drydown.
A good blend, a polite scent, proportionate, inoffensive, can’t imagine someone not liking it. Has a sufficient longevity for an EDP, but the sillage is low, you kinda have to bring the wrist to your nose, it doesn’t waft with your moves.
The woody claim is false; maybe yes, there is some santal in the development, but not enough to call it a woody scent. Maybe my nose does not pick up the woody notes. It’s not totally bad or totally good either, it’s an okay perfume.

If you like Place Vendome by Boucheron, you will like Manifesto. To me they are 80% the same. I was very surprised. I have both. Place Vendome is like Manifesto+some Saharienne by YSL.

  54. :

    4 out of 5

The powdery vanilla of this reminds me so much of Chanel Allure. It doesn’t have the intense floral aspect of Allure, so it’s not a twin. Maybe a cousin.
It has that “expensive cosmetics” scent that I also get when I wear Allure. More of a dry vanilla rather than a sweetened vanilla.

  55. :

    3 out of 5

I really need to explore YSL more. First I get constant complements with noble leather and then this solid vanilla crosses my path.
When I spray it I do get a little current, but mostly I get vanilla and jasmine that builds to a powdery nutty vanilla. This, and other YSL scents feel very classic to me and sometimes that means too much different scents getting all muddy and perfumey but this one is different. Its like a stripped down version that has classic style and simplicity.I dont use the word elegant often but YSL seems to do elegant well.
Sadly, this was a quick test before going to the pool so I cant say anything about longevity today.

This is a sweet and stunning “in your face” scent in the best of ways. Beautiful purple bottle that seems to fit this stunning scent. I see a 1940s siren with elbow-length gloves wearing this one. Luscious and classy.

  57. :

The jasmine sambac adds a sharp, sweet, rotting smell into the mix. It’s very similar to D&G The One. I don’t like it at all but people who enjoy strong, sharp, sweet perfumes (like Amarige) will likely love this.
The opening is lovely and I can feel the black currant, citrus, and green notes. But after that, the sharp indolic smell lands. The perfume evolves very clearly during its life. The opening notes last for about 3 minutes, and then the middle notes will smell for almost 2 hours. The jasmine sambac will persist to the very end. Above average sillage and longevity.

  58. :

I have fallen in love with this perfume once more. It is so true that it changes with the seasons, like someone else has mentioned. Right now where I live it is still really cold outside! But the last few days the weather has been so sunny and clear! This really changes the perfume and now I get a really warm and comforting vanilla but also a green and berry note that makes this perfume so much more interesting! It is like a sophisticated varm scent with a hint of vanilla but just as much green notes. the vanilla is very nicely balanced in this perfume! Black currant can sometimes smell a bit sharp and bitter but the vanilla is making this scent rounder, and vanilla scents can sometimes be boring and overwhelming but the green notes makes this scent more interesting, a little bit fresher, more elegant and not sickening. Its a really nice perfume if you want a soft vanilla with some fruity fresh, berry tartness. Softer then la vie est belle and Si, more elegant and interesting than black opium.

This is unique! Very powdery and strong vanilla but not in a sweet way! It does not remind me of Britney Spears Fantasy at all like others have mentioned ( that one is more like vanilla cupcakes and white chocolate).
This is a cold weather scent, it just wraps you up in its luxuriousness. I really love it and is a special addition to my perfume collection !!

Another vanilla love for me. Being sorrounded by girls/women who hate sweet vanilla scents I always had to watch out from spraying these “dangerous” perfumes in the perfume shops or the ‘What is this overly sweet perfume ?’ lamentations would start. I was forced to hate vanilla but the truth is this is one of the notes I adore and appreciate the most in a perfume especially when is nicely done like in this one. And it was only this last summer, when I was alone in the store that I courageously grabbed this perfume and finally smelled it the right way, in its full body as a perfume has to be lived. Guess what ? I loved it from the very first spritz. This is the kind of vanilla I want in a perfume. The kind where vanilla is there but still there isn’t as much to consider it a completely and ultimately vanilla perfume. The kind of vanilla but yet non vanilla scent where other non prominent notes like the greener ones make their appearance in the scene in secondary roles but are always there, always present to support the leading actor. They are silent but you can hear them anyway. They are present in their own unique way.
This perfume has made me think a lot and I love when perfumes do that. It means they were able to state themselves and leave an impression to you and penetrate your soul. Well I think this the right perfume for women that are in career, that have a leading role in their jobs, that wear White shirts with black pencil skirts and black stilettos. This perfume makes me think of black and White which are my two favourite colours as well. And one day I hope to have all this big dream and to break through the jungle, adult world in my Manifesto, mysterious and confident just like the perfume. By the way Manifesto is also pretty suitable for the job interview that will lead to that job and the accomplishment of a longtime dream.

On MY skin Manifesto is much closer to Si than Fantasy (and I like all 3 perfumes and own all of them too). In fact Manifesto’s longevity on my skin is a bit longer than Si with heavier sillage (both on the moderate spectrum, Manifesto moderate plus, Si just moderate). Manifesto and Si on me have kind of a smoked sweetness, although Manifesto has more of a tonka sweetness on me. Fantasy is much more of a gourmand with cupcake, white chocolate and fruit (especially lychee) notes.
All 3 of them are exquisite, delicious perfumes.

First i want to say sorry for those people that love this one but for me, manifesto could be a summer version of britney spears fantasy. I dont see the resemblance to Armani Sì as some of the reviews. Maybe you can choose to buy black opium rather than this one or get any of the fantasy line since you can save more and get better sillage and longevity.

Very pleasant Parfum, Intense to begin with but fades nicely over a couple of hours.
Wears nicely on those between 20-50 who like mature woody/vanilla scents.

I know Manifesto has been accused of being uninteresting, too sweet, “boring, glorified vanilla ” etc… but I’m going to have to root for the underdog on this one! In fact, I wear it more than any other fragrance in my sizable collection right now. I just can’t get enough! It smells so good. Very well balanced, classy, in-offensive (yet still projects and entices), & draws compliments . It is such a great fragrance. Silage is good but not monstrous, longevity is out of this world. It’s still on my jacket from 3 days ago! Don’t let the naysayers stop you from giving it a try. I avoided it for a long time because of poor reviews. Ironically, it’s now closer to my signature scent than anything else currently circulating my rotation of use in my collection.
In my opinion, This fragrance is actually pretty hard to beat! Men go absolutely Gaga for it, a couple squirts last ALL day, and it’s just so beautiful & feminine on me. I was so shocked to see the reviewers saying it goes masculine on them! It must be a chemistry thing because this doesn’t even have a hint of masculinity at any point on me! If you like Oriental vanillas, this needs to be on your test list for sure! If you’re worried about the price, don’t be! You can find authentic 3.4 tester bottles with the cap for 50$ or under! I have 2 unopened bottles stashed because I was fearful of ever running out. lol but truth be told, it’ll take me forever to use them because it lasts so long you never need to reapply! I wear it 3 times a week and have only used a quarter of the bottle I bought 10 mos ago!

    Powdery vanilla.
Agree with a previous reviewer that Manifesto could easily be a sister to Chanel Allure. It has the same quiet, warm sophistication.
However, the LOTV note combined with the cedar gives a bit of unpleasantness when combined with my personal body chemistry which adds a hint of discord to this otherwise nicely blended fragrance. It’s not a deal-breaker, and I will continue to wear the bottle that I bought for a discount at the company store, but I doubt I will repurchase or replace if I do finish the bottle.
If you like fragrances like Armani Si, Chanel Allure, do try Manifesto. It is pretty, mature, and nice for the fall/winter.

Thanks to woody and green notes the vanilla doesn’t get cloying, although it’s quite heavy. Manifesto will make a perfect blanket to wrap yourself around during fall and winter time. It’s deep, warm, sensual and comforting.

Manifesto EDP has been on my blind buying radar for awhile now. Super sweet, spicy, goumands are my thing. I finally got a 1.7oz bottle for a good price on ebay and snatched it.
Well…. I like this. Girlie and sweet but… I’ve smelled this before. Jeanne Arthes Capricieuse- which I’ve had for years.
Manifesto is better, deeper, more lasting… but for me, this time… I’ll take the Jeanne.

Gorgeous. I cant’t get enough of it. I tried all of them: the Elixir, Le parfum, L’Eclat and I think, actually, this is the best. I find l’Eclat to be less sweet and less “vaniillic”, l’Elixir a bit sweeter and stronger and le Parfum has a note that I dislike. This one is discrete vanilla, fresh and clean. It’s subtle, elegant, feminine, probably one of the best vanilla fragrances out there. No other fragrance smells like that. VERY UNIQUE 🙂

It actually has a bit of a Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme vibe. It has the same sweet powdery feel. Like Pour Femme mixed with quite a bit of lemon. I still prefer Pour Femme, but I find this more safe for work or everyday wear. With Pour Femme, you might not be taken seriously.

I was really unsure about this one, so few vanillas appeal to me (they’re just too vanilla, you know?) When I initially sprayed it, I wasn’t impressed but I didn’t hate it either so I brought the test strip home with me and I just can’t stop smelling it. I may need to buy a sample of this one and give it a real try. 🙂
