I have a soft spot for Mandarin Orchid. Before I could afford the likes of Chanel and YSL, Mandarin Orange was one of my favourites because it’s just so safe. It’s fresh enough to be worn on a hot day and it’s still good in colder weather.
Mandarin Orchid is sweet-sour, fruity smell. I love it–the balance is just beautiful and it’s sweet but strangely it doesn’t become cloying in hot weather (something that way too many perfumes do, sadly…even the great Manifesto L’Eclat from YSL does it and I hate it). Sillage and longevity is kinda poor, but it’s just nice in hot sunny weather. It opens with a rather synthetic and ethanolic note, but it quickly gives way to the sweetly refreshing orange. Dry-down smells like sweet orange candy, which is strangely good.
Overall, I love this perfume and I have a soft spot for it. I can’t find it in stores now so I’m saving myself the little amount I have left. Definitely on my repurchase list…it’s so versatile and the small bottle is just too convenient to bring along everywhere.

This fragrance does what linen clothes do in the summer – when it’s hot Mandarin Orchid feels refreshing but when it’s chilly the aroma feels warming. I have no problems to use it all year through as it is very light but with enough elegance. It also is clean and crisp as linen, and although there is definitely an orange note it feels rather fruity floral than citrus fragrance – very juicy and with fruity sweetness. Light touch of vibrant wood and ginger give enough base for aroma and I guess that’s what gives touch of elegance.
Mandarin Orchid lacks strong staying power and have light sillage (but enough to detect it by myself and even to get some compliments). It changes almost the same on clothes as on the skin, so it’s not a problem to spritz it on clothes to get staying power around six or even more hours.

love love love it. but yeah, it has poor lasting power. the smell is very fresh and perfect for tired hot morning day. i’m so addicted to it..

Due to its weak lasting power, I used it as a body splash two summers ago.
It was a delicios zesty-fruity scent, uplifting, optimistic and with touch of elegance. Good one!

i really like this mandarin orchid. it has warm scent yet refreshing.. the musk scent mixed with the floral n fruity scent is just so nice.. it is just not long-lasting..maybe that’s why body shop discontinue it

Mandarin Orchid is a yummy, fruity fragrance with a small price tag.
I used the EdT and the body splash all the time last summer.
The fragrance centres around a juicy and sunny mandarin with a soft floral accord and warm mahagoni-wood.
Mandarin Orchid is not a sugarbomb, but fruity and sweet and perfect for warm summer weather.
Longevity is definitely an issue with TBS fragrances but Mandarin Orchid is very inexpensive and each spray puts me in a good mood. 🙂

love it so muchhh! it’s so juicy..
i love to wear it on summer, but my bottle is almost finishing… please body shop, make it come back!
p.s. it’s not a floral, it’s floral fruity gourmand!

i really wish TBS would bring this back! I used a whole bottle of this, and would love to have another…Its such a bright a shiny smell. Very sunny. You have to smell it to understand because it neither smells like orchids nor mandarin, funny 🙂

This is the kind of perfume I would imagine smelling from teenage girls on summer holiday. It gives the impression of fresh, sporty, yet feminine.
Honestly, I am not expecting citrussy fragrances like this one to last long either on my skin or paper, so i tried it on the latter.
Starting with fresh yuzu/tangerine, not very sharp, but still, rather sharp. after a while, the sharpness is gone, but the citrussy smell is still there, now accompanied with soft soft flower, but i coulnd not find the lily. And then i left the paper on my desk and forgot about it…until the next day i work on my desk again. to my surprise, it lasts the whole night! This time, it is not citrussy anymore, but just lovely soft flowers.
Will definitely try it on my skin when i got the chance to visit the shop 🙂

Its aroma is sooo nice but unfortunately it goes away from your skin, like the other perfume i used “Cassis Rose”. They are not long lasting. The Body Shop should make better perfumes.

it is my first citrus fragrance and i found it is a fragrance which can energize me during the summer. however, like guest_poshywoo said, it doesnt have any last power! it disappears soon after i sprayed on it….like her, luckily, i bought it on sale when i travelled aboard

I have tried it today and it’s lovely. Very fresh, kind of typical for TBS fragrances. What is great for me that for once gigner did not spoil the fragrance for me. I cant stand it usually, here you almost dont feel it.

I’ve been recently pretty much into citrusy fragrances, they are an excellent source of energy and good mood. So I was keen to test this new TBS range; it’s a soft and subtle orangey one with loads of happy vibes and summery feelings. I could detect only a hint of flowery notes that lingered somehow hidden in the composition, intertwined with dominant tangerine and orange. Unfortunately it didn’t last very long when I tried it, the scent disappeared before it reached its maturity (i.e. middle and base notes). That quality made me not to purchase it as I don’t want to spend money on a fragrance that vanishes in the air in a matter of minutes!

mmmmm, yum! I had to have this on first sniff. It’s a light citrus. I smell mostly mandarins and tangerine. It’s very soft though and doesn’t last as long as I would like. I don’t even think layering would help. But I love having it for short fresh bursts of citrus. The SA said it smelled like Happy, but it’s much lighter and not as floral imo. I’m so covered up being winter time, maybe in the warmer months this will stick around. Fingers crossed!
