Fluffy, somewhat sweet, reminiscent of melted ice cream. Would probably go over a storm at a DDLG convention, but given that I am on the MDLB side of the spectrum, it’s not for me. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, good.

ETA: I take it back. I get why people think it smells similar. There is a resemblance. It must have been the first several sprays that were off. It smells nothing like Meow.
Purchased this to see if it actually smells similar to CSP Vanille Abricot .
It absolutely does not. At least the bottle I received does not.
What it /does/ smell extremely similar to, is KP’s Meow. Which I also do not like at all.

Simple, straightforward and yummy. It really does smell like vanilla milkshake! Lasting power is about 3-5 hours, but you can definitely smell it on you while it’s there! A cheap thrill that brings a smile to my face 🙂

I bought this as I saw a new review notification pop up and I love creamy vanilla smells. The fact it is marketed at people who could be young enough to be my grand children really does not phase me.
It’s fun and sweet and it does not last more than a minute on me sadly. I am therefore going to use it in the car as an air freshner. That is in no way disrespectful to the fragrance. Fragrance is an art to me and I love art. I can not have paintings in my car but I can enjoy art for the nose and Bons Bons is set at a price where I can afford to keep using it.

Very nice VANILLA. no milk, just lovely vanilla, much better then TBShop’s and lasting, i’m really enjoying it and get more then 6-8h from it, this morning i woke up and faintly still smelled it. Wish has a milk note, this one not, but pure and original vanilla. Love their kinky bottles too, specially this one, with blue clouds :)))

Very simple fun en sweet scent that indeed smells like sweet milk. In my opinion it’s definitely worth its price.

Why is vanilla not listed in the notes??? This is a very very French Vanilla milkshake smell. The vanilla is cold but not shrill. It very much reminds me of VS Vanilla Lace or Body Fantasies Vanilla (both are a teency bit warmer and teency bit more expensive smelling.)
I had the opportunity to purchase this today but I already have Body Fantasies Vanilla so there is no point.
For those of you looking for a vanilla ice cream/milkshake smell and don’t have this drugstore brand available in your country, you seriously are not missing out, all the fragrances are very basic and suitable both for serious adults as well as to be little kid toys. I just put this here because I was really upset about this not being available in my country because I built it up so much in my head as the ultimate vanilla milkshake scent when it’s basically any cheapie vanilla. Same goes for all the other 5 Malizias I smelled today. Now I can finally cross them off the ‘to smell’ list.

Such a lovely sweet, gentle, sexy smell. Not overbearing, not overly foody or sugary – just perfect. Lasts long on me.

  9. :

This smells of a mixture of vanilla and soap?! It’s kind of like a vanilla flavoured washing powder. It is a quite odd… I was hoping for a creamier sort of smell. And it gives me a headache :s It was so cheap though, I’m not too disappointed.

  10. :

I remember when I blind bought this and other Malizia Bonbons as a teen, there was a bit of a hype about Milk Shake. Weirdly, I liked it less than Cotton Flower and Sugar Baby and immediately sold it.
On my skin it didn’t smell like a delicious milk shake, but kind of off. Not like very fresh milk straigt out the fridge, but like milk that’s on the verge of spoiling or warm and a bit burnt. Well, at least there was some vanilla and sugar added.
This is so cheap that I wouldn’t warn against a blind buy, but don’t get your hopes up too high if you don’t already have positive experience with milk notes on your skin, they can be tricky.

Milk Shake and Cocco Shock (Limited Edition) are the best from Malizia, very yummy. Cocco Shock is an amazing tasty coconut scent no where to be found nowadays

  12. :

Erm, although it says so in the brand description, Malizia Bon Bons is *not* a new brand – these little cuties have been around for almost 20 years, maybe even more; and they have released at least 10 other products that are not listed here on Fragrantica. Anyways, these are inexpensive and colourful scents, ideal as presents for very young girls who have never worn perfume before. Most grown-ups will find them quite synthetic and obtrusive, but kids love them!

Omg! I remember this from when i was a teen it was part of my daily makeup school routine spraying this on. It smells sweet and comfy maybe a little intoxicating and it has a simple sweet and yumy delightful smell.
I had this on almost daily. it can make a fine layering scent as well.

  14. :

I wish I could love this, cause Malizia milk shake has notes I like, but…
The smell is weird in the beginning, then sugar and some milk. I find it cheap smelling and can ‘t enjoy it per se or in layering.
    I gave it away.

  15. :

This is so yummy! Sweet, creamy, simple, comforting, a bit musky from the drydown on. Surprisingly adequate projection and longevity for a bargain scent marketed to tweens/teens. If you love this type of gourmand, give Milk Shake a go no matter your age.

  16. :

To the reviewer below me, yes, this is a kiddy kind of sweet. I personally don’t think it’s nauseating, but too much can give people around you a headache. It’s long-lasting and surprisingly people tell me I smell like cupcakes and sweets (which I enjoy). I’m a teenager, so it’s still kind of wearable, but in small spritzes.

Does it really smells like a kids perfume?
can a gourmand lover (age 20 year it?)
Does it really smells like white tic tac’s?
    Thanks for answers 🙂

  18. :

This is my absolute favourite base scent to layer with! On its own it’s a slightly powdery, sweet milky scent, a wonderful perfume in its simplicity. Compared to its dupes, while not particularly “easy” to find, it’s not discontinued. Also, the price is very low. This is right up my alley. I love it as a base for any vanilla/gourmand, it makes spicy perfumes more youthful and often makes my perfume last longer. A great buy that I will never be without!

I used to wear this when I was teenage, I still remember this “mil shake” or even sweet cotton smell, all my friends where complimenting me till I’ve said it’s bon bons, then they was like “so it’s fragrance for children?”. As I remember I still used full bottle with proud 😀

  20. :

    4 out of 5

Finally I have got my hands on this! I’ve started to get into gourmand scent’s again and this is the perfect kick starter for my gourmand collection – or for any other gourmand scent ‘virgin’. To me this the scent closely resembles the smell of dried milk powder with a hint of sugary goodness (bearing in mind the sugar is not overpowering) in there or perhaps an enriched dough waiting to be baked at a bakery minus the yeasty scent – bizarrely mouth watering. It’s simply beautiful. I don’t mean this in terms of a ‘masterpiece of scents’ but because of its simplicity and it’s not overpowering qualities – not surprising as it’s targeted towards kids. I just adore it.
I find it works best as a little pick me up during the day and if you want to layer it with another perfume to give it a little more of a gourmand depth to it Milkshake won’t overpower your previous scent because of how subtle it is.
Milkshakes is a secret ninja of scents and works wonders! Though it does sit close to the skin, and when people come close enough to smell you, you’ll certainly be complimented. It’s definitely not an overbearing scent and can be worn everyday. I keep this permanently my bag, it’s simple, affordable and delicious

  21. :

UPDATE: So, I’ve tried it on my clothing now and its just beautiful, it smells like soft milky sweet skin and it stays that way. I can smell the milk, vanilla and the animalic notes now and there’s a velvety milky peony like note.
I still wouldn’t call it milkshake, its more vanilla scented milk, cool and airy yet soft and warm.
So, I recommend only wearing it on your clothes if it turns bitter on your skin.. made a huge difference for me.
I still have one spare for swap but I’m gonna be picky about it now :p
Oh and on clothes the sillage is soft but great longevity, on skin I also had great longevity, much stronger projection but my skin just turns it bitter/synthetic

  22. :

    5 out of 5

Yeah, I was keen to try this as I love milky scents but the milk note didn’t last long enough for me.. its a very clean, cool scent, no musk.
For about 5mins I got strong, cold synthetic vanilla and airy skimmed milk. After that it just became bitter and like a mens cologne…I swear it has licorice or anise note in it.. the vanilla remains synthetic throughout but loses its sweetness v quick and the milk just became a bitter aerosol note.. on my skin anyway.. maybe it will smell better on clothes? :/
Also I cant imagine any children liking the scent.. not sweet enough imo :/
I have one for swap if anyones interested?

  23. :

    3 out of 5

So disappointed, it smells extremely synthetic on me.
Too bad, I really wanted to love it 🙁

  24. :

    4 out of 5

Someone gave me this one many years ago and I hated it!
Of course, that person could not know that I hate everything with a milk smell and drinking milk itself.
This smells like the sugared warm milk that mom forced me to have. She stopped when I kept on throwing it up.
I’m not the right person for this type of perfume. Give me Aromatics Elixir any day (just to mention a difficult one for many), but no Bon Bon Malizia!
This line was very popular here among teenagers, much before Pink Aquolina brased them all to the ground zero.
You can still find it for little price at popular department stores.
so I wanted to try again… and again I was taken to the land of things that you see for a second time…
No, not for me for sure, but this time I waited for evolution and wanted to have a more precise opinion about it as a perfume.
Well, ok, I must say I like this one more than all the sickening fruity candy ones that came later.
I actually thint that it has some tenderness in it and I can understand young girls on a budget who wear it. It just has that tender, shy, peaking out for more world to see vibe at any age.
I also suspect that the ones here who love it perhaps have a better chemistry for it that amplify that milkshake smell mingled with feminine scent. On me it falls flat. I will try CSP Matin Calin again just to make sure about this milk thing.
Would I wear it on myself? No way. Not even if it brought all the boys to my courtyard.

  25. :

    4 out of 5

i love sweet scents but I can’t warm up to this one. it lacks personality and some touch of ‘weirdness’ (something that would add originality) that i’m always on the hunt for

  26. :

    5 out of 5

It smells synthetic at first, but then it dries down to a milky sweet scent that bring all da boys to the yard. It smells so sweet and pretty! It lasts pretty long too. I have to buy this internationally though because I live in the U.S.

Yep that is right – Milk Shake is not just for little kids. When I wore this I got a mad compliments from 2 men and I was like — WHAAA? LOL.
    Ok the scent:
Milk Shake is SWEET. Yes it is milky. Probably more milky sweet than sugar sweet. But that is not the only thing in this little scent.
There is a subtle spice to it — almost like a milky sweet vanilla with the smallest amount of chai meets vanilla candle like quality to it.
It’s not anything that is WOWZERS and can think of a bazillion better sweet yummy vanilla scents — but it has that sweet milky vibe that is not so common.
The best aspect of this scent is about 3 hours in, when it is more creamy and like a vanilla shake.
    (que music….. ♪ ♫ “Lala-lalala, The boys are waiting” ♫ ♪)
edit — yes it does have a very synthetic vibe at first but it goes away after a while and is quite nice.

  28. :

    5 out of 5

Also if this perfume is targeted to little girls and teens, this doesn’t mean that it is so different from the other gourmands.
This really smells like milk and sugar and some subltle vanilla.
Because of its ridiculous price (3 euros for a 50ml bottle) it is quite obvious that its components are synthetic and if you use too much of it that can smell a bit chemical.
For me, one spray is enough. The sillage is nice, but the scent itself doesn’t last forever and that isn’t a problem 🙂

Can not find it anywhere.. if anyone has it up for swap or is putting it on Ebay… please let me know! Im dying to try it! thanks!

  30. :

    5 out of 5

I got this Milkshake on eBay after seeing it hyped on here; and because I love sweet gourmands and vanillas and it’s so very cheap, I thought it would be a safe blind buy. Unfortunately, it isn’t: I don’t really actively dislike it, but I sure don’t like it, either. It’s just toothachingly sweet, in a synthetically milky and sugary way; more or less like scenting yourself with the filling of a Milky Way, or yes, a Milkshake. It does smell rather nice, but I want to eat this smell (time to buy some Milky Ways?!) rather than smell like it myself. I guess I should have left this to the tweens for which it was intended.

  31. :

    4 out of 5

What to say, what to say… I am a gourmie lover at heart and I was so very sure that I was going to absolutely love this fragrance. Unfortunately I must confess, much to my disappointment, that I’m not in love with this. It’s not necessarily an overall dislike, it just didn’t live up to my expectations (maybe that has something to do with the month and a half I waited on its arrival from Europe). Another thing that may have added to my disappointment was the fact that I thought it would be unlike anything else in my collection; to my nose, it smells almost exactly like my vanilla bean noel body spray from Bath and Bodyworks. The longevity doesn’t really last any longer either…. I’m going to keep testing to see if my opinion changes (fingers crossed!).

  32. :

    4 out of 5

Story time: I once forgot a McDonald’s McFlury in the fridge overnight, and ate it anyway because I had a craving for smarties. Not the best decision. And this perfume to my nose smells exactly, precisely, perfectly like that decision. Not sure if I would have liked it if it wasn’t from my experience in smarties-greediness, but in this universal dimension Maliza Bon Bons Milk Shake is one of the rare vanillas I can’t appreciate.

    I’m really enjoying this!
It’s a creamy, chewy sugar cookie topped with vanilla buttercream icing.
It’s sweet, obviously, but somehow it doesn’t have that Pink Sugar toothache vibe.

  40. :

    4 out of 5

I was expecting this to smell like a vanilla milkshake, but I got something a lot different. This smelled too much like Pacifica Island Vanilla on me- too many extraneous notes and not nearly enough vanilla… or milk. At the beginning, there was some kind of almond scent which pleased me a little, but it became much too tangy and the vanilla and/or milk notes just got lost in that.
Not a dislike, but it was a disappointing experience.

  41. :

    5 out of 5

Pleasantly surprised by this one — I’d steeled myself for it to be yet another addition to my Blind Buy Hall of Shame. It’s actually quite lovely, though to my nose it doesn’t smell of milkshake so much as the sugary milk at the bottom of a bowl of cereal. So much so, in fact, that I find it indistinguishable from the fleeting top notes of Lann Ael. Am I the only one who gets that parallel? All in all, a pretty thing 🙂

  42. :

    4 out of 5

Straight from the bottle it’s sheer, but heavy on sugar. Next to this I can detect some fruity notes.
On skin… is that Tic Tac?
I was expecting that it would smell heavy on milk, but got a more sheer milky fragrance that has something minty in it. The smell reminds me on the scent of the original Tic Tac’s, but also how the orange Tic Tac’s taste to me, if that makes sense to you.
It’s not what I expected it would be, but still I’m not really disappointed. It’s an unoffensive sweet scent, great for warmer months, that shares a vibe with the Vanilla deo from Malizia, but in a less heavy, more minty and less vanillic way.

cake n’ cuddles’ review is spot on: this “really IS all that and a bag of chips!” and I love it!
Bon Bons Milk Shake is the answer to the question: “What do you get when you add sugar and full fat dairy cream to Chopard’s Casmir?” A creamy-smooth, sweet “Casmir light”. Yum, yum, yummy good! Mouthwatering, delicious, cozy and cheerful. Aptly named: spray it on your wrist, close your eyes before sniffing and you’ll swear you were smelling a vanilla milk shake.
Lasts 3-4 hours on me. I wore it to the grocery store 2 hours after applying and 3 smiling people asked me what I was wearing, so even though it’s a soft fragrance it is noticeable. Truly a “feel good” fragrance and a safe blind buy for all vanilla lovers.
Also, the bottle isn’t the tacky plastic one in the photo above. The cap and bottle shape are the same but the cap is now a pearlized blue and the bottle is glass with a plastic overcoating of pretty poofy white clouds on a royal blue background.
Just 22 days from Bulgaria and well worth the wait. To average out the high cost of internat’l shipping I ordered three 1.7oz bottles for a net cost of $10.09 apiece.

This was a review I was really jazzed to write, since this malted milk perfume really IS all that and a bag of chips. I have smelled countless vanilla perfumes, and while this almost smells like vanilla, the sweetness of creamy sugared milk has this tart like little tang. It’s slightly salty like a malted milk, yet soo creamy. It’s just simply to die for.
The sprayer on this little baby is the bomb, it’s a fine mister. The price? As others have pointed out sooo cheap! I got my bottle for only $12 plus shipping from Bulgaria, if you actually live in Europe it’s practically pocket change.
This fragrance lasts about 6 hours on me which is really not half bad for an EDT. I get compliments on this fun little fragrance, today I got one just walking into the computer lab at my college.

This smells like Comptoir Sud Pacifique’s Vanille Extreme edt BEFORE it was reformulated. To me, it is much more realistic and less expensive than the Demeter Condensed Milk and less musky than Don Spencer Hurwitz’s Au Lait (which I also happen to love). Milky sweet cool vanilla with very good sillage and longevity. In fact, this stuff is so affordable and smells so nice, so strong and long, I’m kinda afraid of it. Are you certain this is safe for kids!? What’s IN this milkshake…?
    Probably drugs.

If you like sweet scents or gourmands, you would love this! It’s absolutely delicious, and it really does smell like a sweet vanilla milkshake. YUM! I just put it on before bed and it’s so sweet, soft and comforting. Also it’s NOT a cloying, sugary smell like you might expect. It definitely has some depth to it (I mean it’s not like a Victoria’s Secret body spray or anything sugary sweet and boring). I’m so glad I swapped this blind. And even though I know it doesn’t cost much, it’s not available in the USA so I was really excited to get my hands on it. And this is random but I LOVE the sprayer. The mist is superfine and better than most sprayers out there. And the bottle is super cute! I can’t believe I’m saying this but this scent is in my top 10. No seriously. I’m almost 30 years old… Yet I still went to the shop the other day and bought this ridiculously cheap yet wonderfully sweet and comforting fragrance.
My husband’s first reactions was “Mmmm.. Vanilla and cookies!!!” That’s more or less what it smells like – sugary milky vanilla and warm cookie dough, though kind of synthetic yet not overpowering.
As I wear it I keep catching these gorgeous whiffs of sugar with ever so tender vanilla. Although the lasting power is not very strong, it’s more than one would expect from a children’s perfume. And I don’t mind reapplying as it smells so lovely 🙂
Having said that I do think this would be way too sweet for warmer days; it’s definitely at its best when used on cold winter days or nights – and Christmas 🙂

Through my most pleasant journey in the world of fragrances I’ve noticed that with cheapest drugstore fragrances (I mean those whose price is less than a fashion magazine’s, a hot dog’s or a deodorant’s) it is most of times a “hit or miss” thing: many can be labeled as total disasters with their mediocre smell, awful sillage and zero longevity.. very very few are decently near to wearable… but some are just a (good!) surprise to my nose. Malizia Bon Bons Milk Shake happens to be in the latter group.. yes!!
This graceful scent comes in a simple and girlie blue bottle that seems to scream at you “Hello! I’m pretty, tender and funny, take me with you!”.. as I am a child at heart I sometimes cannot resist this kind of appeals, so I had to sniff this little thing when I was at the drugstore some weeks ago: and it was worth the purchase from the first moment, really.
I could go on telling you that a fragrance called “Milk Shake” really smells like milkshake (the vanilla or white chocolate type, for the record), that you literally will get whiffs of warm milk and sugar from the unpretentious bottle but on your skin the juice will evolve beautifully into a vanilla-musky delice with hints of rubbery toys smell, that the scent lasts on my skin for several hours and projects pretty well, that nonetheless its undeniable sweetness the fragrance manages a sense of powdery freshness, that it is smooth and calm like a fluffy pillow under your head.. the truth is that I have a thing for simple, cute, nostalgic items, and the fact I’ve found a fragrance owning all these qualities makes me quite happy. For less than 3 Euro Bon Bons Milk Shake is a little treasure each gourmand lover should at least try in my humble opinion.
(My curiosity for milk reminiscent fragrances, born since smelling the gorgeous Gucci Rush’s drydown for the first time, has lead me to discover that some of the most promising milky fragrances are sadly discontinued, such as Matin Calin by CSP and Le Feu d’Issey.. I hope I’ll have the chance to sniff them somehow in the future, for now I’ll be sticking to my newest cheapest girlie EDT).

Smells very much like Vanilla Milkshake and has a sweet, happy-making effect when you spray it in the morning (like my 12 year old sis does!)
The bottle is glass with a colorful plastic kind of wrapper around it and a bright top. It’s a very loved fragrance!

Wow, i was wearing this fragrance on my birthday and everyone was like ” Hey, who smells like vanilla milkshake?! “. 😀
It really smells like vanilla and it’s sweet, but not too sweet and a bit powdery. I like this fragrance because it’s so soft and cosy. And it has a good lasting power, especially when sprinkled on clothes. It does have a little bit of artificiality here. It really reminds me of milk and sugar.
I have a little left of this fragrance and when i run out of it, i’m immediately buying another one. 🙂

The first few times I smelled this it basically locked my senses into the cellar of my grandparents for a few seconds – haha, yes, down there right in front of the freezer where they stored the popsicles that me and my cousin used to stuff ourselves with after the meals.
Those little thick, milky vanilla-cream popsicles coated with chocolate,
and here we are smelling the white chocolate ones very destinctively!
But there is more, luckily the popsicles are the only things reminiscent of that old cellar to me here 😉 I get powdery notes and some shy flowers, and it gets muskier towards the drydown..
sweetness, strong vanilla and a certain amount of artificiality are present the whole time.
It’s not a soft fragrance, but the artificial notes and sweetness are also not brutal here (like in Pink Sugar) I find.
This is not complex, not natural, but it’s very fun, underage and cozy. I like it! 😀
I only own decants of this and Cotton Flower out of the Malizia range; both are not weak or watery but rather concentrated juices, not bad. This one doesn’t last just as well as CF, but it survives several hours with medium sillage.
This morning I experimented by layering Milk Shake over Kenzo Flower Essentielle, to make the powdery notes come out even more, I liked the result.
The bottle is apparently colored glass and not plastic by the way.

Oh, so cute! I had one when I was 14-15…I loved it so much, but now I couldn’t wear it, it would be too sweet!

Oh brings back memories, this one! I discovered it a bit late, I must have been about 17 going on 18 and wore it for a couple of years when I had a craving for something really sweet and girlish other than what the usual deodorant sprays had to offer. I loved Milk Shake for it’s milky – vanillic sweetness. It lasted better than the average deodorant spray too, practically all day if sprayed on clothes. My number one favourite from the same range was Apple Pie though (not yet listed) which had a distinct cinnamon note to die for, Milk Shake came a close second.

I had it when I was a teenager. Not suitable for anyone older than 16 but nice. Warm and sweet, it really smelled like milkshake.
