I did strawberry picking in my parent’s garden for years and I’ve been craving a fresh strawberry scent these last months (not the candy kind).
I’m still perplexed about this one.
At first, it smells exactly like grenadine (pomegranate) syrup.
I could recognise the strawberry leaves, except those leaves have been resting in the kitchen overnight. Nothing like the intoxicating smell you get when warmed under the sun.
Those leaves land some freshness that prevents the scent from being cloying.
Once set, I could detect a strawberry and blackberry purée, with strawberry leaves quietly sitting on the background.
I appreciate it doesn’t smell like your typical, artificial bubblegum strawberry marketed toward little girls.
Although this is not infantile, there’s no complexity that could qualify it as a grown up fragrance.
Just nice, inoffensive and unpretentious.
It works well over Bath & Body Works Bourbon Vanilla and Strawberry body lotion, still, very soft: I have to spritz with abandon to really smell anything!
Hours later, surprise! It morphs into a very agreeable strawberry basket. Actually, I wish it could smell this way at 1st place.
