I had never heard of this perfume until a few weeks ago when shopping in David Jones in Perth City. It has just hit spring here in Australia and the moment I smelled it I new it would be my Summer 2016 scent!
It smells like a beautiful tropical summer day and I have to say I have heard nothing but rave reviews from everyone about it!
It is on the pricey side but soo worth it!!
My only complaint is that I wish the sillage was a little better, but I am someone who doesn’t worry a huge amount about that as I just respray and enjoy!

I don’t know why fragrance companies market and suggest a line as unisex, however when you get your hands on some you immediately detect either feminine or masculine specifically?? Anyway….this is clearly a feminine scent.
When I applied this, I thought initially this was too feminine for me. Gave this one to my wife and she loves it; it has more floral and sweetness that I’m not sure I (as a man) could pull off. Great smell…just more floral than I would like!!
Interesting thing is, it smells very similar to Royal Mayfair (floral effect)! Did a side by side test of both on either hand and my wife hand a hard time trying to distinguish between the two as they were extremely similar. Royal Mayfair is more musk and sharp as Mahiana is less sharp but more floral and airy.

Artificial, chemical-like mix of white flowers that don’t smell like any flower in particular. Very disappointed in Molton Brown – the quality is just not there. The sprayer dribbles too when sprayed. Boo.

On MB website it is definitely classed as unisex along with all the other Navigation Through Scents. It does lean towards the feminine side, however I do feel that certain men will be able to pull it off flawlessly, as it is a fresh, expensive smelling juice. It has become my signature day scent (shisur being my choice for the evening) its longevity is well above average. Fragrantica please update your records and edit it to be aimed at both men and women!

Try to imagine a more masculine take on Elie Saab Le Parfum (without the honey) and you will get something very similar to Mahina. It’s basically orange flower + jasmine + cedar, and, unfortunately, I don’t get much of the lovely tiare flower notes.
Staying power was 5 hours on my skin.
