I was fooled by this fragrance. I smelled the bottle and got a light, fresh but rich smell; seeing it was an Arabian oil, I assumed it would be complex and sultry. I didn’t see the name (“Crystal” is always a certain style) until after I bought it.
This is not quite a shrill white floral, nor is it quite a watery fragrance, nor a pure white cotton. It’s somewhere in the middle of those styles, but definitely with the high-note persona of a “Crystal” fragrance.
It has a light fruity tartness to start with; I smell primarily green apple and black currant (similar to DKNY Be Delicious). The middle notes of LOTV, jasmine, freesia and gardenia are not quite headache-inducing, but it’s a near thing. The middle is rather coarse, indistinct; just a mass of florals, like an inexpertly composed bouquet. There is a warmth that appears after about the first hour, as the final notes appear–it’s mostly a clean cotton musk and a tiny hint of sandalwood. I don’t smell any vanilla or any amber. This reminds me of Versace Yellow Diamond, but with less citrus; and even more like Bright Crystal (but it doesn’t do the dusty thing at the end). If you like that style of bright, sharp, cold, crystalline fragrance this is definitely for you.
Sillage is low-modest (especially for a perfume oil), and longevity maybe 4-5 hours.
