Again, a perfume that could have been a great choice if only its performance would have been better. I really can’t understand why to make something so fine and beautiful and pleasant and at the same time to neglect the pleasure to wear it for more than 30 minutes. So sad.

Wow! Another hit you between the eyes scent on the opening. I get banana skins amid a huge floral bouquet. I recognise banana skins in the fragrance of the magnolia grandiflora. The magnolia Grandiflora scent I am very familiar has a big kick of sweetish lemon. I LOVE it!
Sadly I don’t get that lemon here at all. This is a fresh yet not sharp citrus note. It appears a little way along the timeline and stays to the end. I do get the white flowers and some ylang. A very pretty scent to wear on casual days. It speaks of lazy days in the heat.
I can see why someone might think of Anais Anais. It’s ghost does appear briefly.
I wish the longevity and sillage were not so poor.

Well. Yes finally this is quite close to the real flower smell which is definitely citrusy.
I don’t know why when you find a Magnolia perfume is a bold yellow fat fragrance. Real magnolia is fresh and lemonlike.
So here you have that odour. This could be a great hot spring / summer fragrance. Remember a 7 o’clock fresh morning in August.
Actually this is a white flowers citrus soapy melony salty scent.
Smell like a french buttery aldehydic bar soap plus cucumber. Milk and fresh cutted grass and salt.
Really interesting and fascinating perfume.
The beguin is really potent. After a few minute is nice. In the end remember me l’Eau by Serge Lutens and a bit Laine de Verre also.

Nice white floral with a dash of citrus-pleasing and slightly more modern than a regular o’white floral. I bought the sample with Sandrine, which on my other arm is like toxic citrus soap-yuck.
Michael has some nice powdery jasmine, green, and citrus.
On me, its like Tender Poison with a little more citrus and a slight kick of the magnolia funk.
It does remind me of magnolia, just not the grandiose flare of a true magnolia I remember in the summer.
I like it more than just like, but not quite love it.
Maybe thats the problem, you want a grandiose love with sandrine and michael, and you don’t get it from the fragrances. Sandrine should have smelled like Michael, and Michael should have been woody and green with a light touch of floral.
The progression of the scent between the two is limited…maybe I want more in this romance than the perfumer wanted to give. Maybe it wasn’t the love story I wanted for this pair.
Sandrine over powers with the green citrus tartness
and Michael is not full enough of a constitution to carry the passion through

Nose-to-bottle, this is a slightly indolic magnolia (indolic in that it smells slightly spittle-ish; not rotten). The first few moments on the skin are also that indolic magnolia with maybe a bit of lily of the valley (not listed, but it seems to be there). Then, it transitions to a lemon-pledge version of lemon, rather artificial and sharp and not a bit sweet. The magnolia seemed to disappear.
After 2 hours, this had vanished on my skin; there might be the tiniest bit of jasmine musk with a hint of lemon left on my wrist, but that’s it. I’m happy to sample fragrances, but with the poor longevity, low sillage and mediocre scent profile, this was a wasted fragrance day.

This was a bit of a disappointment – seems I don’t have the chemistry for MG-M. Soapy floral of no particular flower that starts too strong, but fades very quickly and has no additional stages. Would love to smell it on someone for whom it is a good match.

Scarlet O’Hara would have worn this. Delicate, very mixed floral. I like the lemon, rosy floral blend. I am a floral gal, so this is up my alley.
Summer dress. Sandals, sitting the patio drinking a white wine with some friends as we people watch before shopping.
Not a date night perfume, more a ‘this one is for me’ perfume.
Extremely short lasting perfume. Nice, close, don’t think I will buy it.
