Do yourself a favor? Check out how many fragrances The Fragrance Kitchen has in the Fragrantica database. By the time you read this review, another one of their creations will be added to their already king sized list. Upon testing about 15 of their other fragrances, I can certainly tell you that their strength are not in the numbers which brings the phrase “quality over quantity” into existence. As I close my eyes and sniff my skin, white thoughts are conjured. That piece of information is interesting to note given the black opaque bottle Magic Griffin is stored in. When you apply Magic Griffin, your search for “fruity” will never be fulfilled instead, you will inherit a glow of lemon; not a splash but a glow. The jasmine note is subtle yet visible and a strong contributor to the prolonged endurance of this fragrance. The wood is detectable showing an almost wet lumber spine but clearly isn’t interested in being in the limelight. The violet is shaded in the midst of the other notes at work while the patchouli is forced into action. To some extent, the bushy herb is the only note that attempts to go rogue but never succeeds. All in all, no one note escapes the confines of the white hue. “Do I believe in Magic?” I believe this fragrance just as much as i believe in the existence of an actual Griffin. For me, the necromancy was lacking some ingredients and dynamism. This is very much a creation for people that like their fragrances sheer and on the plant side of things.
