This is what A la Nuit of Serge Lutens should have been but it’s not. So far the most straight up indolic meat-like jasmine I smelled. I don’t even sense something else apart from it. It is a study in indolic jasmine, no apologies offered to whoever likes lighter or greener jasmines. You handle it or move on. On my side I appreciate it for what it is, almost like a reference material for study, but could not wear it I think.

(solid version) Lovely, versatile fragrance. I’m glad it works well with my skin chemistry. However I will forever question if the name “Lust” was chosen to suit what this fragrance does… First of all the fumes are a little drying on my throat. Essentially I become thirsty when I wear Lust. Secondly… Apparently some say that this fragrance smells the best when one is ovulating (for a lot of women this is when they are the most lustful…..)…… Lol I just thought the coincidences are funny

My option echoes the very honest Mwalton , whose reviews are tactful and credible.
    Ditto .
( Mwalton is definitely a tell you straight Texas girl . So am I ! )

I think it’s fantastic that this brand offer vegan perfumes containing no animal products and having never been tested on animals. I’m fast growing a collection£
The shop assistant warned me against this – ‘it’s a jasmine bomb’
I LOVE it! The jasmine smells so authentic and reminds me of humid evenings in Sydney as a child.
It’s defo the ‘dirty’ side of jasmine bolstered by some woods and ylang ylang.
Cruelty free and an absolute BOMB in terms of performance!
I love it! I love white florals… but if you don’t….

Lust, my nasty Jasmine Queen, my trusty antidepressant in perfume form for many years, I would never be without you in my fragrance library!
I agree with anna.rene’s review below, in that my desire for it is cyclical, hormonal- I wish I understood this better! All I know is sometimes nothing else will do but pure Lust, in all her plasticky yet paradoxically real Jasmine glory.
I don’t find this fragrance beautiful – lust isn’t, is it? But it is totally compelling and pulls no punches. If you want sheer Jasmine essential oil power offered to the Red Goddess on a pyre of plastic doll heads, get this. People will either swoon or give you the side-eye, so only wear if you can handle that and brazen it out.
Your date may be disturbed, or aroused, or both. Just shrug and let Lust reveal a vermillion flower-blood facet of your unknowable self.

Wearing a fragrance is as tricky as dating someone. I need time to know how I feel about a fragrance. Often, I make impulsive purchases at first sniff – and five dates down, they’re in the relegated bag!
I’ll update my reviews about my experiences and if you’re someone like me, maybe it’ll help you make better financial decisions Haha! Happy Sniffing!
    DATE #1
Wow! this one is potent, bizarre and lovely altogether.
I tend to overspray fragrances and this was a bad idea with Lust. (AKA Lady Flower – here in the middle east.
On first wear, I’m clear that Lust needs time to settle to show how beautiful it truly is.
On first spray this is very high pitched Jasmine.
It’s weird but to me, it almost has a smoked chemical/gasoline kind of tone to it in the beginning.
    Lust’s brashness stays for a good 45minutes to 1hour.
But then it starts moving to a really pretty place. Sandalwood is beautiful here. It gives a smoothness and rounds off this fragrance really well.
I have never smelt a jasmine quite like this before.
Stays pretty linear on me, just loses that brash, chemical like opening.

Lush Lust is better experienced from afar. It’s very indolic, and I feel it’s a bit too dirty and I love dirty Jasmine but this leans too much on the decay side to be sexy. I feel it is better handled in the solid so the one to buy for Jasmine sexiness. The EDP is just too much. Try before you buy

This might be another example of a fragrance which I should have tested before ordering it, as it simply, and by simply I do not mean without artistry, is the essence of closely walking by blooming jasmine. However, I do not detect that much that would warrant a discussion about indole and its seemingly incorrect differentiation of fecal and excremental, where probably something closer to animalic may be meant, nor do I detect a resemblance to a magic marker as some have mentioned. I thought so at least, as the scent did emit a magic marker glow and a sticky syrupyness layered lightly on a foundation of jasmine while it settled. I think that the scent might have been made even more distinctive by making something out of the above mentioned settling phase or by, how to say, deconstructing the jasmine? Inane as this may sound. As it is, the fragrance is pleasant as an experience for its element of seemingly authentic and graceful jasmine. It might even make for a nice room scent. Naming it this way really was a strange call by the company and or the original perfumer, who by the way is not the same person as the person who will have manufactured your specimen. I would assume this to introduce a possible margin of error but other than that, with all due respect, I really would have to question the interpretation of some who are referring to this as a magical potion of sensuality because ultimately it is rather harmless. Apparently though this is a rather effective, if usually also rather empty, promise in parts of society.

I noticed that Lust has mixed reviews and I think I might know why everyone has a different experience with Lust. First I have to say that everyone here is very descriptive and imaginative when it comes to describing Lush’s Lust. I love Lust and I’ve been wearing the solid (which lasts a good long time) for a few weeks now. I’m not so happy that it’s tinted red, but that’s my only complaint.
Part of the reason this is different on everybody is it’s mixing with your own chemistry. I also think it’s mixing with our pheromones and our fertility cycles, but I’ll get to that in a minutes.
First, it’s strong. I only need a little bit. Second, when I first put it on it’s got a slight chemical smell that others mentioned, but after 20/30 minutes (or sooner if I am warm) this strong, overbearing smell goes away and melts into this wonderful, very very deep and warm sexy jasmine. I love it. I smell like I just rolled on a bed of jasmine flowers. After a little bit I stop smelling it on me but others tell me they can still smell it. I sometimes get whiffs of it 5 to 7 hours after I first put it on.
Here’s what I realized: I LOVE Lust and it makes me smell amazing…when I’m NOT menstruating. Seriously. The few days before I started my period to when it’s over I hate the smell and it DOES NOT change on me! My family members confirmed, it smells different on me when I’m on my period. It stays this weird, strong icky smell that I don’t like. When I wear it when I’m ovulating or around that time it’s wonderful and sexy.
So if you tried this and hated it, or loved it at first and than found you hated it, just check your cycle, lol, and maybe that’s the reason.

This is where I draw the line for certain fragrances that I will not cross. I can “handle” Fracas with the intense tuberose, but I just cannot do it with the combo of jasmine in Lust. I tried it multiple times and could not get pass the very unpleasant mothball effect that lingered thru and thru in Lust, as much as I sorta “admire” its unusual, strong, bold and gusty jasmine scent, a skanky one at its fullest that gets intensified by ylang ylang. I guess the main reason that I have to completely part way with Lust is probably because the tuberose in Fracas does calm down after awhile, but the jasmine in Lust doesn’t. It kept revealing me from my “hiding spot” in the crowd, if you know what I mean, and in an uncomfortable way. Lust is way too far from being a crowd pleaser. At home, my husband could not tolerate it either. He can “take” any scent that I wear, just please not Lust. I guess Lust is not that “lushy lust” after all, by his definition then. Saying no to Lust does not mean that I’m “chicken” or myself not “confident” enough to wear it. I’m just attracted to a different kind of confident scents other than Lust. That’s all.

Smelled this today.. I get dirty, indolic jasmine and cigarettes. CIGARETTES!!
Is this what Jasmine & Cigarettes smell like after all these years?! If so, I need both!!
Definitely reminds me of a packed, sweaty, smoke filled bar in France. Yet, there’s something ‘at home’ about the whole scene, on top of taking a stranger home.

Dirty jasmine is right! A Samsara ylang / sandalwood combo that feels a bit scratchy, but is just catapulted into greatness by that jasmine. Fantastic!

Lust is an intensely carnal elixir that smells of fleshy, camphoraceous, indole-laden molten bubblegum jasmine grandiflorum, evocative of blazing summer evenings spent with raven-haired femme fatales. INTOXICATING!

Sexy, dirty, unapologetic jasmine. I just don’t exactly love how it stains so you gotta be careful with application. Easily my most complimented perfume of 2017. The bottles are tiny so if you usually get 100mL, this is a pain and ends up way more expensive than necessary.

Not sure why it is necessary to write about supposed masses in a disdainful way while propagating some mindless saying according to which responsible behaviour practically does not lead to significant developments.

I love jasmine. This is my least fave jasmine. And, I do own the sexy, skanky, dirty, smokey jasmines (modern and vintage). This goes on with a terrible synthetic note that is a nose curler. As it dries down it is DRY jasmine. Not sweet. Like the flower with all the sweet heart of it sucked out. As it dries down it gets sweeter but still with that sneezy synthetic note. Like plastic jasmine. Very odd. I almost like it in the base in a sick weird way.
Edit: I read a review further down that is spot on. Jasmine mixed with gasoline. Yes. In the top.
Pinpointed the scent in the drydown: like sticking your nose in the bloom of a night-blooming primrose. That dry, floral, pollen scent.

    Lust solid:
Sexy, indolic, narcotic, tuberosy, a lit dizziness may follow…rich and sweet like honey.
The Queen of White Flowers after Fracas, Blonde by Versace, Lady Million EDT, Paradiso by Cavalli and many more.
    An innocent love game.
Wear it at breezy evenings with your loved one and let it do the magic.
BEWARE, this perfume is NOT FOR SUMMERTIME!!

I’m not sure if this is reformulated or what but when I smelled this on a paper strip on a Lush store recently, I don’t smell any jasmine nor ylang ylang at all what so ever but a citrusy smell. I don’t exactly know what citrus or citruses it is but I’m kind of dissapointed, knowing that I LOVE the smell of jasmine and ylang ylang.

Some of these negative reviews are busting me up… I disagree overall, but that doesn’t take away from my comical amusement.
I find it interesting that this is so polarizing. The aptly named Lust is SEXY, yes, SEXY in all caps. It’s confident. And every time I wear it I receive a compliment or inquiry as to what fragrance I’m wearing. People respond extremely well to it. I could give a solitary hoot about compliments, but I mean, if I’m getting them it can’t be that bad. I do apply very lightly though. 2 carefully placed sprays.
I’m wearing it again today after having it collect dust for nearly a year & with the first sprits I recalled instantly why I love it so… Indolic Jasmine and ylang with a background of pillowy sandalwood and creamy, sweet vanilla. Very few, if any, fragrances today have this much blatant sex appeal. Perhaps I like it because it reflects my personality: Ballsy, unapologetic, unconcerned with what’s accepted by the masses, & unafraid to take charge of the room. You know what they say, “Well behaved women rarely make history.”
Side note directed at LUSH: Your new bottles are boring and they suck! Also, you made a huge mistake discontinuing the 10ml sprays. I know you’re trying to force people into a bigger bottle but a lot of us (me, my husband and son included) used to buy a big bottle AND a 10 ml spray to Carry for touch ups of EVERY fragrance we bought at Lush. And no, the solid tins and ridiculous “wash cards” don’t make up for it and I won’t buy them. You’re losing money & loyal customers in your attempt to make more. I have a decent stock of my favorites but I probably won’t buy more unless you quit screwing customers.

I have the solid version because the liquid stuff was just too intense for me. The solid version is a little tamer but the major difference between them is sillage. I recommend the solid version if, like me, indolic jasmine is your guilty pleasure but you don’t want to fill an entire room with it. There is a bubblegum-like candy sweetness to this fragrance as well, I really have to be in the right mood for it. Great fragrance for going out to clubs/bars, please use sparingly!

This stuff is bathroom cleaner strength, like you’ll suffocate if you dont have the vent fan running. It also just stinks. Its jasmine (jasmine is my favorite floral scent) ruined with something dirty and nasty mixed in. I think it smells terrible & my husband was disgusted by it. It also sprays on color & that is unacceptable. Sure it dried but I live in Texas & I wonder if I break out in a sweat is the front of my shirt going to turn a funky color. For me This is a total fail of a perfume.

Holy Sh*t, some of these reviews get creative! LOLLLLLL. This is why I love this place!
Anyway, I consider myself a nearly indiscriminate perfume lover; there is a HUGE range of scents and combinations that please me. Having said that, oddly enough I’ve never met a Lush perfume that didn’t at least in part repulse me, and this is no exception. I can acknowledge that they are taking risks, and god knows that is hard to come by today. But man, some of their scents make the prospect of rush hour armpits and overhead subway handrails sound like relief.

I very like this fragrance. It smells so beautifully, and pleasantly sweet. This perfume is really natural smelling and absolutely not disturbing. It fits for almost every occasion. To me it smells like cranberry a little bit, however it is not among the notes.

This review is for the solid scent. I have been on the lookout for a realistic jasmine, something that smells like my tea, rice, and star flowers at the garden center. I have found it in lush lust. The solid scent is clean, straightforward pure jasmine. I can see layering this with other fragrances when you want to ramp up the jasmine notes. The first application was slightly challenging but it doesn’t last long and is worth getting through. If you are looking for an indolic Jasmine this is not your scent.

Gasoline supercharged. Punked-up jasmine with attitude. Lusty Lust, these flowers are out of control and shooting from the hip.
This does really smell like jasmine, but MORE. A riotous cacophony of jasmine, wide open jasmine that’s been dancing and sweating under fantastical solar rays all afternoon and into the evening, gorgeousness dripping off it. It is ‘muchy’, the kind of jasmine you might encounter as the centre piece at the Mad Hatters’ tea party if you followed Alice down the rabbit hole. Ripe, spicy ylang is there too and a little bit of soft rose in the background, trying (and failing) to keep the situation under control. Everything is so warm and open, bright and intense. Some camphorous indole, a little bit of petrol fumes, but ‘oh so pretty’ too.
I’ve never got through a bottle of perfume so quickly as I did with Lust, I was addicted to it for a couple of months. It was a brief but fantastic love affair.
My daughter has adopted it as her signature now, so I don’t wear it anymore, but I still get to smell its outrageous wonders regularly.
Lust is loud and proud, it has an anarchic sense of humour and keeps you smiling with a wry little grimace all day long.
Songs in the mood of Lust might be Foster The People Pumped Up Kicks DUBSTEP remix. And if you go a bit mad with the spritzing It’s going to turn into I Wanna Be Sedated by the Ramones.
    Crazy, beautiful, unapologetic.

This scent is ridiculously strong and long lasting – I can barely use a drop and it lasts all day. (old version) It smells like bubblegum and dirty indolic jasmine. Lust also smells like one of those super sweet smelling hookah flavors. I find I hate it if it’s sprayed because it drowns everything out, but if I dab on a little it’s a weird animalic bubblegum scent and I enjoy it more. I got it as a gift and I don’t use it much but if you enjoy bubble gum and jasmine, check it out.

I sprayed it on a tester strip in store and recieved a sample of the solid version. The strip was kept in a small paper bag for two days before I got around to smelling it (no point in analyzing scents surrounded by Lush products in store), and it now smells like the solid version minus the lip balm/bubblegum but plus cumin. I think the spray version is better for those who want that dirty sex stink (I do!). The solid version has it, but not enough.
Lust smells like you showered that evening, had sex for hours in hot climate and when you sit in the afternoon sun the day after, your sniff your warm shoulder.
    I am so buying this!

I hate this scent! It’s just very overpowering and strong and when I smell it, it makes me sneeze. But a lot of people said they like it when I was wearing it. I’m now scared to try Sikkim Girls and everything with jasmine.

  32. :

    5 out of 5

It’s extremely animalic and long lasting. The initial spray was pretty bombastic. The Sillage is really heavy at least for 3 hours. And this fragrance is all about the Jasmine. It’s Jasmine from top to bottom. It’s pretty realistic and unusual smelling. I think that it’s a well done Jasmine Soliflore perfume. You can compare it to A La Nuit by Serge Lutens – especially the beginning. A La Nuit turns later on towards a creamy tuberose fragrance but Lust stays just on the Jasmine and it doesn’t morphe. It’s strong, animalic, sweet and white floral. If you’re searching for an indolic Jasmine fragrance – this might be the right one for you. It has nothing to do with Alien which is pretty clean and woody smelling compared to Lust. This one also has a spicy/oriental side to it wich is pretty unique. It smells a little bit like petroleum – crisp and scratchy. The Jasmine stays through the whole wear length. All in all it lasts for 9 hours for sure. It’s pretty cheap and it has a nice quality.

I’m not sure if I’ve already wrote this but I feel so bad for suggesting it to people! Years ago I smelled this and thought ” oh god, body odor and bubble gum?” I chocked it up to a fluke and later thought it was a sexy heavy jasmine. I have no idea how I detected that. I came back around to it after suggesting it based on my memory of it and I guess I wasn’t wrong. Imagine a sweaty teen packing your groceries chewing bazooka bubblegum. 🙁 how did I make this mistake?

Hmm. This is a difficult fragrance for me. I want to love, even like it but it’s just so peppery and fecal and a bit much. Just. Too. Much.

True story. I was talking to a woman in the presence of my children and I kept slowly backing away from her. Apparently it was funny for my teens to watch. She moved towards me and I kept moving away. At the time I thought she had horrible breath. I was trying to remain polite without getting sick. I had great sympathy for this woman. Somehow I thought maybe she had dental problems that caused her to smell like moth balls and porta potty. Turns out she was wearing Lust. It’s wonderful that we all are different and enjoy different scents. Please just know if you are wearing Lust, some people will think you smell really foul. If you love Lush I honestly believe that you should wear it and enjoy yourself. Just know that to many people you will smell dirty. It may smell terrific to you but someone you meet during the day will think you smell like a diaper. I am only posting this review as a public service announcement. I still feel sorry for that poor stinky woman. Horrific and powerful scent.

This is absolutely repulsive. There ar indolic jasmine perfumes and then there is this monster. In a class by itself in terms of it’s fecal smell. I was dying to give it a try, and while visiting a Lush store, I gave the solid perfume a try. The moment I put it on, it just reeked of poop! I was with my mother and she just about gagged from the smell. Still, I didn’t wash it off, hoping that it would develop into something less putrid, perhaps bearable, and possibly wearable. No such luck. I know that one size does not fit all and that so much depends on body chemistry, but I can’t imagine how this could possibly smell good on anyone! To those of you who love it, to each there own. You must be getting something completely different from what I experienced!
I just want to add that I am s huge fan of jasmine – all types of jasmine. This just does not work for me at all. I saw that someone wrote that this smells different on her depending upon where she is in her menstrual cycle. If that is the case, than that might explain why it smells horrific on this menopausal lady who still likes to think she can be sexy! ; )

  37. :

    5 out of 5

My feelings had been different over the years, not worth a review to me. My bottle just sat around but I remember a time I thought it was deep and sexy. What the hell happened? This is how I felt the first time I encountered it, chalked up to a bad batch, well it’s back and in my own bottle.
It’s bubblegum. How? No clue, it’s a sticky sickly sweet bubblegum. 🙁 remind me never to touch this again. Definitely don’t blind buy. Now I feel bad for suggesting it in the past.

All I get is hot ABS plastic.
Walk into a Harbor Freight and you get a similar (but with more PVC and polybutylene) waft coming from the piles of questionable products of Mao’s Poundland Big Rock Candy Mountain. To get a perfect replication of the smell of Lust, you must melt a hole through a toy keyboard with a soldering iron.
I don’t know how the store can carry something as shimmeringly pleasing as Karma on the same shelf as something as confusing, terrifying, and untoward as this thing they allege to call Lust. It’s *REALLY* bad.

  39. :

This was the first fragrance I ever bought with my own money and wore regularly. My mom loved it so much that I bought another one for her birthday, and now our house always smells gorgeous. I have only tried the solid version, but it is worthwhile purchases. I believe I purchase it for around $12, and even though it comes in a small tin, it is extremely potent and lasts forever.
I consider this the crème de la crème of pure, concentrated, jasmine. It is not a clean, palatable take on white florals. This is the real deal, love-me-or-hate-me jasmine: sweet, sexy, skanky, indolic, and quite dirty. If you have only smelled cleaner, less potent versions of jasmine like Chanel’s Gabrielle, Beauty by Calvin Klein, or Demeter’s Jasmine, you may be surprised or even offended by this beauty.
It’s rather ironic how flowers are considered the scent of freshness, of petal-white pureness, or cleanliness, and yet a pure floral scent like this screams sex and dirtiness (the good, Christina Aguilera type of dirrty). In reality, flowers are diverse and many, especially white florals, can be cloying and indolic.
But I find it fascinating that flowers can be so multifaceted. Even a supposedly single-note scent can be composed of so many different notes and molecules. Within this jasmine, there’s an almost earthy tea-like note. Some people have complained about something excessively sweet in this fragrance, which is the banana candy scented molecule benzyl acetate, found in white florals like jasmine.
Growing up around jasmine flowers, I can attest that this scent is 100% accurate, a hyperrealistic, skanky, jasmine with the scent amped up to a psychedelic level. If you love real jasmine, you’ll love this scent. If you hate real jasmine, you’ll hate this scent. But for fans, this stuff is sex in a bottle.

  40. :

If I were into clubbing, this would be my go-to club scent. It’s sex bottles, frankly. It’s pure womanly sensuality. The smell of Jasmine has been used for centuries to represent feminine sensuality, and there’s a reason for that!
It’s a bit harsh when first applied but once it warms up on the skin and settles a bit…. Watch out. 😉

I felt really uncomfortable wearing it in the
supermarket line 2 hours after I applied it at lush.
    If I have to draw a picture…
Night out. Sexy Goth. Chewing bubblegum.
    End of story:

A sunny jasmine, full of joy, funny, sexy, childish and by contrast also deep and a bit bitter-dark.
    Very nice.

    Three words:death by jasmine.
Strong, indolic, rude, very far from a delicate flower, but full of personal assertiveness.
Remember me the Beatles’ song “Sexy Sadie”.The pyramid is confused,(vanilla?sandalwood?both drowned by letal jasmine..)but the mood is very crazy, you will be transported immediately in the 70′.
However big you think you are,Lust is bigger than you.For sad days, when you don’t find a sense of the day and this crazy jasmine will pull you in a psichedelic world.

WOW! This lady is a beast! Jasmine and sandalwood so thick it’s almost syrupy. Absolutely gorgeous and sensual, but a little bit will go a long way. This perfume is not for the faint of heart, but it is for wild ones who need to make a statement.

  45. :

Lust is dirty jasmine for sure, very indolic/animalic, almost pure sambac jasmine. It’s almost uncomfortable to wear in public lol
I wore it to pick up my kids from school and felt kinda sheepish
It has very strong silage…you find yourself wafting in a thick cloud of pure sensual white floral heaven.
    Love it!

Honestly, I smell ylang ylang just as much as I smell jasmine here. It’s very sweet. It has that banana-like, tropical fruit juice, vibe to it. Slightly headache inducing if you spray too much, but I do like the scent. It’s both sweet and a little spicy. Personally I think it smells best when sprayed on a few cotton-wool balls as opposed to directly onto the skin. The skin can make the scent turn sour, I think. Spritzing it on a few cotton balls and leaving those scattered around a room can create a lovely ambience.

“Aw fur coat an nae knickers”.
Make of that what you will!
I popped into Lush a couple of days ago to have a nosey and found this. It was a “love at first sniff” thing for me, and I came out with a little pot of the solid perfume.
It’s the most intensely sweet and dirty, skanky, sexy indolic jasmine that just works really well on me and makes me feel empowered in my femininity.
For and on my skin, it is a true jasmine scent. I do detect ylang ylang, but not rose and the sandalwood and vanilla are very faint, too. It’s just a pure jasmine and I’m super pleased and excited with finding it. Especially considering the other two Gorilla perfumes I’ve bought from Lush are definitely not favourites of mine. I like BoG and hate Devil’s Nightcap. This one, however, is a love.
So I’m going to go buy some more, in a bottle. And more solid, since one of the sales reps in store told me that there are new fragrances coming soon, so that’s something to keep an eye out for. I’d be sad if they took Lust out of the range, so I need to get back and pick some up soon, just in case. I don’t really want to be without it. I’ll be interested to see how and if the spray differs to the solid perfume. I have a feeling that this is probably better as a solid…we shall see.
As others have mentioned, do beware of the strength of this fragrance. Indolic jasmine is a very “love it or hate it” scent and it never pulls its punches. This could put a first date right off. Save it for intense encounters with someone who loves it and they will never, ever forget the experience.
Personally, this walks all over Tom Ford’s Jasmin Rouge and Bvlgari’s Jasmin Noir at a fraction of the price.
It does not, however, replace Frederic Malle’s Carnal Flower, for which I have a deep and abiding love, but which is in no way as downright randy as Lush Lust.

Smells like my real jasmine essential oil, just stronger,
I like it and bought one….
Nice to use at work and around the house.
I find it very mild sillage but long lasting….
I bought the 10 ml spray as its stronger than the balm.
I also like Karma which is quite citrusy and Sikkim, which is very hippie.
I have used a lot of aromatherapy oils for over 20 years so quite used to these kind of scents.
They are actually expensive for what you get, 10ml for $17.95aud, which if I bought 100ml would buy me a 100ml Chanel No.5 or a Dior.
But at 10ml, its an easy buy.
Sikkim costs a little more, $21.95 for 10 ml.
They also have 3 pack balms – Karma, Lust and Sikkim for $34.95, 12g each in a tin. I like that a lot and will get that eventually….it’s nice to carry around in the bags.
However, these scents are of course not quite my Alien, Aromatics Elixir, Opium or Rive Gauche …
They are comforting, but not arousing….at least not for me.
These are homely natural scents for me….

I loooove Lush perfumes. My personal favourite may be Karma, but it’s so unusual that I cannot wear it very often, because I’ve received complaints from people who cannot handle that superpowerful orange-patchouli-pine cocktail.
On the other hand, among the Lush scents that I own, Lust is the one that I have received most compliments for. Beware, though, that this is another sillage monster, firmly aimed at jasmine lovers. This is a proper jasmine fragrance, in fact it’s probably the strongest jasmine that I have ever smelled – so very realistic, enchanting, intoxicating. It does not have any of Mugler Alien’s aloofness; it’s just this gorgeous natural jasmine, enhanced with ylang-ylang, vanilla and sandalwood (apparently there’s also some rose in it, but it’s barely detectable). It bears a strong resemblance to another white flower symphony that I own – Carthusia Fiori di Capri.
Another good thing about Lust is that it contains much less chemicals than your average designer fragrance; not to mention the affordable price. Sometimes I layer it with another Lush fragrance, the citrus-heavy Sun, to give it an almost Chanel-esque zesty twist.
Jasmine lovers, what are you waiting for? Go grab Lust!

If it’s possible to like and dislike a fragrance simultaneously, that’s how I feel about Lust. Jasmine, rose, ylang ylang, vanilla and sandalwood. A distinct “Lush” scent, I wouldn’t confuse this as being made by anyone else. It’s a heady, sultry, honeysuckle- jasmine type of a scent, but what is it with that burnt rubber/ tire note? Daddy- O shampoo also has it, *what* is that? I think that’s the note that turns me off, even though there are things I do like about Lush’s scents. If anything, they are unique. It’s very, very strong too! Reminds me of the 90s, when young women had dyed black hair and red or brown lipstick, and wore all black, but i
