Description

Nina Ricci launched its new fragrance Luna in the Fall of 2016, as a “sister” edition of the popular apple-shaped Nina fragrance from 2006, tagging them “Les Belles de Nina.” Luna is described as a bold, intense and mysterious woody – floral composition with sweet nuances. Its first flanker will come out in early 2017 as a lighter edition intended for the Asian market called Luna Blossom.

The new fruity – floral composition is developed by perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin. The top notes starts with a burst of fresh bergamot and Nashi pear. The heart includes flowers of peony, jasmine and magnolia, based on a drydown of cedar and musk.

The bottle design represents a brilliant and glistening violet apple with golden details. The fragrance is available as a 50 ml Eau de Toilette.

Gorgeous bottle. Generic light floral fragrance. Literally nothing about it stands out to me. The scent is is linear, and gone in a few minutes. Very underwhelming. I was expecting something more distinct from Nina Ricci. (Want to swap for it? PM me!)

Gorgeous fruity floral fragrance ! It’s a little bit soapy, but I like that. I can smell a mild peony and bergamot the most.

Just got this perfume today, it’s my first ever Nina Ricci perfume, and it’s a beautiful bottle that matches the beautiful, seductive scent. I like fruity florals but it’s so hard to find one that doesn’t come across as synthetic and too often sickly sweet. This one is a winner. It’s versatile enough that I think it could be worn for all seasons, if you change out your perfumes according to season that is (I don’t usually, I do have a few perfumes that I only wear in certain seasons but most of them I wear according to mood.) If I had to choose a specific mood for Luna Blossom (I haven’t discovered it yet as I just got it today) I’d say it would be the cuddling up in a sexy (but comfy) outfit on a cool day to listen to the rain (which coincidentally works for fall and spring!)
The bergamot, jasmine, and pear are most notable to me and go really well with the cedar and musk which makes for a sweet woody dry down that to me is quite unique from other fruity floral perfumes. The longevity and sillage are both moderate, I’ll think that it’s run its course only to catch a whiff of that sweet/woody scent hours later so while it does stay close to the skin it’s still noticeable hours later. Next I’ll be ordering the original Nina Ricci Luna as this has just become one of my top 3 favorite perfumes!

If you like Curious by Britney Spears you will like this, Luna Blossom is lighter though, and more peony mixed with magnolia, pear and bergamot. I like this, because it’s not as sharp as Curious.

Light and casual. The peony is most prominent.
Floral with crisp fruits. Not juicy, not too sweet. A touch of citrus peel bitterness.
Pretty loud opening but it calms down quickly. The drydown is a close-to-skin woody, gentle on my nose. Which is also a winner because woody usually gives me a headache.
Lasts about 5~6 hours on my skin.
Overall it’s nothing new. But I find myself reaching for it often because it’s easy to wear.
There’s no complicated character to it, so I am almost always in the mood for Luna Blossom.
The bottle is so adorable. This is definitely going in my coffee table bowl as a mock fruit when I’m done.

Fruity, bergamot, floral, musk. Not overly sweet and bergamont gives just little bit bitterness. This is deluted, calmer and less sweet version of Nina Nina Ricci. Also here are more white floral, rather than pink. Similar depth and sugary-water vibe. This seems romantic perfume for night or even everyday if you like “darker” perfumes. I don’t associate this with violet, I would actually give this bottle bit more green or pink tones. For young woman or teen.

Seems this one is nicer than Luna since there is no black currant listed as one of the notes. Adding it to my “to test” list.
